Two machines will do most of what four machines do in a 3BHK, provided they are in the right two rooms and you are willing to use a door handle. That is the honest version of the budget answer, and it is not a compromise so much as a recognition of where the value actually sits: a fragrance is only worth paying for in the hours you are present to notice it, and in almost every 3BHK those hours pile up in two rooms out of five.
Quick answers — read this first
The two rooms: the connected public zone and the master bedroom. Two Sukoons, ₹3,798.

The cheaper pair: a Sukoon and a Boond — ₹2,798.

What replaces the other machines: door timing, lower doses, better placement, and carrying the second machine into a room the day it matters.
The short answer
Short answer: Buy two. A Sukoon in the connected living-dining zone and a Sukoon in the master bedroom — ₹3,798 — covers the two spaces a 3BHK household spends almost all its waking and sleeping hours in. The remaining rooms are handled with technique rather than hardware.
The pick: Two Sukoons at ₹1,899 each, or a Sukoon plus a Boond at ₹2,798 if the second room is small. Six 15ml Hotel Collection bottles arrive with two Sukoons, so there is no fragrance order on day one.
Do not buy: A machine for the passage in the hope of covering the remaining rooms cheaply. It reaches none of them. If you want a third bedroom to smell of something occasionally, move a machine into it for an afternoon — that is free.
Straight answer
How do you scent a 3BHK with only two diffusers?
1. Pick the public zone and the master. These two hold the overwhelming majority of a household's hours. Two Sukoons at ₹3,798 — one on a console in the seating area, one on a dresser in the master. Everything else is technique.

2. Borrow, using the doors. Open the second and third bedroom doors for twenty minutes while the public-zone machine is running, then shut them. The rooms take a share of the scented air and hold it, because a shut door works in both directions.

3. Move the second machine when it matters. A Sukoon is small and light. Carry it into the guest room the morning visitors arrive, run it for two hours, shut the door, carry it back. That is a fourth machine you did not buy.

4. Spend less fragrance, not more. Three drops in a bedroom rather than six. Lower doses in small sealed rooms smell better and consume half as much, which is the only saving in home fragrance that improves the result at the same time.

5. If you must add a third, make it a Boond. A Boond at ₹899 covers up to 150 sq ft on a six-hour tank — enough for a child's room or a compact guest room. Two Sukoons plus a Boond is ₹4,697, still ₹2,899 under a four-Sukoon setup.

Made in India, composed by an ISIPCA Versailles-trained perfumer — and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
TL;DR: two machines in the public zone and the master — ₹3,798 — cover the rooms that hold nearly all of your hours. Handle the rest with door timing, a portable second machine and lower doses. A Boond at ₹899 is the cheapest honest third.
SOSA Sukoon 500ml ultrasonic cool mist diffuser
Two of these is a whole plan
SOSA Sukoon · 500ml ₹1,899
270–320 sq ft, 16–18 hours a fill on low, remote, and steady / 2H / 4H timers. Light enough to move between rooms when a guest room needs it for an afternoon, which is how two machines end up doing the work of three. Ships with three 15ml Hotel Collection scents — two machines, six bottles.

Where the value actually sits in a 3BHK

Add up where a household really spends its time and the distribution is far more lopsided than the floor plan suggests. The connected public zone takes the evenings, the weekends and every visitor. The master bedroom takes seven or eight hours a night, every night, behind a shut door that holds whatever you put in it. Between them, those two spaces account for the great majority of the hours anybody in the flat is awake or asleep somewhere they might notice a fragrance. The third and fourth spaces — a second bedroom used by someone who is out all day, a study, a guest room — split what is left. Fragrance is a per-hour product, not a per-room one, so two machines placed against the hours rather than against the plan capture most of the available benefit for half the money.

What closes the remaining gap is not more hardware but the fact that a shut door works in both directions. It keeps fragrance out of a room, and it keeps fragrance in one. So a bedroom whose door has been open for twenty minutes while the public-zone machine ran, and is then shut, holds a light version of that scent for hours — genuinely, not theoretically. Add the fact that a Sukoon is small enough to carry and you have a second technique: the machine that lives in the master can spend an afternoon in the guest room before visitors arrive, then go back. Between borrowing and moving, two machines cover four rooms at the intensities each of them actually deserves, which is the point most five-machine plans miss.

