The reason not to dot products around that room is not tidiness. A games room is a room in use, and every flat surface in it is a surface somebody puts a glass on. Bottles placed around a room like that get moved, pushed behind something and quietly shut in a cupboard inside a month. So the real question is about sources rather than about products: can one source do the work of four placed objects? That turns out to depend almost entirely on whether the room has doors and whether they are shut.
The one-source answer, and only where the games room is open to the rest of the floor. SOSA Vaayu, ₹11,999 - waterless cold-air diffusion producing a dry residue-free mist, published for up to 1000 m3, about 2,000 to 3,000 sq ft of connected air, with a 400ml tank, app and button control, 1, 4, 8 or 24-hour run windows, adjustable intensity and operation under 38 dB. Behind a shut door, Sukoon at ₹1,899 is the proportionate machine.
Quick answers — read this first
How do you scent a games room without placing products all around it? Work from one source rather than several. If the room is genuinely closed, the honest answers are SOSA Sukoon at ₹1,899 or SOSA Megh at ₹5,999 - both water-based, and both needing water and regular refilling - or a single reed diffuser from ₹749 on one shelf. If the room opens into the rest of the floor with nothing shut between, that is a connected volume and SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999 is the machine built for it.
Is a machine published for up to 1000 m3 right for one games room? Not if that room is closed. The published rating describes one connected body of air, stated on the Vaayu page as about 2,000 to 3,000 sq ft. A single closed room is a small fraction of that, and specifying for it means buying a great deal more machine than the room is asking for. Where the games room is really one end of an open floor, the figure applies and the answer changes.
What makes a fragrance noticeable in a room that is in use? Enclosure, and how far the source reaches. A passive bottle scents the area immediately around it, which is why one reed on a far shelf reads as nothing across a large space. A machine disperses from a single point and its intensity is adjustable, so the level is set rather than guessed. SOSA publishes nothing beyond that, and nothing at all about how anybody in the room will respond.
The short answer
Short answer: Use one source rather than four objects placed around a room people actually use. But be honest about size first: a single closed games room is not one connected body of air of about 2,000 to 3,000 sq ft. Sukoon at Rs 1,899, Megh at Rs 5,999 or a reed at Rs 749 is the answer for a closed room, and Vaayu at Rs 11,999 is right where the room opens into the floor.
The pick:Sukoon at ₹1,899 or Megh at ₹5,999 for a closed games room, and Vaayu at ₹11,999 only where that room opens into the rest of the floor.
Why: One source instead of several placed objects, an intensity that is set rather than guessed, and a coverage figure read honestly as connected air rather than as total floor area.
A gift cannot change how somebody's week went, and a page that suggests otherwise is not worth reading. What a small parcel does is tell a person you were thinking about them on a day when nothing made you - which is a real thing to say, and worth saying. Keep it small, because a large one asks somebody already short of energy to produce a reaction, and send the words separately, because the object cannot carry them.
How do I get the fragrance noticeable in a games room used by several people at once, without scattering products around it?
Two decisions, and most people make the second one first. Decision one is sources: one, or several. Several small placed objects in a room that is actually used will be moved by the people using it, and each of them scents the area immediately around itself rather than the room. One source, positioned once, is the thing that behaves predictably in a games room. Decision two is size, and this is where the honest answer costs less than the ambitious one.SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999 is a waterless cold-air machine - a dry residue-free mist, no water and no heat - published for up to 1000 m3, stated as about 2,000 to 3,000 sq ft, with a 400ml refillable tank, Bluetooth app and onboard buttons, run windows of 1, 4, 8 or 24 hours with day scheduling and adjustable intensity, under 38 dB, on DC 12V / 1A at 5W, 165 x 80.5 x 215 mm and 0.9 kg, black or white, freestanding or wall and HVAC mounted, CE, RoHS and SGS marked, made in India, and supplied with four SOSA Hotel Collection fragrances of 100 ml each. That rating assumes one connected body of air. A closed games room is not that, and a machine of that reach is over-specified for it. There, Sukoon at ₹1,899 or Megh at ₹5,999 is the honest single-room answer - both are water-based and need water and refilling - or a reed diffuser from ₹749 if nobody will operate anything. One more thing to be straight about: fragrance adds a scent to a space. It does not remove, neutralise or purify one, and the residue-free mist is a statement about residue on surfaces rather than about air quality. A portion of every SOSA order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
Count the doors before you count the money. A closed games room and an open games room are two different purchases, and only one of them is the expensive one.
