Five products, ₹6,595 — and only four of them are diffusers. One of your five rooms should get nothing at all, and the fifth thing you buy is a refill rather than a fifth bottle. That sounds like a dodge and it is the opposite: the refill is the best-value item on the entire list, at roughly ₹71 a room-week against ₹75 for the bottles, and without it the other four purchases are a four-month home rather than a scented one. Here is the list, the room that stays empty, and the arithmetic.
Quick answers — read this first
The four bottles: 130ml Mountain Breeze ₹1,349 in the living-dining on six reeds · 130ml Evening Calm ₹1,299 in the master bedroom on four · 50ml Garden Bloom ₹799 in the second bedroom on three · 50ml Morning Freshness ₹749 in the common bathroom on two = ₹4,196.

The fifth product: a 300ml refill at ₹2,399, which fills a 130ml roughly twice.

The total: ₹4,196 + ₹2,399 = ₹6,595.

The room that gets nothing: the attached master bathroom.
The short answer
The home this list is for: A 1,000 sq ft 2BHK in Salt Lake, Kolkata. A 20 sq ft foyer opening into a 275 sq ft living-dining; an 85 sq ft kitchen with a door; a 165 sq ft master bedroom with a 45 sq ft attached bathroom; a 135 sq ft second bedroom; a 40 sq ft common bathroom; a 45 sq ft balcony. 295 + 85 + 165 + 45 + 135 + 40 + 45 = 810, plus about 190 sq ft of walls and passage = 1,000.
The five products: One 130ml Mountain Breeze at ₹1,349, one 130ml Evening Calm at ₹1,299, one 50ml Garden Bloom at ₹799, one 50ml Morning Freshness at ₹749, and one 300ml refill at ₹2,399. ₹1,349 + ₹1,299 + ₹799 + ₹749 = ₹4,196, plus ₹2,399 = ₹6,595.
Which of the five rooms gets nothing: The attached master bathroom. It is 45 sq ft behind a door that in most homes stands open all day onto a bedroom with a 130ml in it, so it is already being served for free. Check yours before you accept that — if the door genuinely stays shut, a 50ml at ₹749 is fair and the list becomes ₹7,344.
Why the fifth product is a refill: Because on their recommended reed counts the four bottles run about 15, 19, 12 and 10 weeks — 56 room-weeks for ₹4,196, roughly ₹75 each. A 300ml refill fills a 130ml roughly twice, which is another 34 room-weeks for ₹2,399 — roughly ₹71 each. It is the cheapest thing on the list per week of scented room.
Straight answer
I have two bathrooms, two bedrooms and one living room — which five products do I need?
1. Four diffusers and one refill — not five diffusers. The question assumes five rooms means five bottles, and that assumption breaks in two places at once. One of your five rooms should get nothing, and the thing that actually determines whether a five-space home reads as scented is not the fourth bottle but what happens in month four. So: two 130ml, two 50ml, and a 300ml refill — ₹6,595.

2. The living-dining takes a 130ml at ₹1,349 on six reeds. With the foyer opening straight into it and no door between, this is about 295 sq ft of continuous air — roughly twice what one passive bottle is rated to hold in still conditions. One bottle placed near the foyer end will not charge all of it evenly and we are not going to say it does; what it does is own the first breath at the threshold and the seating half of the room. Mountain Breeze (Himalayan pine, sage, cedar) reads dry rather than sweet, which is what a room you also eat in wants.

3. The two bedrooms take different sizes for a reason that is not size. The master at 165 sq ft takes the 130ml at ₹1,299 on four reeds — most hours of any single room in the home, and four reeds carries that bottle past eighteen weeks. The second bedroom at 135 sq ft takes the 50ml at ₹799 on three reeds, which is not because it is much smaller — it is barely smaller — but because it is occupied fewer hours. If that room becomes a home office with somebody in it all day, promote it to a 130ml. Hours, not square feet, decides between the two sizes in the middle of the range.

4. Only one of your two bathrooms gets a bottle. The common bathroom at 40 sq ft takes a 50ml at ₹749 on two reeds — the cheapest complete air space in the home, entered by every visitor alone, with a door shut behind them and a nose that has not adapted. The attached master bathroom gets nothing, because its door stands open onto a bedroom with a 130ml three metres away for most of the day. That is a fact about your home rather than a rule, so check it: if that door genuinely stays closed, buy the ₹749 bottle and the list becomes ₹7,344. In most homes it does not.