The three decisions in a two-machine 3BHK

1
DECISION ONE · WHICH TWO ROOMS
The public zone and the master, in that order
SOSA Sukoon diffuserSOSA Sukoon₹1,899The public zone takes the first Sukoon because it is the largest connected volume, the one with the most occupied hours, and the only one anybody else experiences. The master takes the second because a bedroom with a shut door holds fragrance better than any other room in the flat, so the money goes furthest there. If you can only buy one this month, buy the public-zone machine — it is also the one that feeds the passage and, through the passage, everything else. Two Sukoons is ₹3,798 and six 15ml bottles.
The order: public zone first, master second, and nothing else until both have run for a month.
2
DECISION TWO · HOW THE OTHER ROOMS GET SOMETHING
Borrowing, and a machine that moves
Two habits replace two purchases. The first is borrowing: while the public-zone machine is running in the evening, leave the other bedroom doors open for fifteen or twenty minutes, then close them. Scented air moves in, and the shut door that normally keeps fragrance out now keeps it in. It is a lighter version of the scent, which is exactly right for a room nobody is sitting in. The second is portability: a Sukoon weighs very little, so before guests arrive it can spend two hours in the spare room on the 2H timer and then return to the master. Neither habit is a compromise you will notice; both are free.
The trick: a shut door holds fragrance in as effectively as it keeps it out. Use it in the direction you want.
3
DECISION THREE · WHERE THE SAVING SHOULD GO
Into fragrance and patience, not a third machine
The ₹3,798 setup leaves you roughly ₹1,899 short of the standard three-machine plan and ₹3,798 short of full coverage, and there are better places to put some of that than into another box. A 300ml bottle at ₹1,799 works out around ₹6 a millilitre and will keep two machines running for a long time. The Pack of 7 at ₹1,799 gives you all seven scents in 15ml if you want to find your signature properly. Or spend nothing, run the two machines for two months, and let the flat tell you whether a third room genuinely wants one. If it does, a Boond at ₹899 is usually enough.

Room by room, with two machines

What each part of a 1,200–1,600 sq ft 3BHK gets under a two-machine plan, and what replaces the hardware where there is none. Coverage ratings assume a closed room without a strong draught.

The two-machine 3BHK
Where the machines go, and how the rest is handled
Room What it gets How Cost
Entrance / living / dining ★ Machine one Sukoon on a console in the seating area, 5–6 drops, 4H timer from early evening ₹1,899
Master bedroom ★ Machine two Sukoon on a dresser, 3–4 drops, 2H timer an hour before bed ₹1,899
Second bedroom Borrowed scent Door open twenty minutes while machine one runs, then shut. Or machine two visits for an afternoon ₹0
Third bedroom / guest room A visiting machine Carry a Sukoon in on the morning guests arrive, two hours on the timer, then shut the door ₹0
Study / home office Usually nothing Open the door while machine one runs. A closed study is a place to concentrate, not to notice a scent ₹0
Passage Nothing, by design It takes what the public zone gives it every time somebody walks through ₹0
If you do add a third A Boond, not a Sukoon 150 sq ft and six hours a tank — right for a child's room or a compact guest room ₹899
Note on the saving: two Sukoons at ₹3,798 is ₹3,798 less than a four-machine setup. Put a little of that into a 300ml bottle at ₹1,799 and keep the rest — the machines you did not buy would also have needed filling.

Two machines, and the cheap way to add a third
The SOSA principle
A shut door holds fragrance in as well as it keeps fragrance out. Two machines and a door handle cover four rooms.
Open the bedroom doors for twenty minutes while the living-room machine runs, then close them. That is the whole technique.

Door timing, drops and the schedule that makes two enough

The timing sequence is what turns two machines into a plan. Start the public-zone unit in the early evening on the 4H timer, with the second and third bedroom doors standing open. After fifteen or twenty minutes, shut them — the rooms now hold a light version of the scent and will keep it for hours, because the same door that blocks fragrance also traps it. An hour before bed, start the master unit on 2H at three to four drops. Nothing runs overnight and nothing runs while the flat is empty. The whole routine costs one trip down the passage.

Doses matter more in a two-machine setup than in a four-machine one, because each machine is doing more work and you want it to last. Five to six drops of Hotel Collection per tank in the public zone, three to four in the master, three if the room is small. Three to six drops is the general guidance and the lower end is where a 3BHK usually belongs — a sealed bedroom concentrates far more than an open living area, so matching the two doses is both wasteful and unpleasant. Cutting a bedroom from six drops to three halves consumption and generally improves the room.

Placement then buys you the last of the margin, and it is free. Both machines about a metre off the floor with a foot of clear air around them — a console in the seating area rather than the shelf by the passage mouth, and a dresser two to three feet clear of the bedhead rather than the nightstand. Keep both out of the direct path of a ceiling fan or a split AC, which pins mist against one wall rather than spreading it. Rinse the tank when you change scents, use filtered water in hard-water cities, and never substitute raw essential or carrier oils, which are too viscous to atomise and will foul the misting plate.

