One machine per floor is the instinctive answer in a two-storey house, and for most villas it is Rs 11,999 spent to duplicate something the staircase was already doing. But not for every villa. There are two genuine cases where the second unit earns its money, and there is a third route that costs barely more than two machines and does something neither of them can. Here are all four totals side by side, with nothing hidden.
Quick answers — read this first
Should I buy one scent machine per floor or one for the whole villa? One for the whole villa, in most cases. If the staircase is open, both floors are one connected volume and a single SOSA Vaayu at Rs 11,999 placed low near the stair base serves the ground floor and the landing above it, because warm air rises and the stair void behaves like a chimney. A second unit takes the total to Rs 23,998 and is genuinely justified in two situations only: when a door at the top of the stairs or an enclosed stairwell has made the upper floor a separate volume, and when a floor is lived on separately by the family and has its own connected space, such as a first-floor lounge and landing behind a door. On an open stairwell, which most Indian villas have, the second machine buys duplication rather than coverage.

What does two scent machines cost compared to a ducted system? Two SOSA Vaayus are Rs 23,998. The ducted SOSA Aangan is Rs 25,999, which is only Rs 2,001 more, and it nebulises into central air-conditioning ductwork so it reaches approximately 8,000 to 10,000 sq ft including rooms with their doors shut, which no number of standalone machines can do. Add the bedroom layer and the gap closes further: two Vaayus plus five reeds at Rs 749 comes to Rs 27,743, which is Rs 1,744 more than the Aangan on its own. The single condition is genuine ducted central air-conditioning; a villa on split units has no shared airflow to nebulise into, and the honest answer there is one machine plus a small answer per sealed space.

When is a second scent machine actually worth buying? When there is a second connected volume, not a second floor. The test is simple: can air move freely between the two spaces without anybody opening a door? If yes, they are one volume and one machine holds both, with a second unit producing two strong zones and a thin middle rather than better coverage. If no, they are two volumes and each needs its own answer. Even then, check the size of the second one before spending Rs 11,999 again: a sealed upper floor that is only bedrooms and a corridor does not need a machine for a corridor, and a sealed upper lounge is often better served by a Megh 6L at Rs 3,499 with the water-based Hotel Collection from Rs 299, which brings the house to Rs 15,498 rather than Rs 23,998.
The short answer
Short answer: The four totals. One SOSA Vaayu Rs 11,999 on the connected volume plus five reeds at Rs 749 is Rs 15,744, and it is the right answer for a villa with an open stairwell, because the stair void carries the register upward on its own. One Vaayu plus a Megh 6L Rs 3,499 for a sealed upper lounge is Rs 15,498, which is Rs 8,500 less than a second Vaayu. Two Vaayus are Rs 23,998, or Rs 27,743 with five reeds, and they are justified only where a door at the top of the stairs or a separately lived-on floor has created a second connected volume. The ducted Aangan is Rs 25,999, only Rs 2,001 above two machines and Rs 1,744 below two machines plus reeds, and it reaches approximately 8,000 to 10,000 sq ft including rooms behind shut doors, on genuine central air-conditioning. Three Vaayus are Rs 35,997 and remain stopped by every closed door. WhatsApp +91 96192 18531.
The pick: the SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999, four hotel-inspired blends included in the box) for the connected living volume of a villa; reeds from ₹749 for a single bedroom or bathroom; a single room done properly from ₹899; the Aangan (₹25,999) ducted into central air-conditioning for genuine whole-home coverage.

