Founder Diaries · Car Perfumes, Parking & How a Car Is Actually Used
By Sonal Sahani · ISIPCA Versailles 11 min read Updated September 2026
A car that does a school run at half past seven, a commute at nine, and two errands after six is not one vehicle with one mood. It is four separate occupancies with four different casts, and the only thing they share is the metal. So the instinct to treat each journey as its own decision is a sound one. The catch is that only one of SOSA's two formats can actually take a per-journey instruction, and the other cannot - a spray does nothing until somebody presses it, and a hanging is already running. And once you are pressing per journey, the number on the bottle stops being a spec and becomes a budget.
SOSA Lemon car perfume, spray or hanging, from Rs 449
SOSA car perfume · spray or hanging, same price · nine scents from ₹449 →
Four journeys a day is four different occupancies, and only one format can be told something different about each. A spray is off until pressed; a hanging runs continuously at 4 to 6 weeks a bottle. Then check the rate: a 10ml spray is ₹449 to ₹549 and published at 100 sprays, which is 3 months and above at one a day and under a month at four.
Quick answers — read this first
Should car fragrance be decided per journey rather than on a schedule? Per journey is the more honest unit, because a journey has a duration, a cast and a purpose and a schedule has none of those. It is also only available from one format. A 10ml SOSA spray is ₹449 to ₹549 and published at 100 sprays, and it produces nothing until pressed, so every journey genuinely gets its own answer.

Should fragrance be tied to charging cycles? No, and there is nothing to tie it to. Charging is not a fragrance variable and SOSA publishes nothing about it. A charging cycle tells you about the battery, not about who is in the car or for how long. The units that mean something here are the four journeys, their lengths and their passengers.

What does per-journey use do to the bottle? It is division, and it is worth doing before you commit to the habit. A 10ml is 100 sprays, published as 3 months and above at one a day or 50 days at two a day. Four journeys with a press before each is four a day, and that is a bottle gone in under a month. Pressing before the school run only is a completely different bottle.
The short answer
Short answer: Adjust by journey rather than by charging cycle, because a journey has a length, a cast and a purpose and a charging cycle has none of those. Only the spray can take a per-journey instruction: a SOSA 10ml is Rs 449 to Rs 549, holds 100 sprays, and does nothing until pressed. The 12ml hanging is the same price, runs 4 to 6 weeks continuously, and treats the school run and the late errand identically. Four presses a day is a bottle gone in under a month, so check the arithmetic before adopting the habit.
The pick: A 10ml SOSA car perfume spray, ₹449 to ₹549 - 100 sprays, and the only format in the range that can be given a different instruction on the school run than on the evening errand.
Why: A journey is the smallest unit anybody in the household actually experiences, and the spray is the only format that can be operated at that size.
What the car runs on is not the variable. How it is used is.On demand - 10ml spray ₹449 to ₹549, published at 100 spraysContinuous - 12ml hanging, same price, 4 to 6 weeksVentilate a hot or long-shut cabin before you judge itNever - fragrance instead of finding a smell's source
A car spends most of its life empty. The hours that matter are the ones somebody is sitting in it, and on a typical commute that is one or two out of twenty-four. The useful decision is therefore not which product lasts longest while nobody is there - it is whether you want fragrance you switch on or fragrance that simply runs. A 10ml spray is published at 100 sprays, which is three months at one a day and fifty days at two; a 12ml hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks and its stopper loosens for more or tightens for less. Nothing here depends on what is under the bonnet.
Straight answer
Our electric hatchback handles school runs, office commutes and evening errands with two drivers - should fragrance be adjusted according to each journey rather than tied to charging cycles?
Yes to the journey, no to the charging cycle, and the reason is that only one of those is a real unit. A journey has a length, a set of people in it and a purpose. A charging cycle has a battery and a clock. Charging is not a fragrance variable and SOSA publishes nothing about it, so there is nothing there to tie anything to. Now the practical half. Adjusting per journey is only possible with a format that can be instructed per journey, and in SOSA's range exactly one can. The 10ml spray is a fine-mist atomizer where one spray covers the cabin, it is published at 100 sprays, and it is ₹449 for Jasmine, ₹479 for Lavender and Sandalwood, ₹489 for Icy Mint, ₹499 for Lemon, ₹509 for Oud, Vetiver and Sea Breeze and ₹549 for Mysore Orange Blossom. Until somebody presses it, it has produced nothing - so the school run can genuinely be a different decision from the evening errand, taken by a different driver, on the day. The 12ml hanging costs the same for the same scent, runs 4 to 6 weeks of continuous diffusion in refillable glass, and its published control is a stopper you loosen for stronger or tighten for subtler. That stopper is a setting for the month, not an instruction for the seven-thirty trip. It cannot tell a school run from a supermarket run, and it is not trying to. Then do the arithmetic, because per-journey is a habit with a cost. 100 sprays is published as 3 months and above at one a day, or 50 days at two a day. Four journeys a day with a press before each is four a day, which empties a 10ml in under a month. That is not a defect; it is what you asked for, priced. Two limits stated plainly. The car being electric changes none of this: SOSA publishes no petrol, diesel or electric product and no powertrain claim, and a school run is a school run in any hatchback. And fragrance adds a scent to a cabin; it does not remove, neutralise or mask one, so anything the car picks up between four journeys a day is a ventilation question rather than a bottle question. A portion of every SOSA order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
Adjust by journey, because a journey is real. A charging cycle is not a fragrance unit at all.
The short version for a four-journey day: the journey is a real unit and the charging cycle is not. Only the spray can be told something different at half past seven - ₹449 to ₹549, 100 sprays, three months and above at one a day. Press before every trip and the same bottle is gone in under a month, which is a budget rather than a fault.

