This is the question on which it would be easiest to sound authoritative and hardest to be honest, so let us take the honest route. You are sitting in a hatchback that is shut, cooled and not moving, for half an hour or more, and the fragrance seems to be building rather than settling. You may well be right about what you are noticing. What this page will not do is tell you why. SOSA publishes no air-exchange figure, no evaporation figure and no accumulation figure, so any mechanism offered here would be invented, and an invented mechanism is worse than none. What is published is narrower and more useful than a theory: the number of sprays in a bottle, and the stopper that adjusts a hanging. Those are your two controls, and a stationary shut cabin is precisely the situation in which taking the lower setting costs you almost nothing.
SOSA car perfume, spray or hanging, from Rs 449
SOSA car perfume · spray or hanging, same price · nine scents from ₹449 →
The decision behind almost every version of this question, and it is not about the car: do you want fragrance you switch on, or fragrance that simply runs? The 10ml spray is ₹449 to ₹549 and published at 100 sprays - three months and more at one a day, fifty days at two. The 12ml hanging is the same price, published at 4 to 6 weeks, and its stopper loosens for stronger or tightens for subtler. Nothing here changes with the powertrain.
Quick answers — read this first
Does fragrance build up in a closed car that is not moving? That is a reasonable thing to notice, and it may well match your experience - but SOSA publishes no air-exchange, evaporation or accumulation figure, so no mechanism can be asserted here and none will be. The practical position is simpler: you have two published controls, how many times you press the spray and how far the hanging's stopper is opened, and a shut, still cabin is where the lower setting costs least.

So what should you actually do during a long stationary stop? Take one press rather than two, and if you use the hanging, tighten the stopper before the stop rather than during it. Open a door or a window once in the middle of a long wait. None of that requires a theory to justify it - it is simply the lower-risk version of the same decision, and it costs nothing if it turns out to have been unnecessary.

Does the car being electric or on charge change any of this? No. SOSA publishes no petrol, diesel or electric product and nothing at all about charging. A shut car with a person in it and the air conditioning on is the same situation whatever is turning the wheels, and a petrol hatchback idling in a car park with the windows up is the same picture without the cable.
The short answer
Short answer: Take the lower amount. SOSA publishes no air-exchange, evaporation or accumulation figure, so no mechanism can be claimed here. What is published is the count and the control: a 10ml spray is 100 sprays, one press covers the cabin, and the 12ml hanging's stopper loosens for stronger or tightens for subtler. A shut, still cabin is where taking less costs least. The 10ml is Rs 449 to Rs 549.
The pick: A 12ml SOSA hanging car perfume, ₹449 to ₹509 - 4 to 6 weeks in refillable glass, with a stopper you can tighten before a long stationary stop.
Why: The hanging is the only format in the range with a published adjustment on it, which makes it the one that can be turned down in advance of a situation rather than after it.
What the car runs on is not the variable. How it is used is.On demand - 10ml spray ₹449 to ₹549, published at 100 spraysContinuous - 12ml hanging, same price, 4 to 6 weeksVentilate a hot or long-shut cabin before you judge itNever - fragrance instead of finding a smell's source
A car spends most of its life empty. The hours that matter are the ones somebody is sitting in it, and on a typical commute that is one or two out of twenty-four. The useful decision is therefore not which product lasts longest while nobody is there - it is whether you want fragrance you switch on or fragrance that simply runs. A 10ml spray is published at 100 sprays, which is three months at one a day and fifty days at two; a 12ml hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks and its stopper loosens for more or tightens for less. Nothing here depends on what is under the bonnet.
Straight answer
If my EV remains closed and air-conditioned while stationary during a charging stop, could fragrance feel progressively stronger because there is relatively little fresh-air exchange?
You might notice exactly that, and this page is not going to tell you why. It would be easy to write a confident paragraph about air exchange in a sealed cabin, and it would be fabricated. SOSA publishes no air-exchange figure, no evaporation figure, no accumulation figure and no cabin-volume figure, and this bank does not state as fact anything the brand has not published. So here is what can honestly be said, which is narrower and more actionable than a mechanism. First: what you observe is yours to act on. If a shut, cooled, stationary cabin has consistently felt like more fragrance than you wanted, that observation is a perfectly good reason to change what you do, and it needs no theory underneath it. Second: the controls SOSA does publish are exactly two. One is the press count on the spray - a 10ml is 100 sprays, it is a fine-mist atomizer and one spray covers the cabin, and taking one instead of two is a control you already have. The other is the hanging: a 12ml runs 4 to 6 weeks in refillable glass and its stopper loosens for stronger or tightens for subtler, which is the only published adjustment anywhere in the range. Third: this is the situation where the lower setting costs least. If you take one press instead of two and the cabin turns out to have wanted two, you have lost nothing you cannot correct in a second. If you take two and wish you had taken one, you are sitting with it for the length of the stop with the doors shut. That asymmetry, not a mechanism, is the argument. Practically: tighten the stopper before a long stop rather than during one, and open a door or a window once in the middle of a long wait, which is free. None of this has anything to do with the powertrain - the same shut cabin exists in a petrol hatchback idling in a car park, and SOSA makes no powertrain claim anywhere. A portion of every SOSA order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
No mechanism is published, so none is claimed. One press, not two, and tighten the stopper first.
The honest version: no air-exchange, evaporation or accumulation figure is published, so none is claimed here. The published controls are the press count - a 10ml is 100 sprays at ₹449 to ₹549 - and the hanging's stopper, at the same price. In a shut, still cabin, set both low.
SOSA car perfumes from ₹449

