A thousand square feet is the size at which I stop saying no to the machine and start asking why you want it. The Vaayu will cover this floor without effort - that was never the question. The question is whether you are buying control, and whether you need it.
Quick answers — read this first
What is the best scent machine for a 1,000 sq ft premium appliance showroom? It depends on what you are buying it for. A 1,000 sq ft floor at a normal ceiling holds about 280 cubic metres of air, which one SOSA Vaayu (Rs 11,999, rated to 1000m³) covers at a fraction of its range - so coverage is not a reason to buy it here. Buy it for control: a 1h/4h/8h/24h timer that switches off for demos, a key-lock, no water in the air, one wall-mounted source reaching the whole floor. If none of those matter to you, one SOSA Sukoon (Rs 1,899) at the desk plus a Mountain Breeze reed (Rs 849) at the far end is the honest alternative.
Why not just use two or three reed diffusers across the floor? Because reeds reach one desk zone each by design, and a 1,000 sq ft floor is three or four zones. Two reeds give you two scented desks and an unscented corridor between them - a reed is a volume control, never a range control. That is fine if the floor is two rooms with a desk in each. If it is one open floor and you want the scent to read as one even trace from the door to the specification table, distribution from one source is what the machine sells, and no number of bottles does it.
Which way do most 1,000 sq ft showrooms go? The ones with a live hob, a coffee machine used for clients, or several staff on the floor go for the Vaayu, because switching off for a demo on a timer and locking the level are daily needs. The ones that are a quiet studio with one advisor and no demonstration go for the Sukoon and a reed and are right to. Fragrance is an interiors decision like lighting or music - SOSA makes no claim that it changes dwell time, footfall or sales either way.
The short answer
Short answer: at 1,000 sq ft the SOSA Vaayu covers the floor easily, so you buy it only if you need what else it does: a timer that switches off for demos, a key-lock, dry air, one source for the whole floor. If you need none of those, a Sukoon at the desk and a reed at the far end is honest and costs a fraction.
The pick: one SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) if a hob or coffee machine gets used for clients, if several people share the floor, or if you want no water in the air - bought for control, never for coverage. Otherwise one SOSA Sukoon (₹1,899) at the desk and one Mountain Breeze reed (₹849) at the far end, and nothing more.
Next step: tell us whether the floor has a demo zone and how many people work on it, and we will say which side of the line you are on - ask for a showroom scenting plan.
Best scent machine for a 1,000 sq ft premium appliance showroom
Let me put the arithmetic first, because it takes coverage off the table and leaves the real question standing. A thousand square feet is about 93 square metres; at a three-metre ceiling that is roughly 280 cubic metres of air. The SOSA Vaayu is rated to 1000m³, so it covers this floor at about a quarter of its range with the intensity turned well down. It will work. Nobody selling you a machine at this size should be talking about coverage, and if they are, they are selling. What the Vaayu sells at 1,000 sq ft is four other things, and you should buy it for those or not at all. One: the timer. A 1h/4h/8h/24h schedule that runs trading hours and switches off in one press when the hob is lit or the coffee machine is run for a client - because the demonstration owns the air while it runs and the live-kitchen rule applies at every size. Two: the key-lock. On a floor with three or four advisors and a manager who likes it stronger, levels drift upward and never downward; a lock means the setting you found together stays found. Three: no water. The Vaayu is a waterless cold-air nebuliser - it adds no moisture to the air and leaves no residue on steel, glass or screens. That is the only product fact I will state about the merchandise, and I make no claim about what any humidity does or does not do to an appliance on display. Four: distribution. One wall-mounted source, placed high where the AC supply crosses the floor, reaches the door, the displays and the specification table as one even trace; a reed reaches the desk it sits on. If two or more of those four matter to you, buy the Vaayu at ₹11,999 and run it low. If none of them do - a quiet studio, one advisor, no demonstration, a floor you can walk in ten seconds - then the honest plan is one SOSA Sukoon at ₹1,899 on the desk, which covers about 270-320 sq ft from one point on sixteen to eighteen hours a fill, and one Mountain Breeze reed at ₹849 at the far end so the specification table is not an unscented island; Morning Freshness instead if the floor is white and glass. Two things about that plan in plain words: the Sukoon is ultrasonic and water-based, so it adds a fine mist to an electronics room, and the two sources will not read as one even trace - they will read as two scented zones with a quieter corridor between them, which is acceptable in a small showroom and would not be in a large one. Whichever way you go, the register is the same - dry cedar, sage, tea, or lemon-mint for white - and the level is set for the advisor who stands there nine hours a day, not the visitor. Fragrance is an interiors decision, like lighting or music: SOSA makes no claim that it changes footfall, dwell time, conversion or sales on either plan, no claim about what it does to any appliance or finish, and it is never a substitute for ventilation, cleaning or extraction; the hob and the coffee counter stay unscented while they run. Below this size the answer is simpler - what a 500 sq ft studio needs - and above it the machine stops being optional, as the 1,500 sq ft page explains. The method behind all of it is in how to calculate scent-machine requirements. Ask for a showroom scenting plan and tell me about the demo zone and the staff, and I will tell you which side of the line you are on.
