Almost every piece of shared-car fragrance advice begins with the person who wants the most and works downwards. Start at the other end. In a car that three people drive, the binding constraint is not the strongest preference in the household but the mildest one - because everybody else can be satisfied by turning something up, and the person who wants very little can only be satisfied by turning it off. A great many fragrance formats have no off. Once the question is put that way round, the choice between a spray and a hanging stops being about how long each one keeps going and becomes a much sharper one: does zero exist as a setting, and can one driver reach it without affecting the other two?
The decision in a three-driver cabin is not strength, it is authority: who is allowed to choose nothing, and on which journey? The 10ml spray is ₹449 to ₹549 and published at 100 sprays - three months and above at one a day, fifty days at two. The 12ml hanging is the same price and runs 4 to 6 weeks, with the stopper as its published strength control. One of those has a zero.
Quick answers — read this first
Is a controllable spray more practical than one continuous scent level when three people share a car? For this household, yes, and for one narrow reason rather than a general one: a spray has a zero and a continuous format does not. A 10ml SOSA spray is ₹449 to ₹549 and published at 100 sprays, so a journey on which nobody presses it is a journey with nothing added. A 12ml hanging at the same price runs 4 to 6 weeks whoever happens to be driving.
Does the car being electric change any of this? No. SOSA publishes no petrol product, no diesel product, no electric product and no powertrain claim of any kind. A fragrance sits in a closed volume of air with people in it, and three drivers sharing one cabin is the same situation in any vehicle. Overnight charging is not a fragrance variable either - the cabin is simply shut for eight or ten hours, which is equally true on any driveway.
How fast does one bottle go down when three people are using it? Faster than any one of them expects, and it is only division. A 10ml holds 100 sprays. If the car makes five journeys a day between the three of you and each one starts with a press, that is five a day and the bottle is gone inside a month. One press each morning by whoever drives first is the published 3 months and above at one spray a day.
The short answer
Short answer: In a car three people drive, let the person who wants the least fragrance choose the format, because only that person needs something the other two do not: zero. A SOSA 10ml spray is Rs 449 to Rs 549 and holds 100 sprays, so any single journey can have none at all. The 12ml hanging is the same price and runs 4 to 6 weeks continuously, which is one level for everybody. Nothing here changes because the car is electric.
The pick: A 10ml SOSA car perfume spray, ₹449 to ₹549 - 100 sprays, kept in the door pocket and pressed by whoever wants it on the journey they are driving.
Why: A continuous format holds one level for three people at once; a spray lets the quietest preference in the house be honoured on its own journeys without a conversation.
A car spends most of its life empty. The hours that matter are the ones somebody is sitting in it, and on a typical commute that is one or two out of twenty-four. The useful decision is therefore not which product lasts longest while nobody is there - it is whether you want fragrance you switch on or fragrance that simply runs. A 10ml spray is published at 100 sprays, which is three months at one a day and fifty days at two; a 12ml hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks and its stopper loosens for more or tightens for less. Nothing here depends on what is under the bonnet.
Three of us share our electric hatchback, it charges overnight, we all drive very different distances and one of us dislikes strong fragrance. Would a car perfume spray we can control be more practical than keeping one continuous scent level in the cabin?
Yes - and the reason is narrower and better than convenience. A shared car has to hold three preferences at once, and two of them are easy. Somebody who wants more can press twice. Somebody who wants a particular character can choose their own scent for their own drive. The person who wants very little is the hard one, because the only thing that satisfies that preference is the absence of the thing, and absence is not a setting every format has. That single observation settles the format before duration comes into it at all. A SOSA 10ml spray is ₹449 for Jasmine, ₹479 for Lavender and Sandalwood, ₹489 for Icy Mint, ₹499 for Lemon, ₹509 for Oud, Vetiver and Sea Breeze and ₹549 for Mysore Orange Blossom, and every one of them is published at 100 sprays, which the pages set out as 3 months and above at one spray a day, or 50 days at two a day. On a journey where nobody presses it, nothing is added, and that is the whole argument. The 12ml hanging costs exactly the same for the same scent and runs 4 to 6 weeks of continuous diffusion in a refillable glass bottle. Its stopper is a genuine published control - loosen it for stronger, tighten it for subtler - but it is a setting for the car rather than for the journey, held wherever the last person to touch it left it, and the driver who wants least cannot get below it without lifting the bottle out. Then the arithmetic, which moves quickly with three people. A hundred sprays is a hundred sprays. If the car makes five journeys a day between you and each begins with a press, that is five a day and the bottle is finished inside a month; if the agreed rule is one press each morning by whoever drives first, the same bottle runs the published three months and more. Neither figure is a fault in the product; only one of them is what somebody expected. Two limits stated plainly. The car being electric has nothing to do with any of this - SOSA publishes no powertrain-specific product and no powertrain claim, and overnight charging is not a fragrance variable, because what matters is that the cabin stays shut for eight or ten hours and that is equally true of any car on the same driveway. And fragrance adds a scent to a cabin; it does not remove, neutralise or mask an odour, so if the car has started to smell of something it did not before, that is a question about the car rather than about a bottle. A portion of every SOSA order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
The mildest preference in the house should choose the format, because only one of the two formats has a zero.