What you can observe, what SOSA publishes, and the gap between the two

The reason this question is worth a whole page is that it is the one place where the honest answer and the confident answer point in the same direction for different reasons. Three things are worth separating: what you can see, what is published, and what to actually do.

01
What you can observe
Your own experience of the cabin is admissible evidence
Start here, because it is the part nobody needs permission for. If sitting in a shut, cooled, stationary car has repeatedly felt like more fragrance than you wanted, that is a real observation and it is enough to act on. You do not need a physical explanation to justify changing your own habit, and you should be suspicious of any page that offers you one with a number attached, because SOSA publishes no figure of that kind at all. The one thing worth adding is a second opinion: a passenger who gets in at the end of the stop is meeting the cabin rather than sitting in it, and what they say in their first few seconds is a useful cross-check on what you think you noticed. That is a point about who is better placed, and nothing more.
Tip: You can act on what you notice without anybody explaining it to you.
02
What is published
Two controls, both of them numbers you already have
The published disclosure is short and it is the whole of it. A 10ml spray holds 100 sprays, given as 3 months and above at one a day and 50 days at two a day; it is a fine-mist atomizer and one spray covers the cabin. A 12ml hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks of continuous diffusion in a refillable glass bottle, and its stopper loosens for stronger or tightens for subtler. The 50ml is 500 sprays and about a year and more at ₹1,499. That is the list. Nothing in it describes how air behaves in a shut cabin, how fast anything leaves a bottle, or what a temperature does to a scent - the only heat sentence SOSA publishes is that the range is formulated and tested for 45 degrees C and 85 per cent relative humidity, which is a statement about how the formula is built and not a performance curve.
03
What to do about it
The lower setting is the one with the cheaper mistake
This is the argument that does not need a mechanism, and it is the strongest thing on the page. The two possible errors here are not symmetrical. Take one press when the cabin wanted two and the correction is immediate and free - you press again. Take two when one would have done, in a car that is shut for the next forty minutes with you in it, and there is no correction available; you sit with the decision. So in a stationary, closed, cooled cabin, the lower amount is simply the better bet, and that is true whether or not anything is accumulating. The same logic applies to the hanging: tighten the stopper before the stop begins, because tightening it halfway through does not undo what is already there. And open a door once during a long wait. It costs nothing at all, and unlike a bottle it acts on the air already in the car.
Tip: Tighten the stopper before the stop, not during it. Afterwards is not a control.
SOSA Mysore Orange Blossom car perfume spray, 10ml and 50ml
The one number that settles most of this
A 10ml spray is 100 sprays. The rest is division.
SOSA publishes the count on the bottle: a 10ml spray is 100 sprays, and the 50ml is 500 sprays and about a year and more. The pages state the working too - three months and above at one spray a day, and fifty days at two a day. That turns a vague question into an arithmetic one. Spray before every journey and somebody making four short trips a day is out of a 10ml in about twenty-five days; the same bottle in the hands of somebody who sprays once each morning lasts the published three months. Neither is wrong - but only one of them is what the person expected when they bought it. Work out your own number before you decide the product is not lasting, because a hundred sprays is a hundred sprays regardless of how the car is powered.
See Mysore Orange Blossom from ₹549 →
Work it out in this order
What to do in a shut, still cabin, in order
  1. Take one press, not two. A 10ml is 100 sprays and one covers the cabin.
  2. If you use the hanging, tighten the stopper before the stop, never halfway through.
  3. Open a door or a window once during a long wait. It costs nothing.
  4. Ask whoever gets in at the end. They are better placed to judge than you are.
The SOSA principle
When a brand has published no mechanism, the honest page does not supply one. It hands you the two controls that are published and points out which mistake is cheaper.
Which in a shut, still, cooled cabin is not a close call: one press is correctable, two are not.

