This page is the arithmetic and nothing else. Three steps, the numbers already filled in for a 5,000 sq ft floor at five different ceiling heights, and the one rule that tells you when to stop adding machines and buy a bigger one instead.
Quick answers — read this first
How many scent machines does a 5,000 sq ft car showroom need? Two, at a normal ceiling height. A 5,000 sq ft floor is 465m², which at a 10 ft ceiling holds about 1,417m³ and at 14 ft about 1,983m³. One SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) is rated to 1000m³, so two units cover it for ₹23,998. At 16 ft the volume reaches roughly 2,267m³ and the honest answer becomes one SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) rather than three small machines.
How do you calculate how many diffusers a showroom needs? Three steps. Multiply the square footage by 0.0929 to get square metres. Multiply that by the ceiling height in metres to get cubic metres. Divide by 1000, the rating of one SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999), and round up. If the result for a single connected volume is three or more, switch to one SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) at 3,000m³ instead of stacking small machines.
Is two diffusers enough for a 5,000 sq ft showroom? Yes, up to about a 14 ft ceiling. Two SOSA Vaayu (₹23,998 the pair) cover 2,000m³ between them against the 1,417 to 1,983m³ a 5,000 sq ft floor holds at 10 to 14 ft. Above that the volume outgrows two units, and one SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) rated to 3,000m³ is the cleaner answer.
The short answer
Short answer: two at a normal ceiling height. 5,000 sq ft is 465m², which is about 1,417m³ at 10 ft and 1,983m³ at 14 ft, against the 1000m³ rating of one SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999), so two units at ₹23,998 cover it. At 16 ft or above the volume passes 2,267m³ and one SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) replaces them.
The pick: two SOSA Vaayu (₹23,998 for the pair) below about 14 ft of ceiling, or one SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) once the calculation returns three or more machines in a single volume.
Next step: send the floor dimensions and the ceiling height and we will run the calculation with you - book a free coverage plan.
The floor area is fixed at 465 square metres. Everything after that is height. Two machines is the normal answer, three is the warning sign, and one bigger machine is what a warning sign means.
How many scent machines are needed for a 5,000 sq ft car showroom?
Two, at a normal ceiling height. Here is the calculation, and you can run it in under a minute. Step one, convert the floor: multiply the square footage by 0.0929. 5,000 sq ft becomes 465m². Step two, convert the height and multiply: 10 ft is 3.05m, 12 ft is 3.66m, 14 ft is 4.27m, 16 ft is 4.88m and 20 ft is 6.1m. So 465m² gives about 1,417m³ at 10 ft, 1,700m³ at 12 ft, 1,983m³ at 14 ft, 2,267m³ at 16 ft and 2,833m³ at 20 ft. Step three, divide by 1000, which is the rating of one SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999), and round up. That returns two machines for anything up to about 14 ft, which is where the great majority of showrooms sit, at a total of ₹23,998. Then apply the rule that stops the arithmetic running away with you: if a single connected volume returns three or more machines, step up instead of multiplying. At 16 ft the calculation says three Vaayu, which is ₹35,997, three tanks, three schedules and three chances for the intensities to drift apart. One SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) rated to 3,000m³ covers the same air for less money, with one 800ml reservoir and one programmable schedule. Two caveats worth stating plainly. The number you calculate is the number for one connected body of air: if the 5,000 sq ft is split across separately cooled rooms, calculate each one and add them. And fragrance works alongside your ventilation, never instead of it. A free coverage plan will run the arithmetic from your dimensions.
465m² times ceiling height in metres, divided by 1000, rounded up. Two Vaayu up to 14 ft. Three or more in one volume means one Angaan instead.
The unit the calculation is denominated in is the SOSA Vaayu - 1000m³ per machine at ₹11,999, waterless, under 38dB, 400ml tank lasting up to 75 days, Bluetooth app timers and a key-lock. Two of them cover a 5,000 sq ft floor at a normal ceiling.
