★ The two honest answers at the crossover
✓ Coverage alone never justifies a Vaayu at 1,000 sq ft - the four non-coverage reasons do ✓ Waterless, so the machine adds no moisture to the room and leaves no residue on surfaces ✓ Made in India · independent, not affiliated with any hotel · a portion funds girl-child education

This is the genuine crossover of the whole ladder, and it is the only size where I cannot give you an answer without asking about your building first. The arithmetic still points at the cheap machine. Half the time the building points at the expensive one, and the trick is knowing which half you are in.
Quick answers — read this first
How do I scent a 1,000 sq ft modular kitchen showroom? With one source, and the only real question is which one. 1,000 sq ft at a ten-foot ceiling is about 283 cubic metres, so a SOSA Vaayu rated to 1000m³ is still working at a fraction of what it can do. Decide instead on the four honest non-coverage reasons. Two of the four means the Vaayu at ₹11,999; one means it is a preference; none means a Sukoon at ₹1,899.

What are the four reasons, exactly? Control - app timers on trading hours, adjustable intensity, and a key-lock on a floor where several people have opinions about the dial. No water - waterless nebulisation adds no moisture to the room and leaves no residue on surfaces. Distribution - wall or HVAC mounting reaches an entrance or a closed consultation room that no freestanding unit will. Uptime - a 400ml tank running 90+ days a fill, under 38dB, so it never intrudes on a ninety-minute consultation. Score them honestly against your own building.

What does each answer cost? The Vaayu is ₹11,999 and that is the entire hardware spend - one machine, correctly placed, no second unit. The Sukoon is ₹1,899, and a Mountain Breeze reed at ₹849 is the no-schedule alternative for a showroom that would rather have nothing to switch on. What I will not do is sell you the difference on coverage, because at 283 cubic metres the coverage argument has not been made and cannot be.
The short answer
Short answer: with one source, and at this size the choice between them is decided by the building rather than by coverage. 1,000 sq ft is about 283 cubic metres against a Vaayu rated to 1000m³. Score the four non-coverage reasons - control, no water, distribution, uptime. Two of four means the Vaayu at ₹11,999; one means preference; none means a Sukoon at ₹1,899.
The pick: one SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) wall or HVAC mounted upstream on the air path if two or more of the four reasons apply to your building, and one SOSA Sukoon (₹1,899) if the floor is honestly one open room with one door.
Next step: send the floor plan with every door that closes marked, plus the ceiling height, and we will score the four reasons with you and say which side of the crossover you are on - Ask for a retail scenting plan.
1,000 sq ft - the crossover, scored out of four1,000 sq ft x a 10 ft ceiling = about 283m³ of airCoverage says nothing here: 283 against a rating of 1000Score control, no water, distribution, uptimeTwo of four = ₹11,999. One = preference. None = ₹1,899.Double height makes it 566m³ and shifts the score
Everywhere else on this ladder the cubic sum decides. Here it does not, because 283 cubic metres is comfortably inside both machines. What decides is how many separate volumes of air the building contains and how much control the floor needs.
The crossover machine - tap to see the specification
Straight answer
How should a 1,000 sq ft modular kitchen showroom actually be scented?
With one source, placed upstream on the air path - and the interesting part is which source, because this is the only rung of the ladder where the arithmetic does not decide for you. Do the sum first anyway. A thousand square feet is about 93 square metres, and at an ordinary ten-foot ceiling that is roughly 283 cubic metres of air. The SOSA Vaayu is rated to 1000m³. So a Vaayu here is still specified for well over three times the air you own, and if coverage were the only question the answer would be a SOSA Sukoon at ₹1,899 and this post would be four lines long. Coverage is not the only question at 1,000 sq ft, which is exactly what makes it the crossover. Score your building against the four honest non-coverage reasons a showroom buys a Vaayu. Control: do you need the fragrance on a timer that follows trading hours, an intensity you can set once, and a key-lock so the level cannot creep up every time somebody new opens up? No water: the Vaayu is waterless cold-air nebulisation, so it adds no moisture to the room and leaves no residue on surfaces - a fact about the machine rather than a claim about your finishes, which is a question for the people who made them. Distribution: is there somewhere a freestanding unit cannot reach, such as an entrance lobby or a consultation room that closes, and is there central air handling to mount into? Uptime: does anyone actually have time to refill a small diffuser, or do you want a 400ml tank that runs 90+ days a fill at under 38dB? Now count. Two of the four means buy the Vaayu at ₹11,999 and specify it properly. One means it is a preference, and a legitimate one, but say out loud that you are buying a preference. None means ₹1,899 and I would rather you kept the ₹10,100. One thing that changes the sum rather than the score: ceiling height. A double-height 1,000 sq ft unit holds roughly 566 cubic metres, which is more than half the Vaayu's rating and past what one small diffuser will hold, so height alone can settle this. Two standing conditions. If the showroom still smells of laminate, adhesive or new joinery, buy neither yet - that is a curing problem answered by ventilation and time, and fragrance is never used to mask another smell and is never a substitute for ventilation, extraction or cleaning. And if you run live cooking, the machine goes off during the demonstration and stays off until the extraction has cleared the air. Register: dry, material-led, nothing edible. And plainly: no one can promise that ambient scent moves footfall, enquiries or order value, and a supplier quoting you a figure is not measuring, they are selling. Ask for a retail scenting plan and send the plan.
1,000 sq ft is about 283m³ against a Vaayu rated to 1000m³, so coverage decides nothing. Score control, no water, distribution and uptime: two of four means ₹11,999, none means ₹1,899.
If two or more of the four reasons apply, the machine is one SOSA Vaayu - waterless, under 38dB, rated to 1000m³, with 1h/4h/8h/24h timers and a key-lock. ₹11,999. If none of them applies, buy the Sukoon at ₹1,899 instead and put the difference into your lighting.

