Yes, for a zone - and almost never for a whole club, which is the part worth being straight about before you spend anything. The SOSA Vaayu is ₹11,999, waterless cold-air nebulising, rated for roughly 1000 cubic metres of connected air, with SOSA's own copy also stating 2,000 to 3,000 sq ft evenly. Both figures are true and they describe the same machine, but a gym is not the building those square-foot numbers assume, because a gym is tall. Convert the rating into air, put your own ceiling height into it, and you get a straight answer about what one unit does in your building and where the second one starts.
Quick answers — read this first
How much area does one SOSA Vaayu cover in a gym? Work it from the air rather than the floor. One Vaayu is rated at roughly 1000 cubic metres of connected air, and 1000 cubic metres is 1000 multiplied by 35.3, which is 35,300 cubic feet. Divide that by your ceiling height and you get the floor area it corresponds to in your building: at 12 ft that is about 2,942 sq ft, at 14 ft about 2,521 sq ft, at 16 ft about 2,206 sq ft, and at 20 ft about 1,765 sq ft. SOSA's own copy states 2,000 to 3,000 sq ft evenly, which matches the top of that range at a normal 12 ft ceiling and the bottom of it at a tall 16 to 20 ft one. So a gym reaches the rating at a smaller floor area than an office does, and the honest planning figure for a tall club is nearer 2,000 sq ft than 3,000 - before you account for how hard the building is ventilated.
Can one Vaayu scent an entire premium fitness club? No, and we will not suggest it can. Two things stop it. The rating assumes one connected body of air, and a club with a reception, a training floor, two studios behind doors, a lounge and a changing block is five or six separate volumes with doors between them - a machine at reception is not scenting a closed studio, whatever the box says. And a large club exceeds the volume anyway: 5,000 sq ft at a 14 ft ceiling is 70,000 cubic feet, about 1,983 cubic metres, which is roughly two Vaayu-rated volumes in a single room. The honest routes are several units zoned at Rs 11,999 each, one per scented room, or - only where there is genuine ducted air handling - SOSA Aangan at Rs 25,999 or SOSA Meenar at Rs 38,500 injecting into the supply so the ductwork does the distributing.
What exactly do you get for Rs 11,999? A waterless cold-air nebulising scent machine rated for around 1000 cubic metres of connected air, with a Bluetooth app and a timer so you can schedule levels by time of day and day of week. It ships with four hotel-inspired waterless blends, chosen as one of three bundles at checkout. It has a 400ml tank, runs on DC 12V and 1A at 5W, and is mains powered, so it needs a live socket where you want it standing. It can sit freestanding, lie flat, or be wall or HVAC mounted. It is CE, RoHS and SGS certified. Because it is waterless it adds no water, no humidity and no wet residue to walls, equipment or floors, which is the reason it suits a gym. The water-based Hotel Collection from Rs 299 is for ultrasonic machines only and never goes into a Vaayu.
The short answer
Short answer: One SOSA Vaayu (Rs 11,999) is rated for about 1000 cubic metres of connected air. Converted: 1000 cubic metres is 35,300 cubic feet, so at a 12 ft ceiling that is about 2,942 sq ft, at 14 ft about 2,521, at 16 ft about 2,206 and at 20 ft about 1,765 - which is why SOSA's own 2,000 to 3,000 sq ft figure lands at the top of the range in a normal building and the bottom of it in a tall gym. It is waterless cold-air nebulising with a Bluetooth app and timer, ships with four hotel-inspired waterless blends (bundles A, B or C), has a 400ml tank, runs DC 12V/1A at 5W, is mains powered so it needs a live socket, sits freestanding or lies flat or mounts on a wall or into HVAC, and is CE, RoHS and SGS certified. One unit does not scent a whole club: a rating assumes one connected volume, and 5,000 sq ft at 14 ft is 70,000 cubic feet or about 1,983 cubic metres. Large clubs are zoned across multiple units, or use SOSA Aangan Rs 25,999 or Meenar Rs 38,500 where there is genuine ducted air handling. The Rs 299 water-based Hotel Collection is for ultrasonics only. WhatsApp +91 96192 18531.

