A fragrant entrance and a dead back wall is the most common coverage complaint I hear. Coverage is governed by air volume and airflow, not floor area — and an undersized or badly placed unit will always leave gaps no matter how high you turn it up.
Quick answers — read this first
Why does only part of my store smell scented? Usually the unit is undersized for the air volume, placed wrong, or fighting the AC. High ceilings and open layouts hold far more air than the floor area suggests. Size the machine to the volume, not the square feet.

Should I just turn the diffuser up? No — that over-scents the area near the unit without reaching the far zones. The gap is a distribution problem, not an intensity one. Add coverage or reposition instead.

What actually fixes coverage gaps? Right-sizing the machine, placing it in the airflow, and for large or multi-zone floors, moving to ducted HVAC scenting that uses the building's own air handling.
The short answer
Short answer: Your diffuser is not covering the whole store because coverage depends on air volume and airflow rather than floor area, so an undersized unit, poor placement, or an AC system that clears scented air will leave gaps — the fix is to size the machine to the room's cubic volume, place it in the airflow, and for large floors let the HVAC carry the scent rather than a single standalone unit.
The pick: the SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) for showrooms - waterless, so it adds no humidity near your stock, with app scheduling that maps to trading hours. Small stores from ₹1,799; ducted showrooms from ₹25,999.

Straight answer
Why isn't my commercial diffuser covering the whole electronics store?
1. Calculate air volume, not floor area. Length × width × height. A 2,000 sq ft floor with a 4.5m ceiling is far more air than the same floor at 3m — and coverage ratings are in cubic metres.

2. Compare to the machine's rating. If your room's volume exceeds the unit's rated coverage, no setting will fix it. You need a bigger machine or a second unit.

3. Read the airflow. Scent travels on air currents. Place the unit where the AC or natural draft will carry it across the floor, not into a corner or straight out a vent.

4. Stop turning it up. Over-driving a small unit floods its immediate area and still never reaches the far wall. Distribution, not intensity, is the fix.

5. For large or multi-zone floors, go ducted. The Aangan HVAC system uses the building's air handling to reach every zone the ducting serves — one signature, no gaps.

One line: size to cubic volume, place in the airflow, and for big floors let the Aangan HVAC (₹25,999) carry it everywhere.

What actually limits your coverage

1
VOLUME, NOT AREA
Your ceiling height is the hidden factor
Vaayu - scheduled Vaayu · scheduled₹11,999 Coverage ratings are given in cubic metres because scent fills a volume of air, not a floor. Electronics showrooms often have high or double-height ceilings for display drama, which quietly doubles the air a machine must scent versus a low-ceilinged shop of the same footprint. A unit rated 'up to 1000m³' in a 4.5m-high 2,000 sq ft room is being asked to fill roughly 850m³ — borderline. Always multiply by ceiling height before you trust a coverage number. The air above the shelves counts too.
Tip: Measure height, not just floor plan, before sizing.
2
AIRFLOW IS THE DELIVERY
Placement decides where scent travels
Hotel Collection Hotel CollectionFrom ₹299 A diffuser does not push scent to every corner by force; it releases it and lets the room's air currents distribute it. Place a unit in still air behind a pillar and it scents a bubble. Place it near a return-air path or in the natural draft from the entrance and the same machine covers far more. The worst placement is directly under an extract vent, which pulls your scent straight out before it spreads. Work with the airflow you have and the machine's reach roughly doubles.
Tip: Never place a unit right beneath an exhaust or return vent.
3
ONE UNIT, TOO MANY ZONES
Separate rooms need separate coverage
Aangan - HVAC Aangan · HVAC₹25,999 A single standalone diffuser scents the space its air connects to. A store split into an open floor, a walled demo room and a billing area behind a partition is really three air volumes — and one machine on the floor will never reach the sealed demo room. Either place a unit in each zone or, more elegantly, scent through the shared ducting. The Aangan feeds the HVAC so every zone the ducts serve carries the same signature from one hidden machine.

