Worth it is not a feeling, it is an itemised list, so here is the list. The single fact most readers get wrong before they compare anything is that the price includes the fragrance: four hotel-inspired waterless blends arrive in the box, and in this category fragrance is almost always sold separately, which quietly changes what the number on the page means. Below is everything the money buys, everything it changes on an ordinary day, and the four things it does not do at any price.
Quick answers — read this first
What do you actually get for Rs 11,999 with the SOSA Vaayu? Four things, and the fourth is the one people do not expect. First, the machine itself: a waterless cold-air nebulising unit that atomises fragrance oil into an extremely fine dispersion which travels with the room's air rather than sitting beside the source, with no water tank, no damp and no residue ring. Second, a coverage rating of approximately 1000 cubic metres, which at a ten foot ceiling is roughly 3,500 square feet of connected air. Third, Bluetooth app and timer scheduling, which is the actual product rather than a convenience feature, because it means the house is already scented before anybody arrives. And fourth, four hotel-inspired waterless blends included in the box, chosen as Bundle A, B or C at purchase. Fragrance in this category is nearly always sold separately, so most readers assume they are looking at a machine price plus a fragrance price.

What does a scent machine actually change in a home day to day? Three things, none of them dramatic and all of them constant. The arrival moment: the first eight seconds inside your own front door stop being accidental, which matters because that is the only part of a house every single person experiences. The consistency: one register at one level from the entrance through the living room and dining rather than a change of subject at every doorway, which is what makes a house read as one place rather than as a set of rooms someone dealt with separately. And the removal of the decision: because the schedule ran an hour earlier, nobody sprays anything before guests arrive, nobody wonders whether it is enough, and nobody overdoes it at the last minute because they cannot smell their own house. Settled air reads as the character of a building; air being actively scented while a guest stands in it reads as a product working.

What does a scent machine not do, even at Rs 11,999? Four things, stated plainly. It does not push scent through a closed door, at any price, setting or placement, because the mechanism is air movement and there is none between a passage and a sealed room, so bedrooms and guest bathrooms remain a separate job for reeds from Rs 749 or an ultrasonic with the water-based Hotel Collection from Rs 299. It does not fix a smell problem: damp, a dried-out floor trap, a shoe cabinet or poor cross-ventilation are ventilation and cleaning jobs, and fragrance over a real source reads as concealment. It does not clean, purify or treat the air, and we make no health, therapeutic or wellness claims. And it does not come with a published running cost: no standalone waterless refill is listed, so no refill price, consumption rate or blend duration may be stated, and ongoing supply is arranged on WhatsApp.
The short answer
Short answer: Worth it is an itemised list rather than a feeling, so here is the list. Rs 11,999 buys four things. One, the machine: a waterless cold-air nebulising unit that atomises oil into an extremely fine dispersion which travels with the room's air rather than sitting beside the source, so there is no water tank, no filling, no damp and no ring on the surface it stands on. Two, coverage of approximately 1000 cubic metres, which at a ten foot ceiling is roughly 3,500 square feet of connected air: floor area times ceiling height gives cubic feet, cubic feet divided by 35.3 gives cubic metres, so 1,500 square feet is about 425 cubic metres, 2,000 about 566, 2,500 about 708 and 3,000 about 850. Three, Bluetooth app and timer scheduling, which is the actual product rather than a feature, because a run that finishes before you need the room leaves settled air, and settled air reads as the character of a building while air being actively scented while a guest stands in it reads as a product working. Four, and this is the one most readers assume is sold separately, four hotel-inspired waterless blends included in the box, chosen as Bundle A, B or C at purchase: Bundle A is Ritz-Carlton-inspired white tea, bergamot and cedar, Westin-inspired white tea, aloe and cedar, St. Regis-inspired amber, violet and woods, and 1 Hotels-inspired cedarwood, vetiver and green leaves. Bundle B is Westin-inspired, Shangri-La-inspired jasmine, green tea and white tea, Four Seasons-inspired citrus, floral and sandalwood, and Ritz-Carlton-inspired. Bundle C is St. Regis-inspired, W Hotels-inspired citrus, pepper and amber, 1 Hotels-inspired and Four Seasons-inspired. What changes daily: the arrival moment stops being accidental, the house holds one register from entrance to dining instead of changing subject at every doorway, and nobody makes a decision about fragrance on the evening. The honest limits, all four. It does not pass a closed door at any price, so bedrooms and guest bathrooms are a separate job: a reed from Rs 749, or a Boond at Rs 899 or Sukoon at Rs 1,899 with the water-based Hotel Collection at Rs 299, which is Rs 1,198 or Rs 2,198 per room. The Rs 299 water-based bottle never goes into a Vaayu, which runs waterless oil. It does not fix a smell problem, because damp, a dried-out floor trap and a shoe cabinet are ventilation and cleaning jobs and scent over a real source reads as concealment. It makes no health, therapeutic, air-purification or wellness claim. And it has no published running cost: no standalone waterless refill is listed, so no refill price, consumption rate, monthly cost or blend duration may be stated, not estimated and not roughly, and ongoing supply is arranged on WhatsApp. One Vaayu plus three bedroom reeds at Rs 749 is Rs 14,246. For genuine whole-home reach on central air-conditioning the Aangan at Rs 25,999 ducts through the house. SOSA blends are SOSA's own hotel-inspired interpretations and SOSA is not affiliated with any hotel brand. WhatsApp +91 96192 18531.
The pick: the SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999, four hotel-inspired blends included in the box) for the connected living volume of a villa; reeds from ₹749 for a single bedroom or bathroom; a single room done properly from ₹899; the Aangan (₹25,999) ducted into central air-conditioning for genuine whole-home coverage.