5. The fifth product is a 300ml refill at ₹2,399, and it is the best-value item on the list. Run at the reed counts above, the four bottles give roughly 15, 19, 12 and 10 weeks — 56 room-weeks for ₹4,196, about ₹75 each. The refill fills a 130ml roughly twice, which is another 34 room-weeks for ₹2,399 — about ₹71 each. Without it, this is a home that stops in stages between weeks ten and nineteen and then needs ₹2,600 of new bottles. With it, the two main rooms run to about ten months.

TL;DR: five products, ₹6,595, and only four of them are diffusers. A 130ml Mountain Breeze at ₹1,349 in the living-dining on six reeds, a 130ml Evening Calm at ₹1,299 in the master bedroom on four, a 50ml Garden Bloom at ₹799 in the second bedroom on three, a 50ml Morning Freshness at ₹749 in the common bathroom on two — ₹4,196 — plus a 300ml refill at ₹2,399. The attached master bathroom gets nothing because its door stands open onto a bedroom already served, and the kitchen, balcony and passage are never bought.
SOSA reed diffusers, five scents
Four of the five products
Two 130ml and two 50ml ₹4,196 together
Four SOSA reed diffusers cover the four spaces worth buying for: Mountain Breeze 130ml at ₹1,349, Evening Calm 130ml at ₹1,299, Garden Bloom 50ml at ₹799 and Morning Freshness 50ml at ₹749. Refillable glass, six fibre reeds included with each. Composed and made in India, in Pune.

Five rooms, four bottles — and why the fifth product is not a room

Count the home properly first. This 1,000 sq ft flat has a 20 sq ft foyer opening without a door into a 275 sq ft living-dining, an 85 sq ft kitchen behind a door, a 165 sq ft master bedroom with a 45 sq ft bathroom attached, a 135 sq ft second bedroom, a 40 sq ft common bathroom and a 45 sq ft balcony — 810 sq ft of named spaces plus about 190 of walls and passage. Six doors close, so there are seven air spaces, of which the five in your question are the ones anybody occupies. Four of those five get a bottle. The one that does not is the attached bathroom, and the reason is a door that is open rather than a rule about bathrooms: fragrance passes freely through an open doorway, so a 45 sq ft room three metres from a 130ml is already inside that bottle's reach for most of the day. Buying it a bottle of its own would be paying ₹749 for air you are already charging.

The more interesting half of the question is what the fifth product should be, and the answer is decided by room-weeks rather than by rooms. Run at the reed counts these spaces actually want — six, four, three and two — the four bottles give roughly fifteen, nineteen, ten and twelve weeks each. That is 56 room-weeks for ₹4,196, or about ₹75 a room-week. A 300ml refill at ₹2,399 fills a 130ml roughly twice, which is another fifteen and nineteen weeks in the two rooms that matter most: 34 room-weeks for ₹2,399, about ₹71 each. It is cheaper per week of scented room than any bottle on the list, and it is the only purchase that protects the ones you have already made. Without it the home does not fade gently — it stops in stages. The second bedroom goes at about week ten, the common bathroom at twelve, the living-dining at fifteen and the master at nineteen, and somewhere in month four you are looking at ₹2,600 of replacement bottles you had not planned for.

The three decisions in a five-space home

1
DECISION ONE · THE TWO BATHROOMS
They are not the same purchase, and only one gets a bottle
SOSA reed diffusersOne 50ml₹749Two bathrooms in one flat almost never deserve the same treatment. The common bathroom is entered by everybody, including visitors, alone, with the door shut — and at 40 sq ft it is roughly a quarter of a rated space, so a ₹749 bottle on two reeds owns it outright rather than being stretched across it. It is the cheapest complete air space in the home and it is on the list without argument. The attached master bathroom is a different object: 45 sq ft behind a door that in most homes stands open all day onto a bedroom with a 130ml in it. Go and look at yours. If it is open, buy nothing — the space is already served. If it is genuinely kept shut, ₹749 is fair and the list becomes ₹7,344.
The check: stand in the bathroom doorway with the door as you normally leave it. If you can smell the bedroom bottle, you have your answer.
2
DECISION TWO · THE TWO BEDROOMS
Different sizes, decided by hours rather than area
At 165 and 135 sq ft these two rooms are close enough in floor area that area cannot settle the question — and people usually settle it by buying two identical bottles, which is the expensive mistake. What separates them is occupancy. The master has somebody in it every night and is entered repeatedly through the day; it takes the 130ml at ₹1,299 on four reeds, which suits a room you sleep in and carries the bottle past eighteen weeks. The second bedroom is occupied fewer hours and often by somebody who is asleep for most of them; it takes the 50ml at ₹799 on three reeds, which runs past ten weeks. If that room becomes an office, a nursery or a room somebody works in all day, promote it — hours are the variable, not square feet.
The reed counts: six in the living-dining, four in the master, three in the second bedroom, two in the common bathroom. Every one of them is free to change.
3
DECISION THREE · THE FIFTH PRODUCT
A refill, not a fifth bottle
If you insist on five diffusers, the fifth has to go somewhere, and the only candidates left are the attached bathroom, the kitchen, the balcony or a second point in the living-dining. The attached bathroom is already served through an open door. The kitchen is a room where heat empties a bottle in weeks and a working hob outruns any passive source — and we make no claim that fragrance removes anything from that air. The balcony is outdoors. A second living-dining point would buy a second origin, not a wider circle, unless the room is an L or runs over about 22 to 24 feet. So the fifth product is the 300ml refill at ₹2,399, which buys 34 more room-weeks at about ₹71 each — better value than every bottle above it — and turns four months of scented home into about ten.

