A dealership is one building with several completely different jobs going on inside it, and each one has its own air. Here is the whole plan on one page: which zones to scent, how to size each one, where the machines go, what to run them at, and the two areas you should ventilate rather than perfume.
Quick answers — read this first
How do I plan scenting for a whole automobile dealership? Split the site into separately air-handled zones, then size each one by air volume. The showroom floor, the customer lounge and the delivery bay are the three that matter. One SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) covers 1000m³, about 2,000-3,000 sq ft at normal height, so a tall glass showroom often needs two while the lounge and delivery bay take one each. A large dealership on central air handling can use one SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) for the main hall instead. Leave the workshop and the service reception out of the plan until their extraction is right.
Which parts of a car dealership should be scented? The customer-facing rooms: the showroom floor, the customer lounge, the delivery or handover bay and the sales cabins. Not the workshop, and not the service reception while it still smells of oil, rubber and solvent, because that is a ventilation problem and fragrance layered on top gives you both smells at once.
Should the fragrance be stronger than the new-car smell? No. New-car smell is something buyers genuinely value, so the fragrance should sit under it, not compete with it. Run the SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) at a low or medium intensity on the display floor and keep the machine away from cars with their doors open.
The short answer
Short answer: plan it zone by zone. One SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) covers up to 1000m³, about 2,000-3,000 sq ft, and a glass-fronted showroom with a tall ceiling usually needs one or two, with a separate Vaayu for the customer lounge and one for the delivery bay; a large dealership on central air handling can take one SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) for the main hall instead.
The pick: the SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) for the showroom floor, the lounge and the delivery bay, stepping up to the SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) when the main hall is on central HVAC and runs past what one or two Vaayu can honestly cover.
Next step: send the showroom drawings with ceiling heights marked and we will do the volume maths zone by zone - book a free scenting plan.
A dealership is not one space. It is three or four separately moving bodies of air, plus two areas that should be ventilated rather than scented. Size each scented zone in cubic metres and the machine count answers itself.
How do I plan the scenting for an entire car dealership from scratch?
Start by drawing the site as bodies of air rather than as rooms. A dealership normally has three or four that move separately: the showroom floor, the customer lounge, the delivery or handover bay, and sometimes a first-floor accessories or pre-owned display. Measure each one as length times width times height, because showrooms are built with glass frontage and tall ceilings and that is exactly where floor-area rules fall apart: a 3,000 sq ft floor at six metres holds nearly twice the air of the same floor at three and a half. One SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) is rated to 1000m³, so a modest showroom is one machine and a tall glass one is often two. Give the lounge its own Vaayu a step softer, and the delivery bay its own, scheduled around handover appointments rather than left running all day. Where the whole hall sits on the building's central air handling and the volume runs beyond what two Vaayu cover honestly, use one SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) on the HVAC and let the existing airflow carry it. Two rules keep the plan honest. First, the fragrance sits under the new-car smell, never over it, so run low on the display floor. Second, the workshop and the service reception are not fragrance problems: oil, rubber and solvent need extraction, a proper door and air movement, and scent added before that simply gives you both smells at once. Both machines are waterless, so there is no damp and no residue on paintwork, chrome or glass. A free scenting plan will do the volume maths from your drawings, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
Count separately moving bodies of air, not rooms. Showroom, lounge and delivery bay get machines; workshop and service reception get ventilation.
For most dealership zones the answer is one SOSA Vaayu each - waterless, under 38dB, rated to 1000m³ (about 2,000-3,000 sq ft), with a 400ml tank that runs up to 75 days and a Bluetooth app timer you can set to showroom hours. A tall glass floor may take two. Step up to the Angaan when the main hall is on central HVAC.
A dealership plan uses two machines and no more. The Vaayu handles each normal zone; the Angaan takes over when the main hall is large and already on central air handling. Both pictures link to the product page so your projects team can check the specification before signing off.
Showroom floor, lounge, delivery bay, sales cabins
Waterless cold-air nebuliser rated to 1000m³ - about 2,000-3,000 sq ft. 400ml tank lasting up to 75 days, Bluetooth app with 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, under 38dB, key-lock for public floors. No water, no heat, no residue on vehicles or glass.
