The stone showrooms I walk into are almost always over-scented, and their owners are almost always surprised to hear it, because they set the level using a number that worked somewhere else. A hard room is a different acoustic in every sense.
Quick answers — read this first
What fragrance complements marble and stone kitchen displays? Cool, mineral and dry - the clean-stone end of the register rather than the woody end, with dry green or a dry non-lemony citrus if you want any lift at all. What matters more than the shortlist is the level. A stone-led showroom is the easiest room in this whole guide to over-scent, because there is nothing soft in it: no timber, no upholstery, no textiles, just hard reflective surfaces, glass and polished floor. Set it lower than you would anywhere else and judge it seated.

Why does the same setting feel stronger in a stone showroom? Because a hard room presents everything more directly. There is very little in it to soften or interrupt anything, and the same brightness that makes stone displays look expensive under good lighting makes a fragrance feel more present than the identical setting does in a wood-led room. Treat any number that worked in another showroom as a starting point to come down from, not a specification to match. This is judgement rather than physics, and the only real test is sitting in the room.

What do I buy, and what does it cost? Past about 1,500 sq ft, one SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999, run near the bottom of its intensity range and key-locked there. Under about 750 sq ft, one SOSA Sukoon at ₹1,899 - and at that size a Vaayu is the wrong buy, because you would be paying six times the price for a machine rated for several times your volume.
The short answer
Short answer: cool, mineral and dry - the clean-stone end of the register, with dry green or a dry non-lemony citrus for lift. The register matters less than the level: a stone-led showroom has no timber, textiles or upholstery in it, so the same setting that reads correct in a wood room reads loud here. Run a Vaayu (₹11,999) near the bottom of its range, or a Sukoon (₹1,899) under about 750 sq ft.
The pick: one SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) at a deliberately low setting for a stone floor past about 1,500 sq ft, or one SOSA Sukoon (₹1,899) where the showroom is a single room under about 750 sq ft.
Next step: tell us the floor area, the ceiling height and what the floor finish is, and we will suggest a starting setting on the low side of what you would expect - Ask for a retail scenting plan.

Straight answer
What fragrance complements marble and stone kitchen displays?
Cool, mineral and dry - and then, more importantly, lower than you think. On register: a showroom built around marble, quartz, granite and stone worktops is a cool, bright, hard-edged room, and the fragrance that agrees with it is the clean-stone end of what I recommend anywhere - mineral, dry, faintly green, with a dry non-lemony citrus if you want any lift at all. What it must not be is warm, sweet, powdery, floral or in any way edible. A sweet amber in a marble room is the same mistake as a sweet amber in a dark-wood room but louder, because there is nothing in a stone showroom to absorb the misjudgement. And the edible register is ruled out here for the same reason it is ruled out everywhere in this guide: a brand selling ₹5-10 lakh cabinetry that smells of vanilla or coffee reads as a café, which is why our own Fresh Brew at ₹849 is named and excluded from this vertical. Now the part that actually matters, because most people get the family right and the number wrong. A stone-led showroom is the easiest room in this cluster to over-scent. Think about what is physically in it: polished stone, glass, metal, a hard floor, tall reflective surfaces, and almost nothing soft. No timber, no upholstery, no rugs, no curtains. Everything in a room like that presents itself more directly - it is why the space sounds different when you walk in, and why the lighting has to be handled more carefully than in a wood showroom. My honest position is that the same setting that reads as correct on a timber floor reads as loud on a stone one, and that this is a matter of judgement rather than something I can hand you as a formula. So the working rule is: whatever number worked in another showroom, treat it as a ceiling to come down from rather than a target to match. Then measure it properly: sit at the consultation table for a full ninety minutes rather than walking the floor, because exposure compounds and walking the floor is how every over-scented showroom got that way. Ask the designers who breathe it all week and treat a yes-but as a no. On hardware: past about 1,500 sq ft one SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999, run near the bottom of its intensity range and key-locked there so nobody nudges it upward; under about 750 sq ft one SOSA Sukoon at ₹1,899, where a Vaayu would plainly be the wrong buy. It is waterless, so it adds no moisture to the room and leaves no residue on surfaces - a fact about the machine, and I make no claim in either direction about what any of this does to stone, sealer or a worktop finish, which is a question for whoever supplied them. Ambient scent is a presentation decision, never a cover for another smell, and no one can promise you it moves a business number. Ask for a retail scenting plan.
Cool, mineral and dry, and then lower than you think. A stone room has nothing soft in it, so everything in it reads more directly - treat a setting that worked elsewhere as a ceiling to come down from. ₹11,999 past 1,500 sq ft, ₹1,899 under 750, judged from the consultation seat.
For a stone floor past about 1,500 sq ft, one SOSA Vaayu - waterless, adjustable intensity you will use the low end of, under 38dB, with 1h/4h/8h/24h timers and a key-lock. ₹11,999. Under about 750 sq ft the honest buy is a Sukoon at ₹1,899 and a Vaayu is the wrong machine.