Every customer-facing space hosts two audiences at once: the customer who forms an opinion in a single visit, and the staff who breathe that air for eight hours. Commercial scenting serves both with one move - a single refined fragrance, held evenly from the entrance to the far end of the floor, running on a schedule nobody has to remember. Customers experience it as "this brand has itself together"; the team gets premises that smell composed from opening to close.
We run a large premium fitness space. Is a Vaayu the right machine, and how many would we need?
Seven steps, and the arithmetic is worth doing with a pen. 1. Convert the rating into air. A SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) is rated at roughly 1000m³ of CONNECTED air. 1000 x 35.3 = 35,300 cubic feet. 2. Divide by your ceiling, not somebody else's. 35,300 / 12 = about 2,942 sq ft. / 14 = about 2,521 sq ft. / 16 = about 2,206 sq ft. / 20 = about 1,765 sq ft. SOSA's copy also states 2,000 to 3,000 sq ft evenly, and you can see where that comes from: the top of it is a normal 12 ft ceiling and the bottom of it is a tall one. A gym is tall, so plan nearer 2,000 than 3,000. 3. Correct for how hard you ventilate. A club moves far more outside air than an office does by design, and higher exchange means scented air is replaced faster, so a gym needs more machine per cubic metre than a sealed space of the same size. Treat the converted figure as an upper bound in a hard-ventilated room. And never reduce the exchange to make fragrance hold - not once, not in any form. 4. Split the building into connected volumes. A rating assumes one body of air. Reception, training floor, two studios behind doors, lounge and changing block is five or six volumes, and no machine pushes scent through a closed door. 5. Take the training floor out of the sum. It is usually more than half the club's air and it takes the lowest dose of any commercial space we write about, the cardio end lowest of all, because members there are breathing hard and receive the same setting at a far higher rate. That is perception and dosing, not a health claim - and it collapses the sizing problem. 6. Size what is left. A 5,000 sq ft club at 14 ft is 70,000 cubic feet, about 1,983m³ in total; the scented rooms inside it are usually four ordinary spaces of 200 to 350m³ each, and each of those sits comfortably inside one Vaayu. So a large club is a zoned multi-unit job, or - where there is genuine ducted air handling - Aangan (₹25,999) or Meenar (₹38,500) injecting into the supply. One unit never scents a whole club. 7. Check the practical specs before you commit. 400ml tank; DC 12V / 1A, 5W; mains powered, so it needs a live socket where you want it; freestanding, lay flat, or wall and HVAC mountable; Bluetooth app and timer; CE, RoHS and SGS; four hotel-inspired waterless blends included as bundle A, B or C. Waterless means no water, no humidity and no wet residue on walls, equipment or floors. The ₹299 water-based Hotel Collection is for ultrasonics such as Sukoon (₹1,899) and Megh (₹3,499) and never goes into a Vaayu. WhatsApp +91 96192 18531 with your floor plan, ceiling heights, hours and zone list. Made in India; a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
One line: 1000m³ is 35,300 cu ft, so one Vaayu (₹11,999) is about 2,942 sq ft at 12 ft, 2,206 at 16 ft and 1,765 at 20 ft - a zone, not a club. Large clubs are zoned units, or Aangan ₹25,999 / Meenar ₹38,500 where there is real ducting. WhatsApp +91 96192 18531.
The commercial standard most businesses choose: the SOSA Vaayu - waterless cold-air scenting to ~1000m³, Bluetooth app and timer, one signature on schedule - at ₹11,999. Single rooms and consultation corners start on reeds from ₹749; cabin systems from ₹1,899; large-premises HVAC from ₹25,999. What the rating means at gym ceiling heights, and where one unit stops
Three parts: what the coverage figure actually means once you put a gym ceiling into it, what one unit does and does not do inside a club, and the specifications that decide where it can physically go.
Why this works
Sizing a Vaayu for a tall building, by hand
The commercial standard: the SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999 - waterless, app-scheduled, ~1000m³ coverage. Single rooms start on reeds from ₹749.
