An architect presentation is a meeting. Drawings on the table, a screen on the wall, a client and a designer and one of your people in a closed room for an hour, with the showroom outside the door as the reference library. You would not scent a meeting room, and you do not scent this one: a trace of the floor comes through the door, and nothing is placed inside.
Quick answers — read this first
How should I scent an appliance showroom used for architect presentations? Scent the floor, not the presentation room. The room where an architect presents to a client is a meeting room - closed door, a table of drawings, an hour of talking - and a source inside it over-scents a closed space within minutes and puts fragrance on the paper. The plan is a single dry register on the sales floor, cedar and tea or a clean lemon-mint, from a machine sited on the far side of the floor from the presentation room, so that what reaches the room is a trace through the doorway and nothing more.
Where does the machine go when there is a presentation room? On the floor side, as far from the presentation-room door as the AC path allows, on the wall the supply crosses. The presentation room should be the last place the air reaches, not the first. Never inside the room, never on the wall shared with it, and never on the corridor that feeds it. If the room has its own AC zone with its own return, that return will pull whatever drifts in straight out again, which is correct.
What is the honest way to do this? For a connected floor of roughly 1,500-3,000 sq ft with a presentation room off it, one SOSA Vaayu (Rs 11,999) on the floor side, held at the low end of its adjustable intensity and key-locked, with nothing in the room. For a small studio with a presentation table at one end, one Mountain Breeze reed (Rs 849) at reception and nothing at the table. Past about 3,000 sq ft of one connected floor, one SOSA Angaan (Rs 25,999). Any live kitchen or coffee counter stays unscented. Fragrance here is an interiors decision like lighting - SOSA makes no claim that it changes what gets specified or any business number.
The short answer
Short answer: like a meeting room with a well-kept house outside it. Nothing placed in the presentation room; one dry register on the floor from a source sited so the room is the last place the air reaches; a trace through the door is the whole plan. If the drawings on the table smell of anything, the source is in the wrong place.
The pick: one SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) on the floor side, far from the presentation-room door, low and key-locked, for a connected floor of roughly 1,500-3,000 sq ft; a Mountain Breeze reed (₹849) at reception for a small studio; one SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) past about 3,000 sq ft of one connected floor.
Next step: send a plan with the presentation room, its door, the AC supply and returns and any live kitchen marked - ask for a showroom scenting plan and we will mark the wall the machine goes on.
How should I scent an appliance showroom used for architect presentations?
Begin with what happens in the room, because the room is the whole question. An architect presentation in an appliance showroom is a meeting: a designer has brought a client, there are drawings or a laptop on the table, a screen on the wall, and the showroom outside the door is the reference library they will walk out to when a finish needs checking. The door is closed. The meeting runs an hour, sometimes two. Nobody in an office scents a meeting room, and the reasons are the same here - a closed room of two or three hundred square feet over-scents in minutes from any source inside it, the people in it are sitting still and concentrating, and whatever is in the air ends up on the paper. So the answer has two halves. First: nothing inside the presentation room. No reed on the credenza, no small diffuser on a shelf, no machine on the wall shared with the floor. Second: the floor outside is scented the way the rest of this family describes - the driest register available, cedar, sage, a little tea, or a clean lemon-and-mint on a white, glass-walled floor, held at the level the longest visitor cannot name - and the presentation room receives a trace of it through the door whenever the door opens, which is the whole plan. That trace is what an architect and client meet when they walk back onto the floor to check a worktop, and it should be the same air they met when they arrived. This makes the presentation room a placement problem rather than a product problem. The machine goes on the far side of the floor from the presentation room, on the wall the AC supply crosses, so that the room is the last place the air reaches and not the first. Never on the corridor that feeds it, never on the wall it shares, never anywhere the supply will push scent at the door. If the room has its own AC zone, its return will pull whatever drifts in straight back out, and that is correct; do not compensate. On a connected floor of roughly 1,500-3,000 sq ft, one SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999 is the machine: waterless, adjustable intensity run at the low end, 1h/4h/8h/24h timer, key-lock so the setting that was right for the room stays right, wall or HVAC mount so you can choose the far wall rather than the nearest socket. In a small studio with the presentation table at one end and reception at the other, one Mountain Breeze reed at ₹849 at reception, with three reeds in, and nothing at the table. Between about 300 and 750 sq ft a Sukoon at ₹1,899 at the reception end works, with the honest note that it is water-based and adds a little moisture. Past about 3,000 sq ft of one connected floor, one Angaan at ₹25,999, never a second Vaayu in the same air. If a live kitchen or coffee counter sits on the floor, it stays unscented while it runs - machine off on the timer, extraction clearing afterwards. The pages next to this one take the same idea into the rooms around the presentation: the day an architect visits sets the level for the floor, specification tables is the placement rule for the table itself, and the written standard for designers puts the door rule in one document. And the caveat every page carries: fragrance is an interiors decision, like lighting or music. SOSA makes no claim that it changes what gets presented, what a client specifies, footfall, dwell time or sales, and no claim about what it does to any appliance, drawing or finish. Ask for a showroom scenting plan and we will mark the wall.
