This is a better question than it looks, and the honest answer is not the flattering one. You are asleep. The car is shut. Nothing in that cabin is being experienced by anybody between eleven at night and seven in the morning. So when a car fragrance is sold on lasting a long time, it is worth asking what that word is being spent on. For a spray it means something genuinely useful - how many mornings are in the bottle. For a continuous format it means the cabin is scented at three in the morning, which is true and which nobody collects. The next event that matters is the drive to work. Everything before it is storage.
The decision behind almost every version of this question, and it is not about the car: do you want fragrance you switch on, or fragrance that simply runs? The 10ml spray is ₹449 to ₹549 and published at 100 sprays - three months and more at one a day, fifty days at two. The 12ml hanging is the same price, published at 4 to 6 weeks, and its stopper loosens for stronger or tightens for subtler. Nothing here changes with the powertrain.
Quick answers — read this first
Is there any reason for a car fragrance to stay noticeable through an empty night? Not for you, no. Nobody is in the cabin between the last journey and the first one, so output during those hours has no audience. Where longevity genuinely pays is in the bottle rather than the hours: a 10ml SOSA spray is ₹449 to ₹549 and holds 100 sprays, published as 3 months and above at one a day. That is the long-lasting figure worth caring about.
Does long-lasting mean different things for a spray and a hanging? Yes, and the difference is the whole decision. For a spray it means how many uses are in the bottle - 100 in a 10ml, 500 in a 50ml. For a hanging it means continuous running time - 4 to 6 weeks per 12ml bottle, regardless of whether anybody is in the car. They cost the same for the same scent, so this is a question about how you want to use the car.
Does it matter that the car is plugged in during those empty hours? No. SOSA publishes nothing about charging and no petrol, diesel or electric product. A car connected to a home point overnight and a car parked beside it with nothing connected have the identical fact in common: the doors are shut and nobody is inside. That shared fact is what this question is really about, and it has no electrical component at all.
The short answer
Short answer: There is no practical reason. Nobody is in the cabin overnight, so output during those hours has no audience. For a spray, long-lasting sensibly means bottle life: a SOSA 10ml is Rs 449 to Rs 549 and holds 100 sprays, or 3 months and above at one a day. For a hanging it means 4 to 6 weeks of running time, empty hours included. Charging is not part of this.
Why: Longevity is only worth paying for where somebody collects it. In a spray that is the number of mornings in the bottle; in an empty overnight cabin it is nothing.
A car spends most of its life empty. The hours that matter are the ones somebody is sitting in it, and on a typical commute that is one or two out of twenty-four. The useful decision is therefore not which product lasts longest while nobody is there - it is whether you want fragrance you switch on or fragrance that simply runs. A 10ml spray is published at 100 sprays, which is three months at one a day and fifty days at two; a 12ml hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks and its stopper loosens for more or tightens for less. Nothing here depends on what is under the bonnet.
My hatchback stays connected to the home charger overnight but nobody is inside the cabin during those hours - is there any practical reason for fragrance to remain highly noticeable throughout them?
No, and it is worth saying so plainly, because the category rarely does. Between your last journey in the evening and your first one the next morning, the cabin has nobody in it. You are asleep. The doors are shut. Whatever is happening in that volume of air at two in the morning is happening to nobody, and a product that is still going strong at that hour has not done anything for you - it has simply been running. The next event that matters is the drive to work, and the only question that counts is what the car is when you open the door and sit down. None of this has anything to do with the charger: SOSA publishes no petrol product, no diesel product, no electric product and no claim about charging at all, and a car parked beside yours with nothing connected to it has the identical eight to ten shut, empty hours. So what is long-lasting actually buying? It depends entirely on the format, and the two answers are genuinely different. For a spray it means how many uses are in the bottle. A 10ml is ₹449 for Jasmine, ₹479 for Lavender and Sandalwood, ₹489 for Icy Mint, ₹499 for Lemon and ₹509 for Oud, Vetiver and Sea Breeze, and it holds 100 sprays - 3 months and above at one spray a day, or 50 days at two a day - while the 50ml at ₹1,499 is 500 sprays and about a year and more. That is longevity you actually collect, one morning at a time. For the 12ml hanging, which costs the same for the same scent, it means 4 to 6 weeks of continuous diffusion in refillable glass with a stopper that loosens for stronger or tightens for subtler - and those weeks include every empty night, because that is how the format works. That is not a defect; it is the trade. You buy a hanging precisely so that you never have to decide anything, and the price of never deciding is that it runs when nobody is there. One limit worth repeating: fragrance adds a scent and does not remove, neutralise or mask an odour, so nothing here is an argument for leaving something running to keep a cabin in order overnight. A portion of every SOSA order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
At two in the morning there is no audience. Longevity is only worth paying for where somebody collects it.