A villa is not one room, it is a set of connected volumes and a set of closed doors, and the two need different answers. Whole-home scenting means one fragrance held evenly across the part of the house you actually live in - the entrance, the living room, the dining - running on a schedule so it is already there when someone walks through your front door, and already there when you come home yourself. The bedrooms, the guest bathroom and the study get their own quiet solutions. Nobody in the house has to remember anything.
Straight answer
Is a scent machine actually worth the money for a luxury home, and what does the price include?
Four things in the price, three things that change daily, four things it will not do. 1. The machine. The SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999 is waterless cold-air nebulising: the oil is atomised into an extremely fine dispersion that travels with the room's air rather than sitting beside the source. No tank, no filling, no damp, no ring on the console. 2. Approximately 1000m³ of coverage, roughly 3,500 square feet at a ten foot ceiling. Floor area times height gives cubic feet, divided by 35.3 gives cubic metres: 2,000 square feet is about 566m³, 3,000 about 850m³. 3. Bluetooth app and timer. This is the actual product. A run that finishes before you need the room leaves settled air, which reads as the character of the building; a machine started while guests are in the room reads as a product working. 4. Four hotel-inspired waterless blends in the box, chosen as Bundle A, B or C. Most readers assume this is sold separately, and in this category it usually is. SOSA blends are SOSA's own hotel-inspired interpretations; SOSA is not affiliated with any hotel brand. 5. What changes daily. The arrival moment stops being accidental. The house holds one register from the entrance to the dining table instead of changing subject at every doorway. And nobody decides anything on the evening. 6. The four honest limits. It does not pass a closed door - bedrooms take a reed from ₹749, or a Boond ₹899 or Sukoon ₹1,899 with the water-based Hotel Collection at ₹299, which is ₹1,198 or ₹2,198 a room, and that bottle never goes into a Vaayu. It does not fix damp, a dried-out floor trap or a shoe cabinet, which are ventilation and cleaning jobs. It makes no health, purification or wellness claim. And no refill price, consumption rate or blend duration is published, so we state none - ask us on WhatsApp +91 96192 18531 before buying. Made in India; a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
One line: ₹11,999 buys the machine, approximately 1000m³ of connected coverage, a Bluetooth app and timer, and four hotel-inspired blends in the box that most readers assume are sold separately - and it still cannot reach a closed bedroom. See the Vaayu or WhatsApp +91 96192 18531.
The whole-home answer most villa owners land on: the SOSA Vaayu - waterless cold-air scenting to ~1000m³, Bluetooth app and timer, and four hotel-inspired blends included in the box - at ₹11,999. One bedroom or a guest bathroom starts on reeds from ₹749; a single room done properly from ₹899; central air-conditioning from ₹25,999. What the money buys, line by line

The four things in the price with what each one actually means in a house, the three things that change on an ordinary day rather than on a party evening, and the four limits that no amount of money moves.

