How SOSA works
Four attars, three sizes, one fixed set - and an honest account of what each one is for
The trio is fixed
Ameeri, Nawaab and Mastani. Adaa is not in it - that one is bought separately.
Alcohol-free by formulation
The attars are alcohol-free oil worn at the wrist. The inspired line is an alcohol-based spray - a different thing, and we say so.
Made in India
Hand-blended in small batches. Cruelty-free and vegan.
Composed by a trained perfumer
Sonal Sahani, ISIPCA Versailles-trained, composes the whole range.
A portion funds girl-child education
Part of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
We will tell you not to buy
Four attars in two registers is a house point of view, not a discovery kit. Where that is the wrong answer, these guides say so.

Founder Diaries · Attar Gifting
By Sonal Sahani · ISIPCA Versailles 9 min read Updated September 2026
Twenty bottles is the number at which the usual gift-buying method stops working. Below it you can hold somebody's collection in your head and spot the obvious hole. Above it you cannot, and every attempt turns into the same anxious loop: you think of something, you cannot rule out that she owns a version of it, and you go back to the beginning. The way out is not to try harder. It is to change the question you are asking.
Quick answers — read this first
How do you buy perfume for someone who already owns twenty bottles? Stop trying to find a gap. With twenty bottles, every obvious gap has already been filled by the person best placed to fill it. Buy on a different test instead: would this be worth smelling even if she owns something roughly like it? The SOSA three-attar set is ₹1,055 for three 3ML bottles and passes that test on materials and format rather than on novelty.

Can you avoid buying a duplicate fragrance as a gift? Not reliably, and it is worth accepting that early. What you can do is make a duplicate harmless. A 100ML bottle of something she already owns is a wasted gift; a 3ML attar that turns out to sit near something on her shelf is a comparison she will actually find interesting. Reducing the size reduces the cost of being wrong.

What is actually in the three-attar set? Ameeri (Taif rose, Indian sandalwood, Persian saffron, soft oudh), Nawaab (white royal oud, Mysore sandalwood, Kashmir saffron) and Mastani (night-blooming jasmine, damask rose, oudh). It is a fixed set of three, all in one register. Adaa, the bergamot and green cardamom one, is not in it and is bought separately at ₹379.
The short answer
Short answer: With twenty bottles you cannot find an empty slot, so change the test - buy what is worth smelling rather than what is missing, and buy it small enough that a near-miss costs almost nothing.
The pick: the three-attar set at ₹1,055 for three 3ML bottles, where she already wears rose, oud, sandalwood or heavy florals - and three self-chosen 3ML singles at ₹1,153 to ₹1,173 where her twenty bottles are bright and citrusy instead.
Honest note: the set is fixed and all three scents sit in one register, so it is depth rather than contrast. Adaa, the one bright scent, is not in it.
The trio, and the alternative - at a glanceThe trio is one register: rose, oud, sandalwood. Three eveningsFixed set ₹1,055 · Ameeri, Nawaab, Mastani · Adaa not includedWant contrast? Three chosen 3ML from ₹1,153 - three boxesAlcohol-free oil · worn at the wrist
SOSA's three-attar set is a fixed pairing of Ameeri, Nawaab and Mastani at Rs 1,055 for three 3ML bottles. All three sit in the same register - rose, oud, sandalwood and heavy florals, built for evenings. If what you want is contrast rather than depth, the route is three 3ML singles chosen yourself, from Rs 1,153, which is the only way to include Adaa, the one bright scent in the range. Those arrive as three boxes rather than one gift set.
Straight answer
What do you buy somebody who already owns more than twenty perfumes?
Something judged on its own merits, in a size where being wrong is cheap.

The direct answer: the three-attar set at ₹1,055 for three 3ML bottles. Ameeri is Taif rose over Indian sandalwood and Persian saffron; Nawaab is white royal oud with Mysore sandalwood and Kashmir saffron; Mastani is night-blooming jasmine over damask rose and oudh. Alcohol-free concentrated oil rolled at the wrist rather than sprayed.

Why this answers the duplication problem sideways. It does not promise that she owns nothing like it - nobody can promise that about a twenty-bottle collection, and I would be guessing. It changes what a near-miss costs. Three 3ML bottles are sampling sizes. If one of them lands close to something she already wears, she has a comparison rather than a redundant purchase, and a collector is precisely the person who enjoys that.

