Somewhere around seven hundred square feet the conversation changes character. Coverage stops being the thing anybody should be arguing about, and what is left on the table is a question about clocks, switches and who is allowed to touch the dial.
Quick answers — read this first
What fragrance setup makes sense for a 750 sq ft diagnostic centre? One source in reception, chosen for control rather than for reach. Subtract first: two collection rooms at about 110 sq ft between them, a processing and bench area at 130, an ECG room at 90, and staff space, store and washroom at 95. Set the 60 sq ft internal corridor aside as a buffer and you are left with roughly 265 sq ft of entrance, reception and seating. At a 3.2m ceiling that is 265 × 3.2 × 0.0929, or about 79 cubic metres - well inside what one reed diffuser holds.

So why would I spend more than ₹749? For a clock, an off switch and a level you can set. A reed runs at one output from the day you open it until the day it is empty. A SOSA Sukoon at ₹1,899 is rated for 270-320 sq ft, which fits this public area almost exactly, and it can be switched off during the heaviest cleaning window or through the busiest collection hour. That is the whole difference. It is not more coverage, and any supplier presenting it that way is selling you the wrong specification.

What is the catch with the Sukoon? It is ultrasonic, which means it adds a little water to the air and needs its tank filled and wiped. In Pune that is a minor chore; in a coastal city during monsoon it is a genuine consideration, and I would rather you used a reed than added moisture to a room that already has too much. It runs 16-18 hours on low, ships with three 15ml fragrances, and takes water-based Hotel Collection oils from ₹299.
The short answer
Short answer: Size it on the public area, not the lease. A 750 sq ft centre usually has around 265 sq ft of entrance, reception and seating once the collection rooms, bench area and ECG room come off, which is about 79 cubic metres at a 3.2m ceiling. A ₹749 reed covers that. The only reason to spend ₹1,899 on a Sukoon is a timer, an off switch and an adjustable level.
The pick: one Morning Freshness reed at ₹749, stepping up to a Sukoon at ₹1,899 only if you want the source on a schedule.
Next step: tell us your ceiling height and your busiest hour and we will tell you which of those two is right for your room - ask for a clinic scenting plan.
Coverage settled, control still open750 on the lease, about 265 sq ft of public air265 sq ft at 3.2m is roughly 79 cubic metres to holdSq ft x ceiling height in metres x 0.0929 = cubic metresA Rs 749 reed holds that. A Rs 1,899 Sukoon adds a clock, not reachUltrasonic means water in the air
The only line here with a decision in it is the fourth, and it is a decision about control rather than about size.
The three machines and where each one starts - tap through for the coverage figures
Straight answer
What should a 750 sq ft diagnostic centre actually buy?
One source in reception, and the choice between a ₹749 bottle and a ₹1,899 machine is about control rather than coverage. Start where every page in this family starts, with the subtraction. On a typical 750 sq ft centre I would expect two collection rooms at roughly 110 sq ft between them, a processing and bench area at about 130, an ECG room at about 90, and staff space, store and washroom at about 95. That is 425 sq ft of working rooms, all of which come off the plan in full rather than at a lighter dose. Set aside another 60 sq ft of internal corridor as a buffer, because a corridor carries whatever drifts along it and gets nothing added, and it should not appear in the volume you are sizing. What is left is roughly 265 sq ft of entrance, reception counter and seating. Now convert it, because a diffuser is rated in cubic metres and a lease is written in square feet: square feet × ceiling height in metres × 0.0929. At 3.2m that is 265 × 3.2 × 0.0929, or about 79 cubic metres. Under a 2.8m false ceiling it is nearer 69. Either number is comfortably inside what one reed diffuser holds, so coverage is settled and there is nothing further to argue about there. What is not settled is control. A reed has one output, from the first day to the last, and it cannot be told to stop. If your centre runs a heavy fasting-sample peak from seven to ten and a housekeeping round at eleven, there are hours when you would rather the source were doing more and hours when you would rather it were doing nothing. That is what a SOSA Sukoon at ₹1,899 buys: an off switch, a level and 16-18 hours of running on low, rated at 270-320 sq ft, which happens to match this public area almost exactly. It is ultrasonic, so it puts a small amount of water into the air and needs its tank filled and wiped, and in a humid coastal city I would think twice about that. If you do not want a clock, buy the Morning Freshness reed at ₹749 and stop reading. Fragrance here is an ambience decision like lighting, seating or signage, it works alongside your ventilation and cleaning rather than instead of them, SOSA products are not medical devices, we make no claim that scenting affects how a centre performs commercially, and the clinician's judgement overrides any scenting plan, including mine.
About 265 sq ft of public air, roughly 79 cubic metres, and a bottle already holds it. Pay ₹1,899 instead of ₹749 only if you want a timer, an off switch and a level you can set.
The default here is one Morning Freshness reed at ₹749. Step up to the SOSA Sukoon at ₹1,899 for the timer and the off switch rather than for reach, and only if there is an hour in your day when you would rather the source stopped.