1,000 sq ft is about 280m³: the Vaayu (Rs 11,999) covers it easily, so buy it only for the timer, the key-lock, dry air and one-source distribution. Otherwise a Sukoon (Rs 1,899) at the desk and a Mountain Breeze reed (Rs 849) at the far end is honest. Demo zones unscented either way.
If the floor has a hob or coffee machine used for clients, or more than one person setting the level, one SOSA Vaayu - timer, key-lock, waterless, 1000m³ - at ₹11,999 is bought for control. Run it low.
Waterless cold-air nebuliser rated to 1000m³, so at 1,000 sq ft it runs at a fraction of its range on a low setting. 1h/4h/8h/24h timer so it runs trading hours and switches off for a demo in one press; key-lock so the level nobody can name stays that way; no water, so no added humidity and no residue on displays; under 38dB; wall or HVAC mount so one source reaches the whole floor. Rs 11,999.
500ml ultrasonic on the desk, 16-18 hours on low, about 270-320 sq ft from one point; water-based, so it adds a fine mist - a fact to weigh in an electronics room. Pair it with a Mountain Breeze reed at Rs 849 at the far end so the specification table is not an unscented island. Two zones with a quieter corridor between them - acceptable at this size, not at a larger one. Rs 1,899.
1000m³ rating - far more than a 1,000 sq ft floor holds - run low. 400ml tank, 90+ days a fill; Bluetooth app and 1h/4h/8h/24h timers; adjustable intensity; key-lock; auto-stop; under 38dB; 5W. Wall or HVAC mount so the one source sits where the AC supply crosses the floor. CE, RoHS, SGS. Made in India, Rs 11,999.
The four things you are actually buying at this size
At 1,000 sq ft a machine earns its price on these four and nothing else. Score your own floor against them honestly; two or more and the Vaayu is right, none and it is not.
1
The timer
A one-press off-switch for the hob and the coffee machine
If your floor has a live hob, an oven that gets run for clients or a coffee machine at the counter, you already have the strongest reason a 1,000 sq ft showroom can have for a machine, and it has nothing to do with the size. The smell of what is being cooked or brewed is the demonstration, ambient fragrance must never compete with it, and the way you keep it out is to switch the source off before the demo starts and let extraction clear the room after. A reed cannot be switched off; it can be capped and carried to another wall, which someone has to remember to do. The Vaayu's 1h/4h/8h/24h timer and one-press stop turn that into a routine rather than a memory. Should I switch off my scent machine during an oven or hob demonstration? walks through the schedule; at this size it is the deciding page.
Rule: the demo zone stays unscented on both plans. On the no-machine plan, cap the reed and unplug the Sukoon before the hob is lit.
2
The lock
Levels on a shop floor only ever drift upward
A 1,000 sq ft showroom usually has three or four people on it, and one of them will think the fragrance is too faint. It is not; it is set for the advisor who stands there nine hours a day, at a level nobody at the specification table can name - and hard surfaces, steel and glass and lacquer, make that level a step below any other kind of retail. Without a lock, someone turns it up on a quiet Tuesday and nobody turns it down. The Vaayu's key-lock exists for exactly this floor: the setting you found together on a Saturday at five in the afternoon stays found. A reed has a version of the same discipline - six reeds, not nine, and no second bottle - but it depends on people rather than on a key. If you are the only person who ever touches the source, you do not need the lock. If you are not, you do.
The Vaayu holds its level under a key-lock, runs on a timer and stops in one press for a demo.
