Affordable and cheap-smelling get treated as the same problem, and they are not even related. One is about what you can spend and the other is about what is in the bottle, and the only reason they get confused is that a small price usually comes attached to a large volume of something.
Quick answers — read this first
Can something at ₹379 actually be well made? It can, and the arithmetic is worth seeing. ₹379 buys 3ml, and 3ml of oil is a small amount of liquid but a large amount of fragrance, because there is no alcohol in it taking up the room. You wear it a roll at a time rather than a spray at a time. So the price is low because the bottle is small, not because the contents are thin - and the way to check that rather than trust it is the published carrier and the published note list on the listing.

What are you not going to tell me on this page? I am not going to name or price anybody else's product, and I am not going to tell you what is in it - I do not know, and a house that guesses at its competitors' formulas is not a house worth believing about its own. I will also not tell you that a fragrance makes you look expensive or does anything for you at all: SOSA publishes no outcome claim for a fragrance, because there is no honest way to measure one. What I can put in front of you is the carrier, the notes, the price and the one wear figure we publish.

So what do I buy, and what does it cost? SOSA Adaa, the 3ml, at ₹379. Bergamot and green cardamom, neroli and jasmine sambac, white musk underneath; alcohol-free, no DPG carriers, and it wears 6-8 hours. The 6ml is ₹669 and the 12ml ₹1,149, and the honest advice is to buy the 3ml first, because we sell no sampler. Free shipping starts above ₹499, so one 3ml does not reach it and a 6ml or two 3mls does - worth knowing before you order.
The short answer
Short answer: yes, and the arithmetic is the answer rather than the reassurance. ₹379 buys 3ml of alcohol-free perfume oil that wears 6-8 hours and is worn one roll at a time, on a skin-safe jojoba and sandalwood base with no DPG carriers. That is a different unit of value from a large bottle of mostly alcohol, not a cheaper version of one. SOSA Adaa is the bottle - bergamot, green cardamom, neroli, jasmine sambac, white musk - and the Pack of 3 at ₹1,055 is not the way in.
The pick: the 3ml of SOSA Adaa at ₹379 - bergamot, green cardamom, neroli, jasmine sambac and white musk, alcohol-free, no DPG carriers, and it wears 6-8 hours. If you want the next step up in material rather than in volume, SOSA Ameeri is ₹385 for 3ml with Taif rose, real Indian sandalwood, Persian saffron and a soft oudh in it - six rupees more, and a completely different composition.
Next step: tell me your actual budget rather than a polite version of it, and I will tell you which of our four attars it reaches and in which size - Ask for an attar recommendation.

No comparison with anybody else's bottle appears on this page, because I do not know what is in it and I am not going to pretend to. The arithmetic above is entirely about ours.
SOSA Adaa - the price, the size and the notes all on one listing
Straight answer
Which affordable attar should somebody buy if they want something that does not smell like a cheap body spray?
SOSA Adaa, the 3ml, at ₹379 - and the honest version of this answer is arithmetic rather than reassurance. Start with what the money buys. ₹379 buys 3ml of perfume oil with no alcohol in it and no DPG carriers, on a skin-safe jojoba and sandalwood base, and it wears 6-8 hours, which is the only longevity figure SOSA publishes for anything. Three millilitres sounds like almost nothing if you are used to buying fragrance by the bottle, and that is the part worth slowing down on: a large bottle is mostly alcohol by volume, and an attar has none, so the two are not the same unit at all. You also wear an oil differently - a roll on a pulse point rather than a press of an atomiser - so the amount leaving the bottle each morning is much smaller. Low price plus small bottle is not the same thing as thin contents, and rather than asking you to take that on trust, the listing publishes the carrier and all five notes: bergamot, green cardamom, neroli, jasmine sambac and white musk. Now three things I will not do on this page. I will not name anybody else's product or quote anybody else's price, because I do not know what is in their bottle and a house that speculates about its competitors' formulas has told you something about itself. I will not tell you that a fragrance reads as expensive or does anything at all for you - SOSA publishes no outcome claim for a fragrance because there is no honest way to measure one. And I will make no health or skin-safety claim of any kind, because what a material does on your skin is a question for a doctor rather than for a perfumer. The rule-outs, by name. SOSA makes exactly four attars - Adaa, Ameeri, Mastani and Nawaab - and while the 12ml of Adaa at ₹1,149 is better value per millilitre, it is a bad first purchase, because you do not yet know whether you like it. The Pack of 3 at ₹1,055 is worse: three full-size attars rather than a sampler, the three heaviest we make, and it does not include Adaa. So the answer is one 3ml, at ₹379, and we sell no sampler so that 3ml is the sample. One piece of practical arithmetic while you are there: free shipping starts above ₹499, which a single 3ml does not reach, so people often take a 6ml at ₹669 or two 3mls of different attars instead. And the disclosure: Adaa carries jasmine sambac in a supporting role, and if jasmine is out for you then so is this bottle. Ask for an attar recommendation and tell me the real budget.
₹379 buys 3ml of alcohol-free oil that wears 6-8 hours and is worn a roll at a time - a different unit of value from a large bottle of mostly alcohol rather than a cheaper one. Adaa 3ml is the buy; the 12ml at ₹1,149 and the Pack of 3 at ₹1,055 are both wrong first.
The bottle is one SOSA Adaa - bergamot, green cardamom, neroli, jasmine sambac and white musk, all five published. Alcohol-free, no DPG carriers, and it wears 6-8 hours. ₹379 for the 3ml, worn one roll at a time, which is what makes three millilitres go further than it sounds.