Glass frontage and a six-metre ceiling mean a big air volume for a modest floor area. Where the maths comes out above 1000m³, a second Vaayu on the far side of the floor is cleaner than pushing one machine too hard.
HVAC nebulising diffuser rated to 3,000m³, about 8,000-10,000 sq ft, with an 800ml reservoir, metal body, programmable schedules and under 42dB running. Carries scent on the airflow the building already has.
1000m³ coverage (about 2,000-3,000 sq ft), 400ml tank lasting up to 75 days, Bluetooth app and 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, under 38dB, freestanding or wall and HVAC mount, auto-stop and key-lock. CE, RoHS and SGS certified. Made in India.
Three questions build the whole plan: how much air is in each zone, which zones deserve fragrance at all, and when each machine should be running.
1
Measure the air, not the floor plan
Glass frontage and tall ceilings change the maths
A showroom is designed to be seen from the road, which means height and glass. That is lovely for the cars and inconvenient for anyone sizing a diffuser from floor area. A 3,000 sq ft display floor at 3.5 metres is roughly 975m³ and comfortably one Vaayu. The same floor at six metres is about 1,670m³ and honestly needs two. Do the multiplication for every zone, divide by 1000, and round sensibly. If a single connected volume comes out past 3,000m³, stop adding small machines and put the question to a consultation.
Tip: measure the ceiling before you count machines - it is the number most dealerships forget.
The Vaayu is rated to 1000m³, about 2,000-3,000 sq ft at a normal ceiling. That one number does most of the zoning for you.
The workshop and service reception come off the list
This is the part of the plan that saves money and credibility. A workshop smells of oil, rubber, brake cleaner and exhaust, and no diffuser on the market will cover that, ours included. The service reception usually smells of it too, because it shares a door with the bays. Fix that with extraction, a self-closing door and air moving the right way, then scent the service waiting lounge where customers actually sit. Do the same with the wash bay and the paint area. Scent only what you have already made clean.
Where the main hall is on central air handling, the Angaan uses that airflow to scent up to 3,000m³ evenly instead of fighting it.
Scent that switches on as a family walks in is obvious, and obvious is the opposite of premium. Schedule each machine to start half an hour to forty-five minutes before opening so the fragrance has diffused and settled. Showroom doors open repeatedly through the day to move vehicles in and out, so expect to lose some air every time and to run slightly longer than an enclosed space would need. In the delivery bay, tie the schedule to the handover appointments rather than leaving it on all day.
Tip: set the app timer to showroom hours and appointment slots, not to office hours.
The Vaayu app handles 1h, 4h, 8h and 24h schedules with adjustable intensity, so the sales team never has to think about it.
Most dealerships buy machines for rooms and end up with a building that smells like five different shops. Buy them for bodies of air instead and the whole site smells like one brand.
And leave two zones off the plan entirely. A workshop is a ventilation job, not a fragrance job.
When two Vaayu are no longer the tidy answer: SOSA Angaan connects to your HVAC and scents up to 3,000m³ - about 8,000-10,000 sq ft - which is the honest choice for a large main hall already on central air handling, ₹25,999.
Here is the sizing decision in one table. Normal-height showroom floors, lounges and delivery bays are Vaayu territory. A large main hall on central air handling is where the Angaan earns its price.
The SOSA plan
Dealership sizing - one table, two machines
Your space
What it needs
A showroom floor up to about 2,500 sq ft at normal ceiling height
One SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) on the air path, rated to 1000m³, run at low to medium. View →
A glass-fronted floor of 3,000-5,000 sq ft with a five or six metre ceiling
Two Vaayu, one per half of the floor, both carrying the same fragrance. View →
Customer lounge, delivery bay or service waiting area
One Vaayu each. The lounge runs a step softer, the delivery bay runs to appointments. View →
A large main hall already on central air handling
One SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) on the HVAC - 3,000m³ carried on the building's own airflow. View →
On the fragrance itself, choose one profile and use it in every machine on site. Air-conditioned showrooms flatten sweetness and amplify anything heavy, so a restrained clean profile holds up from ten in the morning to closing while a dessert-like one turns cloying by the third customer. Keep it under the new-car smell rather than over it. Once the zones are agreed, the two things left to settle are placement and count, and those have their own guides: where the machines should actually be installed and how many a large dealership needs.
