Yes, and for a design practice it is four additions to documents that already exist, rather than a new service to build.
Quick answers — read this first
Can scenting become a standard home specification? Yes. For a design practice it means four additions: power positions on the electrical drawing, concealment in the joinery schedule, volume calculations in the room data, and a section in the handover file.

What does the handover section contain? The register, the setting for each room, unit locations, refill interval, and the list of rooms deliberately left unscented so nobody adds one later.

Why does it need to be written down? Because an unwritten scheme lasts until the first refill or the first staff change. A key-locked SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999 protects the setting; the document protects the reasoning.
The short answer
Short answer: Yes - four additions to documents a practice already produces, ending with a handover section the client can maintain.
The pick: the SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999 for a connected living volume up to about 2,000 to 3,000 sq ft, the Aangan at ₹25,999 for a very large double-height space, SOSA reed diffusers from ₹749 for bedrooms and studies, on Hotel Collection fragrance from ₹299.
Sizing? WhatsApp +91 96192 18531 with room volumes including ceiling heights, which spaces are open to each other, courtyard layout, and where power points can still be added - remote sizing from your own measurements, no site visit needed outside Pune.
How SOSA sizes a commercial space - the order that actually worksStep 1 - find the source: solvents, sanitiser, footwear, drains, AC filters, stale airStep 2 - draw the air volume, not the floor plan: doors and partitions divide itStep 3 - decide which zones stay unscented, and write that downStep 4 - set intensity low and schedule it around your peakStep 5 - re-check after two weeks, then leave it alone
Commercial scenting goes wrong in a predictable order: somebody buys a machine to cover a smell that has a source, puts it where the socket is, runs it at full intensity because day one felt weak, and ends up with a room people comment on for the wrong reason. Source first, air volume second, unscented zones written down third, low intensity and a schedule fourth. This guide walks that sequence, with the real SOSA machine range at each size.
Straight answer
Can professional scenting become a standard luxury-home specification?
Yes, and for a design practice it is four small additions to documents that already exist rather than a new discipline. One: the electrical drawing. Two discreet power positions per scented volume, placed deep in the room, clear of seating and away from air-conditioning returns, with the deliberately unscented rooms marked so nobody adds a point out of habit. Two: the joinery schedule. A shallow ventilated niche or panel per unit, which makes the equipment invisible and costs nothing when it is decided alongside the rest of the cabinetry. Three: the room data sheets. Air volume including ceiling height for each space, plus a note of every opening that connects it to another volume - which is the calculation that gets missed and the reason double-height rooms underperform. Four: the handover file. A short section giving the register, the setting for each room, unit locations, the refill interval and the list of rooms that are deliberately unscented, with the reason. That last item is what makes the scheme survive, because an unwritten arrangement lasts until the first refill runs out or the first change of household staff, after which somebody makes reasonable decisions that are collectively wrong - a different fragrance because it was available, a higher setting because nobody could smell it, a machine in the dining room because there was a socket. Two further practice-level decisions make it repeatable: a house register the studio uses by default, so the choice is considered once rather than per project, and a standing rule that commissioning happens weeks after move-in rather than at handover, once the building has aired. Specification: a SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999 per main volume, the Aangan at ₹25,999 for very large spaces, reeds from ₹749 for bedrooms, on Hotel Collection fragrance from ₹299. SOSA makes no therapeutic, mood or calming claim. Fragrance is an ambience decision and never a substitute for ventilation, cleaning or source control. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
One line: electrical drawing, joinery schedule, room data, handover file. Four lines, done.

Four lines in a practice's templates

Practices treat this as a new service and it is closer to a checklist addition, which is why it is worth doing once properly.

Why this works
Four additions to the templates
1 Electrical drawing - two positions per scented volume, unscented rooms marked 2 Joinery schedule - a ventilated niche or panel per unit 3 Room data - air volume including height, and connected openings 4 Handover file - register, settings, locations, intervals, and the zeroes
The machine specified in most large Jaipur homes for the main living volume: the SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999 - waterless, under 38 dB, app and timer control. Bedrooms take reeds from ₹749. Fragrance from ₹299.
01
The handover section is the point
Reasoning outlives memory
Recording the settings is useful; recording why certain rooms are unscented is what actually protects the scheme. Without it, a household in 2029 adds a diffuser to the dining room, raises the living room because nobody can smell it, and the carefully sized scheme becomes three unrelated decisions. One paragraph prevents all of it, and it costs a practice nothing to include.
Tip: Record why the dining room is empty, or somebody will fill it.
02
A house register
Decide once, not per project
A practice that selects a default register considered against the kind of materials it usually works in makes a better choice once than it would make hurriedly on twelve projects. It also simplifies procurement and lets the studio speak about the decision with authority, which is more convincing to a client than a fresh mood-board exercise each time.
03
Commission after move-in
Standing rule, not a judgement call
New paint, adhesives and joinery off-gas for weeks, and how a family actually uses a house - which doors stay open, which rooms are lived in - only becomes clear afterwards. Making post-occupancy commissioning a standing practice rule removes both problems and produces a better zoning plan than any drawing-stage assumption.
Tip: Commission after move-in as a rule, not as a judgement call.
The SOSA principle
It is not a new service. It is four lines in documents the practice already produces.
The handover paragraph is the one that makes it last.

What the handover file carries

With those four in place, every project gets a correctly sized, concealed, documented scheme without anybody having to think about it again, which is what standard specification means.