Which scent, and which format, for a cabin you sit in while it is still

If the situation you are designing for is sitting in a closed cabin for half an hour at a time, the softer end of the range is worth a look - not because anything is published about intensity in a stationary car, but because a scent you like at a low setting is easier to live with than one you are constantly adjusting. Lavender at ₹479 is published as the softest of the nine, with Jasmine at ₹449 beside it. Sandalwood at ₹479 sits deeper without going to the far end, and Vetiver at ₹509 and Oud at ₹509 are the deepest, Oud most of all. Lemon at ₹499, Icy Mint at ₹489 and Sea Breeze at ₹509 are the bright three. Mysore Orange Blossom at ₹549 is spray only, so it comes with no stopper to tighten.

The SOSA gift edit
Four settings for a cabin you sit in while it is shut, and where each one fails
The option Who it suits, and where it fails
One press instead of two The cheapest correction available: if it is too little you simply press again. It fails on nothing much, except that it asks you to resist a habit you have had for months.
A hanging with the stopper tightened The only published adjustment in the range, and it can be set before the stop rather than during it. It fails if you tighten it late, because that does not undo what is already in the cabin.
Open a door or window mid-stop Free, and the only thing here that acts on the air already in the car rather than adding to it. It fails on comfort - you are sitting in a cooled cabin for a reason, and opening it up undoes that for a while.
Spray as usual and sit with it Perfectly reasonable if you have tried the alternatives and prefer this. It fails when it is a default rather than a preference, because for the length of the stop there is no way back from a second press.
SOSA Lavender car perfume, spray and hanging formats
The format choice, and why price does not decide it
Spray or hanging - the same price, scent for scent
This is the unusual part of the SOSA car range and it makes the decision cleaner than it usually is: the spray and the hanging cost the same for any given scent - ₹449 for Jasmine, ₹479 for Lavender and Sandalwood, ₹489 for Icy Mint, ₹499 for Lemon, ₹509 for Oud, Vetiver and Sea Breeze. So you are not trading money against convenience; you are choosing between fragrance you decide to have and fragrance that is simply there. The spray is 100 sprays in 10ml and you control every one of them. The hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks in refillable glass and asks nothing of you, and its stopper is the strength control - loosen for stronger, tighten for subtler. One further practical difference that decides it for some people: 15ml refills exist for the hanging and there is no spray refill at all.
See SOSA car perfumes from ₹449 →

Two things worth knowing before you choose the format for this. The hanging is the only one with an adjustment on it, and it is refillable - 15ml refills are ₹399 to ₹449 across eight scents, in a refillable glass bottle, with none for Mysore Orange Blossom and no spray refill at all. And the two formats are the same price for the same scent, so choosing the stopper over the atomizer costs nothing. Everything in the range is alcohol-free, phthalate-free, paraben-free and IFRA-compliant, formulated and tested for 45 degrees C heat and 85 per cent relative humidity, which is a formulation and stability statement and not a claim that a scent behaves differently in a hot cabin. Custom label or logo on product is the only branding option: no custom box, no printed sleeve, no insert card.