The machines, and how far above this size they sit

These are on the page for orientation rather than as a recommendation. A 750 sq ft centre with 79 cubic metres of public air is a long way below all three, and the useful comparison at this size is between a bottle and a small ultrasonic.

₹11,999, waterless cold-air nebuliser rated to 1000m³, about 2,000-3,000 sq ft. Worth reading about now if you are planning a larger branch, because the specification decisions it forces - mounting, run windows, key-lock - are the same ones you will face there.

SOSA Vaayu
The waterless alternative, at a size this centre has not reached
SOSA Vaayu Waterless Diffuser
₹11,999, 1000m³ coverage or about 2,000-3,000 sq ft. Nebulises undiluted oil with no water and no heat, 400ml tank lasting 90+ days, 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, adjustable intensity, key-lock, under 38dB, 5W. CE, RoHS and SGS are electrical and compliance marks rather than medical approval. Made in India.

Three questions that decide the format

Not one of these is about how large the room is. At 79 cubic metres that argument is over before it starts.

1
One
Do you need the source to stop?
This is the question that separates the two products, and most owners have never been asked it. There are three moments in a diagnostic day when a source running at full output is a nuisance rather than a benefit: through the heaviest housekeeping round, when residual cleaning volatiles are already high and adding a second strong set produces a character nobody chose; overnight, when there is nobody in the building and the bottle is quietly emptying itself; and during any hour when the room is packed and warm, because a crowded room carries a source further than an empty one. A reed cannot answer any of those. A Sukoon can, and so can a Vaayu at a size far above this one. If none of those three moments bothers you, the bottle is not a compromise, it is the correct specification.
Tip: Write down the three busiest and three quietest hours of your day before you choose. If the list is flat, buy the reed.
SOSA Vaayu
Run windows are the reason this vertical buys hardware at all, and a Vaayu is where they arrive properly. At 79 cubic metres you are buying the idea, not the machine.
See SOSA Vaayu →
2
Two
How much water do you want in the room?
The Sukoon, the Boond and the Megh are all ultrasonic: they break water and fragrance into a fine mist, which means a small amount of moisture goes into the room along with the scent. In a dry inland city through most of the year that is unremarkable. In a coastal centre in monsoon, in a basement unit, or in a room that already smells faintly musty, it is the wrong direction to move in, and I would rather sell you a ₹749 bottle than add to a moisture problem I cannot see. It also brings a routine: the tank needs topping up and wiping, and somebody has to own that job. The waterless alternative starts at ₹11,999, which at this size is not a sensible answer to a tank-cleaning chore.
Tip: If the centre already smells musty on a wet morning, find the damp before you add any source at all, and use a reed in the meantime.
SOSA Vaayu
The Vaayu nebulises undiluted oil with no water at all, which is the reason larger centres full of equipment tend to end up there rather than on an ultrasonic.
See SOSA Vaayu →
3
Three
Who else can reach the dial?
A reed cannot be turned up, which is a limitation and also a form of protection. Anything with a control on it will be adjusted, usually upward, usually by somebody whose nose has adapted after eight hours in the room, and usually on the afternoon when the level seems to have faded. That is how centres end up over-scented without anybody deciding to over-scent them. If your reception is staffed by two people who have been there for years, a Sukoon's dial is fine. If it is staffed by a rota of six, expect drift, name one person who owns the setting, and write the level down somewhere other than in that person's memory. The key-lock on the larger machines exists for exactly this reason, and it is a governance feature rather than a fragrance one.
Tip: Set the level with somebody who has just walked in from the street. The person who has been at the desk since seven is the least reliable judge in the building.
SOSA Vaayu
A key-locked Vaayu is the answer to a rota rather than to a room, which is why it appears in this vertical earlier than its coverage figure suggests.
See SOSA Vaayu →
The SOSA principle
Past a certain small size, every honest upgrade in this category is a purchase of control rather than of reach, and the two get confused because they arrive in the same box.
The clearest sign that a supplier has not sized your room is a recommendation that justifies the bigger product on coverage alone.
SOSA Vaayu
What a schedule looks like when it grows up: 1h, 4h, 8h and 24h windows, chosen days, adjustable intensity and a key-lock - all of it useful, none of it needed at 79 cubic metres.