Three things to separate before you decide what a journey is worth

Four journeys a day across two drivers is not a complicated situation, but it is easy to answer the wrong question about it. Three things are worth separating, and the middle one is the one that quietly decides how long your first bottle lasts.

01
Real units
A journey has a cast and a clock. A charging cycle has neither
Take the four occupancies seriously and they are obviously different from one another. The school run is short, full and early. The commute is long and usually solo. The evening errands are short, and they come in pairs. Those differences are real, measurable by anyone in the household, and they change what you might reasonably want the cabin to be. Now take a charging cycle: it tells you the battery has been filled. It says nothing about who was in the car, for how long, with the windows open or shut. SOSA publishes nothing whatsoever about charging in relation to fragrance, and there is no hidden relationship waiting to be described. If you want a unit to organise this around, the journey is the one that carries information.
Tip: Organise around the thing that has people in it.
02
The instruction
Only one format can be told something different at half past seven
This is the published structural fact and it decides the question. The spray is off until pressed - so the school run, the commute and the errand can each get their own answer, including the answer none, and a different driver can give a different answer on the same day. The hanging is continuous: SOSA publishes 4 to 6 weeks per 12ml bottle in refillable glass with a stopper that loosens for stronger and tightens for subtler. The stopper is a setting you choose for the fortnight, not an instruction you give for one trip. Both are the same price for the same scent, so this is not about spending more. It is that per-journey control is a property one format has and the other does not, and if per-journey is genuinely what you want, that narrows the choice to one.
03
The budget
Per journey is a rate, and the rate is the whole cost
Here is where the good intention meets the number. A 10ml spray holds 100 sprays, and the pages give the working: 3 months and above at one a day, 50 days at two a day. Four journeys with a press before each is four a day, and a hundred presses at that rate is a bottle in under a month. There is nothing wrong with that - it is simply the price of the habit, stated in advance rather than discovered in week four. If you want the control without the rate, the usual shape that works is one press at the start of the day rather than one per journey, with the extra press kept for the journey that genuinely differs. And the 50ml at ₹1,499 is 500 sprays and about a year and more, which is the sensible size once your own rate has settled and not before.
Tip: Four journeys is four presses, and four presses is a different bottle.
SOSA Mysore Orange Blossom car perfume spray, 10ml and 50ml
The one number that settles most of this
A 10ml spray is 100 sprays. The rest is division.
SOSA publishes the count on the bottle: a 10ml spray is 100 sprays, and the 50ml is 500 sprays and about a year and more. The pages state the working too - three months and above at one spray a day, and fifty days at two a day. That turns a vague question into an arithmetic one. Spray before every journey and somebody making four short trips a day is out of a 10ml in about twenty-five days; the same bottle in the hands of somebody who sprays once each morning lasts the published three months. Neither is wrong - but only one of them is what the person expected when they bought it. Work out your own number before you decide the product is not lasting, because a hundred sprays is a hundred sprays regardless of how the car is powered.
See Mysore Orange Blossom from ₹549 →
Work it out in this order
Four journeys, two drivers, one decision each morning
  1. List the four journeys with their real lengths and who is usually in them.
  2. Drop the charging cycle. It is not a fragrance unit and nothing is published.
  3. Pick the press rate first. A 10ml is 100 sprays; four a day is under a month.
  4. Only then choose between spray and hanging. They cost the same either way.
The SOSA principle
The journey is the only unit in this question that has people in it, a duration and a purpose. Organise around that and the format follows.
And the moment per journey becomes the plan, the hundred on the bottle stops being a specification and starts being a monthly budget.