The quick version for a shared car: a 10ml spray at ₹449 to ₹549 holds 100 sprays and can be left untouched on the journeys where somebody wants nothing. The 12ml hanging is the same price, runs 4 to 6 weeks and holds one setting for all three of you. The format decides whether zero exists.
Three things a shared cabin decides, and the quietest preference decides most of them
A car three people drive is not one decision taken in turns. It is three decisions arriving in the same sealed cabin, and the cabin keeps whatever the last one left behind. Three things are worth separating before anybody buys anything, and the first is the one that usually gets decided last.
01
The quietest preference
Only one of you needs the format to have an off switch
Work through what each driver actually requires. The one who likes it strong can press twice, or choose a deeper scent and keep it for their own drives. The one who is indifferent needs nothing at all from the decision. The one who dislikes strong fragrance needs the absence of it, and no amount of adjustment produces absence unless the format is capable of zero. A spray is capable of zero on any given journey, for free, by nobody touching it. A continuous format is capable of less - the stopper is published as the strength control, loosened for stronger and tightened for subtler - but it holds one setting for the whole car and that setting belongs to whoever adjusted it last. That is not an argument against the hanging. It is an argument about which household it suits, and a household with a strong dissenting preference is not that household.
Tip: Everybody else can be satisfied by turning something up. One of you cannot.
02
Three rates, one bottle
A hundred sprays divides three ways faster than any of the three expects
This is where shared cars go wrong, and it is arithmetic rather than judgement. Suppose the long-distance driver presses once each way, the school-run driver presses once each morning, and the third presses before every errand. That is three habits drawing on one bottle and nobody holding the total. A 10ml is 100 sprays. At five presses a day it is finished inside a month; at one a day it runs the published 3 months and above at one spray a day. Both numbers are correct and only one of them matches what anybody imagined at the point of purchase. Two signals are worth watching, and neither requires anybody to be an expert: the bottle going down faster than expected is the measurable one, and a passenger saying something before any of the drivers does is the other.
03
The variable that is not one
Three drivers change the answer completely. The powertrain does not change it at all
Say it plainly, because the question arrives phrased around the car. SOSA publishes no petrol product, no diesel product and no electric product, and makes no claim anywhere that a fragrance behaves differently according to what is turning the wheels. A perfume sits in a closed volume of air with people in it, and that volume is indifferent to the drivetrain. Overnight charging is not a fragrance variable either. What is real is that the car is shut for eight or ten hours before the first drive of the day, and a car on a driveway is shut for eight or ten hours whether a cable is attached or not. The things that genuinely move this decision are the number of people with opinions, how far apart those opinions sit, how many separate journeys the car makes, and whether anybody opens a window.
Tip: Two households can need opposite routines, but never because one of them plugs in at night.
The one number that settles most of this
A 10ml spray is 100 sprays. The rest is division.
SOSA publishes the count on the bottle: a 10ml spray is 100 sprays, and the 50ml is 500 sprays and about a year and more. The pages state the working too - three months and above at one spray a day, and fifty days at two a day. That turns a vague question into an arithmetic one. Spray before every journey and somebody making four short trips a day is out of a 10ml in about twenty-five days; the same bottle in the hands of somebody who sprays once each morning lasts the published three months. Neither is wrong - but only one of them is what the person expected when they bought it. Work out your own number before you decide the product is not lasting, because a hundred sprays is a hundred sprays regardless of how the car is powered.
Settle it in this order and the household argument does not happen
Ask who wants the least fragrance, and let that answer choose the format.
Agree one rule out loud: a press when somebody wants it, none by default.
Count what the three of you actually use in a fortnight before sizing up.