The premise worth rejecting before anything else
A fragrance does not know what is turning the wheels.
There is no petrol product, no diesel product and no electric product in the SOSA range, and SOSA publishes nothing whatsoever about powertrain - because a perfume in a closed cabin behaves the same way whether that cabin is being pushed along by a battery or an engine. What genuinely differs between two owners is everything else: where the car is parked and for how long, how many separate journeys it makes in a day, how many of those hours anybody is actually inside it, whether the windows are open, and who else is in the car. Those are real variables and they change the answer completely. The published figures speak to them directly: a 10ml spray is 100 sprays, which is three months and more at one a day and fifty days at two; a 12ml hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks continuously with a stopper that loosens for more and tightens for less; the 50ml is 500 sprays and about a year and more. So when two people with identical cars need different answers, it is never because one of them is electric.

Nobody has published how air behaves in a shut car, so nobody here will tell you. What is published is a press count and a stopper, and in a still cabin both should be set low.

The SOSA gifting range

Two questions settle almost every car fragrance decision, and neither of them is what the car runs on. How many hours a day is somebody actually sitting in it? A 25 km commute is about an hour; a field job can be four. That number decides how much of what you buy is experienced by anybody at all, because the rest of the day is a sealed cabin in a parking bay. Then: do you want fragrance you switch on, or fragrance that simply runs? The 10ml spray holds 100 sprays and does nothing until you press it; the 12ml hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks whether anybody is there or not, and its stopper loosens for stronger or tightens for subtler. They cost the same for the same scent, so price does not decide it - which is unusual, and useful.

The SOSA range, sorted by how much it asks of the person receiving it
Start from what the gift demands, not from what it costs
Product What it is What it is for Price
SOSA car perfume spray - 10ml Fragrance you switch on ₹449 to ₹549 across nine scents. Published at 100 sprays - 3 months and above at one a day, 50 days at two a day. A fine-mist atomizer; one spray covers the cabin from ₹449
SOSA car hanging - 12ml Fragrance that simply runs The same price as the spray, scent for scent. Published at 4 to 6 weeks of continuous diffusion in a refillable glass bottle, and the stopper adjusts it - loosen for stronger, tighten for subtler from ₹449
SOSA car perfume spray - 50ml The long-run size ₹1,499, published at 500 sprays and about a year and more. The honest size when you already know the routine, and the wrong one while you are still working it out ₹1,499
Car perfume combos Two scents, one purchase ₹899 for Jasmine & Lemon or Jasmine & Lavender; ₹949 for Oud + Lemon or Sandalwood & Oud. Spray combo (2 x 10ml) or hanging combo (2 x 12ml) at the same price. Four published pairs from ₹899
Car Perfume Sprays Discovery Set Three to try ₹699 to ₹899 for three sprays, or ₹2,999 for all nine. Nine published combinations, and those nine are the whole range - none is composed to order from ₹699
Hanging refills - 15ml Only the hanging refills ₹399 to ₹449 across eight scents. There is no spray refill, and Orange Blossom has no refill at all - so if refilling matters, that decides the format for you from ₹399
SOSA Safar The powered option ₹3,999, or ₹4,499 for the hotel-inspired sets. A different category from a spray or a hanging, and listed here so you can rule it in or out rather than wonder from ₹3,999

The fact that answers most of these questions is a division sum. A 10ml spray is published at 100 sprays. Somebody who sprays before each of four short daily trips empties it in about twenty-five days; somebody who sprays once a day gets the published three months and more. The 50ml is 500 sprays and about a year and more. The 12ml hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks instead, continuously, and its stopper adjusts the strength - loosen for more, tighten for less. Spray and hanging are the same price scent for scent, so the choice is genuinely about how you want to use the car rather than what you want to spend. Everything is alcohol-free, phthalate-free and IFRA-compliant, formulated for 45 degrees C heat and 85 per cent humidity, made in India. Fragrance adds a scent to a cabin; it does not remove, neutralise, mask or purify an odour and it does not clean the air - so a car that has developed a smell is a question about the car, not about the perfume. Prices above are published retail prices; bulk orders are welcome and custom label or logo on product is available, with quantities settled on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531. SOSA is an Indian fragrance house based in Pune, sending orders across India. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