Why this works at home
Rs 11,999, itemised - including the part most readers assume costs extra
1The machine: waterless cold-air, no tank, no filling, no damp, no ring2Coverage of approximately 1000 cubic metres, as one connected volume only3Bluetooth app and timer, which is the product rather than the convenience4Four hotel-inspired blends in the box, which most readers assume cost extra
The whole-home answer: the SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999 - waterless, app-scheduled, ~1000m³, and it arrives with four hotel-inspired blends in the box. A single bedroom or guest bathroom starts on reeds from ₹749.
1
The price
Four things in the box, and the fourth changes the comparison
One: the machine, and what waterless actually means in a house rather than on a specification sheet. A cold-air nebulising unit atomises fragrance oil directly into an extremely fine dispersion, with no water and no heat involved. The practical consequences are domestic rather than technical. There is no tank, so there is nothing to fill on a Sunday and nothing to empty when you travel. There is no mist, so there is no damp settling on a console, no ring on a timber surface and nothing to wipe. And because the particles are extremely fine, they travel with the room's normal air movement rather than falling out near the source, which is the entire reason a machine can be rated for a volume while a bottle cannot. That last point is what separates a machine from a more expensive reed: five reeds around a large room do not add up to one even register at five times the strength, they produce five local zones with faint stretches between them. Two: approximately 1000m³, and how to translate that into your own house in two minutes. Floor area times ceiling height gives cubic feet; cubic feet divided by 35.3 gives cubic metres. At a standard ten foot ceiling, 1,500 square feet is 15,000 cubic feet, about 425m³. 2,000 square feet is about 566m³. 2,500 is about 708m³. 3,000 is about 850m³. So the rating corresponds to roughly 3,500 square feet at that ceiling height - as connected air, which is the caveat the whole page returns to. Measure only the part of the house that is genuinely open to itself, and if your living room is double height, do the sum properly: 600 square feet at a twenty foot ceiling is 12,000 cubic feet, about 340m³, so a room that looks small on a plan can eat a third of the rating. Three: the Bluetooth app and timer, which is the real purchase. Owners buy the machine and end up valuing the schedule, and the reason is a distinction most people have felt without naming. Air that has settled has distributed itself evenly across the connected volume: there is no gradient to detect and no source to locate, so a guest reads it as the house simply being like that. Air that is actively being scented while people stand in it has a source, a gradient and an arrival, and a nose reads that as a product doing something even when the person cannot say what they noticed. A schedule buys the first version every time, and it buys sameness across days, which is what a signature actually is. It also protects the level: you go nose-blind to your own house within about twenty minutes, which is why homes adjusted by feel creep upward, and a fixed schedule at a fixed setting has nothing to nudge on an evening when you cannot smell your own hall. Four: four hotel-inspired waterless blends in the box, and this is the item that changes the arithmetic. You choose one of three bundles at purchase. Bundle A is Ritz-Carlton-inspired white tea, bergamot and cedar; Westin-inspired white tea, aloe and cedar; St. Regis-inspired amber, violet and woods; and 1 Hotels-inspired cedarwood, vetiver and green leaves. Bundle B is Westin-inspired; Shangri-La-inspired jasmine, green tea and white tea; Four Seasons-inspired citrus, floral and sandalwood; and Ritz-Carlton-inspired. Bundle C is St. Regis-inspired; W Hotels-inspired citrus, pepper and amber; 1 Hotels-inspired; and Four Seasons-inspired. Fragrance in this category is nearly always a separate line, so when you compare the Vaayu with anything else, compare like with like: a machine price with four blends against a machine price with an empty chamber. We do not rank these registers by throw, longevity or intensity, because no such comparison is published and inventing one would make every other number here worthless. SOSA blends are SOSA's own hotel-inspired interpretations from an independent Indian house with no affiliation to, endorsement by or connection with any hotel brand.
Tip: compare like with like: a machine with four blends in the box against a machine with an empty chamber is not the same price at all.
2
The daily
Three things that change on an ordinary Tuesday, not on a party evening
One: the arrival moment stops being accidental, and it is the only part of a house that literally everybody experiences. Whatever else is true of your home, every single person who comes into it - family, guests, the people who work in it, you at eleven at night - passes through the first few seconds inside the front door. In most houses that moment is decided by whatever happens to be nearest: the shoe cabinet, the passage to the kitchen, whether a window was open. Scenting the connected volume means the front door has a character rather than a coincidence, and it is a character you chose once rather than one that accumulated. The one thing to get right here is order: clear the sources first. A shoe cabinet by the door is the most common cause of a poor arrival in an Indian home, and it is not a fragrance problem. Two: the house stops changing subject at every doorway. This is the change owners describe as the house feeling like one place, and the mechanism is worth knowing because it explains why room-by-room scenting always disappoints. A nose is a change detector far more than a level meter. Stand in a room for ninety seconds and you stop registering its smell almost entirely, which is why you cannot smell your own house and a visitor can. Walk through a doorway into a different