This is the complete, honest checklist to work through before buying a commercial scent machine in Noida or Greater Noida - eleven things that genuinely determine the right answer, and none of them an ROI figure, because there is no honest ROI calculation for a scent machine, and any vendor offering you one has invented the number. Worked through properly, the answer for some businesses is that they do not need a machine at all.
Quick answers — read this first
What should a business evaluate before buying a commercial scent machine? Eleven things: air volume (not floor area), ceiling height, how sealed the building is, door and vehicle-door exposure, shared HVAC and where the return sits, dwell time, repeat-visit frequency, staff hours, new-construction off-gassing, who holds the app and key-lock, and whether a source odour needs fixing first. There is no ROI calculation for a scent machine, and a business may honestly conclude it does not need one at all.

Is there a return-on-investment calculation for a commercial scent machine? No. There is no honest, attributable mechanism connecting fragrance to revenue, footfall or retention, and any vendor offering an ROI figure for a scent machine has invented the number. The honest evaluation is about the space's physical characteristics, not a financial return.

Do all Noida and Greater Noida businesses need a scent machine? No. Working through the full evaluation checklist can honestly conclude that a small, well-ventilated, already-clean space with low footfall does not need a machine at all - a SOSA reed diffuser, or nothing, is sometimes the right answer.
The short answer
Short answer: evaluate eleven things: air volume (not floor area), ceiling height, how sealed the building is, door and vehicle-door exposure, shared HVAC and the return location, dwell time, repeat-visit frequency, staff hours, new-construction off-gassing, who holds the app and key-lock, and whether a source odour needs fixing first. There is no ROI calculation for a scent machine - any vendor offering one has invented the number - and the honest answer for some businesses is that no machine is needed at all.
The pick: a SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) for most sealed single-zone receptions under 1000m³, a SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) for a larger or shared-HVAC volume, or honestly, sometimes, no machine at all.

The shortlist once the checklist is complete
Straight answer
What should a Noida or Greater Noida business evaluate before buying a commercial scent machine?
Work through eleven things, in this order, before spending anything. Volume, not floor area - multiply length by width by height and divide by 35.3 to get cubic metres, since a tall ceiling changes the answer more than floor area alone ever will. Ceiling height deserves its own line, because a double-height space is often a different machine class entirely, not just a stronger setting on the same one. How sealed the building is - a Noida or Greater Noida space runs air-conditioned through summer and closed against cold and dust in winter, so fragrance accumulates faster than intuition suggests, and the honest starting setting is almost always lower than an owner's first instinct. Door and vehicle-door exposure - a frequently opening entrance, or a showroom's vehicle doors, is a genuine air-exchange event that changes placement more than it changes the machine, and a large vehicle door can defeat any machine's ability to hold a level nearby at all. Shared HVAC and where the return sits is the check almost everyone skips and often the one that matters most: you cannot scent one zone "only" if it shares an air-conditioning return with a space you meant to leave neutral - the boundary is air handling, not intention, and the way to check is to stand in the neutral zone at day's end. Dwell time changes the plan too - ten minutes browsing is different from an hour waiting, which is different again from thirty to sixty minutes at close range with a clinician. Repeat-visit frequency is the most counter-intuitive item: a business whose customers return two or three times a week needs a more restrained setting than one seeing mostly first-timers, not a stronger one, because a repeat visitor's nose adapts almost exactly the way staff's noses do. Staff hours matter because anyone in the building eight to ten hours a day gets no relief from a scent they did not choose, which is reason enough to keep general work areas neutral. New-construction off-gassing - laminate adhesive, paint, sealant and new carpet are releasing real, temporary compounds as they cure, and fragrance does not touch that process; the honest test is a criterion, not a date, someone in from fifteen minutes outside cannot smell the fit-out, repeated weekly - and the corollary worth remembering is that a new, sealed building often needs LESS machine than an old one, once that process ends. Who holds the app and the key-lock matters operationally - the SOSA Vaayu's app is Bluetooth and short-range, on-site control only, with no cloud dashboard, so a single named person needs to hold it and be reachable to switch it off fast. And finally, whether a source odour needs fixing first - damp, a clogged filter, a dry drain trap, old carpet, a pantry - none of which fragrance solves, and scenting over one only gives a visitor both smells at once. There is no ROI calculation for a scent machine anywhere in this list, and any vendor offering you one has invented the number. Work through all eleven honestly, and one of three answers falls out: most 700-3,000 sq ft receptions land on one SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999); a genuinely larger, taller, or shared-HVAC volume lands on one SOSA Angaan (₹25,999); and sometimes, honestly, you may not need a machine at all. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

Work through the eleven-point checklist honestly and it usually lands on one SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) for a sealed single-zone reception, or one SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) for a larger or shared-HVAC volume. Occasionally it lands on neither - and that answer is given just as plainly.