Two meanings of long-lasting, one price. A 10ml spray at ₹449 to ₹549 is 100 sprays - longevity measured in mornings, none of it spent on an empty night. A 12ml hanging at the same price is 4 to 6 weeks of continuous running, empty nights included, with the stopper as its strength control. Pick the trade, not the bigger number.
Three ways to read the word long-lasting, and only one of them is about you
Long-lasting is the most-used word in this category and the least examined. It means at least three different things, and telling them apart settles the question completely.
01
Longevity as bottle life
For a spray it means how many mornings are in the bottle, and that is a number
This is the version that is genuinely worth money, and SOSA publishes it as a figure rather than an adjective. A 10ml holds 100 sprays, set out on the pages as 3 months and above at one spray a day, or 50 days at two a day; the 50ml holds 500 and is published as about a year and more, at ₹1,499; a spray combo is 200 sprays, published as 100 days at two a day rotating. Every one of those uses is collected by a person sitting in the car, because a spray does not exist until you press it. Nothing is spent on the empty night, and that is the sense in which a spray is long-lasting for somebody whose car sleeps on a driveway.
Tip: A spray spends nothing on the hours nobody is there.
02
Longevity as running time
For a hanging it means weeks on the mirror, empty nights included
The hanging measures itself differently and honestly. A 12ml bottle runs 4 to 6 weeks of continuous diffusion, in refillable glass, with a stopper that loosens for stronger and tightens for subtler; a hanging combo is published as 8 to 12 weeks alternating across both bottles. Those weeks are wall-clock weeks. They include the eight to ten hours a night when the car is shut and empty, and the weekend it does not move at all. That is the format working exactly as designed, and the reason people choose it is not efficiency - it is that the car is simply always scented and no morning ever requires a decision. It costs the same as the spray for the same scent, so you are not paying extra for the empty hours; you are trading bottle efficiency for never having to think.
03
The version worth refusing
Still noticeable at three in the morning is a claim without an audience
The third meaning is the one the category leans on hardest and the one to be suspicious of. A cabin that is strongly scented at three in the morning is not delivering anything to anybody - you are asleep and the doors are shut. It can sound like proof of quality, and it is really just a description of where the output went. The measure that deserves your attention is much smaller and much more testable: what is the car like in the first two minutes after you open the door, and does it stay that way for the length of the drive? That is the only window anybody experiences. Judge by that, ventilate first so you are judging the right air, and let the spray count tell you what the habit is costing.
Tip: Judge the first two minutes of the drive. That is the only window with a person in it.
The one number that settles most of this
A 10ml spray is 100 sprays. The rest is division.
SOSA publishes the count on the bottle: a 10ml spray is 100 sprays, and the 50ml is 500 sprays and about a year and more. The pages state the working too - three months and above at one spray a day, and fifty days at two a day. That turns a vague question into an arithmetic one. Spray before every journey and somebody making four short trips a day is out of a 10ml in about twenty-five days; the same bottle in the hands of somebody who sprays once each morning lasts the published three months. Neither is wrong - but only one of them is what the person expected when they bought it. Work out your own number before you decide the product is not lasting, because a hundred sprays is a hundred sprays regardless of how the car is powered.
Name the audience. Overnight there is none, so that is not what you are buying.
For a spray, longevity means uses: a 10ml is 100 sprays, a 50ml is 500.
For a hanging it means weeks on the clock - 4 to 6 - empty nights included.
