Should I scent a movement or yoga studio? Very lightly or not at all. It is a high-ventilation room full of exertion, and people breathing hard are the least tolerant audience for any ambient register.
Why do clinic rooms get nothing? Because a consultation room should read as neutral and clinical, and because anything added there is a decision that belongs to the practitioner rather than to the building.
A wellness centre is several businesses sharing a front door
The word centre is doing a great deal of work in this question, and it is the reason a wellness centre cannot be specified the way a spa of the same size can. A 3,000 square foot spa is one business with many rooms. A 3,000 square foot wellness centre is usually several businesses sharing a front door: a treatment wing, a movement studio, one or two clinic or consultation rooms, a retail counter, sometimes a cafe or juice bar, a changing area and back-of-house. Those functions have different audiences, different durations, different ventilation and genuinely different answers, and specifying the building as a single entity is how one of them ends up wrong. So take them in turn. Reception and retail carry the working level, and this is where the identity lives. It is the only space in the building where everybody who visits passes through, whatever they came for, and the only one where they are alert, upright and forming a first impression. A Megh at Rs 3,499 with its 6L tank suits a substantial reception; a Vaayu at Rs 11,999 suits a large open reception or lounge, waterless with no tank at all, coverage up to 1,000 square metres or roughly 10,700 square feet, with Bluetooth app and timer control, which matters in a centre that runs long hours at very different occupancy through the day. A Sukoon at Rs 1,799 suits a compact reception. Treatment rooms take the lowest working level in the building. Each is its own zone, because a machine distributes through connected moving air and cannot cross a shut door, so each needs its own source: a Boond at Rs 799 or a reed at Rs 749 to Rs 849, with reeds suiting small rooms behind doors well because they produce continuously at a low rate rather than cycling. Set them lying on the bed rather than judging from the doorway, since a guest spends an hour nose-down in still air a few inches from a cradle and nobody else in the building is in that posture. The movement studio is the space that most often gets this wrong, and the answer is very little or nothing at all. Three reasons. It is a high-ventilation room by design, often with strong air conditioning and a lot of air movement, so whatever you produce is being cleared continuously and the honest description of a normal setting there is wasted consumable. It is a room full of exertion, and people breathing hard and deeply are the least tolerant audience any ambient register has - what reads as pleasant while sitting reads as too much while working. And the class turns over, so the room is empty, then full of twelve people, then empty again, which is the largest swing in occupancy anywhere in the building and the hardest thing to hold a level against. If you want continuity for a guest walking in from the corridor, a reed at a very low level on a console outside the studio does more than a machine inside it. Clinic and consultation rooms take nothing, and we would hold that line even where an owner wants continuity. A consultation room should read as neutral, plain and clinical, because that is what makes it credible, and a fragranced consultation room reads as a spa room borrowed for a serious conversation. There is also a boundary reason: anything aromatic in a room where a practitioner is working with a client is the practitioner's professional decision and their material, not a building service. It is worth being explicit here, because this is the vertical where the line most needs stating. SOSA ambient fragrance is for the air of a room only. It is never for skin, never in massage oil, never added to masks, facial preparations, treatment preparations or steam preparations, and we make no therapeutic, medical or wellness claims of any kind - not about relaxation, stress, sleep, breathing, recovery, mood or wellbeing - and we would not want a centre to present it to clients in those terms. Our product makes the air of a room pleasant. That is a real thing, worth doing well, and it is all of it. A cafe or juice counter is a register you did not choose and cannot control. Coffee, citrus, spice and warm food are strong, they change through the day, and they will win any argument with an ambient scheme within a few metres. So keep your own low anywhere near it, and do not attempt to run a working level in a space that adjoins food service - the combination reads as a muddle rather than as a layer. If the cafe is behind a door, it is a separate zone and the problem solves itself. If it is open to reception, then reception is a food space and should be specified as one. Corridors run very low or nothing at all. In a centre they are busier than in a spa, because they connect functions rather than just rooms, and they are already receiving studio air, treatment-room air, cafe air and reception air. Adding a working level to a space already carrying four sources is exactly how a building ends up smelling of several things at once. The changing area, if it has showers off it, is wet-adjacent and runs at the lowest working level permanently rather than seasonally, because it is a humid room all year. Back-of-house, laundry, store rooms and staff areas get nothing, and steam rooms, saunas and shower interiors are never scented. On the register, one throughout the scented parts of the building, varied only by level. A guest crosses several thresholds in a visit and a change of register reads as a fault, while a change of level reads as the building quietening. Quiet Luxury, with white tea, bergamot and cedar, is the safest general choice for a mixed-function centre and the one we would recommend most often here, because it works at a working level in reception and at a whisper in a treatment room without changing character. White Tea Serenity, with white tea, aloe and cedar, is the softest we make and suits treatment rooms and wet-adjacent spaces. Forest Suite, with cedarwood, vetiver and green leaves, suits a centre built from stone and warm wood. Tea Garden and Warm Welcome are arrival registers, Old-World Glamour belongs in a dark warm reception at a low level, and Lobby Bar suits large circulation. All seven are Rs 299 for 15ml, Rs 999 for 100ml and Rs 1,799 for 300ml, and machines take the water-based Hotel Collection at three to six drops per tank with a rinse between scents, never reed oil, which can damage them. Reeds give three to four months from a bottle, with refills at Rs 2,399 for 300ml and Rs 3,499 for 500ml, and their output rises with warmth and falls with cold. Finally, the written part, which at this size is not optional. One page listing every zone, its device, its register, its setting and the date it was set; a seasonal line with real dates, since everything comes down through humid months; one named owner for settings and refills; and a monthly walk-in by somebody who does not work in the building, entering from the street at the busiest hour. That last item matters because everybody who works there adapts to a steady background within about an hour and stops perceiving it entirely, which is why staff sincerely report that a scheme has failed when it has not, and why levels ratchet upwards over months when nothing is written down. Anybody who works in a treatment room should have a physical off switch and never have to justify using it. The registers are SOSA's own interpretations and we are independent and not affiliated with, endorsed by or associated with any hotel brand. Everything is alcohol-free and made to IFRA-compliant standards, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali. Volume pricing is quoted against the specification on WhatsApp.