Which format can be adjusted per journey, and which one cannot

Since the spray and the hanging are the same price for the same scent, a household running four journeys a day can pick on character alone. Lavender at ₹479 is published as the softest of the range, with Jasmine at ₹449 also at the softer end. Lemon at ₹499 follows in the published ordering, then Sandalwood at ₹479, with Oud at ₹509 the deepest of the nine. The bright end is Icy Mint at ₹489 and Sea Breeze at ₹509, and Vetiver at ₹509 sits with the woods. Mysore Orange Blossom at ₹549 is spray only and has no hanging version, which matters if you later decide you want the same scent running continuously.

The SOSA gift edit
Four ways to run a four-journey day, and where each one fails
The option Who it suits, and where it fails
A press before every journey The literal answer to the question, and the most expensive. It gives every trip its own decision and every driver their own say. It fails on arithmetic: four a day empties a 10ml in under a month rather than the published 3 months and above at one a day.
One press at the start of the day, by whoever drives first The version most two-driver households settle on. It keeps the count near the published one a day and still leaves the bottle available. It fails when the first journey is the school run and the person who cares most about the cabin drives third.
A 12ml hanging at the same price, stopper set once Nothing to press and nothing to remember across any of the four journeys, with 4 to 6 weeks of continuous diffusion in refillable glass. It fails precisely on per-journey control: it cannot tell the school run from the evening errand and it is running at two in the morning as well.
Nothing for a fortnight, then decide The cheapest way to find out which of the four journeys actually prompted the question. It costs nothing and it produces a real answer rather than a guess. It fails only in that you have spent two weeks learning instead of two weeks enjoying.
SOSA Lavender car perfume, spray and hanging formats
The format choice, and why price does not decide it
Spray or hanging - the same price, scent for scent
This is the unusual part of the SOSA car range and it makes the decision cleaner than it usually is: the spray and the hanging cost the same for any given scent - ₹449 for Jasmine, ₹479 for Lavender and Sandalwood, ₹489 for Icy Mint, ₹499 for Lemon, ₹509 for Oud, Vetiver and Sea Breeze. So you are not trading money against convenience; you are choosing between fragrance you decide to have and fragrance that is simply there. The spray is 100 sprays in 10ml and you control every one of them. The hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks in refillable glass and asks nothing of you, and its stopper is the strength control - loosen for stronger, tighten for subtler. One further practical difference that decides it for some people: 15ml refills exist for the hanging and there is no spray refill at all.
See SOSA car perfumes from ₹449 →

Two operational details that matter more in a busy household than in a one-driver car. 15ml refills exist for the hanging at ₹399 to ₹449 across eight scents, in a refillable glass bottle, while there is no spray refill at all, so a spray is replaced rather than topped up. The spray combo is 200 sprays across two 10ml bottles, published as 100 days at two a day rotating, which is a neat fit when two drivers want different scents rather than a different quantity. Everything in the range is alcohol-free, phthalate-free, paraben-free and IFRA-compliant, formulated and tested for 45 degrees C heat and 85 per cent humidity - a stability statement about an Indian car park, not a seasonal performance claim, and this page makes none. Branding, if one is a present: custom label or logo on product only, with no custom box or printed sleeve.

The premise worth rejecting before anything else
A fragrance does not know what is turning the wheels.
There is no petrol product, no diesel product and no electric product in the SOSA range, and SOSA publishes nothing whatsoever about powertrain - because a perfume in a closed cabin behaves the same way whether that cabin is being pushed along by a battery or an engine. What genuinely differs between two owners is everything else: where the car is parked and for how long, how many separate journeys it makes in a day, how many of those hours anybody is actually inside it, whether the windows are open, and who else is in the car. Those are real variables and they change the answer completely. The published figures speak to them directly: a 10ml spray is 100 sprays, which is three months and more at one a day and fifty days at two; a 12ml hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks continuously with a stopper that loosens for more and tightens for less; the 50ml is 500 sprays and about a year and more. So when two people with identical cars need different answers, it is never because one of them is electric.

The SOSA gifting range

Two questions settle almost every car fragrance decision, and neither of them is what the car runs on. How many hours a day is somebody actually sitting in it? A 25 km commute is about an hour; a field job can be four. That number decides how much of what you buy is experienced by anybody at all, because the rest of the day is a sealed cabin in a parking bay. Then: do you want fragrance you switch on, or fragrance that simply runs? The 10ml spray holds 100 sprays and does nothing until you press it; the 12ml hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks whether anybody is there or not, and its stopper loosens for stronger or tightens for subtler. They cost the same for the same scent, so price does not decide it - which is unusual, and useful.