register and you register it instantly, because the change is the event. So a house with a different pleasant thing in each room is loudest exactly where you least want it - in the act of moving through your own home - and a guest walking from your front door to your sofa meets three or four unrelated announcements in ninety seconds. One register held evenly across the connected volume removes every one of those events, and the house reads the way a hotel corridor reads: continuous, and therefore unremarkable in the best sense. Three: the decision leaves the evening. This is underestimated until you have lived with it. In the room-by-room version, somebody is always deciding something: whether to light the candle, whether to spray the hall before the doorbell, whether it is enough, whether it is too much. Every one of those decisions is made by a person who cannot smell their own house, under mild social pressure, fifteen minutes before guests arrive, which is precisely the recipe for overdoing it. With a schedule set once in an app months earlier, nobody thinks about it at all. The house is at the same level on an ordinary Tuesday as on the evening you have people over, and that consistency is invisible in any single moment and is the whole reason a hotel feels the way it does. And the level, which is the discipline underneath all three. Aim below the point at which a guest can name it. Lovely house is a pass. What is that fragrance is a fail. Ask the first person through the door rather than trusting your own nose, and treat two independent comments about strength as an instruction rather than an opinion. Gentle dosing is the default at home in a way it is not anywhere else, because a house holds children, elderly parents, pregnant family members and pets who breathe this air for fourteen hours a day rather than four minutes.
3
The limits
Four things it does not do, and who should therefore not buy it
One: it does not pass a closed door, and no price, setting or placement changes that. Coverage ratings assume one connected volume of air. The mechanism is air movement, and there is none between a passage and a sealed bedroom, so a partitioned villa is not one scenting problem but two: the connected living volume, which one machine holds beautifully, and a set of separate boxes, which need their own quiet answer. That answer is a reed from ₹749 - Morning Freshness ₹749, Garden Bloom ₹799, Evening Calm ₹799, Mountain Breeze ₹849, Fresh Brew ₹849, with 130ml sizes from ₹1,249 and duo sets at ₹1,498, ₹1,548 and ₹1,598 - which needs no power, makes no sound, has no light on it and cannot fail at two in the morning, all of which are genuine advantages in a room where somebody is asleep. Or, if you want the identical register behind that door rather than a neighbouring one, the ultrasonic route: the Vaayu's waterless blends and the water-based Hotel Collection carry the same seven register names, so a Boond at ₹899 or a Sukoon at ₹1,899 with a 15ml bottle at ₹299 is ₹1,198 or ₹2,198 for that room. The water-based ₹299 bottle never goes into a Vaayu, which holds no water and runs waterless oil; the two formats are not interchangeable in either direction. One Vaayu plus three bedroom reeds at ₹749 is ₹14,246 for the whole house. For one register genuinely everywhere including behind shut doors, the only answer in this range is ducting: the Aangan at ₹25,999 on central air-conditioning, approximately 8,000 to 10,000 square feet, or the Meenar at ₹38,500 for a larger estate. Two: it does not fix a smell problem, and buying it to do so is the most common wrong purchase in this category. If the house smells stale, musty or of last night's cooking, that is a source doing a real thing, and the machine adds a fragrance to it rather than removing it - which a guest reads immediately as concealment, an impression worse than the plain smell. Check the dried-out floor trap in the bathroom nobody uses, the shoe cabinet, the bin, damp mats, the rarely opened guest room. Cross-ventilate with two windows on opposite sides for ten minutes; air-conditioning recirculates rather than replaces air, so a sealed cooled house does not ventilate itself. Three: it makes no health claim of any kind. It does not purify, sanitise, treat or improve the air, and we make no therapeutic, air-purification or wellness claims. It is a fragrance system in a well-kept home, the way good lighting is a lighting system in a well-built one. Four: it comes with no published running cost, and we will not manufacture one. No standalone waterless refill bottle is listed for the Vaayu, so there is no refill price, no consumption rate, no monthly running cost and no blend duration that we may state, not estimated, not typically and not roughly. Ongoing supply is arranged directly with us on WhatsApp +91 96192 18531, and it is a fair question to ask before you buy rather than after. Which makes the answer to worth it conditional rather than universal. Not worth it in a compact home, where one reed from ₹749 already reaches everything. Not worth it in a house you are rarely in, where the schedule has no ordinary days to run on. Not worth it in a household where somebody is sensitive to ambient fragrance, because the answer there is less scent rather than a better machine. And not worth it as a fix for air. Worth it when the ground floor is genuinely open, when you want the house to be like that every day rather than before parties, and when you would rather set a schedule once than manage bottles in five rooms at five different rates.
Tip: the honest version of worth it is conditional: open ground floor, every day rather than event days, and clean air underneath it first.
The SOSA principle
The number on the page is not a machine price. It is a machine, a coverage rating, a schedule and four blends, which is a different comparison from the one most readers think they are making.
And it still stops at a closed door, still cannot fix damp, still makes no health claim, and still has no published running cost - all of which we would rather you knew now.

