A large rehabilitation centre once asked me to scent their public-facing wing while keeping their clinical wing completely neutral, and showed me a beautifully drawn floor plan with a dotted line down the middle marked 'fragrance boundary'. When we walked the building, that dotted line ran straight through a set of double doors that were propped open for wheelchair access all day.
The line on the plan was correct. The building simply wasn't built to honour it.