Where the games room is genuinely closed: Sukoon at ₹1,899 or Megh at ₹5,999, both water-based and both needing water and refilling. Where it opens into the floor, the Vaayu coverage figure applies.
One source or several objects, and the door question that decides it
Three things settle this, and the middle one is the one that decides the price. It is answered by standing in the doorway rather than by reading a specification.
1
The source question
Why four placed objects behave worse than one
A placed bottle is a small passive source. It scents the volume immediately around itself and its reach does not grow because you bought four of them - you get four small scented pockets and three metres of nothing between them. In a bedroom that is fine, because the room is the size of the pocket. In a games room with a table, a bar counter and seating along one wall, it is not.
Then there is what happens to objects in a room people use. A games room has no spare surfaces; every ledge is doing a job on a Saturday night. Anything you place there is competing with glasses, cues, controllers and phones, and it loses. Within a few weeks the bottles are behind something or in a cupboard, which is the quiet failure mode of the scattered-product approach and the reason the question gets asked in the first place.
One source changes the geometry. It is positioned once, by somebody who thought about it for a minute, and it stays positioned. That is the whole argument for a machine in a room like this, and it holds whether the machine costs ₹1,899 or ₹11,999. Which of those two it is has nothing to do with the argument and everything to do with the next question.
Tip: You are not buying more fragrance. You are buying one source instead of four.
2
The door question
Is the games room one room, or one end of a floor?
Stand in the doorway and look at what is shut. This is the question that decides between a machine at ₹1,899 and a machine at ₹11,999, and it is worth being blunt about it, because the expensive answer is wrong more often than anybody selling it admits.
Vaayu publishes a coverage figure, which almost nothing in home fragrance does: up to 1000 m3, stated on the product page as about 2,000 to 3,000 sq ft. Read that strictly. It is a figure for one connected body of air - an open living-dining floor, a double-height hall, a games area that runs into a bar and a lounge with nothing shut between them. That is a genuine case and it is exactly where the machine is the right purchase.
A games room in a basement with a door on it is not that. It is one closed room, and a machine published for that reach is simply over-specified for it - you would be paying for dispersion the four walls will not let it use. The honest answers there are Sukoon at ₹1,899 or Megh at ₹5,999, which are water-based and want water and regular refilling, or a reed diffuser from ₹749 when nobody is going to operate anything at all. Note also that SOSA publishes no figure for what a second machine would add, so anything beyond one large connected volume is a conversation rather than a sum.
3
The level question
Setting the level, and the three things nobody publishes
Intensity is adjustable and the run window is chosen, which is the part that matters in a room used on some evenings and not others. Vaayu runs under 38 dB, is controlled by a Bluetooth app or the buttons on it, and offers run windows of 1, 4, 8 or 24 hours with chosen days, adjustable intensity, auto-stop and a key-lock. A games room does not need a scent on a Tuesday afternoon, and this is the published mechanism for that. What it is not is a promise about anybody in the room; SOSA makes no claim about how a person responds to a fragrance.
It is complete on day one. Every unit is supplied with four SOSA Hotel Collection fragrances, 100 ml each. Afterwards, SOSA waterless nebuliser refills are ₹1,049 for 100 gm and ₹1,849 for 300 gm. It takes alcohol-free, water-free oil made for cold-air diffusion; the water-based bottles on the site belong to the ultrasonic machines and are a different fluid for a different device.
And three things to ask rather than assume. The product page states how long a 400ml fill lasts in two different ways - about 75 days in its specification data and 90 or more in its body copy - and it depends on the intensity setting and the scheduled hours in any case. There is also no published warranty period, no published installation service and no published running-cost figure. Ask on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531 rather than planning around a number.