Treat the presentation room as a meeting room: nothing placed inside it, one dry register on the floor from a Vaayu (Rs 11,999) sited on the far side so the room is the last place the air reaches, and a trace through the door is the whole plan. A reed at reception for a small studio; never at the table.
For a connected floor of roughly 1,500-3,000 sq ft with a presentation room off it, one SOSA Vaayu - waterless, wall or HVAC mount, key-lock - at ₹11,999 on the far wall from the room. Nothing inside the room. That is the whole installation.
Two honest answers, decided by the size of the floor outside the presentation room - never by the room itself, which gets nothing. The images link to the product pages so every figure can be checked.
A 1,500-3,000 sq ft floor with a presentation room off it
Waterless cold-air nebuliser rated to 1000m³ - about 2,000-3,000 sq ft - on one unit, Rs 11,999. The two features that matter here are the wall or HVAC mount, because the whole answer is which wall it sits on, and the key-lock, because the setting that leaves the presentation room faint must stay set. Adjustable intensity run at the low end; 1h/4h/8h/24h timer so it stops for any demonstration; under 38dB; no water, no residue.
Himalayan pine, sage and Indian cedar - the driest register SOSA makes. At reception, at the opposite end of the studio from the presentation table, with three of the six reeds in. Alcohol-free; flip weekly. 50ml Rs 849 lasts 6-8 weeks; 130ml Rs 1,349 lasts 14-18 weeks. Reaches one desk zone and stops, which is what keeps it off the drawings.
1000m³ coverage (about 2,000-3,000 sq ft) on one unit, Rs 11,999. Wall or HVAC mount so the source sits on the far wall from the presentation room rather than at the nearest socket; adjustable intensity and key-lock so the low setting stays set; 400ml tank, 90+ days a fill; Bluetooth app and 1h/4h/8h/24h timers; under 38dB. Waterless, so it adds no moisture and leaves no residue. CE, RoHS, SGS certified. Made in India.
The five placement rules for a room where drawings are on the table
A presentation room does not need a fragrance decision. It needs five placement decisions made about the floor around it, in this order.
1
The room
A closed room with a table in it gets nothing - the same rule as a meeting room
Every office that has tried scenting a meeting room has learned the same thing: a closed room of two or three hundred square feet with four people sitting still in it has no tolerance for a source of its own. What reads as a trace on an open floor reads as a presence within ten minutes behind a closed door, and by the end of an hour the people in the room have stopped thinking about the kitchens and started thinking about the air. A presentation room in an appliance showroom is that room with better joinery. So the rule is absolute: no source inside. Not a reed on the credenza, not a small ultrasonic on a shelf, not a machine on the shared wall. The room's air comes from the floor, through the door, when the door opens, and that is enough. A Vaayu is never the answer for a room this size; it is the answer for the floor outside, from about 1,500 sq ft of connected air. The selection studio page makes the same argument for a working room with samples on the table; this is the closed-door case of it.
Rule: if you would not put it in your own meeting room, do not put it in the presentation room.
2
The wall
The machine goes where the presentation room is the last place the air reaches
Once the room gets nothing, the entire question is which wall the machine sits on. The wrong answers are easy to list: the wall the room shares with the floor, because the machine is then loudest exactly where the door is; the corridor that leads to the room, because a corridor is a funnel; anywhere the AC supply will push air at the door. The right answer is the far side of the floor, on the wall the supply crosses, so that the scent is carried across the sales floor and away from the presentation room, and what arrives at the door is what is left after the floor has had it. Think of the room as the far point of the floor and place the source at the opposite end. This is what the wall or HVAC mount on the Vaayu is for: it lets the machine sit on the wall the plan chose rather than beside the nearest socket. Central AC placement has the general method for supply and return; this page is the case where one room must sit at the bottom of the gradient.
Rule: stand in the presentation-room doorway. If you can point at the machine, it is on the wrong wall.
