An ultrasonic diffuser is a humidifier that happens to carry fragrance. That is not a criticism; it is a description, and once an owner hears it the choice for a large appliance floor makes itself. One machine puts water into the air and the other does not. On a floor of steel, black glass and screens, that is the whole comparison.
Quick answers — read this first
Ultrasonic diffuser or commercial scent machine for a large appliance store? The commercial waterless machine, and for one reason: water. An ultrasonic diffuser vibrates a tank of water into a fine mist and the fragrance rides on it, so it adds moisture to the room and needs filling and wiping every day. A waterless cold-air nebuliser such as the SOSA Vaayu breaks the fragrance oil itself into a dry micro-mist, adds no moisture, leaves no residue and carries a connected floor of up to 1000m³ on a timer with a key-lock.

Is the ultrasonic ever the right answer in an appliance showroom? Yes, below about 750 sq ft. A single studio room - a designer's selection studio, a consultation lounge, a small kitchen studio with one desk - is exactly what a SOSA Sukoon (Rs 1,899) is for: 500ml, 16-18 hours on low, roughly 270-320 sq ft. The moisture it adds is small, and it should be said honestly in an electronics context; if a daily water routine is acceptable and the room is one room, it is a fair purchase.

What is the honest recommendation? Under about 750 sq ft, a Sukoon (Rs 1,899) in one room, or a Mountain Breeze reed (Rs 849) at the desk if you would rather add nothing at all. From about 1,500 sq ft of connected floor, one SOSA Vaayu (Rs 11,999): waterless, timer, key-lock, 90+ days a fill. Past about 3,000 sq ft, one SOSA Angaan (Rs 25,999). Fragrance is an interiors decision like lighting or music; SOSA makes no claim that it changes dwell time, footfall, conversion or sales, and no claim about what fragrance or moisture does to any appliance or finish.
The short answer
Short answer: the waterless machine for any large appliance floor, because the ultrasonic adds water to the air and needs a daily water routine and the nebuliser adds nothing but fragrance. Below about 750 sq ft, in one room, the ultrasonic is a fair and cheaper purchase.
The pick: from about 1,500 sq ft of connected floor, one SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999), waterless; for one studio room under about 750 sq ft, a SOSA Sukoon (₹1,899) if a daily water routine suits you, or a Mountain Breeze reed (₹849) if it does not; past about 3,000 sq ft, one SOSA Angaan (₹25,999).
Next step: tell us the floor area, whether it is one room or a connected floor, and what is on display, and we will say which machine honestly - ask for a showroom scenting plan.

Straight answer
Ultrasonic diffuser or commercial scent machine for a large appliance store?
The commercial machine, and the reason is not that it is bigger or more expensive. The reason is that an ultrasonic diffuser and a cold-air nebuliser do physically different things, and only one of them belongs on a large floor of steel, glass and screens. Start with the ultrasonic, because most owners have one at home and assume the showroom version is simply larger. An ultrasonic has a tank of water with a few drops of fragrance in it; a small plate under the water vibrates at high frequency and throws off a visible plume of fine mist. The fragrance rides on the water. That means three things follow, all of them honest. It adds moisture to the room. Not much in a single studio, but it is water going into the air and it should be said plainly in an electronics context. It needs a water routine: the tank is filled every morning, emptied and wiped so nothing grows in it, and the plate is cleaned; someone on the floor owns that job. And its reach is one room, because the mist is heavy and falls within a few metres. The SOSA Sukoon is exactly this: a 500ml ultrasonic, 16-18 hours on low, rated for roughly 270-320 sq ft, at ₹1,899. In one studio room under about 750 sq ft - a selection studio, a consultation lounge, a small kitchen studio with one desk - it is a fair and cheaper purchase, provided the daily routine is acceptable and you are content to add a little water to that room's air. Now the nebuliser. A SOSA Vaayu uses no water and no heat. It pushes air through the fragrance oil itself and breaks it into a dry micro-mist so fine it stays suspended and rides the AC supply across a connected floor - the product page rates it to 1000m³, roughly 2,000-3,000 sq ft. It adds no moisture and leaves no residue. That is the entire product fact, and it is the one fact about merchandise SOSA will state: SOSA makes no claim about what fragrance or humidity does to any appliance, screen, panel or finish, in either direction; whether room moisture matters to what you sell is a question for the brands you carry. What the owner of a large floor usually says at this point is that they would simply rather not, and that is a good enough reason. The Vaayu then adds the things a floor needs that a room does not: a 400ml tank running 90+ days a fill instead of a tank filled daily; 1h/4h/8h/24h timers and an app so it stops before the live-kitchen demo and restarts after; adjustable intensity under a key-lock so a floor with many hands cannot drift it upward; under 38dB; a wall or HVAC mount so the source sits where the supply will carry it, at ₹11,999. Past about 3,000 sq ft of one connected floor, one SOSA Angaan at ₹25,999 rather than a second Vaayu in the same air. So the comparison is not close on a floor, and it is not a comparison at all in a single room, where the ultrasonic is fine and the nebuliser is more source than the air can use. If you want to add nothing to the air of even a small room, a Mountain Breeze reed at ₹849 at the desk adds neither water nor a plug. Two things hold whichever you choose. Fragrance is an interiors decision, like lighting or music: SOSA makes no claim that either machine changes footfall, dwell time, conversion or sales. And neither is ever a substitute for ventilation, cleaning or extraction; the live kitchen and the coffee counter stay unscented while the demonstration runs. Whether a machine is worth buying at all is the page before this one; ask for a showroom scenting plan and we will place the right one honestly.
An ultrasonic (SOSA Sukoon, Rs 1,899) mists water and needs filling and wiping daily - fine for one studio room under about 750 sq ft. A waterless nebuliser (SOSA Vaayu, Rs 11,999) adds no moisture, leaves no residue and carries a connected floor on a timer with a key-lock. On a large floor of steel, glass and screens the dry machine wins on that alone.
For a connected floor of steel, glass and screens, one SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999 adds no water at all - 1000m³, timer, key-lock, 90+ days a fill. For one small room, the Sukoon is the fair buy.