Electrical drawing Two positions per scented volume; unscented rooms marked
Joinery schedule A ventilated niche or panel per unit, decided with the cabinetry

The SOSA commercial range

Whatever the space, the method is the same: find the source of any smell and fix it, draw the air volume rather than the floor plan, write down which zones stay unscented, then set a low intensity and a schedule. Every SOSA fragrance is alcohol-free and made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali. Here is the range by the size of space it is honestly built for.

The SOSA commercial range
Sized by air volume, not by ambition - from a ₹749 reed diffuser to the ₹38,500 Meenar
Option Right for What it actually is Price
Reed diffusers One small room, no power point, no maintenance Alcohol-free reed oil, passive, silent. Good for a single cabin or a small front desk, not for a hall from ₹749
Boond / Sukoon ultrasonic A desk, a single cabin, a small reception Water-based cool mist; runs on Hotel Collection fragrance, adds a little humidity to the room ₹899 / ₹1,899
Megh ultrasonic (6L) A larger waiting area where visible mist is wanted 6L tank, water-based. Still a room machine rather than a floor machine ₹3,499
SOSA Vaayu Reception, lounge, corridor, a contained showroom floor Waterless cold-air, up to 1000m³ (about 2,000 to 3,000 sq ft), 400ml tank, app and 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, under 38 dB, key-lock for public areas ₹11,999
SOSA Aangan Large premises, or scenting carried on the building's own HVAC HVAC-mount nebulising machine, 800ml, roughly 8,000 to 10,000 sq ft, under 42 dB ₹25,999
SOSA Meenar Hotels, large showrooms, venues, corporate floors The largest machine in the range, specified for roughly 12,000 to 18,000 sq ft ₹38,500
Hotel Collection fragrance The fragrance the machines actually run on Seven scents, 15ml / 100ml / 300ml. SOSA's own interpretations; SOSA is independent and not affiliated with any hotel brand from ₹299
Honest notes for homes and interior projects: fragrance is an ambience decision only and never a substitute for ventilation, cleaning or source control. Sizing is by air volume including ceiling height, not floor area, and spaces open to a courtyard or to outdoor air will not hold a scent at any setting. Fragrance introduced into a semi-open or outdoor volume is carried away by air that does not stay in the space, so it is spent rather than used. This is a physical limit and not a machine limit: no output setting makes an open courtyard hold a scent. Bedrooms and rooms used for long periods should be set lower than entrance areas, households include children, elderly family members, pets and people with fragrance sensitivity, and unscented rooms should be kept. SOSA makes no claim that ambient scenting increases bookings, enquiries, conversion, retention, referrals, transaction value or guest spend, and no such claim should be made on the strength of this guide. Where memory or association language is used it is descriptive of ordinary experience - people come to associate a place with how it felt - and is not a commercial performance claim, nor a claim about mood, sleep, stress, calm or any other therapeutic effect. Ultrasonic diffusers and the machines run on the Hotel Collection fragrance; reed diffusers use their own alcohol-free reed oil, and the two are not interchangeable. The Hotel Collection scents are SOSA's own interpretations inspired by the world's finest hotels; SOSA is an independent Indian fragrance house and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or associated with any hotel brand. SOSA's fragrances are made in India; the scent machines are imported. Listed prices are store prices and are subject to change. SOSA's paid on-site walkthrough is ₹1,500 and is Pune only - everywhere else, sizing is done remotely over WhatsApp from your own measurements. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali. WhatsApp: +91 96192 18531.
SOSA Sukoon ultrasonic cool mist diffuser
The small-room option Sukoon ultrasonic diffuser ₹1,899 A 500ml water-based cool-mist diffuser for a single cabin or a small desk. It adds a little humidity to the room, which is the reason it is not the choice for a monsoon-season space. See full specs →Size it on WhatsApp

A note from Sonal

The reason I like being called at drawing stage is unglamorous: a power point costs nothing before the plaster goes on and is a genuine nuisance afterwards. Two discreet high-level points in each room that will actually be scented, and the whole thing disappears into the house instead of sitting on a console table with a cable running down the wall.

The mistake I see most in large Jaipur homes is treating height as if it were not there. A double-height living room holds roughly twice the air of the same floor plan at normal ceiling height, so it is a bigger room in every sense that matters here, and the answer is to size for the volume rather than to turn a smaller machine up. And a courtyard house simply does not hold a scent in the courtyard, whatever anyone tells you.

The limits. Fragrance is an ambience decision, never a substitute for ventilation, cleaning or source control, and I make no therapeutic claim of any kind. If you are specifying a home and want the volumes worked out, WhatsApp me on +91 96192 18531. A part of every order funds girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

Frequently asked questions

Can scenting become a standard home specification?
Yes. For a practice it is four additions: power positions on the electrical drawing, concealment in the joinery schedule, volume data per room, and a handover section.
What should the handover section contain?
The register, the setting for each room, unit locations, refill interval, and the rooms deliberately left unscented with the reason.
Why record the unscented rooms?
Because otherwise a household adds a diffuser to the dining room two years later, and the carefully sized scheme becomes three unrelated decisions.
Should a practice have a default register?
Yes. Choosing once, considered against the materials the studio usually works in, beats a hurried mood-board exercise on every project.
When should commissioning happen?
Weeks after move-in, as a standing rule rather than a judgement call. WhatsApp +91 96192 18531.