Pick the scent last, and check it exists in the format you have settled on.
The SOSA principle
In a shared cabin the useful question is not how strong the fragrance ought to be. It is who is allowed to choose nothing, and on which journey.
Which is why format matters more than scent here, and why it helps enormously that the two formats cost the same.
Which format lets three drivers disagree without anybody having to negotiate
Because the spray and the hanging are the same price scent for scent, choosing is free of any money argument, and the range is genuinely spread out. Jasmine at ₹449 and Lavender at ₹479 sit at the softer end, with Lavender published as the softest of the range. Lemon at ₹499, Icy Mint at ₹489 and Sea Breeze at ₹509 are the bright ones. Sandalwood at ₹479, Vetiver at ₹509 and Oud at ₹509 are the deep end, Oud published as the deepest. Mysore Orange Blossom at ₹549 is spray only, with no hanging version - which matters here, because a household that has settled on the spray for control has one extra scent available to it that a hanging household does not.
The SOSA gift edit
Four ways to run a three-driver cabin, and where each one fails
The option
Who it suits, and where it fails
A 10ml spray in the door pocket, ₹449 to ₹549
100 sprays, and zero is available on any journey at no cost to anybody. It fails on memory and on totals: three people pressing at three rates will empty it faster than any one of them predicts, and nobody is keeping count.
A 12ml hanging, the same price
4 to 6 weeks of continuous diffusion, no input required, and the stopper loosens for stronger or tightens for subtler. It fails for this household specifically - one setting serves three preferences, and the person who wants least cannot get below it without removing the bottle.
A spray combo, 200 sprays across two scents
₹899 for Jasmine & Lemon or Jasmine & Lavender, ₹949 for Oud + Lemon or Sandalwood & Oud, published at 100 days at two a day rotating. It fails by adding a second character to a cabin already holding three opinions, and the third driver still has no vote.
Nothing in the car for a fortnight
Costs nothing and settles the argument with evidence rather than assertion - you find out whether the car needed anything and whose preference was actually driving the request. It fails only if you already know the answer, in which case skip it.
The format choice, and why price does not decide it
Spray or hanging - the same price, scent for scent
This is the unusual part of the SOSA car range and it makes the decision cleaner than it usually is: the spray and the hanging cost the same for any given scent - ₹449 for Jasmine, ₹479 for Lavender and Sandalwood, ₹489 for Icy Mint, ₹499 for Lemon, ₹509 for Oud, Vetiver and Sea Breeze. So you are not trading money against convenience; you are choosing between fragrance you decide to have and fragrance that is simply there. The spray is 100 sprays in 10ml and you control every one of them. The hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks in refillable glass and asks nothing of you, and its stopper is the strength control - loosen for stronger, tighten for subtler. One further practical difference that decides it for some people: 15ml refills exist for the hanging and there is no spray refill at all.
One practical difference is worth knowing before a shared household commits. 15ml refills exist for the hanging, from ₹399 across eight scents in a refillable glass bottle, and there is no spray refill at all, so a spray is replaced rather than topped up and Mysore Orange Blossom has no refill in either form. The whole range is alcohol-free, phthalate-free, paraben-free and IFRA-compliant, and formulated and tested for 45 degrees C heat and 85 per cent relative humidity - which is a statement about how the formula is built, not a claim that it behaves differently in one season or one parking bay. The Discovery Set publishes nine fixed combinations from ₹699, and you choose from those nine rather than assembling a trio of your own.
₹449 to ₹549, published at 100 sprays. Fragrance you decide to have, journey by journey - which is the format that suits a car occupied an hour or two a day.
The same price as the spray, published at 4 to 6 weeks in a refillable glass bottle. The stopper adjusts it - loosen for stronger, tighten for subtler - which is the only strength control SOSA publishes.
Three sprays from ₹699, or all nine at ₹2,999. Nine published combinations and those nine are the whole range - you pick from them, you do not assemble one.
from ₹699
The premise worth rejecting before anything else
A fragrance does not know what is turning the wheels.
There is no petrol product, no diesel product and no electric product in the SOSA range, and SOSA publishes nothing whatsoever about powertrain - because a perfume in a closed cabin behaves the same way whether that cabin is being pushed along by a battery or an engine. What genuinely differs between two owners is everything else: where the car is parked and for how long, how many separate journeys it makes in a day, how many of those hours anybody is actually inside it, whether the windows are open, and who else is in the car. Those are real variables and they change the answer completely. The published figures speak to them directly: a 10ml spray is 100 sprays, which is three months and more at one a day and fifty days at two; a 12ml hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks continuously with a stopper that loosens for more and tightens for less; the 50ml is 500 sprays and about a year and more. So when two people with identical cars need different answers, it is never because one of them is electric.
