Honest notes before you spend anything. A reed diffuser is passive, and its scent is strongest at the bottle. There is a difference between a fragrance being good and a fragrance reaching you, and almost nobody is told what it is. When someone writes to me and says the reed diffuser smells wonderful up close but they cannot smell it from the bed, my first answer is always the same: nothing is wrong, and you did not buy the wrong thing. A reed diffuser is a passive object. It holds oil, the reeds draw it up, the room's warmth and air take it away at their own pace. It has no way of carrying scent to you, and it was never built to.
So the real question is not which fragrance is stronger. It is which job you want done. If you want a quiet, pleasant presence in the corner of a bathroom or beside a bed, a reed is still the most elegant thing I sell, and I would rather you kept it than replaced it. No, and we would be inventing a number if we gave you one. What changes with size is not whether the reed works but how much of the room gets to enjoy it, and that also depends on the ceiling, the ventilation, the temperature and where you actually sit. A reed on a side table in a large living room is not pointless: everyone who passes it gets a moment of fragrance, and the person on the nearest sofa gets it continuously. What is pointless is expecting that same bottle to make the far corner smell of anything. So the useful question is not how big is too big, but where in this room do I want the fragrance to be. If the answer is a particular chair, table or bedside, a reed is a fine and elegant answer at any room size. If the answer is everywhere, no room size makes a passive bottle the right tool.
Would sealing the room and switching off the fan make a reed feel powerful?
It moves you in that direction and it will not get you all the way, and there are limits worth respecting before you try. Closing the door and window and turning the fan off does let concentration build, so you will notice a real improvement over a week, especially in a modest bedroom. What has not changed is the volume, and a 48 cubic metre room sealed shut still holds nearly five times the air of a small powder room. There is also a more important point: a bedroom is a room you sleep in, and ventilation, airing and cleaning come before fragrance every time. We would never advise keeping a room closed for the sake of a scent. Improve what placement and habit can improve, then decide whether the remaining gap is worth an active machine rather than a sealed room.
Does the number of reeds change whether it feels powerful?
It changes the intensity next to the bottle and nothing about the reach, which is the distinction that saves people money. Every stick you add is another path for oil to climb, so evaporation goes up, the air in that corner gets stronger and the bottle runs down faster than the usual six to ten weeks. What no stick count provides is any force to carry fragrance across a room, because a reed diffuser has no mechanism for pushing. So in a small enclosed room extra sticks genuinely raise the whole room's level, since the whole room is the corner. In a large room they raise one corner and shorten your bottle's life. Use sticks as a volume dial for a small space, dial them down if a guest finds it heavy, and do not use them as a distance dial, because there is no such thing.

There is no published data comparing throw, longevity or intensity across our fragrances, and in practice what you perceive is set by the room's volume, the air movement and how close you sit far more than by the blend. Is the SOSA Safar a whole-room machine, since it is active?
No, and we are careful about this because it would be easy to overclaim. The Safar at Rs 3,999 is active, waterless, cordless and rechargeable, and it diffuses pure undiluted oil by cold diffusion with no water and no white dust, which gives it genuinely strong near-field projection. But there is no published square-foot or cubic-metre coverage rating for it anywhere, so we do not state one and neither should anybody else. SOSA's own copy lists it as best for a car, a handbag, a work desk, a bedside, hotel and travel and working from home, which describes exactly what it is: a personal-space diffuser for the space you occupy. If you want one fragrance held evenly across a large or open-plan area, that is the Vaayu at Rs 11,999, and for a single ordinary bedroom an ultrasonic from Rs 899 does the job for less.