The machine, and the setting it runs at

Two honest answers by size, with the same instruction attached to both: whatever you set, set it lower here than you would in a timber showroom.

SOSA Vaayu
For a stone-led floor past about 1,500 sq ft
SOSA Vaayu
Waterless cold-air nebuliser rated to 1000m³, roughly 2,000-3,000 sq ft. 400ml tank running 90+ days a fill, Bluetooth app with 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, adjustable intensity, under 38dB, 5W, auto-stop and key-lock. In a stone showroom the adjustable intensity and the key-lock are the two features you are actually buying.
From ₹11,999
SOSA Sukoon
Under about 750 sq ft - buy this instead
SOSA Sukoon
Ultrasonic cool-mist diffuser covering roughly 270-320 sq ft, supplied with three 15ml fragrances. For a single-room stone studio this is the honest buy at ₹1,899, and a Vaayu at six times the price would be rated for several times the volume you have.
From ₹1,899
SOSA Vaayu
The showroom machine for a hard, bright, stone-led floor
SOSA Vaayu
1000m³ coverage (about 2,000-3,000 sq ft), 400ml tank running 90+ days a fill, Bluetooth app and 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, adjustable intensity, under 38dB, 5W, freestanding or wall and HVAC mount, auto-stop and key-lock. CE, RoHS and SGS certified. Made in India. Waterless, so it adds no moisture to the room and leaves no residue on surfaces. Cold-air refill oil is not currently sold separately - the machine ships with 400ml and further supply should be confirmed with SOSA.

The three things a hard room changes

One about register, one about level, and one about where the machine physically goes - which in a stone showroom is less obvious than it looks.

1
Match the temperature of the material
Stone is cool, so the fragrance is cool
Marble, quartz and granite read as cool, hard and precise, and the register that agrees with them is mineral and dry rather than woody and generous. Think clean stone, dry green, a dry non-lemony citrus for lift - and nothing warm, nothing sweet, nothing powdery and nothing edible. A warm amber against polished stone does not add richness, it adds a second idea that the room visibly does not share, and customers register that mismatch without being able to name it. If your floor mixes stone with a lot of timber, go dry rather than choosing sides, because dryness is the quality both materials have in common and the one that lets a single profile serve a mixed floor.
Tip: The word to aim for is clean rather than fresh, and certainly not cosy.
SOSA Vaayu
One Vaayu ₹11,999, set once and left alone, is the whole hardware side of this.

2
Come down on the number
There is nothing soft in the room, and it shows
A stone showroom contains almost nothing that softens anything: no timber, no upholstery, no textiles, no rugs. Everything in it presents more directly, which is exactly why it looks so good under considered lighting and exactly why it is the easiest room here to over-scent. My honest advice is judgement rather than arithmetic, because there is no formula I can defend: take whatever setting worked in another showroom and treat it as a ceiling to come down from. Then measure it properly by sitting at the consultation table for a full ninety minutes instead of walking the floor, and by asking the designers who are in it nine hours a day. A yes-but from them is a no.
Tip: If a customer can name the fragrance, you are two steps too high.
SOSA Vaayu
One Vaayu ₹11,999, set once and left alone, is the whole hardware side of this.