Made in India.

The five differences that matter on an appliance floor

Five lines separate the two machines. Water is the first and the one that decides a large floor; the other four are why the nebuliser is also the better floor machine even where water is not an objection.

1
Water
The ultrasonic adds moisture; the nebuliser adds nothing but fragrance
Say it the way a product page would. An ultrasonic diffuser is a tank of water and a vibrating plate; the mist you can see is water, and the fragrance is a few drops dissolved in it. Over a day a Sukoon puts a good part of its 500ml into the air of the room it stands in. In a home that is welcome. In a single small studio it is small enough to be honest about and move on. On a large floor of steel, black glass and screens, most owners would rather add nothing, and a waterless nebuliser is how you add nothing: the Vaayu breaks the oil itself into a dry micro-mist, no water, no heat, no residue. That is a fact about the machine and nothing more. SOSA makes no claim about what fragrance or humidity does to any appliance, screen, panel or finish, and whether room moisture matters to what you sell is for the brands you carry to say. "I would rather not" is reason enough.
Test: if you can see the plume, it is water. A nebuliser's output is invisible and dry.
2
The routine
One is filled and wiped every day; the other is filled roughly once a quarter
The daily water routine is the part owners underestimate. An ultrasonic tank is filled each morning, and because it is standing water it is also emptied, wiped and left dry each evening so nothing grows in it, and the plate is cleaned before it scales. That is ten minutes a day that somebody on the floor owns, and on a floor with eight advisors and a rota, it is the job nobody owns. A Vaayu has a 400ml tank of fragrance oil, no water, and runs 90+ days a fill; the four 100ml bottles in the box are that supply, and refill availability is confirmed with SOSA before you plan beyond it. So the question is not only what goes into the air; it is whether your floor can run a daily water routine for years. A designer's studio with one owner in it can. A three-thousand-square-foot experience centre with a rota cannot, and should not try.
Rule: if nobody on the floor can name whose job the tank is, the ultrasonic is the wrong machine for that floor.
3
Reach
An ultrasonic mist falls within a room; a dry micro-mist rides the AC across a floor
Water droplets are heavy. The plume from an ultrasonic rises, drifts and settles within a few metres, which is why the Sukoon is rated for roughly 270-320 sq ft and why it is honest only in one room. A nebuliser's dry micro-mist is so fine it stays suspended, and the AC supply carries it wherever the supply goes; that is how one Vaayu is rated to 1000m³ and covers a connected floor from about 1,500 sq ft. This is the same desk-zone-versus-floor line that separates a reed from a machine in reed diffuser vs waterless machine, and the same rule applies: several ultrasonics dotted across a floor are several damp rooms with gaps between them, not a scented floor. Past about 3,000 sq ft, one Angaan on the plant, never a scatter of small machines.
SOSA Vaayu
The Vaayu carries a connected floor of up to 1000m³ on the AC supply, with nothing but fragrance in the air.
See SOSA Vaayu →
4
Control
A lock and a timer exist on the floor machine because the floor needs them
Here the comparison stops being about water and starts being about a shop floor. An ultrasonic has a switch and, at best, a simple on-off timer; it cannot be locked, and it cannot be told to stop before the eleven o'clock hob demonstration and restart at noon without someone remembering. On a floor with a live kitchen or a coffee-tasting counter, that matters every day: the demonstration owns the air while it runs, the demo zone stays unscented, extraction clears the room afterwards, and the fragrance returns only when the room smells of nothing. A Vaayu on the reception side runs 1h/4h/8h/24h timers and an app for exactly that, and its key-lock holds the level the advisor who stands there nine hours a day agreed to. On a shop floor, levels drift only upward. Whether to switch off during an oven or hob demonstration is the working rule.
Rule: the demo kitchen and the coffee counter stay unscented whichever machine you own. Only one of the two can obey that on its own.
5
Where each belongs
One room for the Sukoon; a connected floor for the Vaayu; a reed if you want nothing at all
The honest map, then. A single enclosed room under about 750 sq ft with a door - a designer's selection studio, a consultation lounge, a small kitchen studio with one desk - can take a Sukoon at ₹1,899, with the moisture said plainly and the daily routine owned by whoever sits in that room. If you would rather add nothing to even that room's air, a Mountain Breeze reed at ₹849 adds no water and needs no socket, and reaches one desk zone, which in a room that size is the room. From about 1,500 sq ft of connected floor, one Vaayu, and there is no honest ultrasonic answer at that size at all. In between, the machine is bought for the lock, the timer and dryness, not for coverage - the best scent machine for a 1,000 sq ft showroom walks that band.
SOSA Sukoon
The Sukoon is honest for one studio room - 500ml, 16-18 hours on low, water filled daily, roughly 270-320 sq ft.
See SOSA Sukoon →
The SOSA principle
An ultrasonic diffuser is a humidifier carrying fragrance and a nebuliser is fragrance carrying nothing - on a large floor of steel, glass and screens, the machine that adds nothing is the only honest one.
Sukoon for one small room, water routine owned. Vaayu for the floor, dry, locked, timed. A reed if you want to add nothing at all.

