Honest notes before you buy anything. Coverage ratings assume connected air volume. A machine cannot push scent through a closed bedroom door, and it never will - so a partitioned villa is not one scenting problem but several, and honest sizing means saying so out loud rather than selling you one machine and hoping. Scent the volume that is genuinely open to itself, then give the closed rooms their own quiet answer, usually a reed diffuser. Fragrance never substitutes for ventilation or cleaning. If a room smells damp, stale or of last night's cooking, open it, air it and clean it first; scent added on top of that only makes a more complicated bad smell. A home is not a lobby you pass through. Households include children, elderly parents, pregnant family members and pets, all of whom breathe this air far longer than any visitor does, which is why gentle dosing is the default at home and why the settings we suggest are lower than the machine can run. There is a difference between a room that smells nice and a home that has a signature, and almost nobody is told what it is. A room that smells nice is an event: you light a candle, you spray something in the hallway before people arrive, it is lovely for forty minutes and then it is gone. Somewhere else in the house a bathroom gel is doing one thing, a kitchen spray another, and a bedroom reed a third. Four pleasant smells in four rooms is not a fragranced home. It is four rooms.
A signature is the opposite. It is one scent, sized to the house, running on a schedule - so it is already in the air when someone walks through your front door, and already there at eleven at night when you come home yourself, and nobody has lifted a finger to make it happen. That is the whole trick the great hotels use, and it is not complicated: they do not chase smells room by room, they hold one fragrance across the volume people actually move through. In a villa that usually means the entrance, the living room and the dining as one connected space, with the closed rooms handled separately and quietly.

How long will one machine keep running across a whole wedding week?
We do not publish a figure for that and we are not going to estimate one, because the honest answer depends entirely on your own situation and any number we invented would be wrong for most people. What genuinely drives it is the volume of air you are scenting, how many hours a day your schedule runs, and the intensity you have chosen - a gentle setting across a hall for six hours a day and a high setting across a whole ground floor for fourteen are not comparable, and a wedding week is longer-running than ordinary life. What is published and certain is the hardware and the fragrance pricing: the Vaayu is Rs 11,999 and arrives with four hotel-inspired waterless blends in the box as Bundle A, B or C, and the water-based Hotel Collection for the ultrasonic machines is Rs 299 for 15ml, Rs 999 for 100ml and Rs 1,799 for 300ml, with a pack of all seven at 15ml for Rs 1,799. The house smells stale by day three even with the machine running. What is wrong?
Almost certainly nothing is wrong with the machine, and adding more fragrance is the one response that will make it worse. Staleness by day three is an accumulation problem, and it has four usual causes in a wedding week. Spent flowers still in the building - garlands cleared into a utility bin or onto a service balcony rather than out of the house, decaying quickly in warm weather, and this is the biggest single culprit. Bins that are being emptied at the normal rate while a hundred people eat from your kitchen twice a day. A house that has been closed and air-conditioned for two days without a single proper airing, because air-conditioning recirculates rather than replaces. And soft furnishings that have absorbed two days of catering oil and are quietly releasing it back. Fix those four in the morning - air the ground floor with real cross-flow, get the flowers out of the building, take the bins outside, and reset the shoe area - and the house recovers within an hour or two. Fragrance sits on top of a well-kept house; it never substitutes for ventilation or cleaning, and we make no air-purification claims.
Should I turn the fragrance up for the biggest function of the week?
No, and it is the most tempting mistake in the week. The impulse is understandable: the biggest function feels like it deserves more, and by then you genuinely cannot smell anything yourself. But the second part is the trap - you and everyone living in the house have been in it for days and adapted completely, so your perception is the least reliable in the building. Meanwhile the biggest function is also the fullest and warmest house of the week, and a warm crowded room carries scent further than the cool empty one you set the dial in, which means the same setting is already effectively louder on that day than it was on Monday. Turning it up gives you an overpowering hall on the day the most people are in it, including the relatives least able to move away from it. If you want the biggest function to feel different, do it with flowers, light, music and food, all of which change anyway. Leave the register where it is, and ask the first guest through the door what they notice within thirty seconds.
We have relatives staying in the house all week. Does that change anything?
Yes, and it makes the case for gentleness stronger rather than weaker. Guests at a function are in your air for a few hours; relatives staying in the house are in it for days, sleeping in it, and they did not choose it. That group also reliably includes the people most affected - elderly grandparents, a pregnant cousin, small children, and at least one person prone to migraine. So run the connected areas lower than you would for a party, and give the guest bedrooms their own quiet answer rather than pushing the machine harder to reach them: a reed from Rs 749 in each is the right product, since no machine pushes scent through a closed bedroom door anyway, and a reed can simply be removed from a room if the person sleeping there prefers no fragrance at all. Ask them. It costs nothing and it is the difference between a house that feels looked after and a house somebody is quietly enduring. Anyone reporting a headache is a recalibration signal, not a tolerance problem - turn it down or off in that part of the house immediately.
Can one Vaayu cover a villa that is hosting a full wedding week?
It can cover the connected indoor volume, which is the part that matters, and it cannot cover the rest - and both halves of that sentence are important. Do the sum: floor area times ceiling height gives cubic feet, divided by 35.3 gives cubic metres, so a 2,000 sq ft connected ground floor at a 10 ft ceiling is 20,000 cubic feet or about 566 cubic metres, comfortably inside the Vaayu's approximately 1000 cubic metre rating at Rs 11,999. A 3,500 sq ft connected ground floor is 35,000 cubic feet or about 991 cubic metres, right at the limit, which calls for central placement rather than a higher setting. On a function day most internal doors stand open, which genuinely helps, and in a two-floor villa the stair void carries scent upward on its own, so a unit placed low in the connected ground-floor volume near the stair base does the first landing for you. What it will never do is reach through a closed door, so bedrooms, the washroom and the bag room take a reed from Rs 749 each, and the outdoor function area cannot be scented by anything at any price. If you want every room in a large villa matched, including upstairs, that is the Aangan at Rs 25,999 ducted into central air-conditioning.
