Count closed air spaces, not square feet. An 800 sq ft flat is usually three: the living and kitchen zone, and two bedrooms with doors. Buy one source per space you shut.
The Sukoon's real advantage is control, not coverage. Remote, steady, 2H and 4H timers, 16–18 hours on low, three 15ml Hotel Collection fragrances in the box. If you want a room scented for an hour in the evening and off the rest of the time, that is its job and it does it well.
In a rental, the socket matters. A machine needs a plug point, counter space, filling and emptying. A reed bottle needs a tray and a weekly flip, and moves rooms in one hand.
2. Because 800 sq ft is not one air space. It is a living-and-kitchen zone plus two bedrooms with doors that close. Fragrance does not travel through a shut door, so the count that matters is doors, not floor area. Buy one source per space you actually close.
3. A Sukoon's 270–320 sq ft is one room, while it runs. That figure is real and it is generous for a machine at ₹1,899. It is not a figure for a flat. Put it in the living room and the two bedrooms have nothing; move it and the living room has nothing.
4. Reeds work while you are out. No switch, no socket, no timer — which sounds like a limitation and is the format's main advantage in a flat you leave at nine and return to at eight. A machine on a 4H timer is off by the time you are home.
5. Rentals push the same way. Three glass bottles need three trays and a weekly flip. A machine needs a spare plug point, a surface, filling, tank cleaning, and packing when you move.
6. Buy the machine instead if you want a switch. Remote, steady, 2H and 4H timers, 16–18 hours on low, three 15ml Hotel Collection fragrances included. If your honest want is "the living room scented for an hour when people come over, and nothing otherwise", the Sukoon at ₹1,899 is the correct purchase and three bottles are the wrong one.
7. Do not buy a Megh at ₹3,499 to solve this. Six litres and roughly 100 hours of runtime, but only about 215 sq ft — less than a Sukoon. It is a runtime and humidity machine, never a coverage upgrade, and it is the most expensive way to get the least of what you asked for.
Everything is composed and handmade in small batches in Pune, tested through 45°C summer heat and 85% monsoon humidity, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
Part one — 800 sq ft is three air spaces, not one
The reason a coverage figure never settles this argument is that coverage figures describe rooms and you are furnishing a flat. Three things decide how many sources you need, and floor area is the least useful of them.
Evening Calm₹799 · 50mlA 130ml bottle at ₹1,249–₹1,349 holds nearly three times the oil of a 50ml, runs 14–18 weeks instead of 6–8 and — at the same six reeds — puts out exactly the same per hour. Size is the duration control. Reeds are the volume control. Neither is a reach control. The way to cover more of a flat has never been a larger vessel; it is another source in another room. That arithmetic is why three 50ml bottles at ₹2,347 do something no single purchase at any price on our store can do, and why I will not sell a 130ml as an upgrade for a bigger flat.Part two — the two formats, job by job
Nine things people want from home fragrance in a rented flat, and which purchase delivers each.
| What you want | One Sukoon ₹1,899 | Three 50ml bottles ₹2,347 | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|
| Three rooms scented at the same time ★ | Cannot — one room at a time, 270–320 sq ft | Yes, that is exactly what it is | Bottles |
| Something in the flat when you walk in at eight | Only if it was left running while you were out | Always, with no decision required | Bottles |
| Scent for one hour, then nothing | Steady, 2H and 4H timers, remote, off when you want | No — passive and constant is the whole design | Sukoon |
| A big open living zone filled quickly | Better while running; a fan behind the mist covers ground | Slower and lower; that is the format, not a fault | Sukoon |
| No plug point spared, and none free in a rental | Needs a socket and a surface near it | Needs a tray and nothing else | Bottles |
| Adding no water to the air | Adds moisture — aerosolising water is how it works | Adds none at all; it also removes none | Bottles |
| Least effort week to week | Filling, emptying, tank cleaning, deciding when to run it | One flip a week with gloves | Bottles |
| Different scents in different rooms | One machine, one fragrance at a time | Three bottles, three compositions, one per door | Bottles |
| Lowest first spend | ₹1,899, and three fragrances in the box | ₹2,347 — or ₹1,548 for two rooms, or ₹749 for one | Sukoon, narrowly |
| The honest caveat: the Sukoon wins three of these nine and they are not trivial ones — control, a fast fill of a big room, and the lower ticket. If those three are what you came for, buy it and ignore the rest of this page. Neither format removes any smell that is already in your flat; both add a scent alongside it. And a great many homes end up running both, which is a reasonable outcome rather than a contradiction. | |||

Part three — when the machine is the right purchase
I have argued against the Sukoon at length and would like to argue the other side properly, because for some readers it is plainly the better buy. The trigger is control, not coverage. If what you want is the living room scented for an hour when people come round, or a different fragrance on a whim, a bottle cannot give you any of it — a reed diffuser is passive, constant and low by design, with no dial and no off. The Sukoon at ₹1,899 has a remote, steady, 2H and 4H timers, 16–18 hours on low from a 500ml tank and three 15ml Hotel Collection fragrances in the box. Buy it for those things and it will not disappoint you.
