A 3BHK is the first home where every decision in home fragrance shows up at once — how many machines, which rooms deserve them, where each one stands, how many scents to run and what the whole thing costs to keep going. This is the complete answer for a flat of roughly 1,200 to 1,600 sq ft, in the order the decisions actually arise, and it rests on one idea: you are buying for air spaces you occupy, not for square feet you own.

What do you need to scent a 3BHK properly?
1. Count air spaces, not square feet. Shut every internal door. A 3BHK leaves you with one connected public zone — entrance, living, dining, open kitchen — and three bedrooms. Four air spaces, of which usually three are genuinely occupied.

2. Buy one Sukoon per occupied space. ₹1,899 each, 270–320 sq ft each, three 15ml fragrances in every box. Three machines is ₹5,697 and nine bottles; four is ₹7,596 and twelve. A Boond at ₹899 does a small third bedroom.

3. Place them inside the rooms, not at the edges. A console in the seating area rather than the shelf by the corridor; a dresser two to three feet clear of the bedhead rather than the nightstand. Everything about a metre up and out of a fan's path.

The one idea underneath all of it

Every wrong answer to this question comes from the same place: treating a flat as a quantity of air to be divided by a coverage rating. It produces a tidy number and the number is meaningless, because a home is not one body of air. A closed door does not reduce fragrance transfer, it very nearly stops it — and a 3BHK has three of them. So the unit you are buying against is the air space, and in this flat size the air spaces are unusually unevenly sized: one connected public zone of perhaps 350 to 500 sq ft that behaves like a single room however you subdivide it visually, and three sealed boxes of 120 to 200 sq ft each that share nothing with anything. One Sukoon handles the big one. One handles each of the small ones. No arithmetic involving your carpet area will arrive at that arrangement.

The second idea, which only appears at this size, is that not every air space deserves a machine. In a studio the question does not arise and in a 1BHK it barely does; here you have four spaces and usually three sets of hours worth scenting. A room used as a study, a store or an occasional guest room does not repay ₹1,899 and then a share of every refill afterwards, because fragrance in an unoccupied room produces literally nothing — it is not stored and it does not accumulate. And the passage, which looks like the most efficient position in the entire flat, is the least: a narrow transit space, open at both ends, with doorways along it, that loses fragrance as fast as any machine can produce it. Count air spaces, subtract the empty ones, skip the corridor, and the whole plan is decided.

The Sukoon at ₹1,899 is the answer in every full-size room of a 3BHK. The Boond at ₹899 covers up to 150 sq ft on a six-hour tank and suits a compact third bedroom or a child's room — three Sukoons plus a Boond is ₹6,596 for full coverage. The Megh at ₹3,499 is never a coverage step: it is rated to 215 sq ft, less than a Sukoon, and exists for a six-litre tank, 100-hour runtime and dry-air relief in one room. The Vaayu at ₹11,999 and Aangan at ₹25,999 are waterless commercial machines that nebulise neat oil and therefore cannot use the water-based Hotel Collection at all — they belong in double-height volumes and villas, not in a flat of small closed rooms.
The rule: for more area, always more Sukoons. Never a Megh, never a Vaayu.

Two fragrances, two doses, two timer settings
A 3BHK has four or five doorways where fragrances meet, so choose them as a pair rather than separately. W Hotels-inspired Lobby Bar in the public zone — citrus, pepper and amber, with enough lift to carry a large connected space — and The Ritz-Carlton-inspired Quiet Luxury in the bedrooms, where white tea, bergamot and cedar is quiet enough to sleep in and shares a woody base with the first. Doses differ deliberately: five to six drops per tank in the public zone, three to four in a bedroom. So do the timers: 4H from early evening in the public zone, 2H in each bedroom an hour before use, nothing overnight. The SOSA principle
A 3BHK is bought space by space, and two of its spaces are traps — the corridor, which gives nothing back, and the room with a desk in it.
Get those two exclusions right and the rest of the plan is three machines, two scents and a timer setting.

Placement, drops and the running schedule

Placement first, because it is free and it decides how much of each machine's rating you actually get. Every unit stands about a metre off the floor with a foot of clear air around it — mist that meets a wall, a curtain or the back of a television condenses instead of dispersing, and a floor-level machine scents the skirting. In the public zone, position it inside the seating area rather than at the corridor mouth, and as far from the hob as an open-kitchen layout allows. In each bedroom, a dresser or chest two to three feet clear of the bedhead. Keep everything out of the direct path of a ceiling fan or a split AC, which pins mist against one wall rather than distributing it.

Doses are deliberately unequal across the flat. Five to six drops of Hotel Collection per tank in the public zone, three to four in the master, three in a smaller bedroom. Three to six drops is the general guidance and a 3BHK spends most of its life at the lower end, because a sealed bedroom is a fraction of the public zone's volume and produces a much higher concentration from the same number of drops. The commonest mistake at this size is matching bedroom doses to living-room doses; if you are aware of the scent as you fall asleep, remove a drop rather than moving the machine.

The schedule turns three or four purchases into one system, and it is the single biggest lever on running cost. Public zone on the 4H timer from early evening; each bedroom on 2H an hour before it is used; nothing overnight and nothing while the flat is empty. A Sukoon will run 16 to 18 hours on low, which is a specification rather than an instruction — a room diffusing since morning registers as nothing to the people in it and as far too much to anyone arriving. Rinse each tank when you change scents, use filtered water in hard-water cities to keep the misting plate clean, and never substitute raw essential or carrier oils, which are too viscous to atomise and will foul the machine.

The reason I keep writing about this flat size is that it is where the mistakes get expensive. A studio buyer can only get one decision wrong. A 3BHK buyer can spend ₹9,000 and still have a bedroom that smells of nothing, because the money went into a corridor, a store room and a machine bought for its tank size rather than its coverage. None of those errors is obvious from a product page. All three are obvious after a week of living with them, which is a bad time to find out.

So: shut the doors, count what is left, subtract the rooms nobody sleeps in, and buy one Sukoon for each of the rest — in sequence, a month apart, so the flat can tell you when to stop.
