A home signature is one scent carried by air, room to room — but on the coast, the air is already doing too much. Mumbai in August, Goa through the monsoon, Chennai and Kochi year round: the sea has loaded the air with moisture before you add anything. So the rule for a humid home is simple — scent the whole house without adding a single drop of damp, and dry the air before you scent it.
Quick answer
Go waterless throughout. A Vaayu (or a ducted Aangan in a villa) scents the whole house and adds no humidity to already-heavy air.
Reeds for the closed rooms. Alcohol-free and passive — no moisture, nothing to spill, ideal for coastal bedrooms.
Fix the damp first. Ventilate and dehumidify; fragrance crowns dry air, it never masks a musty flat.

There are two ways SOSA machines put scent into the air, and on the coast the difference matters. Ultrasonic diffusers — Boond, Sukoon, Megh — mist water and add mild humidity. Lovely in a dry Pune winter; the last thing you want running all day in a monsoon flat. The Vaayu nebulises fragrance oil with no water at all, so it scents up to 1000 cubic metres for hours and adds nothing to an already-loaded room.

Sea air can slow the throw a little, so flip the reeds slightly more often or step up to a 130ml bottle in a larger room. Casting matters too: on the coast, fresh notes read cleaner than sweet ones. What is the best whole-home fragrance for a humid coastal city?