SOSA car perfume spray - 10ml Fragrance you switch on ₹449 to ₹549 across nine scents. Published at 100 sprays - 3 months and above at one a day, 50 days at two a day. A fine-mist atomizer; one spray covers the cabin from ₹449
SOSA car hanging - 12ml Fragrance that simply runs The same price as the spray, scent for scent. Published at 4 to 6 weeks of continuous diffusion in a refillable glass bottle, and the stopper adjusts it - loosen for stronger, tighten for subtler from ₹449
SOSA car perfume spray - 50ml The long-run size ₹1,499, published at 500 sprays and about a year and more. The honest size when you already know the routine, and the wrong one while you are still working it out ₹1,499
Car perfume combos Two scents, one purchase ₹899 for Jasmine & Lemon or Jasmine & Lavender; ₹949 for Oud + Lemon or Sandalwood & Oud. Spray combo (2 x 10ml) or hanging combo (2 x 12ml) at the same price. Four published pairs from ₹899
Car Perfume Sprays Discovery Set Three to try ₹699 to ₹899 for three sprays, or ₹2,999 for all nine. Nine published combinations, and those nine are the whole range - none is composed to order from ₹699
Hanging refills - 15ml Only the hanging refills ₹399 to ₹449 across eight scents. There is no spray refill, and Orange Blossom has no refill at all - so if refilling matters, that decides the format for you from ₹399
SOSA Safar The powered option ₹3,999, or ₹4,499 for the hotel-inspired sets. A different category from a spray or a hanging, and listed here so you can rule it in or out rather than wonder from ₹3,999

The fact that answers most of these questions is a division sum. A 10ml spray is published at 100 sprays. Somebody who sprays before each of four short daily trips empties it in about twenty-five days; somebody who sprays once a day gets the published three months and more. The 50ml is 500 sprays and about a year and more. The 12ml hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks instead, continuously, and its stopper adjusts the strength - loosen for more, tighten for less. Spray and hanging are the same price scent for scent, so the choice is genuinely about how you want to use the car rather than what you want to spend. Everything is alcohol-free, phthalate-free and IFRA-compliant, formulated for 45 degrees C heat and 85 per cent humidity, made in India. Fragrance adds a scent to a cabin; it does not remove, neutralise, mask or purify an odour and it does not clean the air - so a car that has developed a smell is a question about the car, not about the perfume. Prices above are published retail prices; bulk orders are welcome and custom label or logo on product is available, with quantities settled on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531. SOSA is an Indian fragrance house based in Pune, sending orders across India. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

What the SOSA car pages publish, and what they do not
Everything below is on the live product pages. Anything not on this list is not something a page like this should state.
  • Nine scents, two formats, one price each - Jasmine ₹449; Lavender and Sandalwood ₹479; Icy Mint ₹489; Lemon ₹499; Oud, Vetiver and Sea Breeze ₹509. Each is sold as a spray or a hanging at the same price. Mysore Orange Blossom is ₹549 and is spray only.
  • The published quantities - a 10ml spray is 100 sprays, stated as 3 months and above at one a day and 50 days at two a day. The 50ml is 500 sprays and about a year and more, at ₹1,499. A spray combo is 200 sprays, stated as 100 days at two a day rotating. These are the only usage figures SOSA gives.

A note from Sonal

We get asked which car perfume is right for an electric car, and I have never been able to give the answer the question wants. There isn't one. A fragrance sits in a closed box of air with a person in it, and that box does not behave differently because the thing moving it is a battery. If anyone tells you otherwise they are selling you a category, not a product.

What I can tell you is what actually changes between two owners, because it is not subtle. One car is occupied ninety minutes a day and another is occupied six. One sits in a basement and one bakes outdoors for nine hours. One has the windows down for the first ten minutes of every drive and one never opens them at all. One is driven by three people who want three different things from it. Those differences are enormous, and none of them is on the spec sheet of the car.

So the numbers I would want you to hold on to are the ones about use rather than about chemistry. A 10ml spray is a hundred sprays. That is three months if you spray once a day and about fifty days if you spray twice, and if you spray before every one of four short errands it is gone in under a month. The hanging runs four to six weeks and you can loosen or tighten the stopper to change it. Those two facts settle more of these questions than anything I could tell you about the car.

And the part I will not pretend about: a perfume cannot fix a smell. It adds a scent, it does not remove one. If a car has started smelling of something it did not smell of before, that is a question about the car - the air-conditioning, the mats, something in the boot, water that got in during the monsoon - and adding fragrance on top of it is the one thing I would ask you not to do.