The eleven-point checklist, worked through honestly

Eleven things decide the honest answer, grouped here into three questions: what the space physically is, how it is actually used, and whether it needs a machine at all.

1
What the space physically is
Volume, ceiling height, sealing, doors, and the HVAC return
Measure air volume by length times width times height divided by 35.3, not floor area - ceiling height changes the number more than most owners expect, and a double-height space is often a different machine class entirely. Check how sealed the building is; a Noida or Greater Noida space runs air-conditioned through summer and closed in winter, so fragrance accumulates faster than intuition suggests. Note door and vehicle-door exposure, since a frequently opened entrance or a large vehicle door is a genuine air-exchange event nothing holds a level against. And check where the HVAC return sits - you cannot scent one zone "only" if it shares a return with a space meant to stay neutral, because the boundary is air handling, not intention.
Tip: volume, ceiling, sealing, doors, HVAC return - five checks that decide the machine before intensity is even discussed.

A Vaayu at 1000m³ fits most sealed, single-zone spaces once these five checks are done.

2
How the space is actually used
Dwell time, repeat-visit frequency, staff hours, and off-gassing
Dwell time changes everything - ten minutes browsing differs from an hour waiting, and both differ from thirty to sixty minutes at close range with a clinician. Repeat-visit frequency is counter-intuitive: a business seeing the same customers two or three times a week needs a more restrained setting, not a stronger one, because a repeat visitor adapts almost exactly like staff do. Staff hours matter because anyone in a building all day gets no relief from a scent they did not choose. And a new building's off-gassing - real, temporary, and unaffected by fragrance - needs a fresh-nose criterion, tested weekly, not a fixed date; once it ends, a new sealed building often needs LESS machine than an old one, not more.
SOSA Angaan
A larger, shared-HVAC volume, once these usage patterns are understood, is often the honest case for an Angaan.
See SOSA Angaan →
3
Whether it needs a machine at all
A source odour first, an app-holder second, and an honest no when that is the answer
Before any machine enters the conversation, check whether a source odour needs fixing first - damp, a clogged filter, a dry drain trap, old carpet, a pantry. None of these are solved by fragrance, and scenting over one gives both smells at once. Decide who holds the app and key-lock, since the app is Bluetooth and short-range, on-site only, with no cloud dashboard. And be honest about the final outcome: a small, well-ventilated, already-clean space with low footfall and no repeat-visit pressure may not need a machine at all - and that answer should be given as plainly as any other.
Tip: there is no ROI calculation anywhere in this checklist - and sometimes the honest answer is no machine at all.
SOSA Vaayu
Where a Vaayu is genuinely warranted, it is the honest, restrained choice once every other check is done.

The SOSA principle
Eleven honest questions produce one of three answers: a Vaayu, an Angaan, or the answer some businesses need most and hear least - that they do not need a machine at all.
None of the eleven questions is financial. All of them are about the room you actually have.
SOSA Vaayu
Volume, not floor area: Length x width x height ÷ 35.3 = m³ - the number that actually decides the machine, ₹11,999.

Most vendors shorten this checklist to a single question - how big is the room - and skip straight to a sales figure. The full eleven points take longer to work through and sometimes end with "you do not need this," which is exactly why they are worth working through properly. A free Noida scenting plan will go through all eleven with you, honestly, before anything is sold.

A note from Sonal

This is the checklist I actually use, and I am going to give it to you in full rather than the shortened version most vendors offer, because the shortened version always ends the same way - at a bigger machine than the room needs. I also want to say the most important sentence in this whole page before anything else: there is no ROI calculation for a commercial scent machine, and any vendor offering you one has invented the number. Nothing that follows changes that. What follows instead is everything that genuinely determines whether you need a machine, which one, and how it should be run - and it is entirely possible, after working through it honestly, that the answer for your business is that you do not need one at all. I would rather tell you that than sell you something you do not.

1. Volume, not floor area. Multiply length by width by height and divide by 35.3 to get cubic metres - a tall ceiling changes the answer more than most owners expect, and floor area alone will mislead you in a double-height hall or a showroom with vehicle doors just as easily as it will in a modest reception. 2. Ceiling height, specifically. It deserves its own line because a 10 ft room and a 20 ft room at the same floor area are two entirely different scenting problems, and a double-height space very often needs a different machine class entirely, not just a stronger setting on the same one. 3. How sealed the building is. A Noida or Greater Noida commercial space runs air-conditioned through the long summer and closed against cold and dust in winter, so fragrance accumulates far faster than intuition suggests, and the honest starting setting is almost always lower than an owner's first instinct. 4. Door and vehicle-door exposure. A frequently opening entrance, or a showroom's vehicle doors, is a genuine air-exchange event that changes placement more than it changes the machine - and in the case of a large vehicle door, it can defeat any machine's ability to hold a level nearby at all. 5. Shared HVAC and where the return sits. This is the check almost every owner skips, and it is often the one that matters most: you cannot scent a lobby, a reception, or any single zone "only" if that zone shares an air-conditioning return with a space you never intended to scent. The boundary is air handling, not intention - stand in the zone you meant to leave neutral, at the end of the day, and check.