The dealership machine: SOSA Vaayu, 1000m³ coverage, 400ml tank lasting up to 75 days, app timer and key-lock for public floors, ₹11,999.
SOSA Vaayu ₹11,999 covers up to 1000m³ - about 2,000-3,000 sq ft. Send the drawings with ceiling heights and we will confirm the zone plan before you buy.
Two machines, one decision per zone. The Vaayu handles a normal showroom floor, the lounge and the delivery bay; the Angaan takes over when the main hall is large and already on central air handling. Both are waterless, so there is no damp and no residue on paintwork, chrome, leather or glass, and both are made in India. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
A quick word on choosing: the count comes from air volume, not from the number of rooms or the size of the budget. And an honest one - fragrance works alongside ventilation and cleaning, never instead of it. It cannot cover solvent, tyre or exhaust smell in a workshop or service area, and it cannot cover fresh paint or adhesive in a new fit-out. Sort the extraction, then scent the customer-facing rooms. The quickest way to get the specification right is a free scenting plan from your drawings.

A note from Sonal
A car showroom is a strange room to walk into. It is enormous, it is mostly glass, it is cold, and it is full of objects that already have a smell of their own. Most dealerships I visit have never thought about the air at all, so what a customer actually meets at the door is cold metal, floor cleaner and whatever came in from the road. The building is spotless and it still smells of nothing in particular.
My advice is to plan it as zones and to be ruthless about how few machines you need. Work out the cubic metres of the showroom floor, the customer lounge and the delivery bay, and let one Vaayu do as much of each as it honestly can at 1000m³ a machine. Tall glass floors often need two. When the main hall is large and already on central air handling, one Angaan on the HVAC is cleaner than four small units fighting each other across the same volume.
And the honest part, which I say to every dealer principal. Fragrance cannot cover a workshop. Oil, rubber, solvent and exhaust need extraction and air movement, and scent laid over them gives you both smells at once, which is worse than either. It cannot cover fresh paint or adhesive in a new fit-out either. Scent works alongside ventilation and cleaning, never instead of them, and I make no claim that fragrance sells a car. It makes a finished building feel finished. Everything is made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
Frequently asked questions
How many scent machines does a full car dealership need?
Usually three or four, one per separately moving body of air. Multiply length by width by height for the showroom floor, the customer lounge and the delivery bay, then divide by 1000 cubic metres, which is what one SOSA Vaayu (Rs 11,999) covers, roughly 2,000 to 3,000 sq ft at a normal ceiling. A glass-fronted floor with a six metre ceiling often needs two on its own. A large main hall already on central air handling can take one SOSA Angaan (Rs 25,999) instead.
Which areas of a dealership should not be scented?
The workshop, the wash bay, the paint area and the service reception while it still smells of oil, rubber and solvent. Those are ventilation problems. Fix the extraction, the door and the direction of the airflow first, then scent the service waiting lounge where customers actually sit.
Will the fragrance interfere with new-car smell?
It should not, and it should not try to. New-car smell is something buyers genuinely value, so run the machine at low to medium intensity on the display floor and keep it away from vehicles standing with their doors open. The fragrance is meant to sit under the car, not over it.
Do showroom doors opening for vehicle movement ruin the scenting?
No, but they change the run schedule. Every time the doors open to move a car you lose some conditioned air, so a showroom needs a slightly longer run than an enclosed room of the same size. Start 30 to 45 minutes before opening and run a steady low intensity rather than short strong bursts.
Can one machine cover the showroom and the lounge together?
Only if they genuinely share one body of moving air. A lounge with its own door and its own split unit is a separate volume and needs its own machine. The test is simple: if you can close a door between two spaces, treat them as two.
Plan it once, run it all year: One SOSA Vaayu per 1000m³ of customer-facing air, the same fragrance in every machine, scheduled to showroom hours. ₹11,999.
The SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) covers up to 1000m³, about 2,000-3,000 sq ft, and handles most dealership zones on its own; the SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) takes a large main hall on your HVAC. Both waterless, both made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali. Send your drawings with ceiling heights and we will confirm the plan before you spend anything.