The two machines at the crossover

Both answers are honest at 1,000 sq ft, which is unusual on this ladder. The cards are here side by side so you can read the specifications against your own building rather than against a sales argument.

The crossover machine, specified in full
SOSA Vaayu
1000m³ coverage (about 2,000-3,000 sq ft), 400ml tank running 90+ days a fill, Bluetooth app and 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, adjustable intensity, under 38dB, 5W, freestanding or wall and HVAC mount, auto-stop and key-lock. CE, RoHS and SGS certified. Made in India. Cold-air refill oil is not currently sold separately - the machine ships with 400ml and further supply should be confirmed with SOSA before you plan around it.

The four reasons, scored

Three of these are questions about your building and one is a question about your team. Answer them before you look at either price, because looking at the prices first is how the score gets fixed to fit the decision.

1
Score control and uptime
Who touches the dial, and who remembers to refill it
Two of the four reasons are really about people. Control asks whether the level needs protecting: on a floor with designers, floor staff and a cleaning team, a dial anyone can reach drifts upwards over a season, and a key-lock plus a timer on trading hours is the only thing that holds a setting still. Uptime asks who refills. A small diffuser is a daily habit somebody has to own; a 400ml tank running 90+ days a fill is a quarterly one. If your showroom has three people and a strong routine, both of these score zero honestly. If it has fifteen people and a rota, both score.
Tip: Ask who opened the showroom last Tuesday. If you do not know, control scores.

One Vaayu ₹11,999, set once and left alone, is the whole hardware side of this.

2
Score distribution by walking it
Distribution is worth ₹10,100 only if there is somewhere else to reach
This is the reason that most often decides a 1,000 sq ft showroom, and it is decided on foot rather than on a drawing. Walk from the front door to the furthest seat and count the boundaries you cross - a wall to the ceiling, a door that closes, a change of air-conditioning zone. If the answer is none, you have one volume of air, one source does it, and distribution scores zero. If there is an entrance lobby behind glass, a consultation room that shuts, or a mezzanine, then a wall or HVAC-mounted machine reaches what a freestanding unit on a shelf will not. Ductwork and filtration are your air-conditioning engineer's call, not mine.
Tip: Zones drawn on a plan are not zones of air. Only doors and walls to the ceiling count.
SOSA Vaayu
One Vaayu ₹11,999, set once and left alone, is the whole hardware side of this.