The Sukoon is an ultrasonic diffuser: it vibrates water into a cool mist and the mist carries the fragrance. It is a good product for one desk zone, at ₹1,899 it is a fraction of the machine, and in a lounge nobody thinks twice about it. On a floor of built-in ovens, induction hobs and a screen on the wall, you should know that the mist is water. The Vaayu is waterless: it adds no moisture to the air and leaves no residue on steel, glass or screens. That is a fact about the machine, and it is the only fact about the merchandise I will state - SOSA makes no claim about what humidity does or does not do to any appliance on display; that is for the brand you carry. If dry air matters to you, and on an electronics floor it may, this factor alone can decide the question.
4
Distribution
One source that reaches the whole floor, or two that reach two desks
A reed reaches one desk zone. That is not a fault; it is the design - reeds are a volume control, not a range control, and adding bottles adds strength at the same spots, not reach. A 1,000 sq ft floor is three or four such zones, so the no-machine plan gives you two scented points with a quieter corridor between them. In a studio you walk across in ten seconds that is acceptable. If the floor is a run of display kitchens with a specification table at the far end and you want the visitor to meet one even trace from the door to the table, one source high on the wall, where the AC supply crosses the floor and away from the return, is the only thing that does it. Placement matters more than the machine: where to place a scent machine with central AC covers the wall to choose. On this floor, the Vaayu is that source; two Sukoons would be two desks.
Test: walk from the door to the specification table. If you want the same faint trace at both ends, that is distribution, and only one source high on the right wall does it.
The SOSA principle
A machine at 1,000 sq ft is never bought for coverage. It is bought for the four things a bottle cannot do - switch off, hold a level, stay dry, reach the far wall.
Count how many of the four you need. Two or more and the Vaayu is honest; none and a Sukoon and a reed are. The square footage does not decide.
The no-machine plan starts here: SOSA Sukoon, ₹1,899, 500ml ultrasonic on the desk, 16-18 hours a fill, about 270-320 sq ft - water-based, said plainly.
Here is a typical 1,000 sq ft showroom - door, two or three display kitchens, a desk, a specification table, perhaps a hob or coffee counter - with both plans laid over it.

Machine plan: nothing placed here; the trace arrives. No-machine plan: the Sukoon on low, on the wall the door faces, never by the door. View →

Machine plan: the same trace, carried by the supply. No-machine plan: one Mountain Breeze reed on a sideboard, not on the table where samples are compared. View →
Display kitchens
A trace of the floor scent carried by the AC on either plan. Nothing placed inside a display kitchen - an enclosed set over-scents in minutes.
A hob, oven or coffee machine used for clients
Nothing while it runs, on either plan. Machine off on the timer or unplugged and capped before the demo; extraction during and after; the scent returns when the room smells of nothing.
Control, or a bottle and a Sukoon - decided by the floor plan, not the square footage
Tell us whether a hob or coffee machine gets used for clients and how many people work the floor, and we will say plainly which plan is honest for you.
At a thousand square feet nobody should be selling you coverage. They should be asking who switches it off when the hob is lit, and who turns it up when you are not looking.

Where 1,000 sq ft sits on the ladder
One step below the machine becomes necessary, two above where it is wrong
Between 750 and 1,500 sq ft the Vaayu is bought for control, no water and distribution - never for coverage, and this page is the middle of that band. The four 100ml bottles in the Vaayu box are the supply; confirm refill availability with SOSA before you plan on it. Fragrance here is an interiors decision like lighting or music, with no claim about footfall, dwell time, conversion or sales, and no claim about what it does to any appliance or finish. It works alongside ventilation, cleaning and extraction, never instead of them. Any hob, oven or coffee machine used for clients stays unscented while it runs, on either plan.Ask for a showroom scenting plan and we will say which side of the line your floor is on.

A note from Sonal
A thousand square feet is the one size where I give two answers and mean both. The Vaayu will cover the floor - it is rated to a thousand cubic metres and the floor holds fewer than three hundred - so anyone talking to you about coverage at this size is not listening. What I ask instead is whether there is a hob or a coffee machine that gets run for clients, how many people work the floor, and whether you mind a fine water mist in a room full of electronics. Those three questions decide it, and the square footage does not.
If the answer to the first is yes, I stop hedging. The demonstration owns the air while it runs, and the way you honour that is a source that switches off before the hob is lit and comes back only when the room smells of nothing. A reed cannot do that on its own; the Vaayu does it on a timer and the key-lock keeps the level where your advisors agreed it. If the answer to all three is no - a quiet studio, one person, nothing lit - then a Sukoon on the desk and a reed at the far end is the honest plan and I will not talk you past it.