The SOSA home edit

Whatever the house looks like, the logic is the same: one scent, sized to the volume that is genuinely connected, running on a schedule so nobody in the family has to remember it. A single bedroom or a guest bathroom is happy on reeds with no power at all; the living room you actually live in wants a machine; the whole villa with central air-conditioning wants the ducts doing the work. Every SOSA system is made in India, cruelty-free and vegan, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali. Here is where each one belongs.

Honest notes before you buy anything. Coverage ratings assume connected air volume. A machine cannot push scent through a closed bedroom door, and it never will - so a partitioned villa is not one scenting problem but several, and honest sizing means saying so out loud rather than selling you one machine and hoping. Scent the volume that is genuinely open to itself, then give the closed rooms their own quiet answer, usually a reed diffuser. Fragrance never substitutes for ventilation or cleaning. If a room smells damp, stale or of last night's cooking, open it, air it and clean it first; scent added on top of that only makes a more complicated bad smell. A home is not a lobby you pass through. Households include children, elderly parents, pregnant family members and pets, all of whom breathe this air far longer than any visitor does, which is why gentle dosing is the default at home and why the settings we suggest are lower than the machine can run. Anyone in the house reporting a headache is a recalibration signal, not a complaint to argue with - turn it down or turn it off, and tell us. The Vaayu runs waterless nebulising oil and comes with the four hotel-inspired blends; the Hotel Collection bottle is water-based and belongs in the ultrasonic machines only. The two formats are not interchangeable. SOSA blends are SOSA's own hotel-inspired interpretations; SOSA is an independent Indian fragrance house, not affiliated with or endorsed by any hotel brand. Ongoing fragrance supply for the Vaayu is arranged with us directly on WhatsApp: +91 96192 18531. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

ISIPCA
Versailles
A note from Sonal

There is a difference between a room that smells nice and a home that has a signature, and almost nobody is told what it is. A room that smells nice is an event: you light a candle, you spray something in the hallway before people arrive, it is lovely for forty minutes and then it is gone. Somewhere else in the house a bathroom gel is doing one thing, a kitchen spray another, and a bedroom reed a third. Four pleasant smells in four rooms is not a fragranced home. It is four rooms.

