‘Luxury’ gets stuck on a lot of bottles that do not earn it, so let me be useful instead of flattering. I am Sonal, a perfumer, and here is the real, checkable difference between a considered home fragrance and a quick air freshener - and where each one honestly belongs in your home.
Quick answers — read this first
What’s the real difference? Composition and intent. Air fresheners are built to mask odour fast and cheap; considered home fragrances are composed to give a room a lasting, layered character.

Does ‘luxury’ mean better? Not automatically. Use a checklist - real composition, named notes, longevity, a trained nose - rather than trusting the word on the label.

Where does each belong? A quick spray for a fast fix; a composed diffuser fragrance for the ambient, all-day character of a room.

A luxury checklist that is not marketing

Rather than tell you a particular brand is ‘the luxury one’, here is a checklist you can apply to anything, including ours. If a product ticks these, it has earned the word better than its price tag suggests it.

Real composition, not a single flat note. A considered fragrance has structure - an opening, a heart, a base. A cheap air freshener is usually one loud accord designed to dominate, which is why it can feel harsh and tire quickly.