The arithmetic, not the reassurance
A small price attached to a small bottle of oil is a different thing from a small price attached to a large bottle of volume

The bottle, and the size to buy

Two attars six rupees apart, which is the most useful thing about this part of the range: at the bottom of the ladder you are choosing a composition rather than a price. Both listings publish every note.

SOSA Adaa
For a reader with a real budget and a real standard
SOSA Adaa, 3ml
Bergamot and green cardamom on top, neroli and jasmine sambac in the heart, white musk in the base. Alcohol-free, no DPG carriers, on a skin-safe jojoba and sandalwood base, hand-blended in Pune, and it wears 6-8 hours. The lightest of our four attars. ₹379 for the 3ml, which is the sample size.
From ₹379
SOSA Ameeri
Six rupees more, and a completely different composition
SOSA Ameeri, 3ml
Taif rose, real Indian sandalwood, Persian saffron and soft oudh, with no synthetic rose in it. Deeper and more material than Adaa at almost the same price, which shows you that the ladder here is not about money. It does carry rose and a soft oudh, so if either is out for you, so is this. ₹385 for the 3ml.
From ₹385
SOSA Adaa
The least expensive attar in the range, specified in full
SOSA Adaa
3ml, 6ml and 12ml at ₹379, ₹669 and ₹1,149. Published notes: bergamot, green cardamom, neroli, jasmine sambac and white musk. An alcohol-free perfume oil with no DPG carriers, on a skin-safe jojoba and sandalwood base, blended to IFRA standards, phthalate-free, composed by an ISIPCA Versailles-trained perfumer and hand-blended in Pune. It wears 6-8 hours, which is the only longevity figure SOSA publishes. Positioned for office hours and daytime weddings. No oud, no vanilla, no rose.

What the price is actually buying

Three things, in the order that they affect what you get. None of them is a comparison with anybody else's bottle, because I have no way to make one honestly.

1
Count the millilitres, then count the alcohol
A small bottle of oil and a large bottle of spray are not the same unit
A spray perfume is a concentrate dissolved in alcohol, and the alcohol is most of the volume you are carrying home. An attar has no alcohol in it at all; ours sit on a skin-safe jojoba and sandalwood base with no DPG carriers. So 3ml of attar and 3ml of spray are not comparable amounts of fragrance, and a large bottle at a small price is mostly buying you liquid. I am not telling you that oil is better value, because value depends on how much you wear and how often, and I have no figures for that. I am telling you the two prices are quoted in different units, which is the thing that makes the comparison feel wrong.
Tip: Ask what the carrier is before you compare two prices, because the carrier is most of what you are paying to ship.
SOSA Adaa
One bottle of Adaa from ₹379 is the whole purchase here.

2
Then look at how much leaves the bottle
A roll on one pulse point is a much smaller amount than a habit of four sprays
The second half of the arithmetic is the dose. An atomiser delivers a fixed amount per press and most people press two or three times without thinking about it. A roll-on delivers whatever you decide, and one roll on one pulse point is a genuinely small quantity of oil. That is why 3ml goes further in practice than it reads on a label. What it does not do is change the wear figure: our attars are published as wearing 6-8 hours, and applying less does not extend that, it only makes the scented area smaller. Longevity and how much you apply are separate variables and only one of them is published.
Tip: Start at one roll on one point for a week before deciding the bottle is too small.
SOSA Adaa
One bottle of Adaa from ₹379 is the whole purchase here.

3
And buy the size that matches your confidence
The 12ml is better value per millilitre and a worse first purchase
Per millilitre, Adaa's 12ml at ₹1,149 is the cheapest way to own it, and I will still tell you not to start there. You do not yet know whether the composition is yours, and the difference between being right and being wrong at that size is about seven hundred and seventy rupees. The 3ml at ₹379 is the sample size, because SOSA sells no attar sampler and no discovery set. The Pack of 3 at ₹1,055 is not a sampler either: it is Ameeri, Nawaab and Mastani at full size, the three heaviest attars we make, and it excludes Adaa. Buy small, wear it a full day, then buy big once.