The register check, which matters more than the count. All three share oudh, sandalwood and rose. They are three evenings in one register, not three directions, and she will work that out the first time she smells them. If her twenty bottles lean warm, floral, rosy or woody, that is a good fit. If they are all bright, citrusy and clean, this is the wrong set and I would rather say so on this page than let you find out on the day. Adaa, our bergamot and green cardamom attar, is the one bright scent we make, and it is not in the set - it is ₹379 on its own.

If you want three bottles she picked the direction of. Three 3ML singles chosen yourself are ₹1,153 to ₹1,173, about a hundred rupees more than the fixed set, and they arrive as three boxes rather than one. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
One line: you cannot audit twenty bottles, so swap the test - buy what is worth smelling rather than what is missing, and keep the size small enough that a near-miss is a comparison rather than a waste.
The three-attar set is ₹1,055 for three 3ML bottles, ₹1,859 at 6ML. It is a fixed pairing - Ameeri, Nawaab and Mastani - and all three sit in the same register, so it is depth rather than contrast. Worth knowing before you order: Adaa is not in it.
from ₹1,055

The audit you cannot run, and the test that replaces it

Three things change once a collection passes about fifteen bottles, and only one of them is about which scent you choose.

1
The impossible audit
You are trying to solve a problem you cannot see
Twenty bottles is roughly the point where a collection stops being a list and starts being a range. You would need to know not only what she owns but what each one smells like, which two of them overlap, and which she has gone off. She knows all of that. You do not, and no amount of careful thinking on your side produces it. Every hour spent trying to find the gap is an hour spent guessing at information that only exists on her shelf and in her head.
Tip: If the method requires information you cannot get, the method is wrong, not you.
2
The replacement test
Worth smelling, rather than missing
Here is a question you can actually answer without seeing her collection: would this be interesting to smell even if she owns something roughly like it? A Taif rose sitting over Indian sandalwood, saffron and soft oudh, applied as oil at the wrist, is an interesting thing to smell beside a French rose even for somebody who owns four French roses - because the materials underneath it and the way an oil opens on skin are both different. That is a judgement about the object in front of you, not a guess about the shelf behind her. The fixed set is built on that kind of difference rather than on being unusual.
3
Cost of error
Twenty bottles is an argument for small sizes
Somebody with twenty perfumes has already demonstrated that she does not need volume. What she does not have is an easy way to try a direction without committing a shelf slot to it. Three 3ML bottles cost ₹1,055 together and none of them is a commitment. If one lands, she can buy the 12ML herself at ₹1,149 to ₹1,199, and she will enjoy having made that decision more than she would have enjoyed you making it for her.
Tip: Small sizes are not a smaller gift here. They are the format the collection actually lacks.
The SOSA principle
You cannot find the gap in a twenty-bottle collection. You can judge a bottle on its own terms.
Those are two different jobs, and only the second one is possible from where you are standing. Change the test and the anxiety goes with it.

Judging the bottle instead of guessing the shelf

Work forwards from what is in the bottle rather than backwards from what might be on the shelf, and then check the one thing that genuinely decides this - the register.

The SOSA attar edit
What to buy for somebody with a large collection
Option Who it suits, and what it costs
Her twenty bottles lean warm, rosy or woody The three-attar set at ₹1,055. Three 3ML bottles, oil at the wrist, in a register she already reads.
Her twenty bottles are all bright and clean Not the set. Three 3ML singles chosen yourself, ₹1,153 to ₹1,173 - the only route that includes Adaa.
You want one bottle rather than three Ameeri at 6ML, ₹679. Rose over sandalwood and saffron - the most broadly wearable of the three.
She is more interested in format than in notes A solid perfume tin at ₹500. A balm in metal, which almost nobody with twenty sprays owns.

If the real question underneath this is whether somebody with a full shelf needs any fragrance at all, The collector guide takes that on directly. If you want the version of this argument for a smaller, more readable collection, Add, don't duplicate is the narrower case. The set and the four attars are where this ends up.

Tell us what they already wear
Send us the bottle they have worn for years, or just how they describe it - bright, heavy, sweet, clean. If the fixed set is the wrong register for that person, we will say so and tell you which three to pick instead.
Gift enquiry
Nobody can promise you a twenty-bottle collection holds nothing like this. What you can do is make being close to something cost almost nothing.