Convert the rating into air, then divide by your own ceiling
Coverage figures are quoted two ways and both are honest, but only one of them survives contact with a gym. The volume figure is roughly 1000 cubic metres of connected air. The area figure in SOSA's own copy is 2,000 to 3,000 sq ft evenly. To reconcile them, convert: 1000 cubic metres multiplied by 35.3 is 35,300 cubic feet, and 35,300 cubic feet divided by a ceiling height gives you the floor area that corresponds to. At a 12 ft ceiling, 35,300 / 12 is about 2,942 sq ft, which is the top of the stated range. At 14 ft it is about 2,521 sq ft. At 16 ft, a common height for a training floor built for rig clearance and sightlines, it is about 2,206 sq ft. At 20 ft, which a double-height floor or a mezzanine club reaches easily, it is about 1,765 sq ft - well under the bottom of the stated range. Nothing about the machine changed across those four lines. Only the ceiling did. This is why we quote air rather than area for fitness buildings, and why a club owner who buys against the headline square footage without opening a tape measure is likely to be disappointed by a room that was never within the rating in the first place. Measure the finished ceiling height in each room, multiply by that room's floor area, divide by 35.3, and compare the result to 1000. That single calculation answers most of the question.
Tip: 1000m3 = 35,300 cu ft. At 12 ft that is about 2,942 sq ft; at 16 ft about 2,206; at 20 ft about 1,765. The ceiling does all the work.
2
The limits
Connected air, and the second variable nobody quotes
Two corrections sit on top of the arithmetic and both push the same way. The first is the connected-volume rule: every coverage figure published by anyone, ours included, assumes one body of air that circulates freely from the machine to the far end of the space. A premium club is deliberately not that. Reception is separated from the floor by a turnstile and often a glazed screen; the studios have solid doors that stay shut for the length of a class; the lounge is a room; the changing block is behind two doors and its own extract. Scent does not pass through a closed door in any useful quantity, so a single unit standing in reception is not scenting the studio, and no rating changes that. The second correction is air change rate, which almost nobody quotes and which matters more in your building than in any other commercial category. A gym is ventilated hard on purpose, because forty people training generate heat and moisture that has to leave, and higher exchange means the scented air is replaced faster - so a gym needs more machine per cubic metre than a sealed office of the same size. Treat the converted floor area as an upper bound rather than a target, and expect a quieter result in a hard-ventilated room than the same machine would give in a sealed one. That is an honest trade-off and it is the real reason a gym is a demanding scenting job. It is also a rate we will never suggest you lower - in a room full of people breathing hard, reducing fresh air to prolong a fragrance is not a trade anybody should make, in any phrasing.
3
The specification
What you actually receive, and where it can physically go
The Vaayu at ₹11,999 is a waterless cold-air nebulising machine: air pressure atomises neat fragrance oil into a very fine dry aerosol, so there is no water, no added humidity and no wet residue on walls, equipment or floors - which is the reason it belongs in a gym rather than an ultrasonic, given how much of your building is already wet, mirrored or gripped. It carries a Bluetooth app and a timer, so levels are scheduled by clock and day, and it ships with four hotel-inspired waterless blends chosen as a bundle at checkout: bundle A is Ritz-Carlton, Westin, St. Regis and 1 Hotels; bundle B is Westin, Shangri-La, Four Seasons and Ritz-Carlton; bundle C is St. Regis, W Hotels, 1 Hotels and Four Seasons. For a fitness club, bundle A is the useful one, because it holds the three driest registers in the set - Westin-inspired white tea, aloe and cedar; Ritz-Carlton-inspired white tea, bergamot and cedar; 1 Hotels-inspired cedarwood, vetiver and green leaves - with St. Regis-inspired amber, violet and woods in reserve for a lounge in the evening. These are SOSA's own hotel-inspired interpretations; SOSA is independent and not affiliated with any hotel brand. Physically: a 400ml tank, DC 12V / 1A at 5W, mains powered, CE, RoHS and SGS certified, and able to stand freestanding, lie flat, or mount on a wall or into HVAC. Being mains powered is the constraint people discover late - the machine needs a live socket at the place you want it, and the ideal position in a reception or a studio is not always where the electrician put one, so check the sockets before you decide on the position. And the format rule holds without exception: the ₹299 water-based Hotel Collection runs in ultrasonics only and never goes into a Vaayu.
Tip: mains powered at DC 12V / 1A, 5W - so decide the position with the socket plan in front of you, not the floor plan alone.
The SOSA principle
One Vaayu is a zone, not a club. 1000 cubic metres is 35,300 cubic feet, which at a 16 ft gym ceiling is about 2,206 sq ft of connected air - and a premium club is four or five separate volumes, not one.
