When the scented volume is genuinely past about 1,500 square feet, or when one of four specific problems describes your clinic. Coverage on its own almost never justifies ₹11,999, and it is more useful to set out the gate than the sales case.
Quick answers — read this first
When does a chiropractic clinic need an active waterless scent machine? Past a size gate, or on one of four named reasons. The gate is a scented volume of roughly 1,500 square feet, which at a 3.05 metre ceiling is 1,500 × 3.05 × 0.0929, about 425 cubic metres. Below that, the Vaayu at ₹11,999 is bought for control, no water, distribution or uptime rather than for coverage. If not one of those four describes an actual problem in your building, the honest purchase is a reed at ₹749.

What are the four reasons, in one line each? Control: timed run windows, chosen days, adjustable intensity and a key-lock, so the level cannot drift and staff can stop it in seconds. No water: waterless nebulisation of undiluted oil, so nothing is added to a sealed room and there is no tank cycle or mineral film. Distribution: wall or HVAC mounting puts the source in the air path, which a bottle on a desk cannot reach. Uptime: a 400ml tank running 90+ days, under 38dB, at 5W.

Which of the four actually justifies the price over a reed diffuser? Two of them, and it is worth being blunt. No water and uptime are arguments against an ultrasonic machine, because a reed adds no humidity either and asks only for a weekly flip. They do not argue for spending ₹11,999 rather than ₹749. Control and distribution genuinely do, because a bottle cannot be switched off in seconds, cannot hold a level against a year of staff adjusting it, and cannot be mounted where the air moves.
The short answer
Short answer: Past a size gate of roughly 1,500 square feet of scented floor - about 425 cubic metres at a normal ceiling - or where one of four specific problems applies: control, no water, distribution or uptime. Coverage alone rarely justifies ₹11,999 below that gate. Two of the four reasons argue against an ultrasonic rather than in favour of a machine over a bottle, so if not one of them describes your clinic, the reed is the honest answer.
The pick: one SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999 past the gate, and one Morning Freshness reed at ₹749 below it with no reason named.
Next step: send the room list with the unscented rooms crossed off, the ceiling height, and one sentence on which of the four reasons applies - ask for a clinic scenting plan.
The gate first, then the four reasonsThe gate: about 1,500 sq ft scented, or 425 cubic metresBelow it, four reasons: control, no water, distribution, uptimeNo water and uptime argue against ultrasonics, not against a reedControl and distribution are the two that buy the machineNot one of the four? Everything on that list is a test you can apply to your own building this afternoon, and most clinics fail it in the reader's favour.

Straight answer
When does a chiropractic clinic genuinely need an active waterless scent machine?
Past a size gate, or where one of four named problems applies - and the gate comes first because it disqualifies most readers before the reasons are even discussed. The gate. Cross off every room that is never scented: adjustment rooms, treatment rooms, examination and imaging rooms, the rehabilitation floor, store, washroom, office, plant. Measure what is left, then convert it, because equipment is rated in cubic metres and a lease is written in square feet: floor area in square feet × ceiling height in metres × 0.0929. At a 3.05 metre ceiling the ladder reads 300 sq ft as about 85 cubic metres, 750 as 212, 1,500 as 425 and 3,000 as 850. The SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999 becomes correct on coverage from roughly 425 cubic metres upward, and the SOSA Angaan at ₹25,999 from about 850. If your figure is well below 425, coverage is not your argument and no amount of enthusiasm makes it one. The four reasons. Below the gate a machine is bought for something other than reach. Control: 1h/4h/8h/24h run windows, chosen days, adjustable intensity and a key-lock, so a level survives a year of several people opening the clinic and can be stopped in seconds when somebody objects. No water: waterless nebulisation of undiluted oil, adding no humidity to a sealed air-conditioned room, with no tank cycle and no mineral film settling on upholstery or equipment - every ultrasonic in the range, the Boond at ₹899, the Sukoon at ₹1,899 and the Megh at ₹3,499, aerosolises water. Distribution: wall or HVAC mounting puts the source into the air path, which a bottle standing on a console cannot do. Uptime: a 400ml tank at 90+ days, under 38dB so a consultation is undisturbed, and 5W, which is roughly 1.5 units of electricity a month on a ten-hour daily schedule, though tariffs vary. Now the part I would rather you took from this page than any of the above. Two of those four reasons are arguments against an ultrasonic, not arguments for spending ₹11,999 instead of ₹749. A reed adds no water either. A reed asks for a weekly flip with gloves and nothing else. So only control and distribution genuinely argue for the machine over a bottle, and if you cannot write one sentence describing which person or which corridor needs them, buy the reed. Fragrance here is an ambience decision like lighting, seating or flooring, it works alongside your ventilation and cleaning rather than instead of them, SOSA products are not medical devices, we make no claim that scenting affects bookings, retention or spend, adjustment and treatment rooms stay unscented, and the clinician's judgement overrides any scenting plan.
Past about 425 cubic metres of scented air, or where control or distribution describes a real problem. No water and uptime argue against ultrasonics rather than against a bottle, so below the gate with nothing named, buy the ₹749 reed.
Past the gate, one SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999, mounted, run low and key-locked. Below the gate with not one of the four reasons named, one Morning Freshness reed at ₹749, and the difference stays in your account.

