SOSA SukoonThe actual fix when reach, not duration, is the problemView ₹1,899
Won't a bigger bottle or a refill fix it? No. Even the 300ml and 500ml oil refills are a duration decision, not a reach one. A useful real-world proof: SOSA Megh, a 6-litre ultrasonic machine, covers about 215 sq ft - less floor than the smaller SOSA Sukoon - because reservoir size and reach are simply different variables.
What actually extends reach? More exposed reed surface (more reeds, or flipping them more often), better placement in the airflow, or moving to an active machine like a Sukoon or Vaayu, which drives air rather than relying on passive diffusion.
Compare the two SOSA reed sizes directly. Morning Freshness at 50ml, ₹749, and at 130ml, ₹1,249, use the same six fibre reeds and the same base composition. The difference between them is entirely about duration - 6-8 weeks against 14-18 weeks - because the larger bottle simply holds more liquid for those same reeds to draw from over a longer period. Neither bottle throws scent one centimetre further than the other on day one, because the reeds, not the reservoir, are doing the diffusing. The same logic applies to the 300ml and 500ml oil refills: bigger container, longer interval between changes, identical reach.
There's a cleaner proof of this than reeds, and it comes from SOSA's own machine range. SOSA Megh is a 6-litre ultrasonic diffuser - a genuinely large reservoir by any comparison - and it is rated to cover about 215 sq ft. The much smaller SOSA Sukoon covers 270-320 sq ft from a reservoir a fraction of that size. If reservoir size determined reach, the relationship would run the other way. It doesn't, because Megh is built as a runtime machine - a large tank that runs a long time between refills - while Sukoon is tuned for coverage. Reservoir size buys time between refills. Coverage is a separate engineering decision entirely, and conflating the two is the single most common mistake behind the 'my reed doesn't reach' complaint.
So what actually changes reach? Three things, roughly in order of how cheap they are to try. First, exposed surface area: flipping the reeds more often refreshes the evaporating surface, and in some cases adding a second small vessel at a second point does more than doubling the liquid in one bottle ever could. Second, placement and airflow: a reed near a doorway, an AC supply vent or a ceiling fan reaches further because moving air carries evaporated fragrance rather than letting it sit in a static pocket around the bottle - which is also why a corridor plan with two points beats one stronger bottle at a single point. Third, and only once the first two have genuinely been tried, an active machine like a Sukoon or Vaayu drives air mechanically rather than relying on passive evaporation, which is a real, different mechanism and the honest reason it reaches further than any reed can. That's a machine decision, made on its own merits, not a reed you've simply outgrown by buying the wrong size the first time. Ask for a clinic scenting plan and tell us the actual distance between where it works and where it stops; we'll tell you honestly whether that's a placement fix or a genuine machine decision.
What actually changes reach
Not a bigger bottle. Here is what genuinely moves the needle, in the order it's worth trying.
The three things people confuse with reach
None of these three is actually the reach lever, though all three feel like they should be.
Reach, worked through by product
Every SOSA product, and what actually determines how far it reaches.
| Product | What sets its reach | What its size actually buys |
|---|---|---|
| Morning Freshness reed | Exposed reed surface area and airflow | 50ml vs 130ml changes duration (6-8 vs 14-18 weeks), not reach |
| Reed oil refills (300ml / 500ml) | The reeds and glass they're poured into, not the refill bottle | A longer interval between top-ups, nothing more |
| SOSA Megh (6L reservoir) | Ultrasonic output tuned for runtime, rated to about 215 sq ft | A long interval between refills - it covers less floor than the smaller Sukoon |
| SOSA Sukoon | Ultrasonic output tuned for coverage, rated to 270-320 sq ft | An off switch and a genuinely wider reach than any reed |
The same overlap-and-gradient physics, applied to machines instead of reeds, is worked through in one scent machine or multiple fragrance zones for a large clinic, and placement near AC supply and return vents is covered in how does AC airflow affect fragrance distribution. SOSA makes no claim that scenting affects bookings, retention or spend.

Someone once returned a 130ml bottle asking for a refund, convinced it was faulty because it "didn't reach any further" than the 50ml one they'd tried first. Both were the exact same reeds in the exact same glass, just with more liquid in the larger one. There was nothing to refund and nothing broken - the bottle had simply never been capable of the thing they expected it to do.
I explained it the way I've explained it in this piece: reach comes from the reeds, not the reservoir. They asked, reasonably, why we even sell a 130ml size if it doesn't reach further. Because it lasts longer - fourteen to eighteen weeks instead of six to eight - which is worth paying for on its own, just not for the reason they'd assumed. Once they understood that, the actual fix was simple: move the bottle from a shelf behind the desk into the doorway's airflow, and it reached the waiting area within a day.

Frequently asked questions
Facts verified 5 September 2026 against the live SOSA product pages: the SOSA reed diffusers are alcohol-free, phthalate-free and paraben-free compositions on a heat-stable coconut-derived base, supplied in a refillable glass bottle with six fibre reeds, flipped weekly, with 50ml lasting 6-8 weeks and 130ml lasting 14-18 weeks, tested at 45°C and 85% relative humidity - Morning Freshness ₹749 / ₹1,249, Mountain Breeze ₹849 / ₹1,349. The SOSA Sukoon (₹1,899) is an ultrasonic cool-mist diffuser covering about 270-320 sq ft for 16-18 hours on the low setting and supplied with three 15ml Hotel Collection fragrances; being ultrasonic, it works by aerosolising water and therefore adds some moisture to the air. The SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) is a waterless cold-air nebuliser rated to 1000m³, described by the manufacturer as approximately 2,000-3,000 sq ft, with a 400ml refillable tank lasting up to about 75 days depending on intensity and run hours, Bluetooth app and onboard button control, 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, adjustable intensity, operation under 38dB, DC 12V/1A at 5W (roughly 1.5 units of electricity a month on a ten-hour daily schedule), freestanding or wall and HVAC mounting, auto-stop and key-lock, and CE, RoHS and SGS certification - which are electrical and compliance marks, not medical approval. Being waterless, it adds no moisture and leaves no residue on surfaces or equipment; refill availability should be confirmed with SOSA. The SOSA Megh (₹3,499) is a 6-litre ultrasonic diffuser rated to approximately 215 sq ft; being a larger reservoir, it extends run time between refills rather than the distance the fragrance is carried, and it covers less floor area than the smaller Sukoon. The SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) is an HVAC nebulising diffuser rated to 3,000m³, roughly 8,000-10,000 sq ft, with an 800ml reservoir and operation under 42dB. SOSA products are not medical devices and no health, therapeutic or wellbeing claim is made or implied anywhere in this guide; ambient scent is an interior and hospitality decision that works alongside cleaning, laundry, ventilation and hygiene protocol and is never a substitute for any of them.