The calculation is denominated in machines, so here they are with their ratings. Both images link to the live product page if you want to check the specification behind the numbers.
Waterless cold-air nebuliser rated to 1000m³, about 2,000-3,000 sq ft. Two units cover a 5,000 sq ft floor up to a 14 ft ceiling for ₹23,998. 400ml tank up to 75 days, Bluetooth app with 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, under 38dB, key-lock.
Both machines run the same fragrance at the same intensity, placed at opposite ends of the connected volume so the coverage overlaps in the middle rather than leaving a gap there.
HVAC nebulising diffuser rated to 3,000m³, about 8,000-10,000 sq ft, with an 800ml reservoir, metal body, programmable schedules and under 42dB. Cheaper than three Vaayu and easier to control.
1000m³ coverage per unit (about 2,000-3,000 sq ft), 400ml tank lasting up to 75 days, Bluetooth app with 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, adjustable intensity, under 38dB, DC 12V/1A at 5W, freestanding, wall or HVAC mount, auto-stop and key-lock. CE, RoHS and SGS certified. Made in India.
The calculation in three steps, with the numbers filled in
Three steps, one rule. Convert the floor, multiply by the height, divide by 1000 - then check the answer against the rule that tells you when to stop counting.
1
Step one and two
465 square metres, times your ceiling height in metres
Square feet to square metres is a multiplication by 0.0929, so 5,000 sq ft is 465m². Feet to metres is a division by 3.28, so 10 ft is 3.05m, 12 ft is 3.66m, 14 ft is 4.27m, 16 ft is 4.88m and 20 ft is 6.1m. Multiply the two and you have the volume: about 1,417m³, 1,700m³, 1,983m³, 2,267m³ and 2,833m³ respectively. Use the height to the underside of the ceiling, and if the showroom steps up under a frontage, measure both and treat the tall part separately.
Tip: square feet times 0.0929, feet divided by 3.28. Two conversions and you are done.
Each Vaayu is one unit of 1000m³ at ₹11,999, which is what makes the division easy.
One Vaayu is rated to 1000m³, so the division is trivial: 1,417m³ divided by 1000 is 1.42, rounded up to two machines. At 14 ft, 1,983m³ is 1.98, still two, though with almost no margin. Round up rather than down. A machine running at a comfortable level across a slightly generous coverage always reads better than one running flat out at the edge of its rating, and it uses less fragrance doing it.
When the division returns three or more, the Angaan at 3,000m³ replaces them all for ₹25,999.
Three or more in one volume means step up, not multiply
This is the part rules of thumb leave out. Three Vaayu in a single open showroom cost ₹35,997, need three tanks refilled on three dates, three schedules kept in step and three intensity dials that somebody will eventually adjust independently. The result is three strong zones and a weak middle. One Angaan covers 3,000m³ for ₹25,999 with one reservoir and one schedule. The rule only applies within a connected volume - separately cooled rooms are separate calculations and genuinely do need their own machines.
Tip: count per connected volume, and cap that count at two before you step up.
Two Vaayu at opposite ends of a connected volume is the sweet spot: ₹23,998, 2,000m³, overlapping in the middle.
The calculation almost never returns a number people dislike. It is the rounding up that saves the install, and the cap at two that saves the budget.
Two machines is an answer. Four machines is usually a sign that nobody measured the height.
What the maths returns above 14 ft: SOSA Angaan covers 3,000m³ - about 8,000-10,000 sq ft - on your building's HVAC, for less than three small machines and with one reservoir to fill. ₹25,999.
What the arithmetic returns at each ceiling height
Here is the same arithmetic laid out by ceiling height, which is the only variable once the floor area is fixed at 465 square metres.

One more number worth knowing once the count is settled: fragrance consumption scales with intensity and run hours, not with machine count, so two machines at medium each use roughly what one machine at high would, spread more evenly. If you want the zone-mapping version of this decision rather than the arithmetic, read how to scent a 5,000 sq ft automobile dealership, and if your ceiling is the thing making the number move, how ceiling height affects scent machine placement explains why. For the full coverage table across every showroom size, see the SOSA Vaayu large dealership coverage guide.