6. Dwell time. A space where people wait or browse for ten minutes is a different scenting problem from one where they sit for an hour, and both are different again from one where a therapist or doctor works at close range with a patient for thirty to sixty minutes. 7. Repeat-visit frequency. This is the most counter-intuitive item on the list: a business whose customers or patients return two or three times a week needs a more restrained setting than one that sees mostly first-timers, not a stronger one, because a repeat visitor's nose adapts to a fixed scent almost exactly the way staff's noses do. 8. Staff hours. Anyone in the building eight to ten hours a day gets no relief from a scent they did not choose, and that alone is reason to keep general work areas neutral regardless of how a client-facing zone is scented. 9. New-construction off-gassing. Fresh laminate adhesive, paint, sealant and new carpet backing are releasing real, temporary compounds as they cure, and fragrance does not touch that process - it only adds a second smell on top of it, which is the most recognisable "cheap new shop" smell there is. The honest test is a criterion, not a date: someone in from fifteen minutes outside cannot smell the fit-out. Repeat weekly. And here is the corollary worth remembering: a new, sealed building often needs LESS machine than an old one, because once off-gassing ends there is no odour already accumulated in the fabric to compete with. 10. Who holds the app and the key-lock. The SOSA Vaayu's app is Bluetooth and short-range, on-site control only - there is no cloud dashboard, whatever a facilities manager assumes - so a single named person needs to hold it, know the refill schedule, and be reachable to switch it off fast if anyone raises a concern. 11. Whether a source odour needs fixing first. Damp, a clogged AC filter, a dry floor drain, old carpet backing, a pantry - none of these are solved by fragrance, and scenting over one gives a visitor both smells at once, which reads worse than either alone. Find and fix the source before any machine enters the conversation.

Work through all eleven honestly and one of three answers falls out. Most 700-3,000 sq ft receptions land on one SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999). A genuinely larger, taller, or shared-HVAC volume lands on one SOSA Angaan (₹25,999). And sometimes - a small, well-ventilated, already-clean room with low footfall and no repeat-visit pressure - the honest answer is that you may not need a machine at all. I will tell you that directly if that is what the checklist shows, because it is the only version of this advice I am willing to give. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali on every order we do process.

Frequently asked questions

What should a business evaluate before buying a commercial scent machine?
Air volume by cubic metres rather than floor area, ceiling height, how sealed the building is, door and vehicle-door exposure, shared HVAC and where the return sits, dwell time, repeat-visit frequency, staff hours, new-construction off-gassing, who holds the app and key-lock, and whether a source odour needs fixing first.
Is there an ROI calculation for a commercial scent machine?
No. There is no honest, attributable mechanism connecting fragrance to revenue, footfall or retention, and any vendor offering an ROI figure has invented the number. The evaluation is about the physical space, never a financial return.
Does a business always need a scent machine?
No. A small, well-ventilated, already-clean space with low footfall and no repeat-visit pressure may not need one at all, and that is sometimes the honest answer this checklist produces.
Why does repeat-visit frequency matter when buying a scent machine?
A business whose customers return two or three times a week needs a more restrained setting, not a stronger one, because a repeat visitor's nose adapts to a fixed scent almost exactly the way staff's noses do.
Should a source odour be fixed before buying a scent machine?
Yes, always first. Damp, a clogged AC filter, a dry drain trap, old carpet backing and a pantry are not solved by fragrance, and scenting over an unresolved source gives a visitor both smells at once.

Facts verified 24 August 2026 against the live SOSA product pages: the SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) is a waterless cold-air nebuliser rated to 1000m³, described by the manufacturer as approximately 2,000-3,000 sq ft, with a 400ml refillable tank lasting up to about 75 days depending on intensity and run hours, Bluetooth app and button control (on-site, short-range only, no cloud dashboard), 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, operation under 38dB, freestanding or wall and HVAC mounting, auto-stop and key-lock, DC 12V/1A 5W power draw, and CE, RoHS and SGS certification. The SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) is an HVAC nebulising diffuser rated to 3,000m³, roughly 8,000-10,000 sq ft, with an 800ml reservoir, metal body, programmable schedules and operation under 42dB, connecting to the building's existing air handling or working standalone wall-mounted. Scent enhances the ambience and perceived quality of a space; it works alongside proper ventilation and cleaning and is not a substitute for either, and SOSA makes no claim that fragrance alone influences a purchase decision. The hotel-inspired scents are SOSA's own original interpretations; SOSA is an independent brand and is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any hotel named for reference.