Convert the rating into air, divide by your own ceiling, allow for how hard you ventilate, then zone. Multiple units, or Aangan and Meenar where there is genuine ducted air handling.

The SOSA commercial edit
Whatever your business sells, the system logic is the same: one signature, sized to the space, scheduled so it never depends on anyone's memory. A single small room or a consultation corner can sit happily on reeds with no power at all; a customer-facing floor wants the Vaayu; a venue or a flagship wants HVAC. Every SOSA system is supported from India, and the Hotel Collection blends - SOSA's own hotel-inspired interpretations - run across the powered ones. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali. Here is the full commercial range.

Honest notes for business owners: scenting compounds a well-run premises and rescues nothing. Ventilation, air-conditioning and cleaning come first, and fragrance never substitutes for hygiene or air quality - if the air is stale, damp or smoky, fix that at the source before any scent goes in. The people most exposed to the fragrance are not your customers but your STAFF, who work eight-hour shifts in it, which is why whisper calibration and locked settings are standard on every SOSA commercial install, and any staff sensitivity report should be treated as a recalibration signal rather than a complaint. Healthcare and wellness spaces need extra restraint: keep scenting to reception and circulation areas, never treatment rooms, and the practitioner's judgement overrides anything in this guide. The Hotel Collection scents are SOSA's own hotel-inspired interpretations; SOSA is an independent Indian fragrance house, not affiliated with or endorsed by any hotel brand. Ultrasonic systems use the water-based Hotel Collection fragrance; the Vaayu and HVAC systems run waterless nebulising oil - the formats are not interchangeable. WhatsApp consult: +91 96192 18531. ISIPCA Versailles
A note from Sonal
I have walked into jewellery showrooms lit like museums, bridal boutiques with hand-embroidered walls, furniture floors styled down to the last cushion, clinics with better art than most galleries - and in almost every one of them, the air was an afterthought. Floor polish, packaging cartons, the phenyl from the morning mopping, the workshop or the loading bay drifting forward. The one thing every customer takes in before they see anything is the thing most businesses leave to chance.
I trained at ISIPCA in Versailles, where the world's scent-marketing perfumers learn the craft, and what I build for Indian businesses is the same architecture the global hospitality brands use, whatever you sell: one signature, sized to the space, run on a schedule - so the scent is as reliable as your lighting. A consultation corner may only need reeds; a full floor needs the Vaayu; a venue needs the HVAC systems. If you want it applied to your specific premises, message us on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531 with the type of space and its approximate size - I read those descriptions myself.
Everything is made or assembled for Indian conditions, supported from Pune - and a part of every order funds girl-child education through Nanhi Kali. Your brand gets a memory; a girl gets a classroom. That equation has always felt right to me.
Frequently asked questions
Our training floor alone is 4,000 sq ft at 16 ft. Is that one unit or two?
Do the sum first: 4,000 multiplied by 16 is 64,000 cubic feet, and 64,000 divided by 35.3 is about 1,813 cubic metres. That is comfortably past the roughly 1000 cubic metres one unit is rated for, so on raw volume it is two units - and once you allow for how hard a training floor is ventilated, it is two units working at a level you would not want anyway. Which is the point at which the better question appears: how much fragrance does a training floor actually need? Our answer across this whole bank is at or near nothing, with the cardio zone lowest of all, because a member three sets into a heavy squat is moving many times the air a member at the desk is moving and experiences the same setting as dramatically stronger. So the honest recommendation for that room is not two machines. It is to put the character into the reception, the lounge and the studios, and leave the floor almost alone.
Does the Vaayu connect to our building management system or run on WiFi?
What is published is Bluetooth with an app, plus an onboard timer, and that is what we will describe. In practice you pair the unit from a phone, set the intensity and set the schedule by time of day and day of week, and it then runs that schedule on its own. It is not marketed with WiFi, cloud control or building management integration, and it has no published occupancy sensing, so it does not detect how many people are in the room or adjust itself when a class empties - do not buy it expecting that behaviour. For most clubs the clock is enough, because your peaks repeat: a 6 to 9 AM band, a quiet middle, a 5 to 9:30 PM band and a tail to close. If you need genuine central control across many zones and you have real ducted air handling, that is the conversation to have about Aangan at Rs 25,999 or Meenar at Rs 38,500, and it is a conversation for WhatsApp on +91 96192 18531 with your plans rather than a page.