Either way the register is the same, dry and quiet and set for the person who stands there all day, and either way I make no claim that fragrance moves footfall, dwell time or sales, and no claim about what it does to anything on display - including what the Sukoon's mist does or does not do, which is a question for the brand you carry. It is an interiors decision, like lighting or music, and never a substitute for extraction after a demo. Made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
Frequently asked questions
Is the SOSA Vaayu overkill for a 1,000 sq ft appliance showroom?
For coverage, yes: the floor holds about 280 cubic metres and the Vaayu is rated to 1000m³, so it runs at a fraction of its range. For control, no. If a hob or coffee machine gets used for clients, if several staff share the floor, or if you want no water in the air, the timer, the key-lock and the waterless nebuliser are daily needs and the Vaayu at Rs 11,999 is the honest buy. If none of those apply, it is not.
What is the no-machine plan for a 1,000 sq ft appliance showroom?
One SOSA Sukoon at Rs 1,899 on the desk, on low, on the wall the door faces, plus one Mountain Breeze reed at Rs 849 on a sideboard at the far end so the specification table is not an unscented island. You get two scented zones with a quieter corridor between them, which is acceptable at this size. Know that the Sukoon is ultrasonic and water-based, and cap the reed and unplug the Sukoon before any demo.
Can I put two SOSA Sukoons on a 1,000 sq ft floor instead of a Vaayu?
You can, and you will get two scented desks rather than one even floor. Each Sukoon covers about 270-320 sq ft from one point, so two leave a quieter corridor between them and put two water-based mists into an electronics room. If two zones is what your floor is - two rooms, two desks - that is fine. If you want one trace from the door to the specification table, only one source placed high where the AC supply crosses the floor does that.
At 1,000 sq ft, does the demo rule still apply on the cheaper plan?
Yes, at every size and on every plan. The smell of what is being cooked or brewed on a hob, in an oven or at a coffee machine is the demonstration, and ambient fragrance must never compete with it. On the machine plan the Vaayu switches off on the timer before the demo; on the no-machine plan someone caps the reed and unplugs the Sukoon. Extraction clears the room afterwards and the scent returns only once it smells of nothing.
How low should a Vaayu run on a 1,000 sq ft appliance floor?
Start at the lowest intensity on a four-hour block and judge from the specification table at five in the afternoon after a full day, not from the door at opening. The level is set for the advisor who breathes it nine hours a day and should be un-nameable to anyone at the table; steel, glass and lacquer bounce fragrance around with almost nothing to absorb it. Once your team agrees on the setting, lock it. If they say it is too much, it is too much.
If control decides it: SOSA Vaayu, ₹11,999, waterless, timer and key-lock - run low on a 1,000 sq ft floor.

Facts verified 7 September 2026 against the live SOSA product pages: the SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) is a waterless cold-air nebuliser rated to 1000m³, described by the manufacturer as approximately 2,000-3,000 sq ft, with a 400ml refillable tank lasting 90+ days a fill depending on intensity and run hours, Bluetooth app and onboard button control, 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, adjustable intensity, operation under 38dB, DC 12V/1A at 5W (roughly 1.5 units of electricity a month on a ten-hour daily schedule), freestanding or wall and HVAC mounting, auto-stop and key-lock, and CE, RoHS and SGS certification - electrical and compliance marks. Being waterless, it adds no moisture and leaves no residue on surfaces or displays; the four 100ml bottles in the box are the supply, and refill availability should be confirmed with SOSA. The SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) is an HVAC nebulising diffuser rated to 3,000m³, roughly 8,000-10,000 sq ft, with an 800ml reservoir, metal body, programmable schedules and operation under 42dB; the SOSA Meenar (₹38,500) is the HVAC machine for 12,000-18,000 sq ft. The SOSA Sukoon (₹1,899) is a 500ml water-based ultrasonic diffuser for a single room of roughly 270-320 sq ft. SOSA reed diffusers - Mountain Breeze (₹849 / ₹1,349) and Morning Freshness (₹749 / ₹1,249), or the two together as the Fresh & Grounded duo (₹1,548 / ₹2,548) - are alcohol-free and phthalate-free, with a 50ml bottle lasting 6-8 weeks and a 130ml bottle 14-18 weeks. Ambient fragrance in a showroom is an interior and hospitality decision: SOSA makes no claim that it changes dwell time, footfall, conversion, basket size, sales or any other business number, no claim about what it does to any appliance, surface or finish on display, and it is never a substitute for ventilation, cleaning or extraction.