A signature is the opposite. It is one scent, sized to the house, running on a schedule - so it is already in the air when someone walks through your front door, and already there at eleven at night when you come home yourself, and nobody has lifted a finger to make it happen. That is the whole trick the great hotels use, and it is not complicated: they do not chase smells room by room, they hold one fragrance across the volume people actually move through. In a villa that usually means the entrance, the living room and the dining as one connected space, with the closed rooms handled separately and quietly.

I trained at ISIPCA in Versailles and I have sized this for houses across India, and I would rather tell you honestly that your layout needs two answers than sell you one machine that disappoints you. Message us on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531 with your home's approximate size, the number of floors and a line about the layout - open plan, closed rooms, central air-conditioning or split units - and we will give you a free sizing recommendation. I read those descriptions myself. Everything is made in India, cruelty-free and vegan, and a part of every order funds girl-child education through Nanhi Kali. Your home gets a memory; a girl gets a classroom.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to buy fragrance separately when I buy the Vaayu?
Not at the start, and this is the part most readers assume works the other way. The Vaayu at Rs 11,999 ships with four hotel-inspired waterless blends included in the box, chosen as one of three bundles at purchase. Bundle A is Ritz-Carlton-inspired white tea, bergamot and cedar, Westin-inspired white tea, aloe and cedar, St. Regis-inspired amber, violet and woods, and 1 Hotels-inspired cedarwood, vetiver and green leaves. Bundle B is Westin-inspired, Shangri-La-inspired jasmine, green tea and white tea, Four Seasons-inspired citrus, floral and sandalwood, and Ritz-Carlton-inspired. Bundle C is St. Regis-inspired, W Hotels-inspired citrus, pepper and amber, 1 Hotels-inspired and Four Seasons-inspired. So the machine arrives ready to run, with four registers to choose between rather than one. What you will eventually need is more fragrance, and here we have to be straight with you: no standalone waterless refill bottle is published for the Vaayu, so we cannot quote you a refill price, a consumption rate or how long a blend lasts, and we will not estimate one. Ongoing supply is arranged with us directly on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531, and it is a fair thing to ask about before you buy.
Can I put the Rs 299 Hotel Collection bottle into the Vaayu to save money?
No, and this is the one mistake in the SOSA range that is worth being emphatic about, because it is easy to make and the two products share the same seven register names. The Vaayu runs waterless nebulising oil: it holds no water at all, which is why it produces no mist, no damp and no residue, and why it can be rated for approximately 1000 cubic metres. The SOSA Hotel Collection at Rs 299 for 15ml and Rs 999 for a 100ml refill is water-based and is formulated for the ultrasonic cool mist machines only, which are the Boond at Rs 899, the Sukoon at Rs 1,899 and the Megh at Rs 3,499. Those machines work by vibrating a water and fragrance mixture into a visible cool mist, which is a completely different mechanism. The two formats are not interchangeable in either direction. What the shared register names do give you is clean layering: if your Vaayu is running the Westin-inspired white tea, aloe and cedar across the living volume, a Sukoon in a bedroom with the water-based Westin-inspired bottle carries that same register behind a door the machine cannot reach, for Rs 2,198 with one 15ml bottle.
How does this compare to spending the same money on candles or reeds?
Differently rather than better, and the comparison only makes sense once you decide what you are trying to buy. If what you want is a room that smells lovely for an evening, candles and reeds are the correct product and a machine is overkill: a reed from Rs 749 in the entrance and another in the guest bathroom transforms both rooms for under Rs 1,600, needs no power and asks nothing of you. If what you want is one register held at one level across the entrance, living room, dining, passage and stair void, on a schedule, every day, then reeds structurally cannot do it. A reed works by evaporation from its sticks, so its effect is concentrated near the bottle and falls away quickly, which is why several reeds around a large space produce several local zones with faint stretches between them rather than one even register - and even five identical bottles drift apart because each depletes at its own rate in a room with its own airflow and temperature. Add the schedule, which no number of reeds can provide since a reed is always on at whatever level it happens to be at, and the two are producing different results rather than the same result at different prices.
Is the machine noisy? It would be sitting in our living room.
It has a pump, so it is not silent in the way a bottle of oil on a shelf is silent, and the honest way to think about it is by room and by hour rather than by decibel. In a living room during ordinary household life - conversation, a television, the kitchen, people moving about - owners tell us they stop noticing it within a week, and it runs on a schedule rather than continuously, so it is not making sound all day either. In the quietest room of the house at the quietest hour of the night, it is a real consideration, and that is one more reason the bedrooms belong to reeds, which have no motor, no light and nothing that clicks on when a timer fires. Two practical points help. First, placement: inside a console with an open back or under a console table it is both invisible and further from where people sit, and it works exactly as well there as in the open, provided it is not shut in - a closed cupboard or a position behind a heavy curtain scents the cabinet rather than the room. Second, the schedule: set it to run before you need the room rather than while you are in it, which is better for the fragrance anyway, because settled air reads as the house and working air reads as a product.
Our villa is 4,000 sq ft. Is one Vaayu still worth it, or do I need something bigger?
It depends entirely on how much of that 4,000 square feet is connected air rather than closed rooms, and the arithmetic is worth doing before you spend anything. At a ten foot ceiling, 4,000 square feet is 40,000 cubic feet, about 1,133 cubic metres, which is past a single Vaayu's approximately 1000 cubic metre rating on paper. But almost no 4,000 square foot villa is one connected volume: subtract four or five bedrooms, their bathrooms, a study and a utility area behind closed doors and the genuinely connected part - entrance, living, dining, passage, stair void - is often 2,000 to 2,500 square feet, which is about 566 to 708 cubic metres and comfortably inside the rating. So measure the open part only, and count the closed rooms while you walk, because that number is your reed count. If the connected volume genuinely is that large, or if you want one register in every room including behind shut doors, the honest answer is not a second machine but ducting: the SOSA Aangan at Rs 25,999 on central air-conditioning covers approximately 8,000 to 10,000 square feet through the ducts the house already has. Send us your layout on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531 and we will size it with you.