Frequently asked questions

Should I adjust car fragrance for each journey or keep it constant?
Per journey is the more honest unit, because a school run, a commute and an evening errand differ in length, cast and purpose. Only the spray can be operated that way: a SOSA 10ml is published at 100 sprays and does nothing until pressed. A 12ml hanging costs the same and runs 4 to 6 weeks continuously, so it treats every journey the same by design.
Should fragrance be tied to charging cycles?
No. Charging is not a fragrance variable and SOSA publishes nothing about it. A charging cycle tells you the battery has been filled, which says nothing about who is in the car or for how long. If you want a schedule, use the journeys, because they are the thing anybody in the household actually experiences.
How fast will a 10ml go if we spray before every trip?
Four journeys a day with a press before each is four a day, and 100 sprays at that rate is a bottle in under a month. The published working is 3 months and above at one a day, or 50 days at two a day. Nothing is wrong with the faster rate, but it is worth knowing the number before adopting the habit rather than after.
Does an electric hatchback need a different approach from a petrol one?
No. SOSA publishes no petrol, diesel or electric product and no powertrain claim of any kind. A fragrance sits in a closed volume of air with people in it, and that is the same situation whatever turns the wheels. What genuinely differs between two households is the number of journeys, their length, how many people share the cabin and where the car is parked.
Can two drivers use different scents in the same car?
Yes, and the spray combo is the published way to do it: 200 sprays across two 10ml bottles at Rs 899 for Jasmine and Lemon or Jasmine and Lavender, and Rs 949 for Oud and Lemon or Sandalwood and Oud. Each driver presses their own and the counts stay separate. What the combos are not is a set you assemble yourself; the four published pairs are the four that exist.

Specifications verified from the live SOSA product pages, September 2026: SOSA publishes nine car perfume scents. Eight are sold in two formats at the same price per scent - a 10ml spray and a 12ml hanging: Jasmine ₹449; Lavender and Sandalwood ₹479; Icy Mint ₹489; Lemon ₹499; Oud, Vetiver and Sea Breeze ₹509. Mysore Orange Blossom is spray only, ₹549 in 10ml. A 50ml spray is ₹1,499. The published quantities are: 10ml equals 100 sprays, stated as three months and above at one spray a day and fifty days at two a day; 50ml equals 500 sprays, stated as about a year and more; a spray combo is 200 sprays; and a 12ml hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks, that is 28 to 42 days, of continuous diffusion in a refillable glass bottle whose stopper loosens for stronger and tightens for subtler. Four combos are published - Jasmine & Lemon and Jasmine & Lavender at ₹899, Oud + Lemon and Sandalwood & Oud at ₹949 - each as a spray combo of 2 x 10ml or a hanging combo of 2 x 12ml at the same price. The Car Perfume Sprays Discovery Set publishes nine combinations, ₹699 to ₹899 for three and ₹2,999 for all nine; those nine are the entire set range and none is composed to order. Hanging refills are 15ml at ₹399 to ₹449 across eight scents; there is no spray refill and Orange Blossom has no refill. Everything is alcohol-free, phthalate-free, paraben-free and IFRA-compliant, formulated for 45 degrees C heat and 85 per cent relative humidity, made in India. SOSA Safar is ₹3,999, or ₹4,499 for the hotel-inspired sets. What is not published, and is therefore not stated here: any difference in fragrance behaviour between petrol, diesel and electric vehicles - SOSA makes no powertrain-specific product and no powertrain claim; any cabin-volume, coverage, scent-throw, projection or evaporation figure; any claim about how a scent is perceived over hours or about sensory adaptation; any seasonal performance claim beyond the stated formulation for heat and humidity; any shelf life, expiry or concentration; and any bulk rate, minimum quantity, price break or lead time. Limits of this guide: fragrance adds a scent to a cabin. It does not remove, neutralise, mask or purify an odour, it does not clean the air, and a car that has developed a new smell is a question about the vehicle rather than about perfume. No health claim is made anywhere on this page, in either direction - nothing here states or implies that any fragrance causes or prevents a headache, nausea, motion sickness or any other effect, and nothing is said about safety in pregnancy or for children or the elderly, because SOSA publishes no information this page can rely on. No third-party brand is named and no competitor or category of competing product is characterised. No rating, review count, strength percentage or customer name from any product page is cited. Bulk orders are welcome and custom label or logo on product is available; that is the only branding option, and quantities are settled on WhatsApp. SOSA Home & Body is an Indian fragrance house based in Pune, Maharashtra, sending orders across India, with no shop, showroom, stockist, counter or warehouse in any other city. Prices and availability are subject to change - see the live product pages.