The three systems an electronics store actually needs
The SOSA principle
A coverage gap is never solved by turning the machine up. It is solved by matching the system to the air volume and letting airflow do the delivery.
An undersized unit at full blast gives you a pungent entrance and an unscented back wall — the worst of both, and the fastest way to conclude, wrongly, that scent does not work.

Scent does not march across a room. It rides the air you already move — so place the machine where that air goes.

The SOSA commercial edit

Whichever kind of electronics business you run, the system logic is the same: one signature, sized to the space, scheduled so it never depends on a staff member's memory, and waterless wherever it runs near stock. The Hotel Collection blends - SOSA's own interpretations of the world's finest hotel scents - run across the range, and everything is supported from Pune. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

Honest notes for store owners: ambient scenting's effects on dwell time, perceived quality and recall are real but moderate - they compound a well-run store and rescue nothing; premises must be clean and well-ventilated first, because fragrance crowns good air and never substitutes for it. Ultrasonic systems (Boond, Sukoon) add a small amount of humidity and run the water-based Hotel Collection fragrance; the Vaayu and the HVAC systems run waterless nebulising oil - near open equipment and in humid coastal cities, prefer waterless. The Hotel Collection scents are SOSA's own interpretations inspired by the world's finest hotels; SOSA is an independent Indian fragrance house, not affiliated with or endorsed by any hotel brand. Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate the coverage my store needs?
Multiply length by width by ceiling height for cubic metres, then match to a machine's rated coverage with headroom to spare. High ceilings matter enormously — a tall showroom can need a unit two tiers up from what its floor area suggests. The Vaayu covers up to 1000m³.
Will a second small diffuser fix my coverage gap?
It can, for a store split into two air volumes — put one in each. But two small units in one open floor is usually worse than one correctly sized machine. For genuinely large or multi-room floors, ducted HVAC scenting is cleaner.
Why is my entrance strong but the back of the store unscented?
Classic undersized-unit or wrong-placement signature. The machine floods its immediate area and never reaches the far zone. Do not turn it up; reposition into the airflow or size the machine to the full volume.
Does the air conditioning affect my coverage?
Strongly. AC currents are your main distribution system — use them. But a unit placed under a return or exhaust vent gets its scent pulled out before it spreads. With ducted scenting the AC becomes the delivery network deliberately, which is why HVAC covers evenly.
Is HVAC scenting overkill for my store?
For a single small floor, yes — a standalone Vaayu is right. For anything above roughly 1000m³, multiple zones, or high ceilings, HVAC gives even coverage with no visible machines and one refill point. It becomes the sensible choice as the space grows.
Close the gaps
Even coverage is a sizing and airflow question — not a matter of turning it up.
For large or multi-zone electronics floors, the SOSA Aangan scents through your ducting so every zone carries one signature from a single hidden machine. ₹25,999.

About this guide: Written by Sonal Sahani, ISIPCA Versailles-trained founder and perfumer at SOSA Home & Body. Product recommendations reflect the SOSA commercial range; the scent-marketing strategy advice applies to any brand's systems.

Facts verified August 2026: Ambient scent research consistently associates pleasant, congruent scenting with longer dwell time, improved venue evaluations and stronger brand recall at moderate effect sizes; congruence and gentle intensity outperform strong scenting in replicated studies, and no scent effect survives unclean or poorly ventilated premises. Olfactory memory is unusually durable, which is the mechanism behind signature retail scents. The principal risk to electronic equipment from diffusion is added moisture and residue rather than fragrance itself, which is the basis of this range's waterless recommendation. SOSA systems: Boond 300ml (₹799) and Sukoon 500ml (₹1,799) ultrasonic units run the water-based Hotel Collection fragrance (from ₹299; refills 100ml ₹999); SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) is a waterless cold-air nebulising machine, up to 1000m³, 400ml tank, Bluetooth app and 1/4/8/24h timers, under 38 dB; SOSA Aangan (₹25,999) is an HVAC nebulising system covering up to 3,000m³ (roughly 8,000-10,000 sq ft).