3
Do the height sum before you score anything
A double-height thousand holds 566m³, and that changes the machine
Kitchen experience centres are built in double-height units more often than almost any other retail category, and a square-foot answer hides it completely. A 1,000 sq ft floor at ten feet is about 283 cubic metres. The same floor at twenty feet is about 566 cubic metres - more than half the Vaayu's rating, and past what one small ultrasonic diffuser will hold at a level you can still detect at floor height. Warm air rises and takes the fragrance up with it, so in a tall unit the machine also goes low rather than high. If your unit is double height, height alone can settle this before you score a single one of the four reasons.
Tip: Measure the ceiling. It is the number a square-foot answer assumes on your behalf.

The SOSA principle
A thousand square feet is the one size on this ladder where coverage has nothing to say, because both honest machines clear it. So the decision stops being about how far a fragrance travels and becomes about how many places it has to travel to.
Which is why the useful measurement at this size is a count of doors rather than a count of square feet.

The plan for a 1,000 sq ft floor

Run these in order. The scoring step is the one people skip, and skipping it is how a single-room showroom ends up with a machine it never uses properly.

The SOSA plan
A 1,000 sq ft kitchen showroom, decided by the building rather than the floor area
The step What to do
Do the cubic sum
Length x width x ceiling height in metres. About 283m³ at ten feet, about 566m³ if the unit is double height. Write it down before anything else.
Score the four reasons
Control, no water, distribution, uptime. Answer each one about your actual building and your actual team, honestly, before you look at a price.
SOSA VaayuTwo or more: buy the Vaayu
One Vaayu at ₹11,999, wall or HVAC mounted upstream, timers on trading hours, key-lock on. Total hardware spend: ₹11,999, one machine.
SOSA SukoonNone: buy the Sukoon
One Sukoon at ₹1,899 upstream of the seating at the lowest usable setting. Total hardware spend: ₹1,899, and the difference stays in the business.
Place it either way
Where air enters the room, roughly a metre up, out of the AC return path, never at the door and never inside a display kitchen.
Set the level
From the consultation seat at minute ninety, confirmed with the designers who breathe it all week. A hesitant yes from the team is a no.

If the floor is smaller than you thought once you have measured it, the honest answer drops a rung and is set out in the best scent machine for a 750 sq ft kitchen showroom. If it is larger, the Vaayu stops being an argument and becomes a specification, which is the scenting system for a 1,500 sq ft kitchen experience centre. And the arithmetic itself is written out in full in how to calculate the right scent-machine capacity. SOSA is independent and not affiliated with any hotel.

SOSA Vaayu
None of four: SOSA Sukoon at ₹1,899, upstream of the consultation seating, three 15ml fragrances included, and ₹10,100 still in the business.
One machine, correctly specified
SOSA Vaayu ₹11,999 covers up to 1000m³ - so at 283m³ it runs low and quietly rather than hard.
See the SOSA Vaayu Book a scenting plan
I would rather you bought a Vaayu for a reason you can say out loud than for a coverage figure that does not apply to your room. At a thousand square feet, coverage is not the reason and everybody selling you one knows it.

A note from Sonal

Almost everyone at a thousand square feet writes to me asking which machine, and what they are really asking is for permission. They have already priced the Vaayu, they suspect it might be too much, and they would like someone to tell them either way. So I stopped answering with a machine and started answering with a scorecard, because the scorecard is honest in both directions and a recommendation is not.

The reason it works is that coverage genuinely has nothing to say at this size. Two hundred and eighty-three cubic metres against a machine rated for a thousand is not a coverage argument, it is a rounding error dressed up as one. Everything real about the Vaayu at a thousand square feet is about control and reach: whether the level needs protecting from a floor full of hands, whether there is a second volume of air behind a door, whether anyone will actually refill a small unit every few days. Those are answerable questions with answers that differ between two showrooms of identical size, which is why I will not guess yours.

