A 3,000 sq ft open floor is one connected volume of air. A performance facility I worked with added glass partitions midway through the build - a members' suite here, a quiet stretching room there - after the fragrance plan had already been sized around one open floor. The single Vaayu that would have served the whole space beautifully as open plan suddenly had to be rethought room by room.
None of the partitions were tall enough to notice from across the floor. All of them were enough to stop one machine's output from reaching past them the way it had in the open layout.
If a floor plan is still on paper, ask the partition question before the fragrance question. It changes the answer more than almost anything else on the drawing.
