Vaayu ₹11,999: waterless cold-air nebulising, up to 1,000 m³, Bluetooth app and timer, runs neat oil, adds no humidity, cannot take the Hotel Collection.
Which: Sukoon for rooms with doors, which is most of a flat. Vaayu for one large connected volume — double-height, villa great room, open-plan above roughly 2,000 sq ft.
2. A Vaayu where volume, not room count, is the difficulty. The Vaayu at ₹11,999 is rated to 1,000 m³ and is a waterless cold-air nebuliser. That rating is a volume, and it is the right tool for a double-height living room, a villa great room, or connected open-plan common areas above roughly 2,000 sq ft.
3. The liquids are not interchangeable, and this is the decision. The Sukoon takes the water-based Hotel Collection, 3–6 drops per tank, from ₹299. The Vaayu takes neat oil and cannot run the Hotel Collection. Never put neat oil in an ultrasonic either — it is too viscous to atomise and it films the misting plate.
4. Humidity is the other split, and it is a weather question. Ultrasonic output is mostly water, so a Sukoon lifts room humidity slightly. In a dry Delhi winter or a heavily air-conditioned bedroom that is a benefit. In a Mumbai monsoon it is the opposite. The Vaayu adds nothing to the air but fragrance.
5. Most homes should be comparing six Sukoons to one Vaayu, not one to one. Six Sukoons is ₹11,394 against the Vaayu's ₹11,999 — ₹605 apart. That is the honest comparison, and it is a choice between six independent switches in six rooms and one output covering one volume.

Why the two spec sheets refuse to compare
Put the numbers side by side and they look like they belong to the same scale: 270–320 sq ft against 1,000 m³. They do not. One is an area and one is a volume, and the reason each machine is quoted the way it is tells you exactly who it was built for. The Sukoon is rated in square feet because it is sold to people who think in rooms — a bedroom, a living room, a room with a door and four walls and a fairly standard ceiling. The Vaayu is rated in cubic metres because it is a commercial cold-air nebulising machine, and commercial scenting works in open volumes: a lobby, an atrium, a showroom floor, spaces where there is no door to stop anything and the only relevant question is how much air there is.
Convert them and the trap becomes visible. A thousand cubic metres at a typical 2.7-metre ceiling is roughly 3,900 sq ft of connected floor. That sounds like it swallows a whole flat, and it would — if the flat were one open space. It is not. A 3BHK is a living-dining zone plus three sealed boxes, and a shut door stops fragrance almost completely regardless of what is running on the other side of it. So the Vaayu's enormous rating is spent on the one space it stands in, and the bedrooms get nothing. Meanwhile six Sukoons, at ₹605 less than one Vaayu, are six machines standing in six different air spaces. The comparison is not power against power. It is one large capability in one place against six small capabilities in six places, and which of those your home can use is decided by your floor plan, not by your budget.
The three differences that actually decide it
Hotel CollectionFrom ₹299The Sukoon is an ultrasonic machine: a plate vibrating at 2.4MHz turns water into a cool mist, and three to six drops of water-based Hotel Collection ride out with it. The Vaayu is a cold-air nebuliser: it forces neat oil through a nozzle into a dry micro-droplet cloud, with no water involved at any point. The two liquids cannot be swapped in either direction. Water-based fragrance in a nebuliser is mostly water going through a nozzle tuned for oil, and the throw would be feeble even if the machine tolerated it. Neat oil in an ultrasonic is worse — it will not atomise and it coats the plate. So the honest way to read the price gap is that ₹11,999 also costs you the seven Hotel Collection scents.Which one your home wants
Read this by architecture rather than by size. The question is never how many square feet you own — it is how many separate air spaces you have, and how big the largest connected one is.
| Your home | The deciding feature | What to buy | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Studio, 1BHK, 2BHK | Small rooms, doors that shut | One Sukoon per room you use | ₹1,899 each |
| 3BHK or 4BHK flat ★ | Several sealed bedrooms, one living zone | Three to five Sukoons — a Vaayu cannot reach the bedrooms | ₹5,697–₹9,495 |
| Duplex with a double-height living room | One tall connected volume plus normal bedrooms | Vaayu for the volume, Sukoons upstairs | ₹11,999 + ₹1,899 each |
| Villa, bungalow, large open-plan | Over roughly 2,000 sq ft of connected open area | Vaayu for the common areas, Sukoons in bedrooms | ₹11,999 + ₹1,899 each |
| Whole ducted property | Central air handling, 8,000–10,000 sq ft | Aangan HVAC nebulising system | ₹25,999 |
| The thing to check before you buy a Vaayu: stand in the space with every door shut and ask whether it is genuinely one body of air. If you can see a doorway that gets closed at night, that part of the home is a Sukoon problem and always will be. | |||

Running each of them properly
The Sukoon. Stand it about a metre off the floor — a console, a shelf, a chest of drawers — with a foot of clear space around it and out of the direct path of a fan or an AC vent. Moving air does not distribute mist, it pushes it into one wall. Start at three to four drops of Hotel Collection in a full tank rather than six; the dose that feels right while you are moving around is usually one notch too strong once you sit down. Use the timer instead of running it continuously — an hour or two in the evening is the setting most people end up at, and it makes a 300ml bottle at ₹1,799 last months. Rinse the tank when you change scent, and use filtered water in a hard-water city so the plate stays clean.
The Vaayu. There is no tank and no water to think about, so the variables become position, intensity and schedule. Place it low and near where air naturally moves through the volume — the bottom of a stairwell, near a supply vent, at the open end of a great room — because a nebulised cloud is dry and light and wants a current to carry it rather than a wall to condense on. Set the intensity down, not up: the commonest error with a commercial machine at home is running it at a level tuned for a lobby, in a space where you are sitting still for four hours. Use the app timer to run it in bursts, which is how commercial systems are actually programmed.
Both, and the mistake that ruins either. Do not try to make one machine do two rooms by leaving a door open all day — you will get a weak version of the scent in both instead of a good one in one. Do not raise the dose to fix a placement problem; if the fragrance is obvious next to the machine and gone six feet away, moving it will do more than doubling the drops. And keep the liquids strictly separate: the water-based Hotel Collection is for the Boond, Sukoon and Megh only, never for a nebuliser and never for reeds; neat oil is for the Vaayu and Aangan only, and will destroy an ultrasonic plate.
What each one costs, including what it costs you
The purchase price is the smaller half of this. What matters more is what each machine commits you to afterwards — a fragrance range, a filling routine and a certain shape of control.

Versailles
I sell both of these, so let me be blunt about the one that costs more. The Vaayu is the wrong machine for the large majority of the homes that ask me about it, and it is wrong for a reason that has nothing to do with quality. It is an excellent machine aimed at a problem most Indian flats simply do not contain.
What people are really asking when they email me about the Vaayu is usually "why is my flat not strong enough". Nine times in ten the flat is fine and the machine is standing in the wrong place, or running at the wrong hour, or sitting under a ceiling fan. Those are free to fix. Buying eleven thousand rupees of commercial nebulising to solve a placement problem is the most expensive way I know to not fix it.
So: if your home is rooms, buy Sukoons, one per room you actually spend time in, and stop. If your home has one genuinely enormous connected space — the double-height room, the villa great room — then buy the Vaayu for that space and Sukoons for the bedrooms, and accept that you are now running two fragrance systems. A portion of every order funds a girl's classroom through Nanhi Kali.
