The five types, compared fairly
I trained as a perfumer at ISIPCA in Versailles, and I want to do something most brand pages will not: describe the formats I do not sell as fairly as the two I do. A category is not good or bad in itself - a vent clip with a fine oil beats a spray full of solvent. So here is each type on its own terms, then where I think it shines and where it lets you down in an Indian cabin.

On-demand, fully in your control
A pump spray puts you in charge: one spritz for a little, three for a lot, nothing on the days you want a plain cabin. SOSA's is 10ml, around 100 sprays, strong and non-aerosol. The trade-off is that you have to remember to use it - which, honestly, is also why it never overwhelms a passenger.

Passive evaporation from a gel
A gel can sits in a cupholder and evaporates on its own - cheap, simple, no maintenance. The trade-offs are real: low control, and in a 65-70 degree summer cabin the gel can soften, leak and lose its scent quickly. Gels are also where the cheapest synthetics tend to live. Useful as a stopgap; rarely a cabin you love.
Shines for: cheap, zero-effort, short-term freshening. Weak when: summer heat and you care about the smell.

Fragrance oil
On a wick, stone or reed
A loose fragrance oil on a wick, lava stone or mini reed gives a slow, soft release with a hand-made feel. Quality swings wildly with the oil, and the honest risk is spillage - oil on upholstery or a dashboard can stain. Lovely when the oil is good and well contained; messy when it is not.
Shines for: a slow, crafted, low-tech scent. Weak when: it spills, or the oil quality is poor.