3
Keep the machine off the displays
A hard, open floor makes placement more visible, not less
In a stone showroom there is nowhere for a machine to disappear, so people put it where it looks tidy rather than where the air is. Follow the air instead: near where air enters the room, roughly a metre up, out of the direct pull of the AC return, never at the door where a glass frontage keeps exchanging the air, and never inside or on a display. A unit sitting on a marble island is both the worst place for distribution and the first thing a customer notices, which is a rare case of the aesthetic answer and the technical answer agreeing completely. Wall or HVAC mounting solves both at once and gets the entrance and the consultation area onto the same air.
SOSA Vaayu
Placement is free. Moving a machine beats turning one up, every time.

The SOSA principle
Stone showrooms fail on the number rather than the note. There is nothing soft in a hard room to take the edge off a misjudgement, so the setting that felt considered in a timber showroom arrives here as a statement.
Which is why I would rather send a stone-led floor away with a setting that feels slightly too quiet on day one.
SOSA Vaayu
Adjustable intensity, used downward: SOSA Vaayu runs at a low setting on a stone floor, and the key-lock is what keeps it there once you have found the number. ₹11,999.

The plan, surface by surface

The register is one decision for the whole floor. What changes from display to display is nothing at all, which is the point of the table below.

The SOSA plan
How a stone-led showroom sets its register and its level
The surface What to do
Marble and natural stone
Cool, mineral, dry. The register agrees with the material rather than contrasting with it, and no display gets a profile of its own.
Quartz and engineered surfaces
The same profile at the same level. These share one volume of air with everything else, so a separate fragrance per display is not achievable anyway.
Stone mixed with timber displays
Still one profile, and the answer is dry rather than a compromise between woody and mineral - dryness is what both materials have in common.
Polished floor, glass and metal
The reason the level comes down. Nothing here softens anything, so treat a setting from another showroom as a ceiling.
SOSA VaayuConsultation seat, past 1,500 sq ft
Where the level is actually judged, at minute ninety. One Vaayu at ₹11,999, low and key-locked.
SOSA SukoonA single stone room under 750 sq ft
One Sukoon at ₹1,899 rather than a Vaayu, because the volume does not justify six times the price.

The white-and-grey version of this room, which shares the hardness but not the veining, is covered in the best fragrance for a minimal white-and-grey showroom. And if your floor mixes stone, timber and classic displays, the governing answer is in how fragrance changes between modern, classic and luxury displays. SOSA is independent and not affiliated with any hotel.

SOSA Vaayu
Waterless by design: It adds no moisture to the room and leaves no residue on surfaces - a fact about the machine, not a claim about your stone or its sealer.
Right family, lower number
The SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999 has adjustable intensity and a key-lock, which in a stone showroom are the two features that matter.
See the SOSA Vaayu Book a scenting plan
Every over-scented showroom I have walked into was set by somebody standing up. In a stone room that error is twice as expensive, because there is nothing on the floor to take the edge off it.

Cold-air refill oil is not currently sold separately, so the 400ml supplied runs 90+ days a fill and further supply should be confirmed with SOSA before a rollout. Take the register from the material and the level from the consultation seat at minute ninety, and in a stone room start lower than the number that worked elsewhere. I make no claim in either direction about what ambient scent does to stone, sealers or worktop finishes - that is a question for whoever supplied them. Ambient scent here is a presentation decision like lighting or display styling, and it is never used to cover another smell or to substitute for ventilation. And plainly: no one can promise you that ambient scent moves footfall, enquiries or order value, and a supplier quoting you a figure is selling. A note from Sonal

The question I am asked is which fragrance suits marble, and the question I end up answering is how loud it should be, because in a stone showroom the second one decides the outcome. Owners arrive having chosen a perfectly good direction - something clean, something mineral - and then set it at a number somebody gave them for a different building. Then they cannot work out why the room feels like it is trying.

A stone-led floor is a hard room. Polished surfaces, glass, metal, a hard floor, tall reflective displays and almost nothing soft anywhere in it. You can hear the difference the moment you walk in, and my experience is that you notice a fragrance more directly in a room like that than in one full of timber and texture. I cannot give you that as a formula and I will not pretend to. What I can give you is the working rule I use: take whatever setting worked in another showroom and come down from it, then sit at the consultation table for a full ninety minutes and decide from that chair rather than from the aisle. Ask your designers too, because they are in it all week and you are not, and treat a yes-but as a no.