The two machines past the gate

These are the machines the gate eventually sends people to, and most readers of this page will not be sent to either. The specifications are here so the four reasons can be checked against real capabilities rather than adjectives.

SOSA Vaayu
The machine the gate points at
SOSA Vaayu
Waterless cold-air nebuliser at ₹11,999, rated to 1000m³, 400ml at 90+ days, 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, adjustable intensity, key-lock, under 38dB, 5W, freestanding or wall and HVAC mount. Every one of the four reasons is a line on that specification.

HVAC nebulising diffuser at ₹25,999, rated to 3,000m³ or roughly 8,000-10,000 sq ft, 800ml reservoir, metal body, programmable schedules, under 42dB, HVAC-connected or standalone wall-mount. Correct past about 850 cubic metres of scented air, and only where there is a system to join.

SOSA Vaayu
The four reasons, written as a specification
SOSA Vaayu Waterless Diffuser
₹11,999, 1000m³ coverage (about 2,000-3,000 sq ft), waterless nebulisation of undiluted oil with no water and no heat, 400ml tank lasting 90+ days, Bluetooth app and onboard buttons, 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, adjustable intensity, auto-stop, key-lock, under 38dB, DC 12V/1A at 5W, 165 × 80.5 × 215mm, 0.9kg, black or white, freestanding or wall and HVAC mount. CE, RoHS and SGS are electrical and compliance marks, not medical approval. Made in India.

The gate, and the four reasons sorted honestly

Three sections, in the order they should be applied. The gate disqualifies most clinics. Then two reasons that genuinely buy the machine, and two that are usually mistaken for reasons and are not.

1
First
The gate, applied to your own building in ten minutes
Take the floor plan and cross off every unscented room: adjustment and treatment rooms, examination and imaging rooms, any combined consultation-and-treatment room, the rehabilitation floor, store, washroom, office and plant. Measure what survives - normally reception, waiting area and corridor. Then measure the ceiling over it, because that term is a third of the sum and never appears on a lease. Multiply: square feet × metres × 0.0929. At a 3.05 metre ceiling, 300 square feet is about 85 cubic metres, 750 is 212, 1,500 is 425 and 3,000 is 850. The machine becomes correct on coverage from roughly 425 up. Most practices, once the cabins come out, land between 85 and 210, which is two rungs below and not a close call.
Tip: Do the subtraction before the multiplication. A clinic with more treatment rooms is a smaller scenting job, not a larger one.
SOSA Vaayu
The Vaayu's 1000m³ is the figure to hold your own number against. Everything else on the page is an argument about what to do below it.

