Is the SOSA Vaayu in this band? No, and it is not a home gift at any budget - at Rs 11,999 it is a waterless nebuliser built for roughly 1000 cubic metres, which is showroom scale.
What is the best use of this budget for a home? A reed diffuser with a 500ml refill at Rs 3,499, or the Megh at Rs 3,499 for a genuinely large open-plan space, always with something to run in it.
The top of the domestic range, and what sits above it
The useful fact about this band is where it sits. Below five thousand rupees is the entire domestic top end of this shop - the largest machine that makes sense in a normal home, the longest-running reed arrangement, the waterless car diffuser, and the sets. Above it there is exactly one thing, and it is not a bigger home product; it is a commercial one. That means the question at this level is not how to spend more but which of four things fits the recipient, and the answer depends almost entirely on the space involved. For a home, the strongest use of this budget is duration rather than hardware. A reed diffuser at seven hundred and forty-nine to eight hundred and forty-nine rupees with a five-hundred-millilitre refill at three thousand four hundred and ninety-nine behind it gives well over a year of the same scent in one place. That matters more than it sounds: a fragrance running for ten weeks is pleasant, while one running for a year or more becomes what a home smells like during a particular period, and people very commonly report that a scent used across a stretch of life brings that stretch back years afterwards. It is a widely reported experience rather than a mechanism this shop is claiming, and nothing here is a scientific or medical statement - but it only has a chance of happening if the fragrance is present long enough to stop being a novelty. The three-hundred-millilitre refill at two thousand three hundred and ninety-nine rupees is the shorter version of the same idea and gives about a year. Reeds use their own alcohol-free reed oil drawn up rattan by capillary action - a separate system, so reed oil never goes into a machine. For a genuinely large or open-plan home, the Megh at three thousand four hundred and ninety-nine rupees is the right machine: six litres, built for a big connected living area rather than a set of separate rooms. This is where people who think they need the Vaayu actually land. Do the volume maths before buying: floor area in square feet times ceiling height in feet, divided by roughly thirty-five, gives cubic metres. A standard flat does not need this and is better served by reeds. The Megh runs on the water-based Hotel Collection concentrate at two hundred and ninety-nine rupees for fifteen millilitres, nine hundred and ninety-nine for a hundred or one thousand seven hundred and ninety-nine for three hundred, used at three to six drops per tank - and it must never be given with an empty tank, because a machine with nothing to run in it is equipment rather than a gift. The Sukoon at one thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine rupees, five hundred millilitres with a timer, remains the right size for a bedroom or a medium living room and leaves room in this budget for a second gift. The seven registers are Quiet Luxury with white tea, bergamot and cedar; White Tea Serenity with white tea, aloe and cedar; Forest Suite with cedarwood, vetiver and green leaves; Old-World Glamour with amber, violet and woods; Tea Garden with jasmine, green tea and white tea; Warm Welcome with citrus, floral and sandalwood; and Lobby Bar with citrus, pepper and amber. These are SOSA's own interpretations and the shop is independent and not affiliated with any hotel brand. Where the achievement was a car, the SOSA Safar at three thousand nine hundred and ninety-nine rupees is the top of that category: a waterless car diffuser rather than a hanging object, which is proper equipment for somebody whose car genuinely matters to them. Nebuliser refills are one thousand and forty-nine rupees for a hundred grams and one thousand eight hundred and forty-nine for three hundred, and it should never be given empty. The caveat this shop gives at every price still applies: never give car fragrance to cover the smell of a new car, because most owners like it and it fades on its own within weeks. Give it for month two or three instead. Hotel-inspired sets at four thousand four hundred and ninety-nine rupees are the packaged option in this band and suit somebody who wants a complete arrangement rather than assembling one. Combinations also work well here and are often better than a single large item, because they cover more than one register. A reed at eight hundred and forty-nine plus a three-hundred-millilitre refill at two thousand three hundred and ninety-nine plus the Attar Trio at one thousand and fifty-five comes to four thousand three hundred and three rupees and covers a home for a year and a person at the same time - which for a first home or a major personal achievement is about as complete as this range gets. Now the exclusion, stated plainly because people arrive at this page looking to spend more. The SOSA Vaayu at eleven thousand nine hundred and ninety-nine rupees is a waterless nebuliser designed for roughly one thousand cubic metres. For comparison, a 1,200 square foot flat with ten-foot ceilings is about three hundred and forty cubic metres - roughly a third of that. The Vaayu is the correct product for a showroom, a hotel or office lobby, a restaurant floor, a large clinic or a retail space, and it is genuinely the best gift in this shop for somebody who has just opened a second store or taken a commercial property. It is the wrong product for a flat or a standard three-bedroom house, where an oversized diffuser produces a room that is unmistakably heavily fragranced rather than one with subtle depth. Running a large machine permanently at its lowest setting is also an expensive way to do what a seven-hundred-and-forty-nine rupee reed does with no settings at all. We would rather say that than take the larger sale. Finally, the point that holds at every level of this range: three or four specific written sentences naming what the person did, and sending the gift in week two or three rather than in the forty-eight hours when everybody else is sending theirs, both cost nothing and matter more than the difference between two thousand and five thousand rupees.
Four things, and one exclusion

Versailles
There is a pattern I noticed years before we sold anything, and it is the reason this section exists. Somebody achieves something that took them years - the flat, the first car bought outright, the manuscript finished at last - and for about forty-eight hours the phone does not stop. Then it stops completely. The achievement took three years; the celebrating took a weekend, and then everybody went back to their own lives, which is not unkind, it is just how attention works.
Which means a gift arriving in week two or three lands in an empty field. That is the single most useful thing on any of these pages and it costs nothing. The second is that a congratulations gift is not repaying anything: nobody owes anybody here, so there is no ledger to balance and no risk of over-gifting into an obligation. You are free to be as generous as the relationship allows. And write the note about what they did, not about how you feel - name the four years, the thing they gave up, the draft they rewrote eleven times.
Two honest things. If somebody has just bought a new car, do not buy them something to cover the smell of it - most new owners like it, it fades on its own, and a fragrance is better introduced a few weeks later in a restrained register. And if somebody has bought a new home, size the gift to the home: our Vaayu is a waterless nebuliser built for spaces of roughly a thousand cubic metres, which is a hotel lobby rather than a three-bedroom flat, and we would rather tell you that than sell you one. Message us on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531 with what they achieved and what their place is like, and we will say honestly if we think fragrance is the wrong call.