Two honest notes about it. It delivers fragrance by aerosolising water, so it adds moisture to the room it stands in — how the format works, not a defect. And the water-based Hotel Collection fragrance it runs on is a separate line from reed oil: 15ml ₹299, 100ml ₹999, 300ml ₹1,799. Reed oil never goes into a machine and Hotel Collection never goes into a reed bottle. If you buy the Sukoon, budget for fragrance beyond the three included bottles.
There is also a version of this question where the answer is neither. If you live alone and are only ever in one room at a time, the honest plan is one bottle you move deliberately rather than three running at once — a ₹749 purchase covering the room you are in. And if any part of the flat has a smell you are trying to deal with rather than a room you want scented, no purchase here is the answer: find the source, ventilate or extract, add fragrance afterwards. Both formats add a scent alongside what is already in the air; neither removes, neutralises or purifies anything, and SOSA sells no air purifier.
Part four — your flat, costed both ways
Six ways an 800 sq ft rental gets lived in, with the arithmetic shown. Two cost less than the ₹1,899 you were considering.
| How the flat is actually used | What I would buy | The arithmetic | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| Living zone plus two bedrooms, all three used daily ★ | Three 50ml bottles, one per closed space | ₹749 + ₹799 + ₹799 = ₹2,347 | Three rooms at once, continuously, no socket, nothing to leave behind |
| Second bedroom is storage and stays shut | Two 50ml bottles — the Day & Night duo does exactly this | ₹1,498 for 2 × 50ml | Cheaper than the machine, and it is two spaces rather than one |
| You want the living room scented on demand, bedroom always | One Sukoon for the living zone plus one 50ml for the bedroom | ₹1,899 + ₹749 = ₹2,648 | Control where you entertain, constant where you sleep. Two jobs, two tools |
| You would rather refill twice a year than every two months | Three 130ml bottles instead of three 50ml | ₹1,249 + ₹1,299 + ₹1,299 = ₹3,847 | 14–18 weeks each rather than 6–8, at identical projection |
| You live alone and use one room at a time | One 50ml, moved deliberately between rooms | ₹749 | Three sources for one person is spending for an empty flat |
| You were looking at the 6L Megh for the runtime | Not that. Three bottles, or a Sukoon if you want the timer | ₹3,499 buys ~215 sq ft — less than a Sukoon's 270–320 | A runtime and humidity machine, never a coverage upgrade |
Versailles
We put a coverage figure on every machine because buyers ask for one, and I have watched that number do more harm than good. 270–320 sq ft describes a room, and almost nobody lives in a room. They live in a flat with doors, and a figure that sounds like half of 800 sq ft covers none of the half behind a shut door.
The honest framing is uncomfortable for a shop, because it usually means the correct answer costs a little more than the single purchase somebody had in mind. Three bottles at ₹2,347 against one machine at ₹1,899 is not the comparison anyone wants to be handed. It is the true one, and the alternative is a customer who spends ₹1,899 and finds two of their three rooms unchanged.
Where I will happily be argued with is control. If somebody tells me they want their living room to smell of something for an hour on a Saturday and of nothing on a Tuesday, I will sell them the Sukoon and mean it. What I will not do is sell it as a way of covering a flat, or sell the six-litre machine to anyone who has told me coverage is what they are after. Made in small batches in Pune, and a part of every order funds a girl's classroom through Nanhi Kali.

A reed diffuser adds fragrance to a room. It does not clean, purify or filter air, remove or neutralise cooking, damp or smoke smells, reduce humidity, or change how anyone feels. A reed diffuser adds no moisture to the air; ultrasonic machines work by aerosolising water and therefore do. A persistent musty smell indicates moisture that needs finding and drying, and SOSA sells no dehumidifier or air purifier. Ventilate or extract first; add fragrance second. Evaporation rate rises with warmth and falls with humidity, and airflow carries scent away from the bottle — so performance varies with season, ventilation, ceiling height and room use; longevity figures are typical ranges, not guarantees. Not noticing a constant fragrance is ordinary olfactory adaptation; the reliable checks are leaving the room and returning, or asking someone who has just arrived. Strength figures are positions on SOSA’s own internal scale, not an industry standard. Fragrance oil is flammable — keep bottles away from open flame and out of direct sunlight, and out of reach of children and pets.