Whole-home scenting for a villa - at a glanceStep 1 - your home is judged in one breath, at the front doorStep 2 - one signature, not five competing smells in five roomsStep 3 - size it to the house: Vaayu ₹11,999, four blends includedOne room - reeds ₹749 · central air-conditioning - Aangan ₹25,999On a schedule · free sizing on WhatsApp
A villa is not one room, it is a set of connected volumes and a set of closed doors, and the two need different answers. Whole-home scenting means one fragrance held evenly across the part of the house you actually live in - the entrance, the living room, the dining - running on a schedule so it is already there when someone walks through your front door, and already there when you come home yourself. The bedrooms, the guest bathroom and the study get their own quiet solutions. Nobody in the house has to remember anything.
Straight answer
One machine per floor or one for the house - what do the numbers actually say?
Four routes, priced. 1. One machine - ₹15,744. A SOSA Vaayu ₹11,999 - waterless cold-air, approximately 1000m³, Bluetooth app and timer, four hotel-inspired waterless blends in the box - placed low near the stair base, plus five reeds at ₹749 (₹3,745). This is the correct answer for a villa with an open stairwell, because the void is a chimney: warm air rises and carries the register to the landing for nothing. 2. One machine plus a small unit on a sealed floor - ₹15,498. If a door at the top of the stairs has cut the house in two and the upper floor has a lounge worth scenting, a Megh 6L ₹3,499 with the water-based Hotel Collection ₹299 holds it through an evening - ₹8,500 less than a second machine. 3. Two machines - ₹23,998, or ₹27,743 with five reeds. Genuinely earned in two houses: a sealed upper floor behind its own landing door, and a floor the family lives on separately with its own connected run of lounge, pantry and landing. Not earned on an open stairwell, where two units inside one volume give you two strong zones and a trough between them. 4. Ducted - ₹25,999. The Aangan nebulises into central air-conditioning and carries one signature to approximately 8,000-10,000 sq ft across every floor the ducts serve, including rooms with their doors shut. That is ₹2,001 above two machines and ₹1,744 below two machines plus a reed layer, and it does something two machines structurally cannot. Meenar ₹38,500 covers approximately 12,000-18,000 sq ft. Three Vaayus, for the record, is ₹35,997 and still stops at every door. The one condition on route four is real ducted central air-conditioning; on split units it does not exist. And before you buy a second unit for a thin upper floor, check the three free causes first - the machine placed too high, an air-conditioner blowing across it, or a schedule that starts too late. One line: open stairwell, one Vaayu ₹11,999 and reeds from ₹749 (₹15,744 all in); two genuine volumes, ₹23,998; every room including behind doors, the ducted Aangan ₹25,999 - only ₹2,001 more than two machines. WhatsApp +91 96192 18531.
The whole-home answer most villa owners land on: the SOSA Vaayu - waterless cold-air scenting to ~1000m³, Bluetooth app and timer, and four hotel-inspired blends included in the box - at ₹11,999. One bedroom or a guest bathroom starts on reeds from ₹749; a single room done properly from ₹899; central air-conditioning from ₹25,999. Four totals, and the two houses that justify the second unit

The two houses where a second machine is right, the houses where it is not, and the four totals in a row.

