Doesn't floor area work? Not on its own — ceiling height changes everything. A 100m² showroom at five metres is 500m³. Always size by volume, not square feet.
What if I'm between sizes? Size up slightly and run the machine gentler on its schedule. An under-sized unit cranked to full smells cheap; a right-sized one on a low setting smells composed.
2. Match volume to rated coverage. Every commercial machine is rated in m³. Read your number against the ratings: ~150m³ for an ultrasonic unit, ~1000m³ for the Vaayu, ~3,000m³ for the Aangan.
3. Account for openness and airflow. An open-plan floor scents more easily than one chopped into cabins; heavy AC moves scent around and can thin it. If in doubt, size up a notch.
4. Size up, then dial down. A machine with headroom running gently always beats a small one at full tilt — the first is even and quiet, the second is loud, patchy and smells cheap by the unit.
5. Don't try to stretch one machine across zones. If your store is several separated spaces, either place a unit per zone or duct it — one small diffuser cannot fill a whole multi-room showroom.

Why square feet will mislead you
Vaayu · scheduled₹11,999 Two stores with identical floor plans can need completely different machines because one has a three-metre ceiling and the other a false ceiling at six. Fragrance fills air, and air is measured in three dimensions. A 120m² floor sounds like a Sukoon job until you notice the double-height display area makes it 600m³ — firmly Vaayu territory. Always run the height into your sum before you shortlist anything.
Sukoon · counter₹1,799 An open showroom lets scent circulate freely, so a single well-placed machine covers its rated volume comfortably. Chop that same volume into cabins, listening rooms and a walled billing area and the scent can't travel — each pocket needs its own source or a ducted feed. Before you size, ask not just how big the store is but how connected it is; a broken-up floor of the same volume needs more distribution, not just more output.
Vaayu · scheduled₹11,999 When your number sits between two machines, take the larger and run it gently. A unit with spare capacity on a low schedule setting produces an even, quiet, natural scent; an under-sized unit forced to full output to compensate runs louder, empties faster and pushes the scent to a cloying peak near the machine while the far corner still smells of nothing. Headroom is comfort — and near stock, the Vaayu gives you plenty of it waterlessly.
Working out your number in two minutes
Grab the store's dimensions in metres. A shop 12m long, 8m wide and 4m high is 12 × 8 × 4 = 384m³ — comfortably a Vaayu. A small mobile store at 6m × 5m × 3m is 90m³, which a Sukoon handles. If your ceiling steps up over a display zone, calculate that portion separately and add it in rather than using an average.
Then apply two adjustments. If the space is broken into walled zones, size for the largest connected pocket and plan a source for each of the others. If the store runs heavy air conditioning, nudge up a step, because moving air disperses — and slightly thins — the scent. When your figure lands near a boundary, always round up to the larger machine and let the schedule do the restraining.
The sizing table

Frequently asked questions
Facts verified August 2026: Ambient scent research consistently associates pleasant, congruent scenting with longer dwell time, improved venue evaluations and stronger brand recall at moderate effect sizes; congruence and gentle intensity outperform strong scenting in replicated studies, and no scent effect survives unclean or poorly ventilated premises. Olfactory memory is unusually durable, which is the mechanism behind signature retail scents. The principal risk to electronic equipment from diffusion is added moisture and residue rather than fragrance itself, which is the basis of this range's waterless recommendation. SOSA systems: Boond 300ml (₹799) and Sukoon 500ml (₹1,799) ultrasonic units run the water-based Hotel Collection fragrance (from ₹299; refills 100ml ₹999); SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) is a waterless cold-air nebulising machine, up to 1000m³, 400ml tank, Bluetooth app and 1/4/8/24h timers, under 38 dB; SOSA Aangan (₹25,999) is an HVAC nebulising system covering up to 3,000m³ (roughly 8,000-10,000 sq ft).