The Vaayu wall- or HVAC-mounts on the wall the plan chose, and holds the low setting under a key-lock once the presentation room is faint.
Drawings, sample boards and laptops must not carry the fragrance out of the room
An architect walks out of a presentation with a roll of drawings and a sample board and puts them on a client's kitchen table that evening. If those things smell of your floor, your floor has followed the architect home, and no designer wants a showroom's fragrance on their own work. This is the practical reason the room gets nothing and the level on the floor sits at a trace: paper, card and fabric-backed sample boards hold fragrance far better than steel and glass do, and an hour in a scented closed room is long enough to load them. The register helps too. Dry cedar, sage and tea leave less on paper than anything sweet or amber-forward, which is one more reason the driest thing SOSA makes - Mountain Breeze - is the family default, with Morning Freshness for a white, glass-walled floor. SOSA makes no claim about what fragrance does to any drawing or material; the point is what the architect carries out of the door.
Test: leave a sheet of plain paper on the presentation table for a morning. Smell it at noon. If you can name the floor, the level or the wall is wrong.
4
The air-handling
A presentation room with its own AC zone pulls the trace out again - let it
Many presentation rooms are on their own AC zone, because they are closed rooms that fill with people. That zone has its own return, and the return does what returns do: pulls the air in the room out and back to the plant. Whatever trace drifts in through the door is removed within a few minutes of the door closing. Owners sometimes read this as the room "losing" the fragrance and want to fix it. There is nothing to fix. A presentation room that smells of nothing ten minutes into a meeting is a presentation room working exactly as it should. Never turn the floor machine up to push more through the door; the floor pays for that all day and the room still empties. If the room is on the same zone as the floor, its share of the trace arrives with the supply and leaves with the return like everywhere else, and the far-wall rule already keeps it faint. Why fragrance disappears when the AC runs explains the mechanism for the whole floor.
Rule: a return in the presentation room is on your side. Do not fight it with the dial.
5
The demonstration
Presentations often end at the live kitchen - the kitchen stays unscented
An architect presentation in an appliance showroom often finishes with a walk to the live kitchen, where a chef demonstrates the hob or the oven the drawings have specified. The demonstration owns the air while it runs. The machine on the far wall goes off on the timer or with one press before the hob is lit, extraction runs during and after, and ambient fragrance returns only when the room smells of nothing. A coffee counter is the same rule, always. A designer who has just sat through an hour on the floor's faint cedar and then meets it again over seared butter has been given a reason to doubt your extraction, and will say so. The scent plan stops at the demo zone's edge as if it were a wall, and the presentation room sits on the far side of the floor from that zone too, if the plan allows. The oven and hob experience centre works through the demo rule in full.
Mountain Breeze - pine, sage and cedar. At reception in a small studio; never at the presentation table.
A presentation room is scented the way a meeting room is: not at all, with a well-kept floor outside the door.
Nothing inside. Machine on the far wall. A trace through the doorway. The room is the last place the air reaches.
One machine, one far wall, one locked setting: SOSA Vaayu, ₹11,999, waterless, wall or HVAC mount, key-lock, for the floor outside the presentation room.
Door by door: what the presentation room receives, and from where
Here is the same plan laid over a typical floor with a presentation room off it. The room is at the bottom of the list on purpose: it receives the least, from the furthest away.

Nothing placed in it. A corridor is a funnel, and a source in it aims the floor's fragrance at the door.
The presentation room itself
Nothing inside. A trace through the door when it opens; the room's own return removes it within minutes, and that is correct.

The SOSA presentation-floor specification
A meeting room with a well-kept floor outside it - nothing inside, a trace through the door
Nothing is ever placed inside the presentation room, at any floor size. Between 750 and 1,500 sq ft a Vaayu is bought for control, no water and distribution - never for coverage. The four 100ml bottles in the Vaayu box are the supply; confirm refill availability with SOSA before planning around it. Fragrance on a presentation floor is an interiors decision like lighting or music, with no claim about what gets specified, footfall, dwell time or sales, and no claim about what it does to any appliance, drawing or finish. It works alongside ventilation, cleaning and extraction, never instead of them. The live kitchen and coffee counter stay unscented while they run.Ask for a showroom scenting plan and we will mark the wall.

A note from Sonal
The presentation room is the room owners most want to scent and the one I most often refuse. I understand why: it is where the important conversations happen, the architect and the client and the drawings, and the instinct is to make that room the best-smelling room in the building. But it is a meeting room. Closed door, four people sitting still, an hour of concentration, paper on the table. Nobody scents a meeting room, and the reasons hold here exactly. A source inside is a presence in ten minutes and a topic in forty. The room's air should come from the floor, through the door, and be faint.