What the SOSA car pages publish, and what they do not
Everything below is on the live product pages. Anything not on this list is not something a page like this should state.
  • Nine scents, two formats, one price each - Jasmine ₹449; Lavender and Sandalwood ₹479; Icy Mint ₹489; Lemon ₹499; Oud, Vetiver and Sea Breeze ₹509. Each is sold as a spray or a hanging at the same price. Mysore Orange Blossom is ₹549 and is spray only.
  • The published quantities - a 10ml spray is 100 sprays, stated as 3 months and above at one a day and 50 days at two a day. The 50ml is 500 sprays and about a year and more, at ₹1,499. A spray combo is 200 sprays, stated as 100 days at two a day rotating. These are the only usage figures SOSA gives.
  • The hanging - 4 to 6 weeks (28 to 42 days) of continuous diffusion per 12ml bottle, in refillable glass, and the stopper adjusts the strength: loosen for stronger, tighten for subtler.
  • Combos and the Discovery Set - four published pairs at ₹899 and ₹949, as a spray combo (2 x 10ml) or a hanging combo (2 x 12ml) at the same price. The Discovery Set is ₹699 to ₹899 for three sprays and ₹2,999 for all nine. Those nine combinations are the entire set range and none is composed to order.
  • Refills - 15ml hanging refills at ₹399 to ₹449 across eight scents. There is no spray refill and Orange Blossom has no refill.
  • The formulation - alcohol-free, phthalate-free, paraben-free and IFRA-compliant, formulated for 45 degrees C heat and 85 per cent relative humidity, made in India.
  • Not published, and therefore never stated here: any difference between a petrol, diesel or electric car; any cabin-volume, coverage, scent-throw or evaporation figure; any claim about how a scent is perceived over hours; any seasonal performance claim; any shelf life or concentration; any health effect in either direction; any bulk rate, minimum quantity, price break or lead time. A note from Sonal

We get asked which car perfume is right for an electric car, and I have never been able to give the answer the question wants. There isn't one. A fragrance sits in a closed box of air with a person in it, and that box does not behave differently because the thing moving it is a battery. If anyone tells you otherwise they are selling you a category, not a product.

What I can tell you is what actually changes between two owners, because it is not subtle. One car is occupied ninety minutes a day and another is occupied six. One sits in a basement and one bakes outdoors for nine hours. One has the windows down for the first ten minutes of every drive and one never opens them at all. One is driven by three people who want three different things from it. Those differences are enormous, and none of them is on the spec sheet of the car.

So the numbers I would want you to hold on to are the ones about use rather than about chemistry. A 10ml spray is a hundred sprays. That is three months if you spray once a day and about fifty days if you spray twice, and if you spray before every one of four short errands it is gone in under a month. The hanging runs four to six weeks and you can loosen or tighten the stopper to change it. Those two facts settle more of these questions than anything I could tell you about the car.

And the part I will not pretend about: a perfume cannot fix a smell. It adds a scent, it does not remove one. If a car has started smelling of something it did not smell of before, that is a question about the car - the air-conditioning, the mats, something in the boot, water that got in during the monsoon - and adding fragrance on top of it is the one thing I would ask you not to do.