Pick the trade you want, not the bigger number. The price is the same either way.
The SOSA principle
Longevity is only worth paying for where somebody is present to collect it. In an empty overnight cabin, nobody is.
Which is why the number that matters for a spray is 100 sprays in a bottle, and not how long one press is still detectable at midnight.
Choosing a scent when the only audience is the morning drive
If the whole audience for this purchase is one morning drive, the scent is worth choosing carefully rather than defaulting. Oud at ₹509 is published as the deepest of the nine and is a deliberate choice for a cabin you meet fresh each morning. Sandalwood at ₹479 and Vetiver at ₹509 are the other two woods, warmer and drier respectively. Jasmine at ₹449 is the entry price of the range and the softest floral; Lavender at ₹479 is the softest of the nine on the pages' own ordering. The bright end is Icy Mint at ₹489, Lemon at ₹499 and Sea Breeze at ₹509. Mysore Orange Blossom at ₹549 is spray only.
The SOSA gift edit
Four readings of long-lasting for an overnight-parked car, and where each fails
The option
Who it suits, and where it fails
A 10ml spray, ₹449 to ₹549
Longevity as 100 sprays: every use collected by somebody in the seat, nothing spent on the empty night. It fails if you want the cabin already scented when you open the door, because it does nothing at all until you press it.
A 12ml hanging, the same price
Longevity as 4 to 6 weeks on the mirror, adjustable at the stopper, no morning decision ever. It fails on efficiency by exactly the amount this page is about - most of those weeks are hours with nobody in the car - and it cannot be turned off for a night.
The 50ml spray at ₹1,499
500 sprays and about a year and more: the largest published longevity in the range, and all of it in uses rather than hours. It fails as a first purchase, since there is no spray refill and you would be fixing a year of scent before testing a month of habit.
A hanging combo, ₹899 to ₹949
Two 12ml bottles, published as 8 to 12 weeks alternating, which is the longest continuous run SOSA publishes. It fails for the same reason as the single hanging, doubled - and alternating means you are living with whichever bottle is up, not choosing per journey.
The format choice, and why price does not decide it
Spray or hanging - the same price, scent for scent
This is the unusual part of the SOSA car range and it makes the decision cleaner than it usually is: the spray and the hanging cost the same for any given scent - ₹449 for Jasmine, ₹479 for Lavender and Sandalwood, ₹489 for Icy Mint, ₹499 for Lemon, ₹509 for Oud, Vetiver and Sea Breeze. So you are not trading money against convenience; you are choosing between fragrance you decide to have and fragrance that is simply there. The spray is 100 sprays in 10ml and you control every one of them. The hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks in refillable glass and asks nothing of you, and its stopper is the strength control - loosen for stronger, tighten for subtler. One further practical difference that decides it for some people: 15ml refills exist for the hanging and there is no spray refill at all.
The rest of the sheet, so the trade is fully visible. 15ml refills exist for the hanging at ₹399 to ₹449 across eight scents, in refillable glass; there is no spray refill, and Orange Blossom has no refill in either form. Combos are four published pairs at ₹899 and ₹949, sold as a spray combo of two 10ml bottles or a hanging combo of two 12ml bottles at the same price. The Discovery Set publishes nine fixed combinations, ₹699 to ₹899 for a trio and ₹2,999 for all nine sprays; none is composed to order. Everything is alcohol-free, phthalate-free, paraben-free and IFRA-compliant. No cabin-volume, scent-throw or evaporation figure is published, and none is offered here.
₹449 to ₹549, published at 100 sprays. Fragrance you decide to have, journey by journey - which is the format that suits a car occupied an hour or two a day.
The same price as the spray, published at 4 to 6 weeks in a refillable glass bottle. The stopper adjusts it - loosen for stronger, tighten for subtler - which is the only strength control SOSA publishes.
Three sprays from ₹699, or all nine at ₹2,999. Nine published combinations and those nine are the whole range - you pick from them, you do not assemble one.
from ₹699
The premise worth rejecting before anything else
A fragrance does not know what is turning the wheels.