Why this works at home
Two machines or one, priced honestly
1One Vaayu Rs 11,999; two is Rs 23,998; the ducted Aangan is Rs 25,9992The ducted route sits only Rs 2,001 above two standalone machines3A second unit earns its price only where there is a second sealed volume4Open stairwell: one machine plus five reeds from Rs 749 is Rs 15,744
The whole-home answer: the SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999 - waterless, app-scheduled, ~1000m³, and it arrives with four hotel-inspired blends in the box. A single bedroom or guest bathroom starts on reeds from ₹749.
1
When it earns it
Two houses where the second machine is genuinely the right purchase
The test is never how many floors you have. It is how many volumes you have, and the question that settles it is whether air can move between the two spaces without anybody opening a door. Two houses pass that test. One: a door at the top of the stairs, or a fully enclosed stairwell. This is common in villas built for privacy or for a joint family, and it removes the chimney completely - there is no continuous convection current between the floors, so a ground-floor machine holds the ground floor and nothing above it, at any setting. If the upper floor then has a genuine connected run of its own - a landing, a passage and a lounge or sitting area that share air with each other - a second Vaayu at ₹11,999 has a real volume to serve and earns its price, taking the house to ₹23,998. Two: a floor the family lives on separately. Plenty of Indian villas run this way in practice: parents on the ground floor and the younger family upstairs with their own lounge and pantry; or a formal ground floor kept for guests and a first-floor family room where everybody actually spends the evening. The condition is the same one - that upper space must be a connected volume of its own rather than a corridor with bedrooms off it - but the case is strengthened by hours, because two separately lived-on floors want two different schedules, and a single machine can only hold one. What does not pass the test, however tempting: an upper floor that is genuinely open to the stairwell. That is one volume standing on its end, and it is already served.
Tip: count volumes, not floors. If air can get there without a door being opened, you already own the distribution system.
2
When it does not
What the second Rs 11,999 buys on an open stairwell, and it is not coverage
Most Indian villas have an open stair void, and in those houses the second machine buys four things you did not want. Unevenness. Each unit produces a stronger zone around itself with the level falling away from it, so two of them inside one connected volume give you two peaks and a trough in between, and the two are unlikely to be in step. At home the target is evenness rather than strength - a hotel lobby reads as composed precisely because the level is the same everywhere in it. Duplication. The stair void was already carrying the register upward for free, so the second unit is paying ₹11,999 to do a job convection was doing at no cost. A second thing to run. Two schedules to keep in step, two units to keep supplied with fragrance, and a house that smells of two intensities at the threshold between them if either drifts. Ongoing fragrance supply for the Vaayu is arranged with us directly, and one supply line is simpler than two - message us on WhatsApp for that rather than guessing. And it does not touch the actual gap. The genuine hole in a two-floor villa is the bedrooms, and a second machine on the landing cannot open a bedroom door any more than the first one downstairs can. So before spending it, work through the three free causes of a thin upper floor: the unit placed too high, an air-conditioner blowing directly across it, or an evening block that starts when people are already walking in rather than in the mid-afternoon. Those three account for most disappointed first floors, and all three cost nothing to correct.
3
The four totals
Set them in a row and the argument usually settles itself
Write the numbers out, because they sit closer together than anyone expects. Route one, one machine: Vaayu ₹11,999, and with five reeds at ₹749 (₹3,745) for the sealed rooms the house is ₹15,744. Route two, one machine plus a small unit for a sealed upper floor: ₹11,999 + a Megh 6L ₹3,499 = ₹15,498, which is ₹8,500 less than buying a second Vaayu for that floor, and for a first-floor lounge used in the evenings it is very often the honest answer. A Sukoon ₹1,899 or a Boond ₹899 with the water-based Hotel Collection ₹299 covers a single room instead. Route three, two machines: ₹23,998, or ₹27,743 once the five bedroom reeds are added, because two machines still do not cross a door. Route four, ducted: the Aangan at ₹25,999 nebulises into central air-conditioning and delivers one signature to approximately 8,000 to 10,000 sq ft across every floor the ducts serve, bedrooms included, which means the reed layer largely stops being necessary. So it is ₹2,001 above two bare machines and ₹1,744 below two machines with a reed layer - and it does the one thing no standalone machine does at any price. For a larger property, Meenar at ₹38,500 covers approximately 12,000 to 18,000 sq ft. The conclusion most villa owners reach when they see this laid out: if you are seriously contemplating a second machine, price the ducted route first, and if your house is on split units rather than ducted central air-conditioning, stay with one machine and spend the difference on the rooms it was never going to reach.
Tip: anyone contemplating a second machine should price the ducted route first. ₹2,001 is the entire gap, and the two are not doing the same job.
The SOSA principle
The question is not how many floors your villa has. It is how many volumes it has - and if air can get upstairs without a door being opened, you already own the distribution system.
One machine and reeds is Rs 15,744. Two machines and reeds is Rs 27,743. The ducted Aangan is Rs 25,999 and reaches every room the ducts serve.

The SOSA home edit

Whatever the house looks like, the logic is the same: one scent, sized to the volume that is genuinely connected, running on a schedule so nobody in the family has to remember it. A single bedroom or a guest bathroom is happy on reeds with no power at all; the living room you actually live in wants a machine; the whole villa with central air-conditioning wants the ducts doing the work. Every SOSA system is made in India, cruelty-free and vegan, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali. Here is where each one belongs.

