Is there a white musk or sandalwood attar in the range? No to both, and that is worth saying plainly. White musk is the base of Adaa and one material in Nawaab. Indian sandalwood is a major note in Ameeri and in Nawaab. In neither case is it the whole composition, and SOSA makes four attars in total, so there is no standalone musk and no standalone sandalwood to buy here. If that is specifically what you want, buy it from somebody who makes it.
Which is the better everyday choice, Adaa or Ameeri? That depends on whether you want quiet or warm, and it is the one thing a page cannot decide for you - which is the argument for buying both at 3ml for ₹764 rather than one at 6ml. Adaa is the soft, clean, woody-musk close; Ameeri is sandalwood and rose with saffron and a soft oudh. Wear each for a week and the choice makes itself.
What ₹1,000 buys, exactly. Two 3mls: ₹758 for two of the lightest, ₹798 for two of the deepest, and ₹764 for the pair I would actually suggest. Or one 6ml - ₹669 Adaa, ₹679 Ameeri, ₹685 Mastani, ₹699 Nawaab - which leaves you between ₹301 and ₹331. What it does not buy is a 12ml. The cheapest is Adaa at ₹1,149, so you are ₹149 short, and no amount of reading closes that gap. It also just misses the trio, which at 3ml is ₹1,055 - ₹55 over, which is annoying and worth knowing.
Now the families, and the honest part. We do not make a white musk attar. White musk is the base of Adaa and one of the materials in Nawaab; it is a drydown in this range, never the subject. We do not make a sandalwood attar either. Indian sandalwood is a major note in Ameeri and in Nawaab, and in neither is it the whole composition. If what you want is sandalwood and nothing else, four compositions is our entire range and none of them is that, and you should buy it from somebody who makes it.
Soft woody, though, we can answer. Two ways, depending on which half of the phrase you mean. Adaa - bergamot, green cardamom, jasmine sambac, white musk - opens fresh and closes soft and clean, and it is the nearest thing in the range to what most people mean by a quiet woody-musk. Ameeri - Taif rose, Indian sandalwood, Persian saffron, soft oudh - is the warm one, with the sandalwood doing a lot of the work and the oudh kept deliberately soft. Those are genuinely different propositions, and the reason I am recommending two 3mls rather than one 6ml is that nothing I write here can tell you which of the two you will reach for on a Tuesday morning.
What "everyday" actually demands. Three things, and none of them is on a note list. It has to be wearable at close range by people who did not choose it, which is a question of dose more than composition. It has to survive repetition without boring you, which argues for a composition with something happening in the drydown rather than a single bright idea. And it has to be dosed low without disappearing - one dab at a pulse point, two if you want it read across a table, and never rubbed in, because oil opens with warmth and rubbing crushes the top of it. All four of ours are 6-8 hours on skin, longer on warm or oily skin, and that figure does not change with the size of the bottle.
And "sophisticated", which is the word doing the least work in your question. I cannot sell you sophisticated, because it is not a property of an oil. What I can describe is the thing people usually mean by it: a composition that moves - different in hour one and hour four - rather than one that announces itself and then sits still. That is drydown, and it is describable, checkable and worth paying for. What a higher price can and cannot honestly buy you is set out here.
So, the order of operations. Buy two 3mls. Wear one for a week, then the other for a week, on your own skin and in your own rooms, and write down which one you reached for without thinking. That is your everyday attar, and the 6ml of it is ₹669 to ₹699 whenever you want it. The one-bottle-against-several question is worth reading before you decide, and if you would rather commit now, here is why the better per-millilitre deal is the worse purchase on something unworn.
Three things Rs 1,000 has to choose between
At this budget you are choosing between information and volume, and only one of them is still useful to you tomorrow.
The soft woody answer, twice
Adaa, whose 3ml is ₹379, is bergamot and green cardamom over jasmine sambac and white musk. Fresh at the top, soft and clean at the close, four materials, and the easiest of the four to wear without thinking about it. If your mental picture of an everyday attar is something quiet that does not announce you in a lift, this is the one to test first.
| Option | When it is the right call |
|---|---|
| Two 3mls, ₹758 to ₹798 |
Two compositions on your own skin · the best information this budget buys · ₹202 to ₹242 back Trade-off: Two small bottles rather than one you can live in for months |
| One 6ml, ₹669 to ₹699 |
Twice the volume of one composition · ₹301 to ₹331 back Trade-off: Twice as much of a composition you have not worn yet, which is the wrong thing to double |
| A 12ml, from ₹1,149 |
The best volume arithmetic in the range · same liquid as the 3ml Trade-off: Not at this budget - the cheapest one leaves you ₹149 short, and it is the wrong size for an unworn composition anyway |
| The trio, 3ml ₹1,055 |
Three of the four at once · Ameeri, Nawaab and Mastani Trade-off: ₹55 over your budget, and it leaves out Adaa, which is probably the answer to your question |
Ameeri, whose 3ml is ₹385, is Taif rose, Indian sandalwood and Persian saffron with the oudh kept soft. It is the warm half of your question and the closest the range comes to a sandalwood-led attar, though sandalwood shares it with a rose and a saffron rather than owning it. Together the two of them come to ₹764, which leaves ₹236 of your budget unspent and both ends of your question answered on skin.