Second
Control and distribution: the two that buy the machine
Control is not a preference, it is a list of things a bottle cannot do. It cannot be stopped in seconds by whoever is at the desk, and the sensitivity rule asks for exactly that - if a client objects you switch it off and apologise once, without defending the choice. It cannot hold a number against a year of three people opening the clinic and adding a reed each. A key-lock can. Distribution is equally concrete: mounting on a wall or into air handling puts the source where the building already moves air, which is the only way scent reaches a corridor or a far waiting bay. If you can name the person who needs the switch or the corridor that fails, you have a reason. A general wish for something more professional is not one.
Tip: Write both reasons as a sentence with a name or a place in it. Vague versions do not survive contact with an invoice.
SOSA Vaayu
Run windows, chosen days, adjustable intensity, auto-stop and a key-lock. That is what control means on the Vaayu, and it is the honest half of this page.
See SOSA Vaayu →
3
Third
No water and uptime: two reasons that point somewhere else
Both are real properties and both are routinely misread. Waterless matters: every ultrasonic aerosolises water, so it adds humidity to a room that may already have plenty and leaves a tank to empty and a mineral film that settles on upholstery and equipment. Uptime matters too: 400ml at 90+ days and under 38dB is a different maintenance conversation from a tank on a weekly rota. But notice what those two are arguing with. A reed diffuser adds no water at all, has no tank, leaves no film, makes no noise and asks for one flip a week with gloves. So neither reason gets you from ₹749 to ₹11,999. They only get you from an ultrasonic to a waterless one, which is a different journey with a different starting point.
SOSA Vaayu
Where an ultrasonic is already installed and the humidity or the tank has become a problem, the Vaayu is the right correction. Where a bottle is installed and working, it is not.
See SOSA Vaayu →
The SOSA principle
The size gate is not a recommendation, it is a filter. Past it the four reasons decide the specification; below it they have to describe a real person or a real corridor, or the answer is a bottle.
Applied honestly, that filter sends most chiropractic practices to a reed and keeps them there, which is the correct outcome and the reason this page exists.
SOSA Vaayu
The gate in one figure: roughly 425 cubic metres of scented air, which is about 1,500 square feet at a normal ceiling. Below it, a named reason. Above it, the machine.

The gate in both units

The ladder written twice, because a lease speaks square feet and a product page speaks cubic metres. Find your own scented figure and read across.

The SOSA plan
The size gate in both units, from a bottle to a building
Scented floor, and the same figure in cubic metres The honest rung, and what would change it
Under ~300 sq ft, under about 85 cubic metres
One reed diffuser at ₹749, three reeds standing rather than six. A machine here is buying capability the room has no use for, and there is no version of the four reasons that overrides a figure this small.
SOSA Vaayu~300-750 sq ft, about 85 to 212 cubic metres
A reed, or the Sukoon at ₹1,899 where control is named. Both formats hold the volume, so the decision is about the switch and not about reach. View →
~750-1,500 sq ft, about 212 to 425 cubic metres
The real decision point, and it is settled by control and distribution rather than by coverage. A named person or a failing corridor takes you up a rung. An absence of either keeps you where you are.
SOSA Vaayu~1,500-3,000 sq ft, about 425 to 850 cubic metres
The Vaayu at ₹11,999, wall or HVAC mounted, at a low intensity with the key-lock on. Past about 850 cubic metres it becomes the Angaan at ₹25,999, and only where there is duct work to join. View →

How to work out your own scented figure, rather than the one on your lease, is in scenting a 750 sq ft clinic with multiple treatment rooms, the reason a second unit never substitutes for a correctly sized one is in one machine against multiple zones, and the distribution argument in full is in central AC and fragrance distribution. SOSA makes no health, therapeutic or wellbeing claim of any kind, and no claim that scenting affects bookings, retention or spend.

SOSA Vaayu
Control, itemised rather than asserted: 1h/4h/8h/24h run windows, chosen days, adjustable intensity, auto-stop and a key-lock so the level cannot be quietly raised.
The gate takes ten minutes and a tape measure, and it usually saves money
Send the room list with the unscented rooms crossed off and the ceiling height, and we will tell you which side of it you are on.

Two of the four reasons argue against an ultrasonic rather than for an eleven-thousand-rupee machine. Only control and distribution genuinely argue for it over a bottle.

Below the gate the ladder runs: one reed at ₹749-₹849 under about 85 cubic metres, a reed or the Sukoon at ₹1,899 to about 212, and a genuine decision between the two formats to about 425. Four honest gaps: no cold-air refill oil for the Vaayu is sold today, so the 400ml in the box is the supply available and refills should be confirmed with SOSA directly; there is no hotel-inspired reed diffuser; SOSA makes no room spray, since every spray in the range is a car product; and there is no published warranty, installation service or spare-parts statement, so ask rather than assume. Fragrance is an ambience decision like lighting or seating, with no health, therapeutic or clinical claim of any kind. It works alongside your ventilation, cleaning and clinical protocol, never instead of them, and SOSA products are not medical devices. Adjustment and treatment rooms stay unscented, staff must be able to stop the source within seconds, and the clinician's judgement overrides any plan. Ask for a clinic scenting plan and we will apply the gate to your own drawing.