Tip: Ask what a fill actually lasts. The page gives two answers and neither is wrong to ask about.
Read the number strictly, not generously
About 2,000 to 3,000 sq ft - of air that is actually connected
Vaayu publishes a coverage figure, which almost nothing in home fragrance does: up to 1000 m3, stated as about 2,000 to 3,000 sq ft. The caveat matters more than the number. A rating assumes one connected body of air. A ground floor that runs living into dining into a stairwell is one volume and is exactly what the figure describes. A bungalow of the same total area with six closed doors is not one volume, it is six rooms, and the figure does not transfer. Work out how much of the house is genuinely open before you work out anything else - and note that no guidance is published on what a second unit adds.
Five minutes in the doorway settles this better than an hour of reading
Count the sources you are willing to have in the room. The answer should be one.
Stand in the doorway. Note every door that is shut when the room is in use.
Closed room means Sukoon at Rs 1,899 or Megh at Rs 5,999. Open floor means Vaayu.
Ask on WhatsApp what a 400ml fill lasts before planning around any number.
The SOSA principle
A coverage figure is a statement about connected air, not about floor area, and that single distinction is worth more than any comparison of features. It is what tells you honestly that one closed games room does not need the biggest machine in the range.
It also explains why the cheaper answer is so often the correct one here, and why a page that sells upward into a closed room is getting the physics wrong rather than the budget right.
Which set, what comes in the box, and what the machine runs on
If the room does turn out to be open and a Vaayu is the answer, there are three published four-scent sets and they all cost the same ₹11,999, so the choice is a taste decision rather than a budget one. The sets pair Ritz-Carlton with Westin, St. Regis and 1 Hotels inspirations; Westin with Shangri-La, Four Seasons and Ritz-Carlton; and St. Regis with W Hotels, 1 Hotels and Four Seasons. Worth saying plainly what those are: SOSA's own hotel-inspired interpretations, composed by SOSA, and SOSA is independent and not affiliated with any hotel brand. For a games room specifically, the four 100 ml bottles are the useful part rather than the names on them, because a room used by a group is a room where the household will want to try more than one register before settling. If none of the four suits, the waterless nebuliser oils at ₹1,049 for 100 gm are a small correction rather than an expensive one.
The SOSA gift edit
The four honest answers for a games room, and where each one stops working
The option
Who it suits, and where it fails
SOSA Vaayu · ₹11,999
One source, up to about 2,000 to 3,000 sq ft of connected air, under 38 dB, scheduled by app with 1, 4, 8 or 24-hour windows and adjustable intensity, complete in the box with four 100 ml fragrances. It is the right answer only where the games room is open to the rest of the floor. Behind a shut door it is over-specified for the volume it is being asked to serve.
SOSA Megh · ₹5,999
The larger ultrasonic, water-based, and a sensible single-room source for a games room that has a door on it. It fails on attendance rather than on reach: it wants water and regular refilling, which is a real recurring ask of a household that did not choose it, and it is not a machine for a whole connected floor.
SOSA Sukoon · ₹1,899
The honest small machine for one closed room, water-based, one source rather than four objects, and about a sixth of the price of the big one. It fails the moment the doors come off the room, because a single-room ultrasonic has no answer for a large connected volume and nobody should pretend otherwise.
A single reed diffuser · ₹749 to ₹1,349
Passive, about 6 to 10 weeks, nothing to plug in, switch on or refill with water, and it runs whether or not anybody is in the building. The right answer when nobody will operate anything. It fails when the brief is the word noticeable across a large space, because its reach is the area immediately around the bottle.
The two details that matter in a finished house
Under 38 dB, and it runs only when you tell it to
Two published details decide whether this belongs in a house somebody spent years on. It runs under 38 dB, which is the answer to the reasonable worry about a machine humming in a double-height living room. And it is scheduled: Bluetooth app plus onboard buttons, run windows of 1, 4, 8 or 24 hours, chosen days and adjustable intensity, with auto-stop and a key-lock. That is what makes it workable in a house occupied for part of the year, or a room used only when people come over. It is 165 x 80.5 x 215 mm and 0.9 kg, black or white, freestanding or wall and HVAC mounted, and it ships with four 100 ml fragrances - so it is complete on the day it arrives.