The same comparison as a table. Read the first row and, on a large floor, you can stop; the remaining rows are why the answer does not change even for an owner who has no view on water.

A note from Sonal

I sell both of these machines and I describe the Sukoon the same way every time: it is a humidifier with fragrance in it. People sometimes flinch at that, but it is simply what an ultrasonic is, and it is why it is such a good thing in a bedroom and such an honest thing in a small studio with a door. What I will not do is put one on a large appliance floor and pretend the water is not there. It is there, it is visible, and somebody has to fill and wipe the tank every day for as long as you own it.

The Vaayu exists because a floor of steel and black glass needs the fragrance without the water. It breaks the oil itself into a dry mist, adds nothing, leaves nothing, and then does the floor things - a timer that stops it before the hob demo, a lock that holds the level my customers' advisors agreed to, a tank that runs a quarter. I say one thing about the merchandise and only one: the machine adds no moisture and leaves no residue. I make no claim about what fragrance or humidity does to any appliance or finish on your floor; that is the brand's question, not mine.

And the footing is the same as every page in this cluster. Fragrance is an interiors decision like lighting or music: no claim that either machine changes footfall, dwell time or sales, never a substitute for ventilation, cleaning or extraction, and the live kitchen and coffee counter stay unscented while the demonstration runs. For one small room, buy the Sukoon and own the tank, or a reed and own nothing. For a floor, buy the dry machine. Frequently asked questions

Does an ultrasonic diffuser put water into the air of an appliance showroom?
Yes - that is how it works. A tank of water with a few drops of fragrance in it sits over a vibrating plate that throws off a visible mist; the fragrance rides on the water, so moisture is added to the room. The SOSA Sukoon is a 500ml ultrasonic for one room of roughly 270-320 sq ft, and in an electronics context that moisture should be stated plainly. A waterless nebuliser such as the SOSA Vaayu adds no water at all.
What daily routine does an ultrasonic diffuser need on a showroom floor?
The tank is filled each morning, and because it is standing water it is emptied, wiped and left dry each evening so nothing grows in it; the vibrating plate is cleaned before it scales. Somebody on the floor has to own that job every day. A SOSA Vaayu has a 400ml tank of fragrance oil, no water, and runs 90+ days a fill; the four 100ml bottles in the box are the supply, and refill availability is confirmed with SOSA.
Is a SOSA Sukoon acceptable in a small kitchen-appliance studio?
Yes, in one enclosed room under about 750 sq ft - a selection studio, a consultation lounge, a small studio with one desk - provided the daily water routine is owned and the small amount of moisture it adds is acceptable to you. At Rs 1,899, 16-18 hours on low, it is a fair purchase for that room. If you would rather add nothing to the air at all, a Mountain Breeze reed at Rs 849 at the desk adds no water and needs no socket.
Why does a waterless nebuliser reach further than an ultrasonic diffuser?
Because water droplets are heavy and oil micro-mist is not. An ultrasonic plume rises, drifts and settles within a few metres, which is why it is rated for one room. A cold-air nebuliser pushes air through the fragrance oil and breaks it into a dry mist so fine it stays suspended and rides the AC supply across a connected floor - the SOSA Vaayu is rated to 1000m³, roughly 2,000-3,000 sq ft, on one unit. Several ultrasonics across a floor give several damp rooms, not a scented floor.
Does SOSA say whether moisture from an ultrasonic diffuser matters to the appliances on display?
No. SOSA states one product fact only: a waterless machine such as the Vaayu adds no moisture and leaves no residue on steel, glass or screens. SOSA makes no claim about what fragrance or humidity does to any appliance, screen, panel or finish, in either direction; whether room moisture matters to what you sell is a question for the brands you carry. Most owners of large floors would simply rather not add water, and that is reason enough to choose the dry machine.
