The rule: a 2BHK's natural ceiling is three fragrance registers — one for the living zone, one shared or paired across the two bedrooms, one for the bathroom(s) — spread across four bottles, not four fragrances.
2. The more coherent version repeats a scent instead of adding one. Keep Garden Bloom 130ml ₹1,299 in the living zone and Morning Freshness 50ml ₹749 in the bathroom, but put Evening Calm 50ml ₹799 in both bedrooms rather than introducing Mountain Breeze to the second one. Four bottles, three scents, ₹3,646 — fifty rupees less than the four-scent kit, and it reads as one decision rather than four.
3. The choice between them comes down to one question: does the second bedroom belong to someone with their own taste? If it is a guest room, a home office that doubles as a spare room, or a second child sharing the same general sensibility as the rest of the flat, repeat Evening Calm. If it is a teenager, an adult sibling, or anyone who has ever said "I don't like lavender," Mountain Breeze earns its ₹50 premium — it sits far enough from Evening Calm on the register (pine-sage-cedar against lavender-chamomile) that the two do not fight across a landing.
4. Two full alternative three-scent kits exist if Garden Bloom and Evening Calm are not your household's taste. A cool-modern flat can run Mountain Breeze 130ml in the living zone with Evening Calm doubled across both bedrooms — also ₹3,696. A warm-winter flat can run Fresh Brew 130ml in the living zone with Garden Bloom doubled across both bedrooms — also ₹3,696. Both are covered in full below, with the one hard constraint: Fresh Brew leads a living room and never sleeps in a bedroom.
5. Whichever kit you pick, the wet room is never in question. One bathroom takes Morning Freshness at ₹749. Two bathrooms take the same bottle twice — never two different citrus scents — which brings the flat to ₹4,445 and means a single refill restocks both.

Why three registers is the natural ceiling in a 2BHK
A reed diffuser has no fan and no mist. It scents the air immediately around itself and nowhere past a closed door — the doctrine holds in a 2BHK exactly as it does in a 1BHK. What changes with the second bedroom is not the physics, it is the arithmetic of taste. A 1BHK has one bedroom, so its scent choice is a private matter with no risk of clashing against a sibling room. A 2BHK has two, and unless the flat is large enough that the bedrooms never share a passage of air, those two rooms are going to be smelled in the same breath at some point — a parent walking past an open door, a guest using the passage bathroom, the AC pulling air between rooms overnight.
This is why the cluster's ceiling for a 2BHK is three fragrance registers, not four, even though it is a four-bottle home. One register leads the living-dining zone, because that is the room a guest smells first and the room that has to carry the whole flat's first impression. One register — often one bottle repeated, sometimes two adjacent ones — covers both bedrooms, because bedrooms are private but not sealed from each other in memory the way a living room and a bathroom are. One register, always the same one, covers the bathroom or bathrooms, because a wet room's job is cleanliness signalling, not personality, and consistency there does more work than variety.
The mistake I see specifically in 2BHKs — not in 1BHKs, where there is only one bedroom to get wrong — is treating "four rooms" as an instruction to buy "four fragrances," as though variety were itself the goal. It is not. A home is judged as one experience walked through, not four rooms sniffed in isolation. Four bottles carrying three well-chosen registers reads as a single confident decision. Four bottles carrying four independent decisions reads as four separate shopping trips, because that is usually what it was.
The three decisions behind a 2BHK's four bottles
Garden Bloom 130ml₹1,299The default 2BHK plan is one bottle per stopping point — living-dining, master, second bedroom, bathroom — but only three distinct scents across them, because the two bedrooms share. Garden Bloom leads the living zone at 130ml, Evening Calm is bought twice — once for each bedroom — and Morning Freshness takes the bathroom. Four bottles, three registers, ₹3,646. This is not a compromise version of the four-scent kit; it is the more considered one, and it costs less. The three four-bottle schemes, costed
Below are the three sensible four-bottle, three-scent schemes for a 2BHK, plus the literal four-scent reading for comparison. All four total either ₹3,646 or ₹3,696 — the fifty-rupee spread is the entire cost of choosing between "repeat" and "introduce" for the second bedroom, which tells you the decision is really about coherence, not budget.
| Scheme | Living-dining | Master | Second bedroom | Bathroom | Total |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coherent (3 scents) ★ | Garden Bloom 130ml ₹1,299 | Evening Calm 50ml ₹799 | Evening Calm 50ml ₹799 | Morning Freshness 50ml ₹749 | ₹3,646 |
| Cool-modern | Mountain Breeze 130ml ₹1,349 | Evening Calm 50ml ₹799 | Evening Calm 50ml ₹799 | Morning Freshness 50ml ₹749 | ₹3,696 |
| Warm-winter | Fresh Brew 130ml ₹1,349 | Garden Bloom 50ml ₹799 | Garden Bloom 50ml ₹799 | Morning Freshness 50ml ₹749 | ₹3,696 |
| Literal four-scent kit | Garden Bloom 130ml ₹1,299 | Evening Calm 50ml ₹799 | Mountain Breeze 50ml ₹849 | Morning Freshness 50ml ₹749 | ₹3,696 |
| Note on Fresh Brew: coffee and vanilla is the one register on the range that only leads — it belongs in the living-dining zone and never in a bedroom, where its intensity reads as a café rather than a place to sleep. In the warm-winter scheme it never touches the bedrooms; Garden Bloom does that work instead. | |||||

Reeds, flipping and where each of the four bottles stands
Reed counts do not change because a scent is being repeated. Six reeds in the living-dining zone, three in each bedroom regardless of whether both bedrooms carry the same bottle or two different ones, and two to three in the bathroom. The reed count is a volume control local to each room — it has nothing to do with which register the bottle belongs to. A repeated Evening Calm in the second bedroom runs on exactly the same three reeds as it does in the master, and lasts the same six to eight weeks per 50ml.
Flip every reed saturated-end up every three to five days, in all four bottles. This is the entire maintenance routine and it is identical whether you are running the three-scent or four-scent scheme — the flip is a per-bottle habit, not a per-scent one. Give a newly placed bottle seventy-two hours before judging it; the first evening under-represents what the room will actually smell like once the reeds have fully saturated.
Placement follows the same rules across both bedrooms: bedside table or dresser, about a metre off the floor, out of the AC's direct draught and off the windowsill. If the two bedrooms carry the same scent, there is no reason to place them differently either — consistency in placement reinforces the consistency of the choice. In the bathroom, beside the basin rather than inside the shower zone; with two bathrooms, the same rule applies twice, independently. And, as with any bottle of open oil, keep all four above the reach of children and pets, and off any surface a spill would mark.

This question arrives with its own mistake folded into it more often than any other in the 2BHK set, and I understand why. Four rooms feels like it should mean four choices — it is how we shop for most things, one decision per item. Fragrance does not work that way. A flat is walked through, not inspected room by room with a clipboard, and what a visitor actually registers is whether the whole experience feels considered or assembled.
Four bottles carrying three registers is considered. Four bottles carrying four independent decisions, each made in isolation at four different shelf visits, is assembled — and it shows, at the doorway between two bedrooms, in a way that costs you nothing to avoid and ₹50 to fix by simply buying the same bottle twice.
The one exception I hold to without hesitation is a second bedroom that belongs to someone else's taste — a teenager, a sibling, a long-term guest. That is not decoration asking for its own bottle. That is a person, and a person is always worth the fourth register. Every purchase funds a girl's education through Nanhi Kali — not a percentage, not a quarterly cheque. Every one.
