What is the most romantic SOSA fragrance for an anniversary at home?

Can I put a diffuser on the dining table for the ambience?
Please do not, for two separate reasons. The first is taste: the table already has candles, flowers and the meal on it, all at close range and all at nose height, and adding a register there means it is folded into the food rather than sitting beside it. Since most of what we perceive as flavour is actually smell, that is a real cost to a dinner you spent the afternoon making. The second is safety, and it is the harder rule: an anniversary table almost always has lit candles on it, and no diffuser, reed bottle, machine or fragrance product should ever share a surface with an open flame. Reed diffusers are open-necked bottles of liquid oil. Ultrasonic machines need a power point, which means a cord running to a table where people are eating and reaching across. Put the flowers and the candles on the table, and put the fragrance in the hall you walked through and the room you will move to afterwards.
Do I need a scent machine for a dinner for two, or will a reed do?
A reed will do, and we would rather tell you that than sell you a machine. For two people in a home, one reed diffuser from Rs 749 at the entrance and a second in the room you move to after dinner is genuinely the whole honest answer. They need no power, no cord near a table with candles on it and nothing to remember, they cannot be turned up in a moment of doubt at nine o'clock, and they keep working for roughly six to ten weeks so the evening leaves something behind. If you want a room to be scented before you walk into it and then to stop, an ultrasonic is the right shape rather than a bigger machine: a Boond at Rs 899 or a Sukoon at Rs 1,899, both running the water-based Hotel Collection from Rs 299 for 15ml. I set the fragrance at seven and by nine I cannot smell it. Should I add more?
No, and this is the single most common mistake on a long evening. Your nose adapts to a constant smell within roughly the first hour, which means that by nine you have genuinely stopped detecting something that is still doing exactly what it was doing at seven. Anyone walking in from outside at that moment would find it precisely as present as when you set it. If you top it up, you have doubled a level that was already correct, in a room you will sit in for another two hours, and it will still be there in the morning. The better move is to change rooms rather than settings: move to a living room with a different, warmer register in it after dinner and your nose reports again immediately, because a new register in a new room is not what it has adapted to. That gives you the sense of the evening progressing, which is what you actually wanted, and it costs one more reed from Rs 749 rather than a stronger anything.
How far ahead should I set it up for a dinner at home?
An hour or two before you sit down, and after the cooking rather than during it. The order matters: cook, run the extractor well past the end of the cooking rather than switching it off with the gas, air the room briefly if it needs it, and only then scent, because fragrance laid over an unaired kitchen smell gives you both at once rather than either one. The aim is a room that already smells settled when you walk into it, not a room that is actively scenting while you are sitting in it, and those two things smell noticeably different. Set it low. Then leave it alone for the whole evening. If you own a machine with a timer, this is exactly what the schedule is for: have it finish before you sit down and let the settled air be the effect.