One note on where this sits in the rest of the range, because the temptation with an entertaining room is to assume bigger is better. SOSA Meenar at ₹38,500 is published for 12,000 to 18,000 sq ft and is a commercial machine for a hotel, a showroom or a corporate floor; for a games room it is not the ambitious choice, it is the wrong one. Boond at ₹899 sits below Sukoon and is the smallest of the ultrasonics, again water-based. SOSA Safar at ₹3,999 is portable and cordless and goes with a person to a car or a hotel room rather than scenting a property, and it is imported rather than made in India. And a candle from ₹399 is a different format entirely: it needs a flame and somebody to light it, which is simply what the format is, and no burn-hour figure is published for it.
₹11,999. Up to 1000 m3, stated as about 2,000 to 3,000 sq ft of connected volume. A 400ml tank, Bluetooth app plus onboard buttons, 1h/4h/8h/24h run windows and adjustable intensity. Under 38 dB.
165 x 80.5 x 215 mm and 0.9 kg, in black or white, freestanding on a surface or wall and HVAC mounted. DC 12V / 1A at 5W, with auto-stop and a key-lock, and CE, RoHS and SGS marks.
Every Vaayu ships with four SOSA Hotel Collection fragrances, 100 ml each, in one of three published four-scent sets. So it is complete on arrival, which matters more for a gift than it sounds.
four x 100 ml included
The number this whole decision turns on, and where it stops being true
Up to 1000 m3 - about 2,000 to 3,000 sq ft - of connected air
SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999 publishes a coverage figure, which almost nothing else in home fragrance does: up to 1000 m3, stated on the product page as about 2,000 to 3,000 sq ft. It is a waterless cold-air machine producing a dry, residue-free mist with no water and no heat, running under 38 dB on DC 12V / 1A at 5W, with a 400ml refillable tank, Bluetooth app and onboard button control, run windows of 1h, 4h, 8h or 24h, day scheduling and adjustable intensity, plus auto-stop and a key-lock. It is 165 x 80.5 x 215 mm and 0.9 kg, in black or white, freestanding or wall and HVAC mounted, CE, RoHS and SGS marked, and its country of origin is India. But a coverage rating assumes one connected body of air. That figure describes an open-plan living-dining floor, a duplex's main level, a double-height hall - the kind of volume a small passive bottle cannot reach. It does not describe a bungalow with every internal door closed, because that is not one volume; it is six. Above about 3,000 sq ft of genuinely connected space, or across separated wings, the honest answer is a conversation rather than a number, because no multi-unit guidance is published. SOSA Meenar at ₹38,500 is published for 12,000 to 18,000 sq ft and is a commercial machine rather than a house gift.
Tell SOSA who it is for, roughly how big the room is, whether their home is already scented and what you want to spend - and you will be told which size and which scent, including the times the honest answer is the 50ml rather than the 130ml.
Four bottles around a room is not four times one bottle. It is four small pockets of scent and a lot of ordinary air in between them.
— Sonal Sahani, SOSA
The SOSA gifting range
Two questions settle almost every reed diffuser gift, and the first one is not price. How big is the room it is going into? A 50ml suits a bedroom, a study, a hallway or a first diffuser; a 130ml suits an open-plan living and dining area, and it is genuinely too much for a small closed bedroom. Then: how much do you actually know about their taste? The less you know, the less declarative the scent should be - Morning Freshness is the safest of the five for a home you have never stood in, and Fresh Brew coffee-vanilla is the strongest opinion in the range. Price follows those two answers rather than leading them.
