Founder Diaries · Expensive One, Still Weak

I could take the easy money here and sell you another premium reed. I'd rather be honest. If projection is what you want, don't spend that ₹1,500 on a second reed — put it toward an active diffuser. The same rupees do something completely different once they change the diffusion method rather than the bottle.

Quick answer

Another premium reed, or an active diffuser? For projection, an active diffuser — every time. A reed is passive; ₹1,500 more won't buy it more reach.

What fits the budget? The Sukoon (₹1,899) is barely above ₹1,500 and actively fills a room. Stretch a little for SOSA Safar (₹3,999) if you want a stronger, drier throw.

Waste to keep my reeds? No — keep them for gentle background scent. Different job.

The short version
Short answer: Redirect the ₹1,500. Another reed changes the fragrance; an active diffuser changes the reach. Only one of those is your problem.
The pick: Sukoon (₹1,899) — closest to your budget; or save a touch for SOSA Safar (₹3,999).

Let me walk through the actual maths, because it's the maths that makes this an easy decision. Picture the two ways of spending your ₹1,500. Option one: a second premium reed. You'd get a beautifully made bottle, a higher concentration of oil, a longer lifespan and a lovelier fragrance. What you would not get is more reach. A premium reed and a modest one project about the same distance, because a reed is passive — it wicks oil up and lets it evaporate slowly into the still air right around the bottle, and no amount of fragrance quality changes that physics. You'd be paying ₹1,500 to solve a problem the product isn't built to solve.

Option two: put that same ₹1,500 toward an active diffuser. Here you're not buying a better version of the same thing — you're buying a different mechanism. An active diffuser puts energy behind the fragrance and drives it out into the room, so the scent actually travels. That's why the same money goes so much further: with a reed, your rupees buy fragrance; with an active diffuser, they buy reach. And reach is the thing you've been chasing all along.

Where your ₹1,500 actually goes
Another premium reed Toward an active diffuser
What you buy Fragrance quality & a nicer bottle A different mechanism — reach
Projection change None — still close-range Large — genuine room-filling
Method Passive evaporation Active — pushes scent out
Nearest pick — Sukoon ₹1,899 (just above budget)
Step up — SOSA Safar ₹3,999 (stronger, drier)
If the disappointment is reach, another reed repeats the disappointment. An active diffuser at a similar price ends it.

The honest recommendation for your budget is the Sukoon at ₹1,899. Yes, it's a little above ₹1,500 — I won't pretend it lands exactly on it — but it's the natural next step, and for that small extra you get an ultrasonic diffuser that lifts a water-based fragrance into a fine cool mist and pushes it out evenly across the room. It runs on the Hotel Collection fragrance (from ₹299), so the ongoing cost is modest too. Its one honest caveat is that it's water-based and adds a little humidity — worth thinking about if you're in a sticky coastal flat running it for hours.

If you can save a touch more, the SOSA Safar at ₹3,999 is the stronger choice. It's a waterless nebuliser: it atomises neat oil into a fine dry mist, so the scent is drier, more perfume-like and higher-projecting than an ultrasonic, with no added humidity. It's catalogued as a car and travel diffuser — I'll always tell you that — but its cordless, high-throw design makes it a genuinely excellent on-demand strong scenter for a small bedroom or study. Either way, you'll notice more from your first evening than a shelf of premium reeds ever gave you.

Sukoon ultrasonic diffuser, the closest active pick to a ₹1,500 budget
Closest to your budget
Sukoon ₹1,899
A 500ml ultrasonic diffuser that pushes a water-based fragrance out on a fine cool mist for even, room-filling scent on a timer. Runs the Hotel Collection fragrance (from ₹299). Just above ₹1,500 — and it does what no reed at that price can. Adds a little humidity.
SOSA Safar waterless nebuliser, the stronger step up for a small room
Save a touch more for stronger throw
SOSA Safar ₹3,999
A waterless, cordless nebuliser that atomises neat fragrance into a fine dry mist — drier, more perfume-like and higher-projecting than an ultrasonic, with no added humidity. Catalogued for car and travel, but excellent as an on-demand strong scenter in a small room.
The honest core
Another reed changes the fragrance. An active diffuser changes the reach.
If your disappointment is projection, redirect the ₹1,500. Sukoon (₹1,899) is the nearest step; Safar (₹3,999) is the stronger one.
The honest caveat: both are room-scale devices, not whole-home machines. For one signature across a large living room or villa, that's the SOSA Vaayu (1000 m³, ₹11,999) — but don't buy that for a small bedroom. Match the throw to the space.
Frequently asked
Should I spend ₹1,500 on another premium reed or an active diffuser?
If your goal is projection, put the money toward an active diffuser, not another reed. Another premium reed at ₹1,500 gives you finer fragrance and a nicer bottle, but the same close-range reach — a reed is passive by design. The Sukoon ultrasonic is ₹1,899, barely above your budget, and actively pushes scent across the room. That is where the same money genuinely transforms your result.
Why does the same money go further in an active diffuser?
Because with a reed you are spending on fragrance quality, not reach, while with an active diffuser you are buying a different mechanism — one that puts energy behind the scent and drives it into the room. A ₹1,500 reed and a ₹300 reed have similar throw; the difference is the oil. An active diffuser at a similar price changes the physics, not just the fragrance, so the projection improvement is real and large.
Is the Sukoon within my ₹1,500 budget?
The Sukoon is ₹1,899, so it is just above ₹1,500 rather than within it. But it is the most sensible next step: an ultrasonic diffuser that gives even, room-filling scent for a little more than a premium reed would have cost, and it runs the affordable Hotel Collection fragrance from ₹299. If you can stretch further, SOSA Safar at ₹3,999 gives an even stronger, drier, more perfume-like throw.
Should I throw away the reeds I already have?
No. Reeds are still lovely for gentle, continuous background scent that needs no power or attention. Keep them for a soft signature by the bed or in the bathroom. The point is not that reeds are bad — it is that a second or third premium reed will not fix a projection problem, whereas an active diffuser will. Use both for what each does best.

Sukoon (₹1,899) is the nearest step to your budget; save a touch for SOSA Safar (₹3,999). Keep your reeds for gentle ambience.