There is no petrol product, no diesel product and no electric product in the SOSA range, and SOSA publishes nothing whatsoever about powertrain - because a perfume in a closed cabin behaves the same way whether that cabin is being pushed along by a battery or an engine. What genuinely differs between two owners is everything else: where the car is parked and for how long, how many separate journeys it makes in a day, how many of those hours anybody is actually inside it, whether the windows are open, and who else is in the car. Those are real variables and they change the answer completely. The published figures speak to them directly: a 10ml spray is 100 sprays, which is three months and more at one a day and fifty days at two; a 12ml hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks continuously with a stopper that loosens for more and tightens for less; the 50ml is 500 sprays and about a year and more. So when two people with identical cars need different answers, it is never because one of them is electric.
Tell SOSA how many hours a day somebody is actually sitting in the car, where it is parked and for how long, whether the windows are usually open or shut, and who else drives it - and you will be told which format and how much, including the times the honest answer is the hanging at the same price because you would rather not think about it.
A fragrance still going strong at three in the morning in a locked, empty car has not done anything for anybody. Ask what the first two minutes of the drive are like instead.
— Sonal Sahani, SOSA
The SOSA gifting range
Two questions settle almost every car fragrance decision, and neither of them is what the car runs on. How many hours a day is somebody actually sitting in it? A 25 km commute is about an hour; a field job can be four. That number decides how much of what you buy is experienced by anybody at all, because the rest of the day is a sealed cabin in a parking bay. Then: do you want fragrance you switch on, or fragrance that simply runs? The 10ml spray holds 100 sprays and does nothing until you press it; the 12ml hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks whether anybody is there or not, and its stopper loosens for stronger or tightens for subtler. They cost the same for the same scent, so price does not decide it - which is unusual, and useful.
The SOSA range, sorted by how much it asks of the person receiving it
Start from what the gift demands, not from what it costs
₹449 to ₹549 across nine scents. Published at 100 sprays - 3 months and above at one a day, 50 days at two a day. A fine-mist atomizer; one spray covers the cabin
The same price as the spray, scent for scent. Published at 4 to 6 weeks of continuous diffusion in a refillable glass bottle, and the stopper adjusts it - loosen for stronger, tighten for subtler
₹1,499, published at 500 sprays and about a year and more. The honest size when you already know the routine, and the wrong one while you are still working it out
₹899 for Jasmine & Lemon or Jasmine & Lavender; ₹949 for Oud + Lemon or Sandalwood & Oud. Spray combo (2 x 10ml) or hanging combo (2 x 12ml) at the same price. Four published pairs
₹399 to ₹449 across eight scents. There is no spray refill, and Orange Blossom has no refill at all - so if refilling matters, that decides the format for you
₹3,999, or ₹4,499 for the hotel-inspired sets. A different category from a spray or a hanging, and listed here so you can rule it in or out rather than wonder
from ₹3,999
The fact that answers most of these questions is a division sum. A 10ml spray is published at 100 sprays. Somebody who sprays before each of four short daily trips empties it in about twenty-five days; somebody who sprays once a day gets the published three months and more. The 50ml is 500 sprays and about a year and more. The 12ml hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks instead, continuously, and its stopper adjusts the strength - loosen for more, tighten for less. Spray and hanging are the same price scent for scent, so the choice is genuinely about how you want to use the car rather than what you want to spend. Everything is alcohol-free, phthalate-free and IFRA-compliant, formulated for 45 degrees C heat and 85 per cent humidity, made in India. Fragrance adds a scent to a cabin; it does not remove, neutralise, mask or purify an odour and it does not clean the air - so a car that has developed a smell is a question about the car, not about the perfume. Prices above are published retail prices; bulk orders are welcome and custom label or logo on product is available, with quantities settled on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531. SOSA is an Indian fragrance house based in Pune, sending orders across India. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

A note from Sonal
We get asked which car perfume is right for an electric car, and I have never been able to give the answer the question wants. There isn't one. A fragrance sits in a closed box of air with a person in it, and that box does not behave differently because the thing moving it is a battery. If anyone tells you otherwise they are selling you a category, not a product.
