Count the acknowledgements he has had. Visitors ask about the baby, then about you, then about the baby again. Messages ask how you are managing. His own family asks how you are. Somewhere in all of that a man is driving to the pharmacy at eleven at night and nobody has mentioned it - which leaves exactly one person in a position to.
Quick answers — read this first
What should I gift my husband after he becomes a father? Something he can use without leaving the house - a hanging car perfume at Rs 449, a solid perfume at Rs 459 or an attar at Rs 379. Not an experience that needs a day off.

Why does it matter? Because visitors ask about the baby and about you, and nobody asks about him. You are the only person in a position to acknowledge what he is actually doing.

What should it not be? Anything requiring him to be away - a day out, a match, a class. Time away is currently the most expensive thing in the house and a gift should not cost either of you any.
The short answer
Short answer: Visitors ask about the baby and about the mother, so a husband's contribution usually goes unmentioned - which leaves his wife as the only person able to acknowledge it. Choose something usable without leaving the house: a hanging car perfume at Rs 449 to Rs 509 for the driving he is doing, a solid perfume at Rs 459 to Rs 549 that works with one hand, or a 12ml alcohol-free attar at Rs 379. Avoid gifts that need a day off.
The pick: a SOSA return gift - consumable, no shelf space, from ₹299 a head.
Bulk: 10 to 200+ pieces quoted on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531. Rates are not published here.
Gifts for the parents - at a glanceEverybody gifts the baby - almost nobody gifts the parentsNo setup, no decisions, usable with one handConsumable - their home has no spare surfaceFrom ₹299 · for her, him or both
These are gifts for the adults. SOSA does not make products for babies and nothing here is intended for a nursery or for a baby's things - the point is that the mother and father receive something addressed to them. Gifts start at Rs 299, and anything can be checked on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531 first.
Straight answer
What should I gift my husband after he becomes a father?
Nobody has acknowledged what he is doing - visitors ask about the baby, then about you - so you are the only person who can. Choose something usable without leaving the house, because time away is currently the most expensive thing either of you owns. A hanging car perfume at ₹449 to ₹509 for all the driving, fetching and late errands. A solid perfume at ₹459 to ₹549 - 15g of balm applied with a finger, cannot spill in a glovebox, no cap to lose, one-handed. Titan is Arabica coffee, roasted wood, black pepper, frankincense and leather; Beast is smoked whiskey, roasted coffee, spicy leather, amber resin and vanilla bark. A 12ml attar at ₹379. Premium: the SOSA Safar at ₹3,999. Ask on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531.
Nobody asks about him. You are the only one who can say it - with something he can use without leaving. From Rs 379.
If you want one answer for a mixed guest list: hanging car perfume from ₹449, because almost every adult guest drives and almost nobody has done anything about their car. Bulk quantities quoted on WhatsApp.