Honest notes before you buy anything. Coverage ratings assume connected air volume. A machine cannot push scent through a closed bedroom door, and it never will - so a partitioned villa is not one scenting problem but several, and honest sizing means saying so out loud rather than selling you one machine and hoping. Scent the volume that is genuinely open to itself, then give the closed rooms their own quiet answer, usually a reed diffuser. Fragrance never substitutes for ventilation or cleaning. If a room smells damp, stale or of last night's cooking, open it, air it and clean it first; scent added on top of that only makes a more complicated bad smell. A home is not a lobby you pass through. Households include children, elderly parents, pregnant family members and pets, all of whom breathe this air far longer than any visitor does, which is why gentle dosing is the default at home and why the settings we suggest are lower than the machine can run. Anyone in the house reporting a headache is a recalibration signal, not a complaint to argue with - turn it down or turn it off, and tell us. The Vaayu runs waterless nebulising oil and comes with the four hotel-inspired blends; the Hotel Collection bottle is water-based and belongs in the ultrasonic machines only. The two formats are not interchangeable. SOSA blends are SOSA's own hotel-inspired interpretations; SOSA is an independent Indian fragrance house, not affiliated with or endorsed by any hotel brand. ISIPCA
Versailles
A note from Sonal

There is a difference between a room that smells nice and a home that has a signature, and almost nobody is told what it is. A room that smells nice is an event: you light a candle, you spray something in the hallway before people arrive, it is lovely for forty minutes and then it is gone. Somewhere else in the house a bathroom gel is doing one thing, a kitchen spray another, and a bedroom reed a third. Four pleasant smells in four rooms is not a fragranced home. It is four rooms.

A signature is the opposite. It is one scent, sized to the house, running on a schedule - so it is already in the air when someone walks through your front door, and already there at eleven at night when you come home yourself, and nobody has lifted a finger to make it happen. That is the whole trick the great hotels use, and it is not complicated: they do not chase smells room by room, they hold one fragrance across the volume people actually move through. In a villa that usually means the entrance, the living room and the dining as one connected space, with the closed rooms handled separately and quietly.

I trained at ISIPCA in Versailles and I have sized this for houses across India, and I would rather tell you honestly that your layout needs two answers than sell you one machine that disappoints you. Message us on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531 with your home's approximate size, the number of floors and a line about the layout - open plan, closed rooms, central air-conditioning or split units - and we will give you a free sizing recommendation. I read those descriptions myself. Everything is made in India, cruelty-free and vegan, and a part of every order funds girl-child education through Nanhi Kali. Your home gets a memory; a girl gets a classroom.