Should we mount it into the HVAC or leave it standing in the room?
It depends on whether you have air handling worth using. The Vaayu can stand freestanding, lie flat, or be wall or HVAC mounted, and each has a real use. Freestanding suits a reception or a lounge where there is a discreet surface, a live socket and no reason to complicate things. Wall mounting suits a studio or a corridor where floor and counter space is contested and you want the unit out of reach of members and cleaning trolleys. HVAC mounting only makes sense where there is a genuine supply duct serving the zone you want to scent, in which case the ductwork becomes the distribution system and you get a far more even result than any freestanding unit can give in the same room. If your club has serious ducted air handling across several zones, that is also the point at which Aangan at Rs 25,999 or Meenar at Rs 38,500 deserve a look, because they are built for that architecture rather than adapted to it.
How many units would a 5,000 sq ft club need in total?
Start with the whole-building number and then reduce it honestly. A 5,000 sq ft club at a 14 ft ceiling is 5,000 multiplied by 14, which is 70,000 cubic feet, and 70,000 divided by 35.3 is about 1,983 cubic metres - roughly two Vaayu-rated volumes on the raw figure. But that building is not one volume and you are not scenting all of it. Break it into rooms: a reception of 400 sq ft at 12 ft is 4,800 cubic feet, about 136 cubic metres; a lounge of 500 sq ft at 12 ft is 6,000 cubic feet, about 170; a studio of 800 sq ft at 12 ft is 9,600 cubic feet, about 272. Those three total about 578 cubic metres across three separate rooms with doors between them, and the training floor - the largest space by far - is left at or near nothing. So the practical answer for many clubs of that size is one unit per scented room rather than a calculation against 1,983 cubic metres. Send your plan and heights to +91 96192 18531 and we will work it through properly.
What does it cost to keep a Vaayu running once we have bought it?
The purchase price is published and firm at Rs 11,999, and it includes four hotel-inspired waterless blends chosen as bundle A, B or C at checkout. The ongoing figure is one we will not give you. SOSA does not publish a standalone waterless refill bottle for the Vaayu, so there is no refill price, consumption rate, monthly running cost, blend duration or machine lifespan that we can state honestly, and a number invented from a guess would be actively harmful to a club that would budget against it. It is also why the Rs 299 water-based Hotel Collection is not an answer here - that bottle is for ultrasonic machines such as the Sukoon at Rs 1,899 and the Megh at Rs 3,499 and never goes into a Vaayu. What we can tell you qualitatively is what drives consumption: the volume of air, the intensity setting, the hours of operation, the ventilation rate and the number of zones. WhatsApp +91 96192 18531 with your floor area, ceiling heights, opening hours and zone list, and you will get a real answer from a person.

Facts verified August 2026: Ambient scent research consistently associates pleasant, congruent scenting with improved evaluations of a space and its service, longer dwell time and stronger brand recall at moderate effect sizes; congruence (scent matching the setting) and gentle intensity outperform strong scenting in replicated studies, and no scent effect survives poor ventilation, poor cleaning or poor indoor air quality. Olfactory memory is unusually durable: scent-linked brand memories persist and retrieve for years, which is the mechanism behind signature scents. Staff exposure is the design constraint, since employees breathe the fragrance for full shifts: whisper calibration, locked settings and sensitivity accommodations are standard practice, and healthcare and wellness settings call for extra restraint. SOSA systems: alcohol-free reed diffusers from ₹749 for single rooms with no power needed; Sukoon 500ml ultrasonic (₹1,899) and Megh 6L ultrasonic (₹3,499) run the water-based Hotel Collection fragrance (from ₹299; refills from ₹999, 100ml ₹999); SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) is a waterless cold-air nebulising machine, ~1000m³ coverage, Bluetooth app and timer; SOSA Aangan (₹25,999) and SOSA Meenar (₹38,500) are HVAC nebulising systems for approximately 8,000-10,000 and 12,000-18,000 sq ft respectively. The Hotel Collection scents are SOSA's own hotel-inspired interpretations; SOSA is independent and not affiliated with any hotel brand. Ultrasonic systems run water-based fragrance; the Vaayu and the HVAC systems run waterless nebulising oil - the two formats are not interchangeable. Made in India.