You are the only one who sees what he is doing

There is an asymmetry in the weeks after a birth that is nobody's fault and worth noticing anyway. The attention in a household is finite and it flows, correctly, towards the mother and the baby. Visitors ask about the baby, then about you, then about the baby. Messages ask how you are coping. His mother rings to ask how you are. The health checks are about you and about the baby. All of that is right, and none of it leaves a spare channel for the man who is currently doing the driving, the fetching, the door, the night pharmacy run and the rest of the outside half of this household. He would not want a fuss made. He almost certainly has not mentioned it, because mentioning it would sound like a complaint and it is not one. But the fact remains that from the outside, nobody has said anything to him in weeks, and you are the only person positioned to. This is not a case for a grand gesture. It is an argument for a small deliberate one, because a small deliberate thing from the person who actually sees what he does outranks anything a visitor could bring. The main design constraint is unusual and specific: it must not require him to be away. Time away from the house is currently the most expensive commodity either of you has, and any gift that consumes it - a day out, a match, a class, an experience needing an afternoon - is not really a gift to him, it is a bill sent to you. He knows that, which is why he will not use it. So choose something that works inside the life he currently has. The car is the obvious place. He is in it constantly now: the paediatrician, the pharmacy at eleven, the grandmother collected from the station, the shopping, the drive at midnight with a baby who will not settle. It is also the one space that is still entirely his, and the place he sits for twenty minutes by himself before coming in - which, if you have noticed him doing it, is not avoidance, it is the only decompression available. A hanging car perfume at four hundred and forty-nine to five hundred and nine rupees improves several hundred hours of that. Jasmine is four hundred and forty-nine, Lavender and Sandalwood four hundred and seventy-nine, Icy Mint four hundred and eighty-nine, Lemon four hundred and ninety-nine, Vetiver, Sea Breeze and Oud five hundred and nine. Two-piece combinations run eight hundred and ninety-nine to nine hundred and forty-nine, and 15ml refills three hundred and ninety-nine to four hundred and forty-nine if he already has a holder. A Mysore Orange Blossom car spray is five hundred and forty-nine and a three-piece discovery set six hundred and ninety-nine. At the top, the SOSA Safar at three thousand nine hundred and ninety-nine rupees is a waterless car perfume diffuser - a real piece of equipment for somebody doing an extraordinary amount of driving, and unlike anything else he is likely to receive, which is nothing. On the personal side you have better information than anybody: you know what he wears, what he has quietly stopped wearing, and what he would never buy for himself. A solid perfume at four hundred and fifty-nine to five hundred and forty-nine rupees is the most practical thing in the range for the year he is having. Fifteen grams of alcohol-free balm in a flat compact, applied with a finger: it cannot spill in a bag or a glovebox, there is no cap to unscrew and lose in a dark car park, it survives months of being carried, and it works with one hand. Titan at five hundred is Arabica coffee, roasted wood, black pepper, frankincense and leather. Beast at five hundred and forty-nine is smoked whiskey, roasted coffee, spicy leather, amber resin and vanilla bark. Sway at four hundred and fifty-nine is dark cherry, espresso, cocoa, red patchouli and vanilla husk. Siren at four hundred and eighty-nine is black cherry, espresso, warm vanilla and cedar smoke. Sterling at four hundred and sixty-nine is coconut milk, almond nougat, white amber and powdered musk. An alcohol-free attar at three hundred and seventy-nine to three hundred and ninety-nine rupees is the quieter choice and fits the period structurally: undiluted perfume oil with no alcohol carrier, so it opens slowly and stays within an arm's length rather than projecting - appropriate for a car with one other adult, a waiting room, and a flat where somebody is usually asleep. Nawaab at three hundred and ninety-nine is the most obviously masculine, a white oud composition built with Mysore sandalwood and Kashmir saffron rather than a dehn al oud distillate. Ameeri at three hundred and eighty-five is Taif rose with Indian sandalwood. If he has worn the same designer fragrance for a decade, the Inspired By range from five hundred and ninety-nine holds that direction in an alcohol-free build and names its inspiration honestly rather than pretending to be the original - Tabac Noir for tobacco and vanilla, Samundar for aquatic and marine, Khayaal for sparkling bergamot and neroli, Zaffran for saffron with sweet amber. SOSA is independent and not affiliated with any other house. There is one option available only to you, which is to give something you are both inside. A coconut-soy candle at three hundred and seventy-nine rupees, lit in the evening in whichever room you have both ended up in, is a shared ten minutes rather than an object - lead-free eco wick, phthalate-free, hand-poured in Pune, fifteen to eighteen hours, in Misty Mornings, Bookshop, Evening Walks or Cozy Corner. Wax melts at four hundred and seventy-four rupees are the flame-free version if you would rather not have a flame with a small child in the house, and a reed diffuser at seven hundred and forty-nine to eight hundred and forty-nine rupees is the version that needs nothing from either of you, running two or three months at the entrance or in the living room. Not a nursery: SOSA makes no products for babies or children, and nothing in this range is intended for a nursery, a cot, a pram or a child's belongings. Two things to skip. The novelty dad genre, because a joke is how everybody else will handle this and you can do something they cannot. And anything that is a project - a kit, a gadget to configure - because he is already behind on several. Finally, and this costs nothing: say the thing. One sentence, no ceremony, ideally when you hand it over. I see what you are doing. Nobody else has said it to him, and he will remember the sentence longer than the object.

1
The asymmetry
Every channel points elsewhere
Visitors ask about the baby, then about you. Messages ask how you are coping. His mother rings to ask how you are. All of it correct, and none of it leaving a channel for him.
Tip: He has not mentioned it, because mentioning it would sound like a complaint and it is not one.
2
The constraint
It must not require him to be away
Time out of the house is the most expensive thing either of you has. A day out, a match, a class - that is not a gift to him, it is a bill sent to you, and he knows it, which is why he will not use it.
3
So, the car and the bag
Where his week already happens
The paediatrician, the pharmacy at eleven, the station, the midnight drive - and the twenty minutes he sits outside before coming in, which is not avoidance but the only decompression available.
Tip: And say one sentence when you hand it over: I see what you are doing. Nobody else has.
The SOSA principle
A day out is not a gift to him. It is a bill sent to you, and he knows it - which is exactly why it will go unused.
He will remember the sentence longer than the object.

A note from Sonal

When somebody has a baby, the gifts arrive in a wave and almost every one of them is for the baby. Clothes the child outgrows in six weeks, toys for an age they have not reached, blankets in a cupboard that already has nine. It is all kind and it is all well meant. But two adults have just gone through something enormous, and by the end of the first month neither of them has received a single thing addressed to them.

That is the whole reason this section exists. We do not make anything for babies, and nothing we sell is meant for a nursery or for a child's things - we make fragrance for adults. What we can do is give somebody an answer when they say: everybody is buying for the baby, what do I give her, or him, or the two of them. Usually the answer is something small, consumable and completely undemanding, because a new parent has no free hands, no spare surface and no appetite for anything that needs setting up.

One honest thing. If the person you are buying for is pregnant, be careful with personal fragrance. A great many people find that what they want to be near changes during those months, and a bottle somebody cannot go near is a worse gift than nothing at all - so either choose something for their home or their car, or let them pick it themselves later. Message us on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531 and tell us who the adult is and what you know about them, and we will tell you honestly if we think fragrance is the wrong call. A portion of every order supports girl-child education.