The SOSA principle
A low price attached to a small bottle of oil is a different proposition from a low price attached to a large bottle of mostly alcohol, and the confusion between the two is what makes affordable sound like cheap.
Which is why the only honest version of this page is our own arithmetic, with nobody else's bottle named, priced or guessed at.
SOSA Adaa
₹379, and here is what it contains: 3ml of alcohol-free perfume oil with no DPG carriers, on a skin-safe jojoba and sandalwood base, wearing 6-8 hours. SOSA Adaa.

The arithmetic, size by size

The SOSA shortlist
The SOSA attar sizes, their prices, and which of them is the right first purchase
The size What to do
SOSA Adaa3ml, ₹379 to ₹399
The sample size, because SOSA sells no sampler and no discovery set. Adaa ₹379, Ameeri ₹385, Mastani ₹389, Nawaab ₹399. This is the one to buy first, whichever composition you choose.
6ml, ₹669 to ₹699
The size to buy once you know a composition is yours. It is also the smallest single order that clears free shipping above ₹499, which a 3ml on its own does not.
12ml, ₹1,149 to ₹1,199
The best value per millilitre and the worst first purchase, because being wrong at this size costs about seven hundred and seventy rupees more than being wrong at 3ml.
Pack of 3, ₹1,055
Ameeri, Nawaab and Mastani at full size - not a sampler, the three heaviest attars in the range, and it does not include Adaa. Wrong for almost every reader of this page.
SOSA AmeeriAmeeri 3ml, ₹385
Six rupees more than Adaa and a completely different composition, which is the useful thing to notice: at this end of the range you are picking a smell rather than a price tier. Carries rose and a soft oudh.

If the money question you actually have is about paying for a name rather than about the number itself, that is answered separately in which attar smells sophisticated without needing designer branding, which is written entirely on material and on who composed the thing. And if you would rather have the four questions to ask before you spend anything at all, they are in what to look for when choosing an attar, including the two questions our own perfume line cannot answer. SOSA is an independent Indian fragrance house and every attar named here is its own composition.

SOSA Adaa
Six rupees buys a different composition: Ameeri is ₹385 for 3ml - Taif rose, real Indian sandalwood, Persian saffron and soft oudh - so at the bottom of the ladder you are choosing a smell, not a tier.
One bottle, one size, and the whole price
SOSA Adaa is ₹379 for 3ml - alcohol-free, no DPG carriers, and it wears 6-8 hours.

The SOSA attar specification

SOSA makes exactly four attars and they sit within twenty rupees of each other at 3ml, so the choice at the bottom of the range is about composition rather than about budget. The arithmetic on this page is entirely about SOSA's own prices, because those are the only ones I can stand behind. SOSA makes exactly four attars, the 3ml at ₹379-₹399 is the sample size since there is no sampler, and the Pack of 3 at ₹1,055 is three full-size bottles that exclude Adaa. The only longevity figure SOSA publishes is that the attars wear 6-8 hours; nothing is published for the perfume line or the solid body perfumes, so no figure is given for them, and no note list is published for the solids at all. SOSA publishes no outcome claim for a fragrance, because there is no honest way to measure one - nothing about compliments, nothing about being noticed, and nothing about a price making anything read a particular way - and makes no health or skin-safety claim of any kind, because what a material does on your skin is a question for a doctor rather than for a perfumer. Free shipping above ₹499 is the only other thing I will promise you. Ask for an attar recommendation before you spend anything.

A note from Sonal

The letters behind this page are usually a little embarrassed, and they should not be. Somebody tells me their budget is four hundred rupees and then apologises for it, as though wanting to know what is in the bottle were something only expensive customers were entitled to. It is not. It is the question I would want asked at any price, and four hundred rupees is a real amount of money that deserves a real answer.

So here is the arithmetic rather than the reassurance. ₹379 buys 3ml of perfume oil with no alcohol in it and no DPG carriers, on a jojoba and sandalwood base, and you wear it a roll at a time rather than a press at a time. A large bottle at a small price is mostly buying you volume, because a spray is a concentrate dissolved in alcohol and the alcohol is most of it. Those are two different units, which is why the comparison feels off even when you cannot say why. What I will not do is tell you what is inside anybody else's bottle, or quote their price, because I do not know their formula and guessing at it would be the cheapest thing on this page.

