It would be easy for me to tell you to buy a scent for every month — I sell fragrance. So let me be honest instead. You need two, maybe three. A fresh one for the heat and a warm one for the cold do most of the year's work; a grounding third for the monsoon is a nice-to-have, not a must.

Quick answer

The honest number: two to three seasonal fragrances, not twelve.

The minimum: one fresh (summer) + one warm (winter) — two Hotel Collection bottles (₹299 each) and one Sukoon.

The third: a clean grounding scent for the monsoon, only if the damp months feel like their own season where you live.

The short version
Short answer: Two covers most homes; three is the comfortable maximum. Buy them one at a time as the seasons turn.
The pick: Sukoon ₹1,799 + a fresh Four Seasons-inspired scent and a warm Ritz-Carlton-inspired scent (₹299 each); add a grounding monsoon bottle if you need it.
Shop: Sukoon ₹1,799 · Hotel Collection ₹299 · refills ₹999 · all home scenting

There is a version of home fragrance that is really just shopping — a new bottle every few weeks, a shelf of half-used scents, a vague guilt about the ones that dried out untouched. I do not want to sell you that. A seasonal wardrobe should be small enough that you finish what you own and every bottle earns its place. Here is how I would think about the number.

The honest count
Two, three, or more — where should you land?

Two is the real minimum, and enough for most. A fresh scent for the hot months and a warm scent for winter cover the two moods that matter most. The fresh one, run in short sessions, also carries you through a mild monsoon. Most homes never genuinely need more than this.

Three is the comfortable maximum. Add a clean, grounding scent for the monsoon if the wet season is long and heavy where you live — much of coastal and western India. A passive Mountain Breeze reed works beautifully here because it adds no humidity.

More than three is usually shopping, not scenting. Beyond a fresh, a warm and a grounding bottle, you are buying variety for its own sake. If you love that, wonderful — but you do not need it, and a scent you run all year slowly disappears to your own nose anyway.

How many, and for whom
Pick your number honestly
You are Buy Why
Most homes / mild monsoon 2 bottles Fresh for heat + warm for winter; run the fresh one in short sessions through the rains.
Coastal / long heavy monsoon 3 bottles Add a clean grounding scent, or a passive Mountain Breeze reed for the wet months.
You love the ritual 3 + rotate Three families, rotated by mood as well as season — the ceiling before it becomes clutter.
Sukoon ultrasonic diffuser runs every seasonal fragrance
The one thing you buy once
Sukoon ultrasonic diffuser ₹1,799
Whether you own two seasonal fragrances or three, you need only one diffuser. The Sukoon runs every ₹299 Hotel Collection bottle — you simply rinse the tank when you change families. Buy the machine once; let the little bottles be what changes.
A scent you run all year slowly vanishes to your own nose. Two or three, rotated, stay alive.
The SOSA seasonal principle

One honest caveat that argues for fewer, not more. The nose habituates — run a single fragrance every day and within a week you stop smelling it, even as visitors notice it clearly. This is the real case for a small seasonal wardrobe: it is not about owning more, it is about the gaps between. Switching families as the weather turns resets your nose so each scent feels new when it comes back. Two well-chosen bottles you actually rotate will always beat six that blur into one.

Frequently asked
How many seasonal home fragrances do I actually need?
Two or three. The honest minimum is two: one fresh fragrance for the hot months and one warm fragrance for winter, which between them cover most of the Indian year. A third, clean and grounding, is worth adding for the monsoon if you find the damp months need their own answer. There is no real reason to own a separate scent for every month — that is fragrance you will not finish before it fades.
Is two fragrances really enough for the whole year?
For many homes, yes. A fresh scent handles summer and even the milder edges of other seasons, and a warm scent handles winter and cool evenings. Run the fresh one in short sessions through the monsoon and you have the wet months covered too. Two ₹299 Hotel Collection bottles and one Sukoon is a complete, genuine seasonal wardrobe.
When is a third seasonal fragrance worth it?
Add a third when the monsoon feels like its own season in your home — heavy, damp, closed-up for months, as it is on much of the coast. A clean grounding scent, or a passive woody reed like Mountain Breeze that adds no humidity, gives the wet months a proper answer. If your monsoon is short or mild, the fresh summer bottle run in short sessions is enough and you can stay at two.
Should I buy all my seasonal fragrances at once?
No. Buy the diffuser plus the bottle for the season you are in, use it fully, then add the next as the weather turns. Spreading the purchases means every bottle is one you will actually use while it is fresh, and it lets your nose tell you whether you genuinely want a third scent before you buy it.
Does rotating between a few fragrances keep them from getting boring?
Yes, and that is one of the quiet advantages of a small seasonal wardrobe. The nose tunes out a constant smell within days, so a scent you run all year slowly disappears to you even while guests notice it. Switching families with the season resets your nose, so each fragrance feels new again every time it comes back around.
Start small, honestly
Two bottles, one diffuser, a whole year covered.
Begin with a Sukoon and a fresh summer scent. Add a warm winter one, and a grounding monsoon third only if you need it. That is a real seasonal wardrobe — no shelf of half-used bottles required.
