The mistake with important clients is to send them a larger version of what everybody else receives. Premium should be a different decision, not a bigger one.
Quick answers — read this first
What is a premium Diwali gift for an important business client? Something chosen for them specifically. A boxed Attar Trio at ₹1,055, a Sukoon diffuser at ₹1,899, or SOSA Safar from ₹3,999 for a client who drives.
How much should a premium client gift cost? Commonly ₹1,500 to ₹5,000. Above that, check the recipient's gift policy and be aware of Section 194R, which applies above ₹20,000 a year per recipient.
Should premium clients get something different or just more? Different. A larger version of the standard gift still sits in the same category as everybody else's; a different object reads as a decision.
The short answer
Short answer: Send something different rather than something bigger. A larger standard gift is still the standard gift.
The pick: a chosen object rather than a larger box - Attar Trio ₹1,055, Sukoon ₹1,899 or Safar ₹3,999.
Bulk: quantities, lead times and pricing on WhatsApp +91 96192 18531 - confirm before you commit to a delivery date.
Client gifting at Diwali is a list problem before it is a taste problem. One family of fragrance products at three price tiers lets a hundred clients be gifted well without a hundred separate decisions, and keeps the tiering legible rather than awkward.
What is a premium Diwali gift for an important business client?
Something chosen for that specific person, which is a different decision from the one you made for the rest of the list. The common approach is to scale up: the general list gets a small hamper and the important clients get a large one. That fails for the same reason the small one does. A large hamper is still a hamper, arriving alongside ten others, and the extra spend buys volume in a saturated category rather than distinctiveness. Premium should change the kind of gift, not the size of it.Three moves make a gift read as premium without simply costing more. One: specificity. Something chosen because of something you know about this client, rather than selected for a tier. Two: an object they do not already own. Important clients have the obvious things; the gap is always in categories nobody thinks to send. Three: presentation without dilution, meaning two or three full-size items in one box rather than eight small ones. The picks, by account type.A client you know, who enjoys fragrance: the boxed Attar Trio at ₹1,055, three 3ml attars, or a single Nawaab at ₹399 if you know the register suits them. A client whose office or home you want to improve: a reed duo at ₹1,598 or a Sukoon diffuser at ₹1,899 with Hotel Collection fragrance from ₹299, which is a complete system rather than a machine with nothing in it. A client who drives or travels constantly:SOSA Safar from ₹3,999, a waterless cordless diffuser for cars and travel, which almost nobody buys for themselves. A genuinely major account, and usually with the office in mind: the SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999. One thing to settle before taste: corporate gifting in India has rules. Gifts to government officials and public servants are restricted and are best avoided entirely. Healthcare professionals cannot accept gifts from pharmaceutical, medical device and allied healthcare companies under the applicable marketing and professional conduct codes. Many listed, regulated and multinational companies set their own value limits and disclosure thresholds. On tax, Section 194R of the Income Tax Act brings business benefits and perquisites into scope once the aggregate to one resident recipient passes ₹20,000 in a financial year, and input tax credit is generally blocked on goods given away as gifts. This is general information rather than legal or tax advice, and your finance and compliance teams decide.SOSA makes no claim that a gift affects a client's loyalty, spend, retention or the volume of business they place with you. One line: a bigger hamper is still a hamper. Change the kind, not the size.
Different rather than bigger: the Attar Trio at ₹1,055 or a Sukoon at ₹1,899.
Premium client gifting fails in a predictable way, and understanding it saves a lot of budget.
01
Scaling up does not differentiate
It just costs more
A larger hamper competes in the category that is already saturated, so the extra money buys size rather than attention. The important client is precisely the person receiving the most of everything, which makes escalation the least effective strategy available and the most expensive one.
Tip: The most-gifted person is the worst person to send a bigger gift to.
02
Specificity is what reads as premium
Not price
A gift chosen because of something you know about the client reads as attention; a tier-selected gift reads as a purchase order. A ₹1,055 boxed set chosen deliberately outperforms a ₹5,000 assortment chosen by budget band, and it is the one thing a competitor cannot replicate by spending more.
03
Give a complete thing
Never a machine with nothing in it
If you gift a diffuser, gift the fragrance that runs it, because a device the recipient has to complete is an errand rather than a present. A Sukoon at ₹1,899 with Hotel Collection fragrance from ₹299 is a system; the machine alone undoes the whole gesture at the moment they open it.
Tip: A machine with nothing in it is a task in a nice box.
The SOSA principle
Premium is a different decision, not a bigger one.
The most-gifted client is the worst person to send more of the same to.
The picks by account
For this tier, use whatever you genuinely know about the client, because this is the one tier where specificity is possible.
Your most important client is also the most gifted person you know. Escalation is the worst available strategy.

The SOSA client gifting range
Everything below is alcohol-free and handmade in India. The volume tier is the 12ml car perfume, sold in two forms at the same price: a hanging version with a mild scent throw and a spray with a stronger one. The premium tier is attars and reed diffusers, both of which are used daily and then finished. The VIP tier is the scent machines. Ultrasonic diffusers need water and the water-based Hotel Collection fragrance, which is not reed diffuser oil and is not interchangeable with it. Quantities, lead times and bulk pricing are confirmed on WhatsApp before you commit to a date, because festive volumes are planned rather than picked off a shelf. A note from Sonal
Every October I watch the same thing happen. A business with two hundred clients buys two hundred identical boxes of dry fruit, and every one of those clients receives eleven other boxes of dry fruit in the same fortnight. The gift is not bad. It is simply invisible, because it arrived alongside eleven of itself.
Fragrance works differently for one plain reason: almost nobody else sends it. A hanging car perfume in a client's car is noticed every morning for weeks, and it is the only thing in the pile that is still being used in December. That is the whole argument, and it does not require me to claim anything about loyalty or revenue, which I would not.
Two honest notes. Scent is personal, so for a long client list choose clean and widely liked registers rather than distinctive ones, and keep the distinctive choices for the handful of people you actually know. And please check who you are gifting - government officials, doctors and many large companies sit under rules that decide this before taste does. A part of every order supports girl-child education.