So the whole job is placement. The Vaayu goes on the far side of the floor, on the wall the AC supply crosses, so the presentation room is the last place the air reaches and not the first, and the mount is what makes that possible - you choose the wall, not the socket. If the room has its own return and the trace disappears ten minutes into a meeting, good. Do not touch the dial. And if the presentation walks to the live kitchen afterwards, the machine is already off on the timer and extraction is running, because the demonstration owns the air while it runs.
In a small studio the same logic is a Mountain Breeze reed at reception with three reeds in and nothing at the presentation table. Past about 3,000 sq ft, one Angaan on the plant, still nothing in the rooms. And the line I put on every page: SOSA makes no claim that fragrance changes what gets presented or specified, footfall, dwell time or sales, and no claim about what it does to any appliance, drawing or finish. It is an interiors decision, like lighting or music. Made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
Frequently asked questions
Should a scent diffuser be placed inside an architect presentation room?
No. A presentation room is a closed meeting room of two or three hundred square feet with people sitting still in it for an hour, and any source inside - a reed on the credenza, a small ultrasonic, a machine on the shared wall - becomes a presence within ten minutes and a topic within forty. The room's air comes from the floor outside, through the door, as a trace. The machine belongs on the far side of the sales floor, not in or near the room.
On which wall does the scent machine go when a showroom has a presentation room?
The wall furthest from the presentation room that the AC supply crosses, so the fragrance is carried across the sales floor and away from the room, and what reaches the door is what is left. Never the wall the room shares with the floor, never the corridor leading to it, never anywhere the supply pushes air at the door. A quick check: stand in the presentation-room doorway; if you can point at the machine, it is on the wrong wall. The Vaayu's wall or HVAC mount is what lets you choose.
The presentation room loses the fragrance a few minutes after the door closes - is something wrong?
Nothing is wrong. Most presentation rooms sit on their own AC zone with their own return, and the return pulls the trace that drifted in straight back out. A presentation room that smells of nothing ten minutes into a meeting is behaving exactly as a meeting room should. Do not turn the floor machine up to push more through the door: the whole floor pays for that all day and the room still empties. Leave the dial where the far-table test set it.
Will an architect's drawings and sample boards pick up the showroom fragrance?
They can, if the room is scented or the floor is set too high, because paper, card and fabric-backed sample boards hold fragrance far better than steel and glass. That is a practical reason for nothing inside the room and a trace on the floor: a designer does not want a showroom's fragrance on their own work at a client's kitchen table that evening. A dry register such as cedar and sage leaves less on paper than anything sweet. SOSA makes no claim about what fragrance does to any material; the point is what leaves with the architect.
Does scenting the floor outside a presentation room change what an architect presents or specifies?
SOSA makes no such claim. Fragrance on a showroom floor is an interiors decision, like the lighting in the presentation room or the music on the floor. It does not change what a designer presents, what a client specifies, footfall, dwell time or sales in any way SOSA will assert, and SOSA makes no claim about what it does to any appliance, drawing or finish. The reason the room gets nothing and the floor gets a trace is the meeting itself, nothing more.
On the far wall, low and locked, nothing in the room: SOSA Vaayu, ₹11,999, waterless, for the floor outside a presentation room.

Facts verified 7 September 2026 against the live SOSA product pages: the SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) is a waterless cold-air nebuliser rated to 1000m³, described by the manufacturer as approximately 2,000-3,000 sq ft, with a 400ml refillable tank lasting 90+ days a fill depending on intensity and run hours, Bluetooth app and onboard button control, 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, adjustable intensity, operation under 38dB, DC 12V/1A at 5W (roughly 1.5 units of electricity a month on a ten-hour daily schedule), freestanding or wall and HVAC mounting, auto-stop and key-lock, and CE, RoHS and SGS certification - electrical and compliance marks. Being waterless, it adds no moisture and leaves no residue on surfaces or displays; the four 100ml bottles in the box are the supply, and refill availability should be confirmed with SOSA. The SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) is an HVAC nebulising diffuser rated to 3,000m³, roughly 8,000-10,000 sq ft, with an 800ml reservoir, metal body, programmable schedules and operation under 42dB; the SOSA Meenar (₹38,500) is the HVAC machine for 12,000-18,000 sq ft. The SOSA Sukoon (₹1,899) is a 500ml water-based ultrasonic diffuser for a single room of roughly 270-320 sq ft.