Coverage or control, side by side

Read the right-hand column and ignore the marketing on both products. At this volume only one of these four lines is a real decision.

The SOSA plan
The 750 sq ft decision, coverage against control
What you want from the source Whether a bottle can do it
Hold 79 cubic metres of reception air at a low level
Yes, easily. A 50ml reed at ₹749 with six fibre reeds runs six to eight weeks; a 130ml at ₹1,249 runs fourteen to eighteen. There is no coverage argument to be had here.
Stop during the housekeeping round
No. A wick cannot be switched off and putting the cap back on twice a day is not a routine anybody sustains. A Sukoon → at ₹1,899 will.
SOSA VaayuRun harder through the 7-10am peak, quieter after
No. Adjustable intensity on a schedule starts at the Sukoon and is properly solved on a Vaayu →, which is several sizes above this floor plan.
Add nothing to the humidity of the room
Yes, and this is where the bottle wins outright. Reeds are alcohol-free on a coconut-derived base and add no water. Every ultrasonic adds a little, which matters in a humid month.

The smaller version of this sum is worked through in how to scent a 500 sq ft pathology centre, the format argument in general is in reed diffuser against professional scent machine, and the point where the floor plan genuinely changes the answer is in a 1,000 sq ft centre with several waiting and testing areas. SOSA makes no health or therapeutic claim of any kind, and no claim that scenting affects how a centre performs commercially.

SOSA Vaayu
Mounted rather than stood on a counter: a wall or HVAC-mounted unit keeps the position you chose and stays out of the cleaning trolley's way, which is a small operational advantage a bottle never offers.
Two numbers decide this: your ceiling and your busiest hour
Send both and we will tell you whether ₹749 or ₹1,899 is the right line on your invoice.
See the SOSA Vaayu Book a scenting plan
Nobody has ever complained to me that their reception was under-covered at seventy-nine cubic metres. They complain that the source cannot be turned off at eleven in the morning, which is a different purchase entirely.

For this centre the specification is a Morning Freshness reed at ₹749, or a Sukoon at ₹1,899 if you want the clock. Fragrance is an ambience decision like lighting or signage, with no health, therapeutic or clinical claim of any kind, and no claim that it affects how a business performs. It works alongside your ventilation, cleaning and laboratory protocol, never instead of them, and SOSA products are not medical devices. Collection rooms, the bench area, the processing area and the ECG room stay unscented, staff must be able to switch the source off in seconds, and the clinician's judgement overrides any plan. A note from Sonal

The 750 sq ft centres are the ones where I have the most honest conversations, because the arithmetic has already removed the interesting part of the decision. There is no reach problem to solve. What is left is a set of operational irritations - the cleaning hour, the empty building at night, the receptionist who thinks it has faded - and those are worth money to some owners and worth nothing to others.