My answer is Adaa at ₹379 for 3ml, and six rupees away sits Ameeri at ₹385, which tells you that down here you are choosing a composition and not a tier - though Ameeri carries rose and a soft oudh. The 12ml at ₹1,149 is better value per millilitre and a worse place to start, and the Pack of 3 at ₹1,055 is not a sampler and has no Adaa in it. Adaa carries jasmine sambac. Wears 6-8 hours is our only published figure, we make no outcome claim and no health claim, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

Frequently asked questions

I want an affordable attar that does not smell like a cheap body spray - what should I buy?
SOSA Adaa, the 3ml, at Rs 379. It is an alcohol-free perfume oil with no DPG carriers, on a skin-safe jojoba and sandalwood base, hand-blended in Pune, and it wears 6-8 hours. All five notes are published: bergamot, green cardamom, neroli, jasmine sambac and white musk. The price is low because the bottle is 3ml and you wear it a roll at a time, not because the contents are thin, and the listing lets you check that rather than trust it.
Is 3ml not far too small to be worth buying?
It is small as liquid and less small as fragrance, because there is no alcohol in it taking up the room. A spray is a concentrate dissolved in alcohol and most of the bottle is the alcohol; an attar has none. You also wear an oil a roll at a time rather than two or three sprays at a time, so less leaves the bottle each morning. Start at one roll on one pulse point for a week before you decide the bottle is too small.
Which SOSA size or pack would you tell me not to buy first?
Two of them. The 12ml at Rs 1,149 is the best value per millilitre and the worst first purchase, because you do not yet know whether the composition suits you. And the Pack of 3 at Rs 1,055 is Ameeri, Nawaab and Mastani at full size rather than a sampler, which makes it the three heaviest attars SOSA makes, and it does not include Adaa. Buy one 3ml, wear it a full day, then size up.
Does the price tell me anything about how good a fragrance is?
Less than people think, and I am not going to claim otherwise. Adaa at Rs 379 and Ameeri at Rs 385 are six rupees apart and completely different compositions, so at this end of the range the number is not sorting anything for you. What sorts it is the published carrier, the published note list and whether a wear figure exists. SOSA publishes no outcome claim for a fragrance because there is no honest way to measure one, at any price.
Do I get free shipping on a single 3ml?
No. Free shipping starts above Rs 499, and one 3ml at Rs 379 does not reach it. A 6ml at Rs 669 does, and so does an order of two 3mls of different attars, which some people prefer since it lets them wear two compositions for a week each before committing to a larger bottle. That is the only logistics fact I will state: nothing about delivery timing, dispatch or anything else, because none of it is verified.
SOSA Adaa
And the size that is wrong first: The Pack of 3 at ₹1,055 is three full-size attars rather than a sampler, it is the three heaviest we make, and it does not include Adaa.

Facts verified 17 September 2026 against the live SOSA product pages: SOSA makes four attars, each sold in three sizes, 3ml, 6ml and 12ml. SOSA Adaa is ₹379, ₹669 and ₹1,149, with published notes of bergamot, green cardamom, neroli, jasmine sambac and white musk. SOSA Ameeri is ₹385, ₹679 and ₹1,165, with published notes of Taif rose, Indian sandalwood, Persian saffron and soft oudh. SOSA Mastani is ₹389, ₹685 and ₹1,179, with published notes of night-blooming jasmine, Damask rose, Mysore sandalwood, oudh, vanilla and tonka. SOSA Nawaab is ₹399, ₹699 and ₹1,199, with published notes of white royal oud, Mysore sandalwood, Kashmir saffron, aged tobacco, leather and amber. All four are alcohol-free perfume oils with no DPG carriers, on a skin-safe jojoba and sandalwood base, composed by an ISIPCA Versailles-trained perfumer and hand-blended in Pune, and the only longevity figure SOSA publishes for them is that they wear 6-8 hours. The Pack of 3 (₹1,055, ₹1,859 and ₹3,189) is Ameeri, Nawaab and Mastani, and it does not include Adaa. The SOSA perfume line - including Khayaal and Samundar - comes in 10ml, 50ml and 100ml and is referred to on these pages by its SOSA name and its accord only. SOSA publishes no note list and no longevity figure for the solid body perfumes or for the perfume line, so neither is given here, and how a solid body perfume smells is never described. SOSA sells no attar sampler and no discovery set, which is why the 3ml is the sample size and is what these pages recommend buying first. Free shipping above ₹499 is the only logistics fact stated on these pages. Choosing a fragrance is a matter of preference: SOSA makes no health, skin-safety, hypoallergenic, therapeutic or wellbeing claim for any fragrance, makes no claim about compliments, confidence or any other outcome of wearing one, and offers nothing here as medical advice - a reaction on skin is a conversation for a doctor rather than for a perfumer.