Every space in this home, priced

All seven air spaces plus the balcony, with what each gets. Three rows come to ₹0. The four bottle rows add up to ₹4,196, and the refill takes the list to ₹6,595.

The five-product list
What each space gets — and the one product that is not a room
Space What it needs How many Cost
Living-dining with the foyer open to it, about 295 sq ft ★ One 130ml on six reeds near the foyer end — twice a rated space, so it anchors the threshold and the seating half rather than charging all of it One ₹1,349
Master bedroom, about 165 sq ft, door closes One 130ml on four reeds — most hours of any single room, and four reeds pushes it past eighteen weeks One ₹1,299
Second bedroom, about 135 sq ft, door closes One 50ml on three reeds — barely smaller than the master, but occupied for far fewer hours One ₹799
Common bathroom, about 40 sq ft, door closes One 50ml on two reeds — a quarter of a rated space, entered alone by every visitor One ₹749
Attached master bathroom, about 45 sq ft Nothing, if that door stands open — it is already inside the reach of the bedroom bottle. If it genuinely stays shut, ₹749 and the list becomes ₹7,344 None ₹0
Kitchen, balcony and passage Nothing, at any budget. Heat empties a bottle beside a hob and a working kitchen outruns any passive source; the balcony is outdoors; the passage is four seconds of occupancy None ₹0
A note on all of the above: the fifth product on this list is not a space at all — a 300ml refill at ₹2,399, which fills a 130ml roughly twice and buys about 34 more room-weeks at roughly ₹71 each, cheaper per week than any bottle above. And every longevity figure here is steady-state: six reeds, a closed room, still air, a standard ceiling. Kolkata humidity, an open balcony or a fan running all night will all shorten them, and none of that is fixed by buying more.

Four bottles, one refill, and one room left deliberately empty
The SOSA principle
Five spaces, five products — but only four of them are diffusers. The fifth is what stops the other four being a four-month home.
The bottles buy 56 room-weeks at about ₹75 each. The refill buys 34 more at about ₹71 — the best value on the list, and the only purchase that protects the ones before it.

Reeds, the two bathrooms, and when the refill actually goes in

Six, four, three and two — four different reed counts across four bottles. Reed count is the only volume control a reed diffuser has and it works in both directions at once: more reeds means a stronger room and a shorter bottle. Six in the living-dining, because 295 sq ft of open volume needs everything the bottle has and the room is met by arriving visitors. Four in the master, because a room you sleep in wants a level you notice on entering and forget while reading — and because four reeds carries a ₹1,299 bottle past eighteen weeks. Three in the second bedroom, which pushes a ₹799 bottle past ten. Two in the common bathroom, where three is a shop counter and two runs past twelve weeks. Fit them all, then leave the home alone for forty-eight hours: reeds have to saturate along their whole length before they throw properly. Judge each room from its doorway after half an hour outside, never from a chair inside it.

Then settle the attached bathroom by observation rather than by rule. Leave the door exactly as your household normally leaves it for a week. Then walk in from the bedroom and, separately, from the landing if there is another way in, and judge the first breath. In most Indian homes that door is open during the day and closed only in use, which means the room spends its life inside the bedroom bottle's reach and a second bottle three metres away would be buying a second origin in air already charged. If your household keeps it shut — common where the master bathroom is also the drying space — then it is genuinely separate air, a 50ml at ₹749 on two reeds is right, and the list becomes ₹7,344. This is the single place on the page where the answer depends on your habits rather than on your floor plan.