I have started asking a single question at this size: is there an hour in your day when you would like the smell to stop? If the answer comes quickly and with an example attached, the ₹1,899 machine is a reasonable purchase. If the owner has to think about it, they should buy the bottle, because they will not use the timer and the tank will end up being somebody's forgotten chore.

That is the whole page, and it is deliberately not a hardware recommendation. We make no health, therapeutic or clinical claim of any kind, and no claim that scenting affects how a centre performs commercially. Fragrance is an ambience decision, like lighting or seating. Clinical rooms stay unscented, and the clinician's judgement overrides any plan. Made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

Frequently asked questions

Is 750 sq ft big enough to need a scent machine?
Not on coverage. After the collection rooms, bench area, ECG room and back of house come off the plan, a 750 sq ft centre is usually scenting about 265 sq ft, which is roughly 79 cubic metres at a 3.2m ceiling. One reed holds that. The size that changes the answer is nearer 1,500 sq ft of genuinely public, connected air.
What does a Sukoon actually buy me over a reed at this size?
A timer, an off switch and an adjustable level, plus 16-18 hours of running on low. It is rated for 270-320 sq ft, so it matches this public area rather than exceeding it. What it does not buy is more reach, and if a supplier presents ₹1,899 as a coverage upgrade over ₹749 in a room this size, they have not measured the room.
Does an ultrasonic diffuser put too much moisture into a small reception?
Not usually, but it is a fair question in a humid month or a basement unit. Every ultrasonic adds a little water along with the fragrance. If your centre already smells musty after rain, deal with the damp first and use a reed in the meantime, because adding a fine mist to a room that is already holding moisture is the wrong direction.
Should the ECG room be scented if its door is usually open?
No. An open door changes how much drifts in, not whether the room is on the list. A patient in there is partly undressed and attached to equipment, so it is excluded in the same way a collection room is, and the correct response to a door that stays open is to place the source further from it rather than to accept a lighter dose in the room.
Can I run two reeds at opposite ends of the waiting strip?
You can, and at 79 cubic metres you probably should not. Two sources in one connected volume produce two gradients that meet somewhere in the middle rather than a single even level. If one end reads as weak, move the single bottle toward it, or split the six reeds four and two between two bottles and accept that you are managing a gradient rather than removing it.
SOSA Meenar
The far end of the ladder: the Meenar at ₹38,500 is quoted for roughly 12,000-18,000 sq ft of HVAC-connected space, which is about forty-five times the public area this page is sizing.

About this guide: Written by Sonal Sahani, ISIPCA Versailles-trained founder and perfumer at SOSA Home & Body. Product recommendations reflect the SOSA range; the planning advice applies to any brand.

Facts verified 5 September 2026 against the live SOSA product pages: the SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) is a waterless cold-air nebuliser rated to 1000m³, described by the manufacturer as approximately 2,000-3,000 sq ft, with a 400ml refillable tank lasting 90+ days depending on intensity and run hours, Bluetooth app and onboard button control, 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, adjustable intensity, operation under 38dB, DC 12V/1A at 5W (roughly 1.5 units of electricity a month on a ten-hour daily schedule), freestanding or wall and HVAC mounting, auto-stop and key-lock, and CE, RoHS and SGS certification. Being waterless, it adds no moisture and leaves no residue on surfaces or equipment. The SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) is an HVAC nebulising diffuser rated to 3,000m³, roughly 8,000-10,000 sq ft, with an 800ml reservoir, metal body, programmable schedules and operation under 42dB, and also runs standalone wall-mounted or lay-flat. The SOSA Meenar (₹38,500) is the largest machine in the range, quoted for roughly 12,000-18,000 sq ft of HVAC-connected space. Ambient scent is an interior and hospitality decision: it works alongside proper ventilation, cleaning and clinical protocol and is not a substitute for any of them, it is not a medical device, and SOSA makes no health, therapeutic or treatment claim of any kind and no claim that fragrance affects bookings, retention or spend. CE, RoHS and SGS are electrical and compliance marks, not medical approval. The hotel-inspired scents are SOSA's own original interpretations; SOSA is an independent brand and is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any hotel named for reference.