Tell SOSA how many hours a day somebody is actually sitting in the car, where it is parked and for how long, whether the windows are usually open or shut, and who else drives it - and you will be told which format and how much, including the times the honest answer is the hanging at the same price because you would rather not think about it.
Anybody who wants more fragrance can simply press again. The person who wants less has exactly one option, and the format has to contain it.
— Sonal Sahani, SOSA
The SOSA gifting range
Two questions settle almost every car fragrance decision, and neither of them is what the car runs on. How many hours a day is somebody actually sitting in it? A 25 km commute is about an hour; a field job can be four. That number decides how much of what you buy is experienced by anybody at all, because the rest of the day is a sealed cabin in a parking bay. Then: do you want fragrance you switch on, or fragrance that simply runs? The 10ml spray holds 100 sprays and does nothing until you press it; the 12ml hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks whether anybody is there or not, and its stopper loosens for stronger or tightens for subtler. They cost the same for the same scent, so price does not decide it - which is unusual, and useful.
The SOSA range, sorted by how much it asks of the person receiving it
Start from what the gift demands, not from what it costs
₹449 to ₹549 across nine scents. Published at 100 sprays - 3 months and above at one a day, 50 days at two a day. A fine-mist atomizer; one spray covers the cabin
The same price as the spray, scent for scent. Published at 4 to 6 weeks of continuous diffusion in a refillable glass bottle, and the stopper adjusts it - loosen for stronger, tighten for subtler
₹1,499, published at 500 sprays and about a year and more. The honest size when you already know the routine, and the wrong one while you are still working it out
₹899 for Jasmine & Lemon or Jasmine & Lavender; ₹949 for Oud + Lemon or Sandalwood & Oud. Spray combo (2 x 10ml) or hanging combo (2 x 12ml) at the same price. Four published pairs
₹399 to ₹449 across eight scents. There is no spray refill, and Orange Blossom has no refill at all - so if refilling matters, that decides the format for you
₹3,999, or ₹4,499 for the hotel-inspired sets. A different category from a spray or a hanging, and listed here so you can rule it in or out rather than wonder
from ₹3,999
The fact that answers most of these questions is a division sum. A 10ml spray is published at 100 sprays. Somebody who sprays before each of four short daily trips empties it in about twenty-five days; somebody who sprays once a day gets the published three months and more. The 50ml is 500 sprays and about a year and more. The 12ml hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks instead, continuously, and its stopper adjusts the strength - loosen for more, tighten for less. Spray and hanging are the same price scent for scent, so the choice is genuinely about how you want to use the car rather than what you want to spend. Everything is alcohol-free, phthalate-free and IFRA-compliant, formulated for 45 degrees C heat and 85 per cent humidity, made in India. Fragrance adds a scent to a cabin; it does not remove, neutralise, mask or purify an odour and it does not clean the air - so a car that has developed a smell is a question about the car, not about the perfume. Prices above are published retail prices; bulk orders are welcome and custom label or logo on product is available, with quantities settled on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531. SOSA is an Indian fragrance house based in Pune, sending orders across India. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
The honest spec sheet
What the SOSA car pages publish, and what they do not
Everything below is on the live product pages. Anything not on this list is not something a page like this should state.
The published quantities - a 10ml spray is 100 sprays, stated as 3 months and above at one a day and 50 days at two a day. The 50ml is 500 sprays and about a year and more, at ₹1,499. A spray combo is 200 sprays, stated as 100 days at two a day rotating. These are the only usage figures SOSA gives.
The hanging - 4 to 6 weeks (28 to 42 days) of continuous diffusion per 12ml bottle, in refillable glass, and the stopper adjusts the strength: loosen for stronger, tighten for subtler.
Combos and the Discovery Set - four published pairs at ₹899 and ₹949, as a spray combo (2 x 10ml) or a hanging combo (2 x 12ml) at the same price. The Discovery Set is ₹699 to ₹899 for three sprays and ₹2,999 for all nine. Those nine combinations are the entire set range and none is composed to order.
Refills - 15ml hanging refills at ₹399 to ₹449 across eight scents. There is no spray refill and Orange Blossom has no refill.
