Before the doorbell, after you have opened a window onto a dusty street, when the room has been shut all day - that burst is useful. It is also, by design, mostly gone in about half an hour, because what you are smelling is the top of the fragrance and the top is always the first to leave.
What a bedroom needs on top of that is a state, not an event. Almost every hour in a bedroom is an hour when nobody is available to press anything - you are at office, or you are asleep. A reed holds the room through all of it with no flame, no socket and nothing to switch off.