The SOSA attar range
Every SOSA attar is alcohol-free and IFRA-compliant on a jojoba carrier with no DPG, hand-blended in small batches in Pune. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali. There are four, and the honest way to read them is by depth - how much the base note is doing.
| Attar | Built on | What it is, honestly | 3ml |
|---|---|---|---|
| Adaa | Bergamot, green cardamom, jasmine sambac, white musk | The lightest of the four and the easiest first attar. Jasmine sambac is mogra, so this is also the mogra answer | ₹379 |
| Ameeri | Taif rose, Indian sandalwood, Persian saffron, soft oudh | The warm one. Rose and sandalwood doing most of the work, with the oudh kept soft | ₹385 |
| Mastani | Night-blooming jasmine, Damask rose, oudh | The most floral. A different jasmine and a different rose from Adaa and Ameeri | ₹389 |
| Nawaab | White royal oud, sandalwood, saffron, tobacco leaf, amber, leather | The deepest in the range. Not a first attar unless you already know you like oud | ₹399 |
| The trio | Ameeri, Nawaab and Mastani together | Three of the four at once. The honest answer when you cannot choose and will not guess | ₹1,055 |
Four honest notes. A note list is not a smell. Every composition above is described in the words we would use ourselves, and those words still cannot tell you how it will sit on your skin - which is the whole reason the 3ml exists. On the sizes: 3ml, 6ml and 12ml are the same liquid, and the only reason to buy the larger ones is that you already know. If you have not worn it, buy the smallest and let it earn the upgrade. On wear: all four are 6-8 hours on skin, longer on warm or oily skin, and that is the only figure we publish. We do not publish a drop count, a per-application cost, or a comparison with how long anybody else's fragrance lasts - including sprays. On what we do not make: there is no standalone musk, sandalwood, amber, tuberose, vetiver, khus, aquatic or tobacco attar in this range. Four compositions is the whole range, and where your answer is not one of them, this page will say so rather than talk you into the nearest thing.
Versailles
Attars are the part of this business where the marketing is worst, and I would like ours to be the boring, accurate version. Most of the category sells a bottle on adjectives - royal, exotic, hypnotic, long-lasting - and on numbers nobody has measured. You cannot smell any of it before you pay, so the words are doing all the work, and almost nobody writes them honestly.
So here is what I will and will not tell you. I will tell you what is in each of the four, in the order you meet it, and that they wear 6-8 hours on my skin. I will not tell you that one of them smells expensive, or that it will turn heads, or that it lasts twelve hours, because I cannot know the first two about you and have not measured the third. The honest sequence is: read the notes, buy the 3ml, wear it for a week, and only then buy a size. If none of our four matches what you have described to yourself, I would rather say so than sell you the nearest one.
The other thing worth knowing is how little you need. An attar is concentrated oil, and the commonest mistake is wearing it like a spray - a long press at the neck and another at the wrists. One dab at a pulse point is the dose. Two if you want it read across a dinner table. Do not rub it in; oil opens with warmth, and rubbing crushes the top of it. That is the entire dial, and most people never need the top of it. A portion of every order supports girl-child education.

What this guide does not claim.
- An attar is a fragrance and nothing else.
- - it names what a composition is built from and the order you meet it in, which is a description of an intention rather than a measurement, and it is
- . Nothing here should be read as advice about health, allergies or anyone's wellbeing, and no fragrance on this page is claimed to affect anybody's mood, comfort, confidence or state of mind. Where a reader describes a preference none of our four compositions matches, these guides say so and sell nothing.

On wear.
- SOSA publishes one figure:
- . SOSA does not publish a drop count, a cost per application, a projection rating, or any comparison with how long another format or another company's fragrance lasts. Where a customer review reports a different number, that is one person's experience of their own skin and not a measurement SOSA stands behind.
On what is in the bottle.
- The composition lists above name the materials a fragrance is built from. They are not a statement of grade, percentage or geographic origin, and this guide makes no claim about either. Where origin or grade matters to you, ask before you buy - that is a fair question and the answer belongs to the product page rather than to an article.
On other companies.
- Where another fragrance brand is named in these guides it is because a reader named it, and the page answers what they asked. Nothing here states what any other company's product contains, how long it lasts, what it costs or how it performs.
- , and no other company has reviewed or approved this content. If a product you already own suits you, keep it - several pages in this guide say exactly that.
On availability.
- SOSA is an online fragrance house and ships across India; it holds no retail counters, and no delivery window is quoted here. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali. Prices and availability change - see the live product pages.