The formulation - alcohol-free, phthalate-free, paraben-free and IFRA-compliant, formulated for 45 degrees C heat and 85 per cent relative humidity, made in India.

ISIPCA Versailles
A note from Sonal
We get asked which car perfume is right for an electric car, and I have never been able to give the answer the question wants. There isn't one. A fragrance sits in a closed box of air with a person in it, and that box does not behave differently because the thing moving it is a battery. If anyone tells you otherwise they are selling you a category, not a product.
What I can tell you is what actually changes between two owners, because it is not subtle. One car is occupied ninety minutes a day and another is occupied six. One sits in a basement and one bakes outdoors for nine hours. One has the windows down for the first ten minutes of every drive and one never opens them at all. One is driven by three people who want three different things from it. Those differences are enormous, and none of them is on the spec sheet of the car.
So the numbers I would want you to hold on to are the ones about use rather than about chemistry. A 10ml spray is a hundred sprays. That is three months if you spray once a day and about fifty days if you spray twice, and if you spray before every one of four short errands it is gone in under a month. The hanging runs four to six weeks and you can loosen or tighten the stopper to change it. Those two facts settle more of these questions than anything I could tell you about the car.
And the part I will not pretend about: a perfume cannot fix a smell. It adds a scent, it does not remove one. If a car has started smelling of something it did not smell of before, that is a question about the car - the air-conditioning, the mats, something in the boot, water that got in during the monsoon - and adding fragrance on top of it is the one thing I would ask you not to do.
Frequently asked questions
Does an electric hatchback shared by three drivers need a different car perfume?
No. SOSA publishes no petrol, diesel or electric product and no powertrain claim of any kind, so nothing about the drivetrain enters this decision. What changes the answer is that three people with three preferences are using one sealed cabin at three different rates. That is a control problem, and it is the same control problem in any car.
Can the hanging be turned down for one person?
The stopper is published as the strength control - loosen it for stronger, tighten it for subtler - so it can be turned down. What it cannot do is be turned down for one driver and back up for the next, because it is a setting on the car rather than a choice per journey, and it stays wherever the last person left it. That is the whole difference between the two formats in a shared household.
How quickly does one bottle go down when three people share it?
Work it out rather than guess. A 10ml is 100 sprays. The published working is 3 months and above at one spray a day, or 50 days at two a day. Three drivers pressing before five separate journeys a day is five a day, and that bottle is finished inside a month. Nothing is wrong with it; the rate is simply higher than one person would have assumed.
Is there a spray refill for a car several people use?
No. There is no spray refill anywhere in the range. The 15ml refills are for the hanging only, from Rs 399 across eight scents, and Mysore Orange Blossom has no refill at all. So a shared household choosing the spray is choosing to replace bottles, and choosing the hanging is choosing to top one up.
Does charging the car overnight affect the fragrance in the cabin?
No. Charging is not a fragrance variable and SOSA publishes nothing about it. The relevant fact is the one that would apply to any car parked on the same driveway: the cabin is closed for eight or ten hours before somebody gets in. Who gets in first, and what they do in the first minute, matters far more than the cable.
Take the next step
Let the quietest preference choose, then agree the rule

What is not published, and is therefore not stated here: any difference in fragrance behaviour between petrol, diesel and electric vehicles - SOSA makes no powertrain-specific product and no powertrain claim; any cabin-volume, coverage, scent-throw, projection or evaporation figure; any claim about how a scent is perceived over hours or about sensory adaptation; any seasonal performance claim beyond the stated formulation for heat and humidity; any shelf life, expiry or concentration; and any bulk rate, minimum quantity, price break or lead time. Limits of this guide: fragrance adds a scent to a cabin. It does not remove, neutralise, mask or purify an odour, it does not clean the air, and a car that has developed a new smell is a question about the vehicle rather than about perfume. No health claim is made anywhere on this page, in either direction - nothing here states or implies that any fragrance causes or prevents a headache, nausea, motion sickness or any other effect, and nothing is said about safety in pregnancy or for children or the elderly, because SOSA publishes no information this page can rely on. No third-party brand is named and no competitor or category of competing product is characterised. No rating, review count, strength percentage or customer name from any product page is cited. Bulk orders are welcome and custom label or logo on product is available; that is the only branding option, and quantities are settled on WhatsApp. SOSA Home & Body is an Indian fragrance house based in Pune, Maharashtra, sending orders across India, with no shop, showroom, stockist, counter or warehouse in any other city.