On hardware, past about 1,500 sq ft it is one Vaayu at ₹11,999, run near the bottom of its range and key-locked there. Under about 750 sq ft it is a Sukoon at ₹1,899 and a Vaayu would be the wrong buy at six times the price. Past roughly 5,000 sq ft the conversation becomes an Aangan into your air handling. Made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

Frequently asked questions

What fragrance complements marble and stone kitchen displays?
Cool, mineral and dry - the clean-stone end of the register, with dry green or a dry non-lemony citrus if you want lift. Nothing warm, sweet, powdery, floral or edible. The level matters more than the note here: a stone showroom has no timber, textiles or upholstery in it, so it is the easiest room in this guide to over-scent. Run a Vaayu at Rs 11,999 near the bottom of its range.
Why does the same setting feel stronger in a stone showroom?
Because a hard, bright room presents everything more directly and there is nothing soft in it to take the edge off anything. This is judgement from walking a lot of showrooms rather than a formula I can defend with a number, so treat it as a direction: take the setting that worked in a timber-led room and come down from it, then confirm from the consultation seat rather than from the aisle.
Will a scent machine affect my stone, sealer or worktop finishes?
I make no claim about that in either direction, because it is not a perfumer's question. What can honestly be said is a fact about the machine: the Vaayu is waterless, so it adds no moisture to the room and leaves no residue on surfaces. Whether room humidity matters to a particular stone, sealer or engineered surface is a question for whoever supplied them, and they will answer it properly.
Where should the machine go in an open stone showroom?
Follow the air rather than the floor plan. Near where air enters the room, roughly a metre up, out of the direct pull of the AC return, never at the door where a glass frontage keeps exchanging air, and never on or inside a display. A unit sitting on a marble island is both the worst place for distribution and the first thing a customer sees. Wall or HVAC mounting solves both problems at once.
Can different stone displays have different fragrances?
No, and the reason is physical rather than aesthetic. Display kitchens on one floor share a single volume of air, so anything you put into one arrives in the aisle beside the next, and what a customer actually experiences is a mixture rather than a sequence. Differentiate displays with materials, lighting and styling. One showroom, one profile, one level, judged from the seat where a customer spends longest.
SOSA Vaayu

About this guide: Written by Sonal Sahani, ISIPCA Versailles-trained founder and perfumer at SOSA Home & Body. Product recommendations reflect the SOSA range; the planning advice applies to any brand.

Facts verified 5 September 2026 against the live SOSA product pages: the SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) is a waterless cold-air nebuliser rated to 1000m³, described by the manufacturer as approximately 2,000-3,000 sq ft, with adjustable intensity, a 400ml refillable tank lasting 90+ days a fill depending on intensity and run hours, Bluetooth app and button control, 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, operation under 38dB at 5W, freestanding or wall and HVAC mounting, auto-stop and key-lock, and CE, RoHS and SGS certification, which are electrical and compliance marks and not medical approvals. Being waterless, it adds no moisture and leaves no residue on surfaces or equipment. The SOSA Sukoon (₹1,899) is an ultrasonic cool-mist diffuser covering roughly 270-320 sq ft and is supplied with three 15ml fragrances; the water-based Hotel Collection (₹299 / ₹999 / ₹1,799) is an ultrasonic fragrance and is not a refill for a waterless cold-air machine. SOSA reed diffusers are alcohol-free and phthalate-free, with 50ml lasting about 6-8 weeks and 130ml about 14-18 weeks. Cold-air refill oil for the Vaayu is not currently sold separately - the machine ships with 400ml included and further refills should be confirmed with SOSA. Warranty, annual maintenance, installation and bulk terms are not published and should be confirmed before ordering. Ambient scent is an interior and hospitality decision: it makes no clinical, therapeutic or wellbeing claim, it works alongside proper ventilation, cleaning and infection control and is never a substitute for any of them, it is never used to mask another smell, and no claim is made that fragrance influences a patient's decision or any commercial outcome.