So score it, and buy what the score says. Two or more, a Vaayu at ₹11,999. None, a Sukoon at ₹1,899 and no guilt about it. Dry register either way, nothing edible - which means our own Fresh Brew at ₹849, Coorg coffee and Kerala vanilla, stays out of a kitchen showroom, and I would rather say so than sell you one. Made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

Frequently asked questions

How do I scent a 1,000 sq ft modular kitchen showroom?
With one source placed upstream on the air path, and at this size the choice of source is decided by the building rather than by coverage. A thousand square feet at a ten-foot ceiling is about 283 cubic metres, and the Vaayu is rated to 1000, so coverage clears both machines. Score the four non-coverage reasons instead. Two or more means a Vaayu at Rs 11,999; none means a Sukoon at Rs 1,899.
What are the four reasons to buy a Vaayu at this size?
Control, meaning app timers on trading hours, adjustable intensity and a key-lock so the setting cannot drift. No water, because waterless nebulisation adds no moisture to the room and leaves no residue on surfaces. Distribution, because wall or HVAC mounting reaches an entrance or a closed consultation room that a freestanding unit will not. And uptime, because a 400ml tank runs 90 or more days a fill at under 38 decibels.
Is 1,000 sq ft too small for a Vaayu?
It is not too small to work, it is too small for coverage to be your reason. The machine is rated to 1000 cubic metres and your floor holds roughly 283, so it will run at a low setting and never be stretched. That is fine if you are buying control, distribution or uptime and you can say so out loud. If none of those applies, you are paying Rs 11,999 for features with nothing to do, and the Sukoon at Rs 1,899 is the better buy.
Does a double-height ceiling change the answer at 1,000 sq ft?
It can settle it on its own. At twenty feet the same floor holds roughly 566 cubic metres rather than 283, which is more than half the Vaayu's rating and past what one small ultrasonic diffuser will hold at a level you can detect standing up. Height also changes placement, because warm air rises and carries fragrance with it, so in a tall unit the machine goes low rather than high.
Will a scent machine increase walk-ins to my showroom?
No one can promise that and I will not. SOSA has run no research that would support a figure, and there is no honest way to separate ambient scent from the twenty other things a customer experiences across a ninety-minute visit. A supplier who quotes you a number for footfall, enquiries or order value is not measuring anything, they are selling. The question worth answering is whether your air agrees with the displays, the lighting and the price of the kitchens.

Facts verified 5 September 2026 against the live SOSA product pages: the SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) is a waterless cold-air nebuliser rated to 1000m³, described by the manufacturer as approximately 2,000-3,000 sq ft, with adjustable intensity, a 400ml refillable tank lasting 90+ days a fill depending on intensity and run hours, Bluetooth app and button control, 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, operation under 38dB at 5W, freestanding or wall and HVAC mounting, auto-stop and key-lock, and CE, RoHS and SGS certification, which are electrical and compliance marks and not medical approvals. Being waterless, it adds no moisture and leaves no residue on surfaces or equipment. The SOSA Sukoon (₹1,899) is an ultrasonic cool-mist diffuser covering roughly 270-320 sq ft and is supplied with three 15ml fragrances; the water-based Hotel Collection (₹299 / ₹999 / ₹1,799) is an ultrasonic fragrance and is not a refill for a waterless cold-air machine. SOSA reed diffusers are alcohol-free and phthalate-free, with 50ml lasting about 6-8 weeks and 130ml about 14-18 weeks. Cold-air refill oil for the Vaayu is not currently sold separately - the machine ships with 400ml included and further refills should be confirmed with SOSA. Warranty, annual maintenance, installation and bulk terms are not published and should be confirmed before ordering. Ambient scent is an interior and hospitality decision: it makes no clinical, therapeutic or wellbeing claim, it works alongside proper ventilation, cleaning and infection control and is never a substitute for any of them, it is never used to mask another smell, and no claim is made that fragrance influences a patient's decision or any commercial outcome. Clinical areas including procedure, post-procedure and photography rooms are left unscented, and the treating clinician's judgement overrides any scenting plan in their own room.
