Let's be honest up front: projection is the one thing oils trade away for longevity, so if raw room-filling power is your only goal, a spray will always win. But if you want a roll-on that projects as hard as an oil can — and there are real ways to push it — the answer is Nawaab, applied and layered deliberately.
Quick answers — read this first
Which SOSA roll-on projects the most? Nawaab (White Oud & Saffron, from ₹399). Its deep, resinous oud-saffron base is the strongest projector in the range and gives real presence in the first few hours of an evening.
Can an oil ever project like a spray? Not quite — that's the honest trade. Oils sit closer to skin by nature. You can push a roll-on's projection with layering and generous application, but for maximum reach an EDP spray is the tool built for the job.
How do I maximise a roll-on's projection? Apply generously to warm pulse points, layer it (moisturiser or matching EDP underneath), and reapply through the evening. Warm skin and multiple points push the trail as far as an oil goes.
The short answer
Short answer: Choose
Nawaab (from ₹399) — the deepest, most resinous base in the range and the strongest-projecting roll-on SOSA makes. To push it further, apply generously to warm points and layer it over moisturiser or a matching EDP. Be honest with yourself, though: if maximum room-filling reach is the whole point, a
spray EDP will out-project any oil.
Best pick: for longevity and projection, the
Nawaab attar (oud & saffron, from ₹399); for a fresh, subtle daily signature,
Adaa (from ₹379). Every attar is a 3/6/12ML roll-on.

Straight answer
How do I get the most projection possible from a roll-on?
Start with the loudest base: Nawaab. Oud and saffron are the biggest, most resinous notes in the range — the ones with the most reach an oil can offer.
Apply generously to warm points: neck, inner elbows and inner wrists. Body heat is what lifts a scent off the skin, so warm, well-covered pulse points project furthest.
Layer it: put an unscented moisturiser (or a matching warm EDP) underneath so the oil has a base to sit on and diffuse from. Then reapply once in the evening to keep the projection topped up.
Made in India; a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
Nawaab is the strongest-projecting roll-on SOSA makes. Apply generously to warm points and layer it. For maximum room reach, an EDP spray still wins — that's the honest trade.
How to push an oil's projection — and its limits
1
The strongest base
Oud and saffron reach furthest
SOSA Nawaab · White Oud & SaffronFrom ₹399 Projection in an oil comes from the boldness of its notes.
Nawaab's oud-saffron accord is the deepest and most resinous SOSA offers, which makes it the natural pick when reach matters. It genuinely projects for the first stretch of an evening before settling into a rich skin scent.
Tip: Nawaab projects hardest in its first two to three hours — apply just before an event, not hours ahead.
2
Technique
Warmth and layering push it
SOSA Attar Trio · pack of 3₹1,055 You can meaningfully increase a roll-on's reach. Apply to warm points, use more of it, and layer over moisturiser so the oil has something to diffuse from. Each of these nudges the trail outward — together they get an oil as loud as an oil gets.
Tip: Cooler weather also helps projection read cleaner; heat burns off the top and can flatten the trail.
3
The honest limit
When to reach for a spray
Zaffran EDP · saffron-amberFrom ₹599 There's a ceiling. Oils are built to stay close, so even a maxed-out Nawaab won't fill a hall the way an alcohol spray does. If room-filling projection is genuinely the top priority, SOSA's
EDP line is the right tool — or wear both: oil for longevity, spray for the opening reach.
Tip: Layer the two — Nawaab under a warm EDP gives you a spray's opening projection and an oil's all-night base.
Maximum longevity & projection SOSA Nawaab From ₹399 Nawaab (White Oud & Saffron) is the powerhouse of the range - a deep, resinous oud-saffron base that holds on skin for hours and projects for the first stretch of an evening. If longevity and presence are your priority, start here. Sizes 3ML (₹399), 6ML (₹699), 12ML (₹1,199). See Nawaab →
Why oils project less — and why that's usually the right trade
The same property that makes an attar last also limits how far it travels. Projection is largely driven by alcohol, which evaporates fast and flings the fragrance into the air as a diffusion cloud. An oil has almost none of that carrier, so instead of throwing itself outward it releases slowly from the skin — long life, tight trail. You can't fully cheat the physics: pushing a roll-on's projection with technique gets you to the top of what an oil can do, but not to what a spray does.
For most occasions, that trade is the right one. A scent that projects hard all day is exhausting to be around and often against you in an office or a crowded room. But there are nights — a wedding, a big evening out — when you genuinely want reach, and it's fair to want your roll-on to deliver as much as it can. Nawaab, applied generously and layered, is that maximum; and when even that isn't enough, layering a spray on top is the honest, effective answer rather than pretending an oil will do a spray's job.

