This is a continuous problem rather than a one-off, which changes the answer entirely: you cannot wait for it to clear, so you have to manage it at the receiving end.
Quick answers — read this first
How do you handle constant off-gassing from new stock? With a receiving protocol rather than with fragrance. Unwrap and air new pieces in a ventilated back area for a period before they go on the floor, and open every drawer and door while they do.

Can fragrance cover it? No. It adds to it, and the combination is worse than the off-gassing alone. On a floor receiving stock weekly, a fragrance set high enough to compete would be unpleasant in the weeks when deliveries are light.

What releases the most? Freshly cut engineered board, adhesives and foam, and all of them release faster in heat. Closed cabinets, wardrobes and drawers hold the most and release it slowly into the room.
The short answer
Short answer: A receiving protocol, not a machine. Air new stock before it reaches the floor.
The pick: the SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999 for a contained area on Hotel Collection fragrance from ₹299, with the Aangan at ₹25,999 for a large display floor.
Sizing? WhatsApp +91 96192 18531 with your floor area, ceiling height, number of floors, AC and fan use, and which materials dominate your displays - remote sizing from your own measurements, no site visit needed outside Pune.
How SOSA sizes a commercial space - the order that actually worksStep 1 - find the source: solvents, sanitiser, footwear, drains, AC filters, stale airStep 2 - draw the air volume, not the floor plan: doors and partitions divide itStep 3 - decide which zones stay unscented, and write that downStep 4 - set intensity low and schedule it around your peakStep 5 - re-check after two weeks, then leave it alone
Commercial scenting goes wrong in a predictable order: somebody buys a machine to cover a smell that has a source, puts it where the socket is, runs it at full intensity because day one felt weak, and ends up with a room people comment on for the wrong reason. Source first, air volume second, unscented zones written down third, low intensity and a schedule fourth. This guide walks that sequence, with the real SOSA machine range at each size.
Straight answer
How should a showroom handle new furniture off-gassing every week?
With a receiving protocol, because you cannot wait out a problem that arrives again every Tuesday. Why the usual advice does not apply. For a one-off fit-out, the answer is ventilate and wait. A showroom receiving stock weekly never fully clears, so waiting is not available and the intervention has to happen before the piece reaches the floor. What is actually releasing. Freshly cut engineered board, the adhesives in it, edge-banding, foam in upholstery, and some finishes. Release rate rises sharply with temperature, which in an Ahmedabad warehouse or unloading bay means a delivery in May releases far faster than the same delivery in January - and that is useful, because it means heat is a tool rather than only a problem. Closed units hold the most: a wardrobe delivered with its doors shut is a sealed box of the newest board in the building, and it will release slowly into your showroom for weeks. The protocol. Unwrap on arrival rather than on the floor - plastic wrapping holds everything in and the unwrapping moment is when most of it is released. Air new pieces in a ventilated back area before display, for as long as your stockholding allows, with every door, drawer and lid standing open. Let the back area get hot during closed hours and then ventilate it hard, which accelerates the release into a space where nobody is standing. Then move the piece to the floor with its doors and drawers open for the first days, not closed. Keep the newest pieces away from seating areas and consultation tables, where customers spend time rather than pass through. And stage deliveries if you can, because five pieces arriving on one day produces a worse week than one piece arriving on five days. Why fragrance is the wrong instrument here. It adds rather than removes, and the mixture is worse. Worse, a level set high enough to compete with a heavy delivery week would be unpleasant in a light one, so you would be permanently either under or over. Where fragrance still fits. In an entrance, a consultation room or an office that is away from the receiving flow, at a low level, on the understanding that the display floor itself is managed by ventilation. A Vaayu at ₹11,999 on fragrance from ₹299 in one of those, key-locked. In a materials showroom the stock is already the fragrance, and customers read it as evidence. Wood, leather and textile smells are information about what you sell, and a composed fragrance competing with them produces a mixture that reads as neither. SOSA does not recommend scenting staff work areas or workshops. Somebody on a nine-hour shift cannot leave a scent they dislike, and nobody there chose it. Fragrance is an ambience decision and never a substitute for ventilation, cleaning or source control. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
One line: unwrap in the back, air it with every door open, then bring it out.
Fragrance in the entrance or consultation room only: ₹11,999. Fragrance from ₹299. The floor is managed by air.

Why continuous is different from one-off

For a one-off fit-out you wait it out. For a showroom receiving weekly, waiting is not an option.

Why this works
The receiving protocol
1 Unwrap in the back area, not on the floor - the wrapping holds it all in 2 Air new pieces with every door, drawer and lid open before display 3 Let the back area get hot during closed hours, then ventilate it hard 4 Stage deliveries, and keep the newest pieces away from seating areas
Display floors are sized on air volume: the SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999 for a contained area, Aangan at ₹25,999 for a large floor, Meenar at ₹38,500 for very large premises. Fragrance from ₹299.
01
Continuous, not one-off
So waiting is not available
A floor receiving stock weekly never fully clears, which removes the standard answer. The intervention has to happen before the piece reaches the floor, which makes this a logistics question rather than an ambience one.
Tip: You cannot wait out a weekly delivery.
02
Heat is a tool
Use it where nobody is standing
Release rate rises sharply with temperature, so a hot back area during closed hours accelerates off-gassing away from customers. Then ventilate hard before opening, and the piece arrives on the floor much further through the process.
Tip: Let it off-gas in the back, in the heat.
03
A competing level cannot work
Heavy weeks and light weeks
A setting high enough to compete with a big delivery week is unpleasant in a quiet one, so you would be permanently over or under. That is why fragrance cannot be the instrument for a variable load, whatever its level.
Tip: There is no setting that fits both weeks.
The SOSA principle
A wardrobe delivered with its doors shut is a sealed box of the newest board in the building.
Open everything that opens, in the back, before it comes out.