The SOSA range, sorted by how much air it is meant to handle
Up to 1000 m3, stated as about 2,000 to 3,000 sq ft of connected volume - a 400ml tank, Bluetooth app and onboard buttons, 1h/4h/8h/24h scheduling, adjustable intensity, under 38 dB
Worn on the body rather than placed in a room - the right answer when the gift is about the person and not the house
from ₹379
A coverage rating assumes one connected body of air. Vaayu's figure describes an open-plan volume - a living-dining floor, a duplex's main level, a double-height hall. A house with every internal door shut is not one volume, and the figure does not transfer to it. Every Vaayu ships with four SOSA Hotel Collection fragrances, 100 ml each, and its country of origin is India. Fragrance adds a scent to a space; it does not remove, neutralise or purify one, and the dry residue-free mist is a statement about residue rather than about air quality. SOSA blends described as hotel-inspired are SOSA's own interpretations and SOSA is independent and not affiliated with any hotel brand. Prices above are published retail prices; bulk orders are welcome and quantities are settled on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531. SOSA is an Indian fragrance house based in Pune. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
The honest spec sheet
What the Vaayu page publishes, and what it does not
Everything below is on the live product page. Anything not on this list is not something a page like this should state.
The machine - waterless cold-air diffusion, dry and residue-free, no water and no heat. 165 x 80.5 x 215 mm, 0.9 kg, black or white, freestanding or wall and HVAC mounted. DC 12V / 1A, 5W. Under 38 dB. Auto-stop and key-lock. CE, RoHS and SGS. Country of origin India.
Control - a 400ml refillable tank, Bluetooth app plus onboard buttons, run windows of 1h, 4h, 8h or 24h, day scheduling and adjustable intensity. This is what makes it workable in a house that is empty for stretches, or a room used only at weekends.
In the box - every Vaayu ships with four SOSA Hotel Collection fragrances, 100 ml each, in one of three published four-scent sets, all at ₹11,999. SOSA blends described as hotel-inspired are SOSA's own interpretations and SOSA is independent and not affiliated with any hotel brand.
The fragrance - alcohol-free, water-free oils formulated for cold-air diffusion. SOSA waterless nebuliser refills are ₹1,049 for 100 gm and ₹1,849 for 300 gm and are published for Vaayu and Safar. The water-based ultrasonic bottles belong to a different kind of machine.
Not published, and therefore never stated here: how long a 400ml fill lasts as a single figure - the page says about 75 days in one place and 90 or more in another; what a second unit adds; any warranty period, service interval or filter; any installation service; any app name, phone compatibility or Bluetooth range; and any running or electricity cost. Those go to WhatsApp +91 96192 18531.
Not sure whether the house needs a machine or a bottle? Tell SOSA on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531 four things: roughly how much of the ground floor is one connected open volume, whether the internal doors stay open or shut, how often the house is actually occupied, and what you want to spend. You will get one straight answer rather than a catalogue - including the times the honest answer is a reed diffuser from ₹749 or a duo set from ₹1,498 rather than a machine. What is not on this page, because SOSA does not publish it: what a second unit adds, any warranty period, any installation service, any running or electricity cost, and any app or Bluetooth compatibility detail. One thing to check before you buy: the Vaayu page states the life of a 400ml fill two different ways - about 75 days in one place and 90 or more in another - and it depends on intensity and scheduled hours in any case, so ask rather than plan around a number. Every Vaayu ships with four SOSA Hotel Collection fragrances, 100 ml each; SOSA waterless nebuliser refills are ₹1,049 for 100 gm and ₹1,849 for 300 gm. Bulk orders are welcome and custom label or logo on product is available; quantities and anything commercial are settled on WhatsApp rather than priced on a page. Bespoke composition, a fragrance composed for you by Sonal, is a real SOSA service and is also discussed there. Where SOSA is: an Indian fragrance house based in Pune, sending orders across India, with no shop, stockist, counter or warehouse in any other city.

A note from Sonal
The messages I find hardest to answer are the ones that begin with an apology. They have just finished building the house. I don't want to sound cheap, but I also can't buy them anything that matters at that scale. And underneath it is a real anxiety: that after years of drawings and delays and site visits, whatever you turn up with will look like a token.