The cheapest diffuser in any home is the one you already own, carried into the room that needs it for an afternoon.

What the frugal 3BHK costs

Every route below the standard three-machine plan, itemised with the totals checked. Each Sukoon includes three 15ml fragrances of your choice, so the machine price is the day-one price.

The frugal 3BHK
Five routes, with the real totals
Setup What you get Covers Total
The single machine One Sukoon ₹1,899 — includes 3 × 15ml scents Public zone, and the passage by borrowing ₹1,899
The cheap pair One Sukoon ₹1,899 + one Boond ₹899 Public zone + a small bedroom ₹2,798
The right pair ★ Two Sukoons ₹1,899 × 2 — 6 × 15ml scents Public zone + master, rest by borrowing ₹3,798
Two and a half Two Sukoons ₹3,798 + one Boond ₹899 Public zone + master + one more room ₹4,697
The standard, for comparison Three Sukoons ₹1,899 × 3 Zone + two occupied bedrooms ₹5,697
Honest notes before you buy: the two-machine plan saves ₹3,798 against a four-Sukoon setup and rather more over time, since the machines you did not buy would also have needed filling. Refills are a 100ml from ₹999 or a 300ml at ₹1,799, about ₹6 a millilitre. Do not be tempted by a Megh at ₹3,499 as a way of covering more with fewer machines — it is rated to 215 sq ft, less area than a ₹1,899 Sukoon, and exists for its six-litre tank and 100-hour runtime in one dry room. The Vaayu at ₹11,999 and Aangan at ₹25,999 are waterless commercial machines that run neat oil and cannot use the water-based Hotel Collection at all. These fragrances are ultrasonic and water-based and add a little humidity. The machines (Boond, Sukoon, Megh) are imported from China; the Hotel Collection fragrances are composed and made in India. Keep fragrance away from children and pets. The Hotel Collection scents are SOSA's own interpretations inspired by the world's finest hotels; SOSA is independent and not affiliated with any hotel brand. A note from Sonal

The best-run 3BHK I have visited had two diffusers in it. The owner opened her bedroom doors while the living-room machine ran and shut them twenty minutes later, and the flat smelt more coherent than homes I have seen with five.

There is an assumption underneath the five-machine plan that fragrance is a coverage problem, like lighting. It is not. Lighting has to be present the whole time you are in a room; a scent does its work in the first thirty seconds and then your nose largely stops reporting it. So a room that holds a light borrowed version of the public-zone fragrance is, in the moment that matters — walking in — doing almost the same job as a room with its own machine. That is not a trick. It is how the sense works.

Buy the public-zone Sukoon. Buy the master one a month later. Learn the door habit, keep the bedroom at three drops, and spend ₹1,799 on a 300ml bottle rather than ₹1,899 on a third machine. ₹3,798 will scent a 3BHK better than ₹7,596 spent carelessly, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

Frequently asked questions

Can two diffusers scent a whole 3BHK?
They can cover it well enough that most people would not guess. Put a Sukoon in the connected public zone and one in the master — ₹3,798 — and handle the remaining rooms by opening their doors for twenty minutes while the first machine runs, then shutting them. A shut door holds fragrance in as effectively as it keeps it out.
Which two rooms should I scent in a 3BHK?
The connected living-dining zone and the master bedroom. Those two hold the great majority of the hours anybody in the flat is awake or asleep, and the master has a door that stays shut, which makes fragrance go furthest there. The study, the guest room and the passage all rank far below them.
Is it worth moving a diffuser between rooms?
Yes, and it is the most underrated habit in home fragrance. A Sukoon is light and runs on a 2H timer, so carrying it into a guest room on the morning visitors arrive, running it for two hours and then shutting the door gives that room a proper scent for the evening without a fourth machine.
What is the cheapest way to scent a 3BHK properly?
A Sukoon at ₹1,899 in the public zone plus a Boond at ₹899 in the room you sleep in — ₹2,798, with three 15ml fragrances included in the Sukoon. Two Sukoons at ₹3,798 is the better version if you can stretch to it, because a master bedroom is usually larger than the Boond's 150 sq ft rating.
Will fewer drops make the fragrance too weak?
In a bedroom, almost never. A closed bedroom is a fraction of the volume of a living area, so three drops there produces a higher concentration than six in the public zone. Three to six drops per tank is the general guidance for the Hotel Collection, and a two-machine 3BHK will spend most of its time at the lower end.