Fragrance on a floor that never fully clears

Where you do use fragrance, keep it away from the receiving flow and low, because the last thing a floor with variable off-gassing needs is a second variable in the same air.

The SOSA commercial range

Whatever the space, the method is the same: find the source of any smell and fix it, draw the air volume rather than the floor plan, write down which zones stay unscented, then set a low intensity and a schedule. Every SOSA fragrance is alcohol-free and made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali. Here is the range by the size of space it is honestly built for.

The SOSA commercial range
Sized by air volume, not by ambition - from a ₹749 reed diffuser to the ₹38,500 Meenar
Option Right for What it actually is Price
Reed diffusers One small room, no power point, no maintenance Alcohol-free reed oil, passive, silent. Good for a single cabin or a small front desk, not for a hall from ₹749
Boond / Sukoon ultrasonic A desk, a single cabin, a small reception Water-based cool mist; runs on Hotel Collection fragrance, adds a little humidity to the room ₹899 / ₹1,899
Megh ultrasonic (6L) A larger waiting area where visible mist is wanted 6L tank, water-based. Still a room machine rather than a floor machine ₹3,499
SOSA Vaayu Reception, lounge, corridor, a contained showroom floor Waterless cold-air, up to 1000m³ (about 2,000 to 3,000 sq ft), 400ml tank, app and 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, under 38 dB, key-lock for public areas ₹11,999
SOSA Aangan Large premises, or scenting carried on the building's own HVAC HVAC-mount nebulising machine, 800ml, roughly 8,000 to 10,000 sq ft, under 42 dB ₹25,999
SOSA Meenar Hotels, large showrooms, venues, corporate floors The largest machine in the range, specified for roughly 12,000 to 18,000 sq ft ₹38,500
Hotel Collection fragrance The fragrance the machines actually run on Seven scents, 15ml / 100ml / 300ml. SOSA's own interpretations; SOSA is independent and not affiliated with any hotel brand from ₹299
Honest notes for materials-led showrooms: fragrance is an ambience decision only and is never a substitute for ventilation, cleaning or source control. Wood, leather and textiles carry their own scent, which customers use when assessing material quality, so display areas and sample libraries are generally specified as unscented and contained consultation rooms are scented instead. New-furniture off-gassing from adhesives, finishes and engineered board is resolved by ventilation and time rather than by fragrance. SOSA makes no claim that ambient scenting increases footfall, enquiries, conversion, retention, referrals, transaction value or customer spend, and no such claim should be made on the strength of this guide. Where association language is used it is descriptive of ordinary experience - people come to associate a place with how it feels - and is not a commercial performance claim. Ultrasonic diffusers and the machines run on the Hotel Collection fragrance; reed diffusers use their own alcohol-free reed oil, and the two are not interchangeable. The Hotel Collection scents are SOSA's own interpretations inspired by the world's finest hotels; SOSA is an independent Indian fragrance house and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or associated with any hotel brand. SOSA's fragrances are made in India; the scent machines are imported. Listed prices are store prices and are subject to change. SOSA's paid on-site walkthrough is ₹1,500 and is Pune only - everywhere else, sizing is done remotely over WhatsApp from your own measurements. SOSA Sukoon ultrasonic cool mist diffuser
The small-room option Sukoon ultrasonic diffuser ₹1,899 A 500ml water-based cool-mist diffuser for a single cabin or a small desk. It adds a little humidity to the room, which is the reason it is not the choice for a monsoon-season space. See full specs →Size it on WhatsApp

A note from Sonal

Furniture and interiors is the one retail category where the merchandise is already the fragrance, and customers are using it as evidence. Real wood, real leather, natural fibres - people smell the difference between those and their cheaper equivalents, whether or not they could tell you they are doing it. That is an advantage you have already paid for in your buying, and covering it with an ambient scent throws it away.

So my advice for an Ahmedabad furniture or modular kitchen showroom is almost always the same: leave the display floor to the materials and scent the rooms where people sit and decide. A consultation area, a design lounge, a reception - contained spaces, away from the bulk of the stock, where a low dry woody register sits alongside the material character instead of arguing with it.

And the new-stock problem, which every showroom in this category has: furniture off-gasses for weeks from adhesives, finishes and boards, and in a sealed hard-air-conditioned Ahmedabad showroom it accumulates. That is ventilation, not fragrance - and fragrance over it is masking, which customers evaluating material quality are exactly the people who notice. WhatsApp +91 96192 18531. A part of every order funds girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

Frequently asked questions

How do we handle constant off-gassing from new stock?
With a receiving protocol rather than fragrance. Unwrap and air new pieces in a ventilated back area with every door open.
Can fragrance cover it?
No. It adds to it, and no single level can suit both heavy and light delivery weeks.
What releases the most?
Freshly cut engineered board, adhesives and foam, and closed cabinets hold the most and release slowly.
Can heat help?
Yes. Release rises with temperature, so a hot back area during closed hours accelerates it away from customers.
Where can we use fragrance?
An entrance, consultation room or office away from the receiving flow, at a low level.