The SOSA attar edit

Every SOSA attar is alcohol-free oil worn at the wrist, hand-blended in small batches in India. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali. Here is the edit by what you actually know about the person's taste, which is what decides whether a fixed set or three chosen bottles is the right answer.

The SOSA attar edit
Five answers by what you actually know about their taste - from ₹1,055 to ₹1,859
Option Best for What it is, honestly From
The three-attar set, 3ML x 3 They already wear rose, oud or big florals Ameeri, Nawaab, Mastani - one register, three evenings. Fixed: Adaa is not in it ₹1,055
Three chosen 3ML singles You want contrast, not depth Any three of the four, chosen by you. The only route that includes Adaa. Three boxes, not one set ₹1,153
One 12ML of a scent you are sure of You know exactly what they wear A size they finish rather than sample, when guessing is not required ₹1,149
The three-attar set, 6ML x 3 The same three, in a size that lasts Where the trio is right and 3ML would run out too quickly ₹1,859
Solid perfume tin 15g When a roll-on is not right Solid balm in a metal tin - nothing to spill, nothing to leak in a bag ₹500

Four honest notes. The three-attar set is fixed - Ameeri, Nawaab and Mastani, in one size tier at a time. Adaa, the bergamot and cardamom one, is not in it, so if the brighter style is what the person wears, that means buying Adaa separately. All three trio scents sit in the same register - rose, oud, sandalwood and heavy florals - so the set is depth rather than contrast; if contrast is the point, choose three 3ML singles yourself and know that they arrive as three boxes rather than one gift set, because there is no build-your-own set on the store. SOSA's attars are alcohol-free oil worn at the wrist; the designer-inspired line is an alcohol-based spray and a different product entirely, and SOSA is independent and not affiliated with any fragrance house it names. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

A note from Sonal

The hardest fragrance gift is not the one where you know nothing. It is the one where you know just enough. You can name the bottle they have worn for six years. You also know that buying it again is not a gift, it is a refill - and that buying something wildly different is a coin toss with your money on it.

So people reach for a set, and most fragrance sets quietly mislead. They are sold as exploration when they are really one house's single idea, broken into three bottles. I would rather tell you what ours actually is. Ameeri, Nawaab and Mastani are three evenings, not three directions. Rose, oud, sandalwood, saffron, night jasmine. If the person you are buying for already lives in that register, the set is genuinely good and the discount is real. If they wear something bright and fresh, it is the wrong set, and no amount of my writing changes that.

The answer in that case is not a different set. It is three bottles you pick yourself - and yes, that costs about a hundred rupees more than the fixed three, and yes, they arrive in three boxes rather than one. I would rather you knew both of those things before you ordered than after. Adaa is the only bright one we make, and it is not in the set. A portion of every order supports girl-child education.

Frequently asked questions

How do I avoid buying a perfume someone already owns?
With a small collection you can ask around it. With twenty bottles you cannot, and pretending otherwise leads to weeks of circling. The practical move is to lower the stakes instead: three 3ML attars at ₹1,055 means that if one sits near something she owns, she has a comparison rather than a redundant bottle.
Is a small set a good gift for a serious perfume collector?
It can be, on two conditions. The size has to be sampling size rather than a token, and the contents have to be worth her attention on materials rather than on packaging. The SOSA set is three 3ML bottles built on Taif rose, Mysore sandalwood, saffron, oudh and night jasmine, applied as oil rather than sprayed.
Are the three scents in the set very different from each other?
Not as different as three usually implies, and a collector will notice within a minute. All three share oudh, sandalwood and rose materials and all three are evening scents. The set is depth rather than contrast. If contrast is what you want, three 3ML singles chosen yourself cost ₹1,153 to ₹1,173 and arrive as three separate boxes.
What if her collection is all fresh and citrus?
Then this is the wrong set, and it is better to know now. Ameeri, Nawaab and Mastani are all rich evening attars. Adaa is the one bright scent SOSA makes - bergamot, green cardamom, jasmine sambac and white musk, ₹379 at 3ML - and it is not included in the set, so it has to be bought on its own.
Is ₹1,055 enough for somebody who owns twenty perfumes?
The amount is not the variable that decides this. Somebody with twenty bottles is not short of perfume and cannot be impressed by volume. What they do not have is a concentrated oil in a 3ML roll-on from an independent Indian house, which is a category their shelf is unlikely to hold at any price.