The SOSA principle
Chasing maximum projection from an oil is fair — just know the ceiling. Nawaab, applied warm and layered, is as loud as an oil gets, and honestly told.
For life, wear the oil; for reach beyond its ceiling, layer or spray. Don't ask an oil to be an EDP.
Fresh, subtle & office-friendly SOSA Adaa From ₹379 Adaa (Bergamot + Cardamom + Jasmine Sambac) is the daytime-grace choice - clean, fresh, and sitting close to the skin, so it lasts without filling a shared room. The right pick for AC offices, hot-humid days and anyone who prefers a quiet signature. Sizes 3ML (₹379), 6ML (₹669), 12ML (₹1,149). See Adaa →
I won't tell you an oil projects like a spray — it doesn't. I'll tell you how to get every bit of reach an oil has, and when to reach for the spray instead.

The whole decision fits in one box: match the attar to the performance you actually want - longevity and projection, warm richness, a quiet floral, or hot-weather freshness - and remember an oil rewards you most on well-moisturised pulse points. How to read this box: attars are concentrated perfume oils, so as a family they wear
longer and closer to the skin than alcohol sprays - you trade some room-filling projection for longevity and a refined, intimate trail. For the most presence,
Nawaab (oud & saffron) projects hardest and lasts longest; for a clean daytime signature that won't overwhelm a shared cabin,
Adaa is the pick. Every attar comes as a 3ML pocket roll-on (from ₹379) that's effortless to reapply, plus 6ML and 12ML. Scent behaves differently on every person and in every climate, so give it ten minutes on your skin before you judge it, and layer on pulse points for more strength. Everything is made in India; a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
Why a roll-on oil Long wear, easy reapply From ₹379 An attar is concentrated perfume oil: it wears longer and closer to the skin than an alcohol spray, and the roll-on format is spill-proof and pocketable - the 3ML slips into a bag for touch-ups. Oils lean toward longevity and intimacy over big room-filling projection; for maximum projection, layer or choose the deeper Nawaab. Shop the range →

Everything is made and supported from Pune, and a part of every order funds girl-child education through Nanhi Kali. You get a fragrance that lasts; a girl gets a classroom. That equation has always felt right to me.
Frequently asked questions
Is Nawaab enough projection for a wedding?
For the first two to three hours, yes — Nawaab has real presence early in an evening, then settles close. If you want to fill a large hall for the whole event, layer it under a warm EDP so you get spray-level opening reach plus the oil's all-night base.
Does applying more oil increase projection?
Up to a point. More oil on more warm points does push the trail outward, but there's a ceiling where extra just adds longevity, not reach. Layering over moisturiser or an EDP is a more effective way to increase projection than volume alone.
Should I just buy a spray instead?
If maximum room-filling projection is your only priority, honestly, a
spray EDP is the right tool. But most people want both reach and longevity — for that, a Nawaab roll-on layered under a spray gives you the best of each.

About this guide: Written by Sonal Sahani, ISIPCA Versailles-trained founder and perfumer at SOSA Home & Body. Fragrance performance - longevity, projection and sillage - depends on the perfume, but also on your skin type, body chemistry, the weather and how much you apply, so descriptions here are honest guidance, not guarantees. Attars are concentrated perfume oils: they generally wear longer and closer to the skin than alcohol-based EDPs, trading some projection for longevity and intimacy. Always test on skin and give a fragrance ten minutes to settle before judging it; patch-test if you have sensitive skin, and keep oils away from the eyes.