About this guide: Written by Sonal Sahani, ISIPCA Versailles-trained founder and perfumer at SOSA Home & Body. Product recommendations reflect the SOSA home range; the sizing logic applies to any brand's systems.

Facts verified August 2026: The SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) is a waterless cold-air nebulising machine covering approximately 1000m³, with Bluetooth app and timer scheduling. It ships with four hotel-inspired waterless blends included in the box, chosen as one of three bundles at purchase: Bundle A - Ritz-Carlton Inspired, Westin Inspired, St. Regis Inspired, 1 Hotels Inspired; Bundle B - Westin Inspired, Shangri-La Inspired, Four Seasons Inspired, Ritz-Carlton Inspired; Bundle C - St. Regis Inspired, W Hotels Inspired, 1 Hotels Inspired, Four Seasons Inspired. Format distinction: the Vaayu and the HVAC systems run waterless nebulising oil, while the separate SOSA Hotel Collection fragrance (15ml ₹299) is water-based and runs in the ultrasonic machines only - Boond (₹899), Sukoon (₹1,899) and Megh (₹3,499). The two fragrance formats are not interchangeable, and the Hotel Collection bottle does not go into a Vaayu. SOSA Aangan (₹25,999) and SOSA Meenar (₹38,500) are HVAC nebulising systems for approximately 8,000-10,000 sq ft and 12,000-18,000 sq ft respectively, ducted into central air-conditioning. Reed diffusers need no power and make no noise: Morning Freshness ₹749, Garden Bloom ₹799, Evening Calm ₹799, Mountain Breeze ₹849, Fresh Brew ₹849; 130ml from ₹1,249; duo sets ₹1,498, ₹1,548 and ₹1,598. Scent perception is personal and varies between people in the same room, and coverage figures assume connected air volume rather than a partitioned floor plan. Ventilation, cleaning and air-conditioning come first; fragrance is an addition to a well-kept home and never a substitute for any of them. SOSA blends are SOSA's own hotel-inspired interpretations; SOSA is an independent Indian fragrance house and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any hotel brand. Made in India, cruelty-free and vegan. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali. Ongoing fragrance supply is arranged with SOSA on WhatsApp: +91 96192 18531.