Then time the refill, because buying it early wastes it and buying it late costs more. On these reed counts the second bedroom finishes around week ten, the common bathroom around twelve, the living-dining around fifteen and the master past eighteen. Order the 300ml refill when the living-dining bottle is visibly low — around week thirteen or fourteen — because it fills a 130ml roughly twice and those are the two bottles worth refilling. The two 50ml are replaced rather than refilled at that stage; a 50ml is a different job. Refilling is also the moment to fit fresh reeds, since reeds clog over months as the heavier fragrance molecules saturate the fibre, and a throw that has dropped at week twelve is far more often clogged reeds than an empty bottle — you have four unused reeds sitting in every box. Keep every bottle on a tray or coaster, out of direct sun, out of an AC vent's stream and out of reach of children and pets; reed oil marks a polished finish permanently.

Five products is right. Five diffusers is not — one of your rooms is already being scented for free.

Honest notes before you buy: every figure on this page is the real one and every total adds up — check them. Two things are worth saying plainly before you buy anything. First, coverage claims are steady-state figures: a reed diffuser on six reeds holds a room of up to about 150 sq ft when that room is closed and still. Open a balcony door, run a fan, or raise the ceiling to twelve feet and the same bottle covers noticeably less — not because it is weak, but because coverage is measured in a condition your home may not be in. Second, most homes need fewer units than they buy. A room nobody sits in does not need fragrance; a corridor is a transit space, not a room; and adding reeds to an existing bottle is free, while adding a bottle is not. Reed count is the volume dial — six for full strength, four for a bedroom, two or three for a small bathroom — and it is the first thing to try. SOSA reed diffusers are oil-based and composed and made in India, in Pune; the Sukoon (₹1,899) runs the water-based Hotel Collection (from ₹299) and the two liquids are not interchangeable. Both are phthalate-free and composed to IFRA standards for home diffusion, not for skin or ingestion. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

A note from Sonal

The question arrives already answered: five rooms, five bottles. I would change two things about it. One of those rooms should get nothing, and one of the five products should not be a bottle at all. That gives you four diffusers and a refill, ₹6,595, and a home that is still working in month nine rather than month four.

The attached bathroom is the one people argue with, so please just go and look at the door. In nearly every home I have visited it stands open all day. A 45 square foot room three metres from a 130ml is inside that bottle's reach; buying it its own is paying ₹749 for air you are already charging. If your household keeps that door closed — and some do, especially where the clothes dry in there — then it is a real separate space and I would sell you the bottle happily.

And I would rather you bought the refill than a fifth bottle, even though the fifth bottle is the easier sale. Four bottles bought together give you about fourteen weeks before things start going out, and then you are facing two thousand six hundred rupees of replacements in a month you were not expecting it. One refill at ₹2,399 fills a 130ml twice over, keeps the two rooms that matter running to about ten months, and comes with the best excuse in the range to put fresh reeds in. That is the purchase I would make fifth. A portion of every order funds a girl's classroom through Nanhi Kali.

Frequently asked questions

Which five products do I need for two bathrooms, two bedrooms and a living room?
Four diffusers and one refill: a 130ml at ₹1,349 for the living-dining on six reeds, a 130ml at ₹1,299 for the master bedroom on four, a 50ml at ₹799 for the second bedroom on three, a 50ml at ₹749 for the common bathroom on two — ₹4,196 — plus a 300ml refill at ₹2,399. ₹6,595 in total.
Do both of my bathrooms need a diffuser?
Usually only one. The common bathroom gets a 50ml at ₹749 on two reeds: it is entered alone by every visitor with the door shut, and at 40 sq ft one bottle owns it outright. The attached master bathroom normally gets nothing, because its door stands open onto a bedroom with a 130ml in it and the space is already inside that bottle's reach. Check your own door before deciding — if it stays shut, ₹749 is fair.
Should my two bedrooms get the same size diffuser?
Not usually, and the deciding factor is hours rather than square feet. At 165 and 135 sq ft they are close in area, but the master is occupied every night and entered repeatedly, so it takes a 130ml on four reeds; the second bedroom is occupied fewer hours and takes a 50ml on three. If the second bedroom becomes an office or a nursery with somebody in it all day, promote it to a 130ml.
Why is a refill one of the five products rather than a fifth diffuser?
Because it is the best value on the list and it protects the four purchases before it. The four bottles give roughly 56 room-weeks for ₹4,196 — about ₹75 each. The refill fills a 130ml roughly twice, which is about 34 more room-weeks for ₹2,399, roughly ₹71 each. Without it the home stops in stages between weeks ten and nineteen and you face about ₹2,600 of unplanned replacement bottles.
When should I order the refill?
When the living-dining bottle is visibly low, around week thirteen or fourteen. A 300ml fills a 130ml roughly twice, so it is for your two 130ml bottles; the two 50ml are replaced rather than refilled. Refilling is also the moment to fit fresh reeds — clogged fibre is the commonest reason throw drops after a few months, and there are four unused reeds in every box you have bought.