Frequently asked questions

Does car fragrance get stronger in a closed cabin that is not moving?
SOSA publishes no air-exchange figure, no evaporation figure and no accumulation figure, so no mechanism can be stated here and none will be. What can be said is that your own repeated observation is a good enough reason to change what you do, and that the published controls are the number of presses you take and how far the hanging's stopper is opened.
What should I actually change during a long stationary charging stop?
Take one press rather than two, since a 10ml holds 100 sprays and one spray covers the cabin. If you use the 12ml hanging, tighten the stopper before the stop begins rather than partway through. Open a door or a window once during a long wait. All three are free or nearly so, and none of them relies on a claim about how air moves.
Why not just tell me the reason?
Because it is not published. SOSA states the spray count, the hanging's 4 to 6 weeks, the stopper adjustment, the fine-mist atomizer and the formulation, and nothing about cabin air. A confident explanation here would be invented, and this bank does not state as fact anything the brand has not put in writing.
Is the hanging better than the spray for this situation?
It has the one advantage that matters here: it is the only format with a published adjustment, so it can be set lower before the stop rather than after. It costs the same as the spray for the same scent and runs 4 to 6 weeks in refillable glass. Against it, once tightened it cannot undo what is already in the cabin, and tightening it late does nothing for the stop you are already in.
Does an electric car sitting on charge behave differently from a petrol car parked up?
No. SOSA publishes no petrol, diesel or electric product and no powertrain claim, and nothing at all about charging. A shut cabin with somebody in it and the air conditioning running is the same picture in either car. The variables that matter are how long it stays shut, how many people are in it, and whether a window gets opened.

Specifications verified from the live SOSA product pages, September 2026: SOSA publishes nine car perfume scents. Eight are sold in two formats at the same price per scent - a 10ml spray and a 12ml hanging: Jasmine ₹449; Lavender and Sandalwood ₹479; Icy Mint ₹489; Lemon ₹499; Oud, Vetiver and Sea Breeze ₹509. Mysore Orange Blossom is spray only, ₹549 in 10ml. A 50ml spray is ₹1,499. The published quantities are: 10ml equals 100 sprays, stated as three months and above at one spray a day and fifty days at two a day; 50ml equals 500 sprays, stated as about a year and more; a spray combo is 200 sprays; and a 12ml hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks, that is 28 to 42 days, of continuous diffusion in a refillable glass bottle whose stopper loosens for stronger and tightens for subtler. Four combos are published - Jasmine & Lemon and Jasmine & Lavender at ₹899, Oud + Lemon and Sandalwood & Oud at ₹949 - each as a spray combo of 2 x 10ml or a hanging combo of 2 x 12ml at the same price. The Car Perfume Sprays Discovery Set publishes nine combinations, ₹699 to ₹899 for three and ₹2,999 for all nine; those nine are the entire set range and none is composed to order. Hanging refills are 15ml at ₹399 to ₹449 across eight scents; there is no spray refill and Orange Blossom has no refill. Everything is alcohol-free, phthalate-free, paraben-free and IFRA-compliant, formulated for 45 degrees C heat and 85 per cent relative humidity, made in India. SOSA Safar is ₹3,999, or ₹4,499 for the hotel-inspired sets. What is not published, and is therefore not stated here: any difference in fragrance behaviour between petrol, diesel and electric vehicles - SOSA makes no powertrain-specific product and no powertrain claim; any cabin-volume, coverage, scent-throw, projection or evaporation figure; any claim about how a scent is perceived over hours or about sensory adaptation; any seasonal performance claim beyond the stated formulation for heat and humidity; any shelf life, expiry or concentration; and any bulk rate, minimum quantity, price break or lead time. Limits of this guide: fragrance adds a scent to a cabin. It does not remove, neutralise, mask or purify an odour, it does not clean the air, and a car that has developed a new smell is a question about the vehicle rather than about perfume. No health claim is made anywhere on this page, in either direction - nothing here states or implies that any fragrance causes or prevents a headache, nausea, motion sickness or any other effect, and nothing is said about safety in pregnancy or for children or the elderly, because SOSA publishes no information this page can rely on. No third-party brand is named and no competitor or category of competing product is characterised. No rating, review count, strength percentage or customer name from any product page is cited. Bulk orders are welcome and custom label or logo on product is available; that is the only branding option, and quantities are settled on WhatsApp. SOSA Home & Body is an Indian fragrance house based in Pune, Maharashtra, sending orders across India, with no shop, showroom, stockist, counter or warehouse in any other city. Prices and availability are subject to change - see the live product pages.