Frequently asked questions

We already own one Vaayu and the upstairs feels thin. Should the second one go on the landing?
Not until the free checks are done, because a machine on the landing is the most expensive way to find out the problem was somewhere else. Work through four things in order. Height: if the existing unit is on a high shelf or a cabinet top, bring it down to console height, because a high unit scents the ceiling beside it rather than entering the stair current. Draught: if a split air-conditioner is blowing across it, move it out of the throw line, which is the commonest single cause of a dead landing. Schedule: if the evening block starts when people walk in, move the start into the mid-afternoon, since convection is slow and the landing always lags the hall. Position: bring the unit within a few metres of the bottom step and inside the connected volume. If all four are right and the landing still gets nothing, look for a door at the top of the stairs, which is the one cause hardware cannot fix from below. Only then is a second unit a real conversation, and at that point it is worth pricing the ducted Aangan at Rs 25,999 against two machines at Rs 23,998.
Our parents live on the ground floor and we live upstairs. Does that justify two machines?
It is one of the two cases where it genuinely can, and the deciding factor is the layout rather than the arrangement. Two separately lived-on floors want two different schedules, and often two different registers, and one machine cannot hold both, so the case for a second unit is real in principle. What decides it in practice is whether the upper floor has a connected volume of its own worth Rs 11,999 - a landing, a passage and a lounge or family room sharing air with each other. If it does, the second Vaayu earns its price and the house comes to Rs 23,998. If the upper floor is a corridor with bedrooms off it, do not buy a machine for a corridor: a Megh 6L at Rs 3,499 in the room the family actually sits in, plus reeds at Rs 749 in the bedrooms, does more for less. And if the stairwell between the two floors is open rather than doored, the two floors are one volume and running two machines in it will make the house less even, not more.
Is it cheaper to run one machine harder than to buy a second one?
It is cheaper and it is the wrong thing to do, so we recommend against it. Raising the intensity to force something onto a floor the air is not reaching overdoses the rooms where people actually sit for hours, and a household breathes this air rather than passing through it: children, elderly parents, sometimes someone pregnant, and pets are all in that room for the whole evening. The correct target does not change with the size of the house. It is a level where somebody walking in reads the house as welcoming without being able to name a note, and anyone in the family reporting a headache is a recalibration signal to turn it down rather than a tolerance to build. If a space genuinely receives nothing, give it its own small answer instead: a reed at Rs 749, a Boond at Rs 899 or a Megh at Rs 3,499 costs far less than the comfort you would otherwise be spending, and it works where the machine cannot reach.
If we buy two machines, should they run the same fragrance?
The same register family, yes, and ideally the same blend, because the whole point of a signature is that the house smells like one house. Where two units serve two genuinely separate volumes with a threshold between them, matching them means the door at the top of the stairs is a change of depth rather than a change of subject, which is what a well-scented home feels like. Where the two floors are lived on separately by different people, a different register upstairs is a reasonable choice to respect rather than a mistake, provided the two spaces really are sealed from each other; two registers meeting in a shared stairwell is exactly what makes a house smell confused. The Vaayu arrives with four hotel-inspired waterless blends in the box, chosen as one of three bundles at purchase, so a household can audition directions properly in its own rooms before deciding. Why is the ducted Aangan not simply the answer for everybody at Rs 25,999?
Because it needs something most Indian villas do not have. The Aangan nebulises into the airflow of a genuine central or ducted air-conditioning system, which is how it reaches every floor and every room the ducts serve, doors shut included, across approximately 8,000 to 10,000 sq ft; the Meenar at Rs 38,500 does approximately 12,000 to 18,000. If your house runs on split units in each room, which is the far more common arrangement, there is no shared airflow to nebulise into and the ducted route simply is not available to you. That is not small print we would rather you discovered after ordering. It also has to be installed into the ductwork rather than plugged in and placed, which is a different kind of decision from putting a machine on a console. For a villa on splits, the honest ladder is one Vaayu at Rs 11,999 on the connected volume and a small answer for each sealed space, and if you are unsure what your house has, describe the air-conditioning to us on WhatsApp and we will tell you plainly.

Facts verified August 2026: The SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) is a waterless cold-air nebulising machine covering approximately 1000m³, with Bluetooth app and timer scheduling. It ships with four hotel-inspired waterless blends included in the box, chosen as one of three bundles at purchase: Bundle A - Ritz-Carlton Inspired, Westin Inspired, St. Regis Inspired, 1 Hotels Inspired; Bundle B - Westin Inspired, Shangri-La Inspired, Four Seasons Inspired, Ritz-Carlton Inspired; Bundle C - St. Regis Inspired, W Hotels Inspired, 1 Hotels Inspired, Four Seasons Inspired. Format distinction: the Vaayu and the HVAC systems run waterless nebulising oil, while the separate SOSA Hotel Collection fragrance (15ml ₹299) is water-based and runs in the ultrasonic machines only - Boond (₹899), Sukoon (₹1,899) and Megh (₹3,499). The two fragrance formats are not interchangeable, and the Hotel Collection bottle does not go into a Vaayu. SOSA Aangan (₹25,999) and SOSA Meenar (₹38,500) are HVAC nebulising systems for approximately 8,000-10,000 sq ft and 12,000-18,000 sq ft respectively, ducted into central air-conditioning. Reed diffusers need no power and make no noise: Morning Freshness ₹749, Garden Bloom ₹799, Evening Calm ₹799, Mountain Breeze ₹849, Fresh Brew ₹849; 130ml from ₹1,249; duo sets ₹1,498, ₹1,548 and ₹1,598. Scent perception is personal and varies between people in the same room, and coverage figures assume connected air volume rather than a partitioned floor plan. Ventilation, cleaning and air-conditioning come first; fragrance is an addition to a well-kept home and never a substitute for any of them. SOSA blends are SOSA's own hotel-inspired interpretations; SOSA is an independent Indian fragrance house and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any hotel brand. Made in India, cruelty-free and vegan. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali. Ongoing fragrance supply is arranged with SOSA on WhatsApp: +91 96192 18531.