And each of them has a different tolerance
The word centre is doing a great deal of work here, and it is why a wellness centre cannot be specified the way a spa of the same size can. A 3,000 sq ft spa is one business with many rooms; a 3,000 sq ft wellness centre is usually several businesses sharing a front door - a treatment wing, a movement studio, one or two clinic rooms, a retail counter, sometimes a cafe, a changing area and back-of-house - with different audiences, durations and ventilation, and specifying it as one entity is how a function ends up wrong. Treatment rooms take the lowest working level, each its own zone since a machine cannot cross a shut door, with a Boond Rs 799 or a reed from Rs 749, set lying on the bed. The movement studio is where this most often goes wrong, and the answer is very little or nothing: it is a high-ventilation room by design so output is cleared continuously, it is full of exertion and people breathing hard are the least tolerant audience any register has, and it swings from empty to twelve people and back, which is the hardest occupancy in the building to hold a level against. A reed on a console outside the studio does more for continuity than a machine inside it. Our ambient fragrance is for the air of a room only, never for skin, massage oil, masks, facial, treatment or steam preparations, and we make no therapeutic, medical or wellness claims of any kind. A cafe is a register you did not choose and cannot control, so keep yours low nearby and treat an open cafe as making reception a food space. Corridors run very low or nothing, since in a centre they carry studio, treatment, cafe and reception air already. One register throughout varied only by level, and Quiet Luxury is the safest for a mixed-function building because it works at a working level and at a whisper without changing character. Versailles
Most customer gifts are bought to be handed over, not to be kept: the sweet box is finished by the family that evening, the keychain joins a drawer, the branded pen was never really a gift at all. Then the moment that cost your business lakhs to create - the new car, the new home, the big purchase - is remembered with nothing. A fragrance gift keeps that moment alive, because scent is the sense wired closest to memory: months later, your customer is still in the middle of the experience you gave them.
I trained at ISIPCA in Versailles and everything we make is built for Indian lives - car diffusers that survive a Mumbai summer, reed diffusers that hold through the monsoon, alcohol-free formulas safe to gift across every customer profile. If you run a dealership, a project, a hotel, a showroom or a team, message the bulk desk on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531 - tell me the customer moment and the volumes, and I will help you design the programme myself. The business conversations are my favourite kind: one good gifting programme teaches me more about a category than a year of retail orders.
And a part of every order funds girl-child education through Nanhi Kali - so your customer gift quietly gives twice. That equation has always felt right to me.
Frequently asked questions
Facts verified August 2026: Olfactory memory research shows scent-linked memories are unusually durable and emotionally vivid, which is why a used-daily fragrance gift sustains brand association in a way consumable or novelty gifts do not; customer-experience research consistently finds that peak moments (delivery, possession, checkout) disproportionately shape how the whole purchase is remembered. Fragrance preference is personal: volume gifting programmes should default to gentle fresh, green and lightly floral registers, and to space formats (diffusers, reeds, car fragrance) rather than skin perfume. SOSA range: Hotel Collection ultrasonic fragrance from Rs 299; car perfumes from Rs 449 (spray and hanging, alcohol-free); attars Nawaab, Ameeri, Mastani and Adaa from Rs 379 (3ml/6ml/12ml, alcohol-free); Attar Trio from Rs 1,055; perfumes from Rs 499; reed diffusers from Rs 749; Boond Rs 799, Sukoon Rs 1,799 and Megh Rs 3,499 ultrasonic diffusers; SOSA Safar waterless car and travel diffuser Rs 3,999 (rechargeable, three hotel-inspired scents included); SOSA Vaayu waterless scent machine Rs 11,999 (~1000m³, app + timer).