A note from Sonal

This is the page I send people to when they open with the machine rather than the room, which is most weeks. The order matters more than any single fact on it. Gate first, because arithmetic does not negotiate. Reasons second, because a reason has to have a name or a place in it. Product third, and often there is no product third, which is a perfectly good ending to a conversation.

The sorting of the four is the part I find hardest to write and still believe is right. Waterless operation and ninety days of uptime are good properties of the machine I make, and they are also arguments with an ultrasonic rather than with a bottle. A reed puts no water in the air, has no tank, leaves no film on a treatment table and costs seven hundred and forty-nine rupees. Letting those two carry the sale would be selling on a comparison the reader is not making.

So a good share of the people who reach the bottom of this pillar should buy nothing above ₹749, and I would rather write it here than have it discovered in month three. We make no health, therapeutic or clinical claim of any kind and no claim that scenting affects bookings, retention or spend. Fragrance is an ambience decision, like lighting or seating. Treatment rooms stay unscented, staff must be able to stop the source in seconds, and the clinician's judgement overrides any plan. Made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

Frequently asked questions

What is the size gate for an active waterless machine?
Roughly 1,500 square feet of scented floor, which at a 3.05 metre ceiling is about 425 cubic metres. Scented floor is what is left after adjustment rooms, treatment rooms, imaging, the rehab floor, store, washroom and office are crossed off. Most practices land between 85 and 212 cubic metres once that is done, two rungs below the gate.
Can a clinic below the gate ever justify the machine?
Yes, on control or distribution, and the test is whether you can write the reason as a sentence containing a person or a place. A receptionist who needs the source stopped at a set hour is a reason. A corridor that fails wherever the bottle stands is a reason. Wanting the clinic to feel more considered is not, and it is answered better by ₹749 and better lighting.
Is coverage on its own ever enough to justify ₹11,999?
Only past the gate, and by then coverage has stopped being the interesting part of the decision. Below it, a machine rated to 1000 cubic metres in a room holding 90 is not covering better, it is idling. Rated volume is a ceiling on what a unit can hold, not a measure of how well it holds a smaller room.
What oil does the Vaayu take, and how often is it refilled?
The tank holds 400ml and runs 90+ days a fill, and the machine ships with four 100ml bottles in one of three fragrance combinations at the same price. Beyond that, no cold-air refill oil for the Vaayu is sold today, so the supply in the box is what is available and continuing supply should be confirmed with SOSA directly.
What does the machine cost to run?
About 1.5 units of electricity a month on a ten-hour daily schedule, since it draws 5W on DC 12V/1A. Tariffs vary, so that is the figure in units rather than rupees. It is under 38dB, which matters more in practice than the power draw, because a machine you can hear during a consultation is a machine somebody switches off.

Facts verified 24 August 2026 against the live SOSA product pages: the SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) is a waterless cold-air nebuliser rated to 1000m³, described by the manufacturer as approximately 2,000-3,000 sq ft, with a 400ml refillable tank lasting 90+ days depending on intensity and run hours, Bluetooth app and onboard button control, 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, adjustable intensity, operation under 38dB, DC 12V/1A at 5W (roughly 1.5 units of electricity a month on a ten-hour daily schedule), freestanding or wall and HVAC mounting, auto-stop and key-lock, and CE, RoHS and SGS certification. Being waterless, it adds no moisture and leaves no residue on surfaces or equipment. The SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) is an HVAC nebulising diffuser rated to 3,000m³, roughly 8,000-10,000 sq ft, with an 800ml reservoir, metal body, programmable schedules and operation under 42dB, and also runs standalone wall-mounted or lay-flat. Ambient scent is an interior and hospitality decision: it works alongside proper ventilation, cleaning and clinical protocol and is not a substitute for any of them, it is not a medical device, and SOSA makes no health, therapeutic or treatment claim of any kind and no claim that fragrance affects bookings, retention or spend. CE, RoHS and SGS are electrical and compliance marks, not medical approval.