The unit of the calculation: SOSA Vaayu, 1000m³ per machine, 400ml tank lasting up to 75 days, app timers and key-lock. Two cover 5,000 sq ft at a normal ceiling. ₹11,999.
The count is denominated in two machines. Two Vaayu cover 2,000m³ between them and handle a 5,000 sq ft floor to about 14 ft; one Angaan covers 3,000m³ and takes over above that. Both are waterless, so no mist, no damp and no residue on paintwork or glass, and both are made in India. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
A quick word on the arithmetic: it returns machines per connected volume. If your 5,000 sq ft is two separately cooled rooms of 2,500 sq ft, that is two calculations of about 710m³ each and two machines for a different reason. One honest note - the calculation sizes fragrance coverage only. It works alongside ventilation and cleaning and cannot cover paint, adhesive or workshop fumes. Send your dimensions and we will run it on a free coverage plan.

A note from Sonal
Most dealership quotes I see are for too many machines, not too few. Somebody walks the floor, counts the rooms, and multiplies. But scent does not respect a floor plan - it respects air. Two areas on the same drawing that share one air-conditioning loop are one problem. Two areas that look joined but sit on separate splits are two.
So the count is arithmetic, not opinion. Floor area in square metres, times ceiling height in metres, divided by 1000. That gives you the number of Vaayu units at ₹11,999 each. Once the answer for one connected volume reaches three, the honest recommendation flips: one Angaan at ₹25,999 covers 3,000m³ on the airflow you already run, with one reservoir and one schedule instead of three.
One thing I will not pretend about: fragrance is not ventilation. It works alongside your air handling and your cleaning routine and cannot mask fresh paint, adhesive, damp or fumes drifting in from the workshop. And SOSA makes no claim that scent influences a purchase decision. What it does is make a large hard room feel considered. SOSA is independent and not affiliated with any hotel. Frequently asked questions
How many scent machines are needed for a 5,000 sq ft car showroom?
Two at a normal ceiling height. A 5,000 sq ft floor is 465 square metres, which holds about 1,417 cubic metres of air at 10 ft and 1,983 cubic metres at 14 ft. One SOSA Vaayu (Rs 11,999) is rated to 1000 cubic metres, so two units cover it for Rs 23,998. At 16 ft the volume reaches about 2,267 cubic metres and one SOSA Angaan (Rs 25,999) rated to 3,000 cubic metres becomes the better answer.
How do I calculate the number of diffusers for a showroom?
Multiply the square footage by 0.0929 to get square metres, multiply that by the ceiling height in metres to get cubic metres, then divide by 1000, which is the rating of one SOSA Vaayu, and round up. Do this once per connected body of air. Separately air-conditioned rooms are separate calculations.
Why not just use three or four small machines instead of one big one?
Because inside a single connected volume it costs more and controls worse. Three Vaayu are Rs 35,997 against Rs 25,999 for one Angaan, and they mean three tanks, three schedules and three intensity settings that drift apart over time, producing three strong zones and a weak middle. Across genuinely separate rooms, multiple machines are correct.
Does ceiling height really change the number of machines?
It is the single biggest variable once the floor area is fixed. The same 5,000 sq ft floor holds about 1,417 cubic metres at 10 ft and about 2,833 cubic metres at 20 ft, which is double. Any rule of thumb quoted in square feet alone is assuming a ceiling height it has not told you about.
Will more machines fix a showroom that smells of paint or the workshop?
No. Fragrance works alongside ventilation, extraction and cleaning and is not a substitute for any of them. Paint, adhesive, solvent and exhaust smells need airing and separation, and scent layered over them gives you both at once. SOSA also makes no claim that fragrance influences a purchase decision.
Two machines, one fragrance: SOSA Vaayu at opposite ends of the floor, matched intensity, overlapping coverage in the middle. ₹11,999 each.