What I would say is that the anxiety is aimed at the wrong thing. You are not competing with the house. Nobody is. The people who built it spent two years choosing between four shades of the same stone, and there is no object you can hand over that will register on that scale. Trying is how people end up buying a vase that gets moved to a spare room.
The reason I keep coming back to scent for these particular houses is unromantic. It is the last layer, and it is the only one nobody planned. An architect resolves the volume, a designer resolves the surfaces, a lighting consultant resolves the evening, and then everybody stops - because scent is not on anybody's drawing. So it is one of the few things left that adds to a finished house without arguing with a single decision already made in it.
The part I would be careful about is the number. Vaayu publishes a coverage figure, which almost nothing in home fragrance does, and I would rather you read it strictly than generously. About 2,000 to 3,000 sq ft, of air that is actually connected. A ground floor that opens living into dining into a stairwell is that. A bungalow with six closed doors is not that, whatever its total square footage says on paper, and a page that blurs the two is doing you no favours.
Frequently asked questions
Can one machine scent a games room used by several people at once?
One source can serve a room; how large a room depends on whether it is closed. The Vaayu figure is up to 1000 cubic metres, published as about 2,000 to 3,000 square feet, and it describes one connected body of air rather than a total floor area. For a closed games room, Sukoon at Rs 1,899 or Megh at Rs 5,999 is the proportionate answer, and both are water-based and need refilling.
Is a large machine wasted on one closed room?
Largely, yes, and it is worth saying so. A machine published for up to 1000 cubic metres of connected air is specified for an open floor or a double-height hall. Four walls and a shut door mean most of that reach has nowhere to go. The honest single-room answers are Sukoon at Rs 1,899, Megh at Rs 5,999, or a reed diffuser from Rs 749 if nobody will operate a machine.
Can the strength be set, or is it fixed?
Vaayu publishes adjustable intensity along with run windows of 1, 4, 8 or 24 hours, chosen days, auto-stop and a key-lock, controlled by a Bluetooth app or the buttons on the unit. So the level is set rather than guessed, and the machine is not running on a weekday afternoon when the room is empty. SOSA makes no claim about how any person in the room will respond to a fragrance.
How often does the tank need refilling?
The tank is 400 ml and refillable, and the product page states its life two different ways - about 75 days in its specification data and 90 or more days in its body copy. Either way it depends on the intensity setting and how many hours a day it is scheduled to run. Ask SOSA on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531 rather than planning around a single number.
Will it deal with the smell of a room that has been shut up?
No. Fragrance adds a scent to a space; it does not remove, neutralise, mask or purify anything, and it does not clean the air. A room that has been closed for a while needs ventilation before it needs fragrance. The dry, residue-free mist Vaayu produces is a statement about residue on surfaces, not a statement about air quality.

About the coverage figure: a rating assumes one connected body of air. The published figure describes an open-plan volume such as a living-dining floor, a duplex's main level or a double-height hall, and does not describe a property whose rooms are separated by closed doors, whatever its total floor area. No guidance is published on what a second unit adds. About tank life: the Vaayu product page states the life of one 400 ml fill in two different ways - approximately 75 days in its specification and FAQ data, and 90 or more days in its body copy - and in either case it depends on the intensity setting and the scheduled hours, so no single figure is stated on this page. What is not published, and is therefore not stated here: any warranty period, service interval or filter; any installation service; any app name, phone compatibility or Bluetooth range; any running or electricity cost; and any multi-unit coverage. Limits of this guide: fragrance adds a scent to a space. It does not remove, neutralise, mask or purify odour, it does not clean the air, and no SOSA product makes any health, antibacterial or air-purifying claim; a dry residue-free mist is a statement about residue and not about air quality. No claim is made anywhere on this page about mood, stress, calm, sleep or wellbeing, nor about how any recipient or guest will feel, nor about what a gift does for any business result. No page here characterises any recipient's wealth or describes people who own particular kinds of property; where a property value appears it is the figure the reader themselves supplied as context. SOSA blends described as hotel-inspired are SOSA's own interpretations and SOSA is independent and not affiliated with any hotel brand.