What I can tell you is what actually changes between two owners, because it is not subtle. One car is occupied ninety minutes a day and another is occupied six. One sits in a basement and one bakes outdoors for nine hours. One has the windows down for the first ten minutes of every drive and one never opens them at all. One is driven by three people who want three different things from it. Those differences are enormous, and none of them is on the spec sheet of the car.
So the numbers I would want you to hold on to are the ones about use rather than about chemistry. A 10ml spray is a hundred sprays. That is three months if you spray once a day and about fifty days if you spray twice, and if you spray before every one of four short errands it is gone in under a month. The hanging runs four to six weeks and you can loosen or tighten the stopper to change it. Those two facts settle more of these questions than anything I could tell you about the car.
And the part I will not pretend about: a perfume cannot fix a smell. It adds a scent, it does not remove one. If a car has started smelling of something it did not smell of before, that is a question about the car - the air-conditioning, the mats, something in the boot, water that got in during the monsoon - and adding fragrance on top of it is the one thing I would ask you not to do.
Frequently asked questions
Is there any point in fragrance being noticeable while the car is empty overnight?
No practical point for you. Nobody is in the cabin between the last journey and the first, so output during those hours has no audience. What matters is the state of the car when you open the door in the morning and how the drive goes from there. For a spray, longevity sensibly means how many mornings are in the bottle rather than how long one press is still detectable.
What does long-lasting mean for a SOSA spray?
Uses rather than hours. A 10ml is published at 100 sprays, set out as 3 months and above at one a day and 50 days at two a day. A 50ml is 500 sprays and stated as about a year and more. A spray combo is 200 sprays, published as 100 days at two a day rotating. Those are the only usage figures SOSA publishes for the sprays.
What does it mean for the hanging?
Continuous running time. A 12ml bottle is published at 4 to 6 weeks, which is 28 to 42 days, of continuous diffusion in refillable glass, and a hanging combo at 8 to 12 weeks alternating across the two. Those are wall-clock weeks and they include every empty night. The stopper loosens for stronger or tightens for subtler, and it is the same price as the spray for the same scent.
Does leaving the car on charge overnight change the answer?
No. SOSA publishes nothing about charging and no petrol, diesel or electric product. A car on a home point and a car beside it with nothing connected share the fact that actually matters here: the doors are shut and nobody is inside for eight to ten hours. The charger is a fact about the battery, and the cabin plays no part in it.
Should I just leave a hanging in the car so it is always ready in the morning?
That is a perfectly good reason to choose one, as long as you choose it with the trade in view. It runs 4 to 6 weeks whether the car is occupied or not, so most of its life goes into hours nobody experiences, and it cannot be dialled back for a single journey. In exchange no morning ever asks you for a decision. It costs the same as the spray, so this is about habit rather than money.

What is not published, and is therefore not stated here: any difference in fragrance behaviour between petrol, diesel and electric vehicles - SOSA makes no powertrain-specific product and no powertrain claim; any cabin-volume, coverage, scent-throw, projection or evaporation figure; any claim about how a scent is perceived over hours or about sensory adaptation; any seasonal performance claim beyond the stated formulation for heat and humidity; any shelf life, expiry or concentration; and any bulk rate, minimum quantity, price break or lead time. Limits of this guide: fragrance adds a scent to a cabin. It does not remove, neutralise, mask or purify an odour, it does not clean the air, and a car that has developed a new smell is a question about the vehicle rather than about perfume. No health claim is made anywhere on this page, in either direction - nothing here states or implies that any fragrance causes or prevents a headache, nausea, motion sickness or any other effect, and nothing is said about safety in pregnancy or for children or the elderly, because SOSA publishes no information this page can rely on. No third-party brand is named and no competitor or category of competing product is characterised. No rating, review count, strength percentage or customer name from any product page is cited. Bulk orders are welcome and custom label or logo on product is available; that is the only branding option, and quantities are settled on WhatsApp. SOSA Home & Body is an Indian fragrance house based in Pune, Maharashtra, sending orders across India, with no shop, showroom, stockist, counter or warehouse in any other city.
