How much air are we actually talking about? At a typical 9 ft ceiling, 300 sq ft is roughly 2,500-2,700 cubic feet of connected air - smaller than a large hotel suite. A reed's fixed, low output reaches every corner of that on its own.
Which reed, and where? Mountain Breeze ₹849 for most interiors, or Morning Freshness ₹749 if the waiting room is white and bright. One bottle, on the desk, about a metre high, clear of the door draught.
When does a machine start to make sense? Not here. The real decision point starts around 750-1,500 sq ft, and a SOSA Vaayu's genuine coverage floor is about 1,500 sq ft of connected air. Below that, a machine is bought for control, never for reach.
The reason a machine adds nothing here is arithmetic, not opinion. The smallest machine in the SOSA range built for a room, the Sukoon, is rated to about 270-320 sq ft - which means at 300 sq ft it would be asked to cover almost the entire footprint of the clinic on its own, at a machine's price, for a room a ₹849 reed diffuser already reaches without a dial, a mist or a power point. What a machine actually buys, at any size, is control: a run schedule, an off switch between clinics, a key-lock so a setting cannot drift. A 300 sq ft clinic rarely needs that control, because a reed's output is fixed and low by design - there is no dial for a busy afternoon to push up, and no session-to-session variation to manage, because the bottle does the same small thing all day.
Placement matters more than product at this size. Put the reed at the reception desk, about a metre high, clear of the door draught and the air-conditioning outlet, and at least two metres from the nearest seat if the waiting chairs are close together - closer than that and the first patient in gets a noticeably different room from the fifth. If the clinic includes one consultation cabin, our recommendation is that it inherits a trace of the reception air through the door rather than takes a reed of its own; a second bottle in a room this small is very easy to over-dose. And if any part of the 300 sq ft includes a procedure or injection nook, that nook carries nothing at all, regardless of how small it is - a patient who is lying down or undressed did not choose the air and cannot leave it, and that rule does not bend for a small footprint.
On the register: Mountain Breeze - Himalayan pine, sage and Indian cedar, ₹849 for 50ml - is the default, because a warm, dry, woody note reads as considered without pushing a specialist practice toward reading as a spa. If the interior is white, bright and chrome-heavy rather than wood and stone, Morning Freshness at ₹749 suits the palette better; a sharper citrus-and-eucalyptus note carries further in a low-buffer room without a heavier dose. Choose the 50ml bottle over the 130ml here - the smaller reservoir lasts 6-8 weeks, which is plenty of runway for a single-room clinic, and the 130ml's extra months are not worth paying for at this size.
What we would genuinely tell a doctor calling about a 300 sq ft fit-out: spend the machine budget on the waiting chairs instead. A reed diffuser is not a placeholder for a future machine purchase - it is the finished answer at this size, and it will still be the right answer in eighteen months unless the clinic itself grows into a second room. If it does, the sizing changes: between 300 and 750 sq ft, reeds through the patient-facing zone remain correct, or a Sukoon at ₹1,899 if being able to switch the scent off between sessions genuinely matters to how the practice runs - and even then, that Sukoon is bought for the off switch, not because the reed had stopped reaching. Ask for a clinic scenting plan and we will tell you plainly if the answer is one bottle, because for most 300 sq ft clinics, it is.
What actually goes on the desk
At 300 sq ft there are really only two reed options worth comparing, and no machine worth adding to either.
Why one reed is already enough
Three reasons a 300 sq ft clinic does not need a machine, in the order a sceptical owner would ask them.
The 300 sq ft floor plan, room by room
A worked example: a 300 sq ft clinic split into reception, one consultation cabin and a small procedure nook.
| Room | Approx. share of the 300 sq ft | What it gets |
|---|---|---|
| Entrance and reception desk | About 160 sq ft | One reed - Mountain Breeze 50ml ₹849. The whole scented footprint. |
| One consultation cabin | About 100 sq ft | Nothing of its own. A trace inherited through the door is normal and sufficient. |
| Procedure or injection nook, if present | About 40 sq ft | No fragrance at all, regardless of how small the room is. |
The SOSA sizing ladder
One register, sized to the connected air rather than the ambition of the fit-out. At 300 sq ft, only the first row of this table applies.

Versailles
A doctor once called us three weeks before opening a 300 sq ft consulting room and asked which machine we recommended. We asked for the floor plan first, and the honest answer took thirty seconds: one reed, on the desk, nothing else. He was disappointed, in the way people are disappointed when the answer to a big question turns out to be small and cheap.
He bought Mountain Breeze at ₹849 instead of the machine he had budgeted for, and put the difference into two better chairs. Eight months later he called again - not for a machine, but to ask whether the second consultation cabin he was adding needed a reed of its own. It didn't; it inherited a trace through the door, same as the rest of this cluster recommends.
We are not in the business of selling a machine to a clinic that does not need one. If your footprint is genuinely under 300 sq ft, the honest specification is one bottle, and we will tell you that on the first call, not the third. Made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

Facts verified 5 September 2026 against the live SOSA product pages: the SOSA reed diffusers are alcohol-free, phthalate-free and paraben-free compositions on a heat-stable coconut-derived base, supplied in a refillable glass bottle with six fibre reeds, flipped weekly, with 50ml lasting 6-8 weeks and 130ml lasting 14-18 weeks, tested at 45°C and 85% relative humidity - Mountain Breeze ₹849 / ₹1,349, Morning Freshness ₹749 / ₹1,249. The SOSA Sukoon (₹1,899) is an ultrasonic cool-mist diffuser covering about 270-320 sq ft for 16-18 hours on the low setting and supplied with three 15ml Hotel Collection fragrances; being ultrasonic, it works by aerosolising water and therefore adds some moisture to the air. The SOSA Megh (₹3,499) is an ultrasonic cool-mist diffuser with a 6 litre capacity covering about 215 sq ft, a runtime and humidity machine rather than a coverage upgrade. The SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) is a waterless cold-air nebuliser rated to 1000m³, described by the manufacturer as approximately 2,000-3,000 sq ft, with a 400ml refillable tank lasting roughly 75-90 days depending on intensity and run hours, Bluetooth app and onboard button control, 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, adjustable intensity, operation under 38dB, DC 12V/1A at 5W (roughly 1.5 units of electricity a month on a ten-hour daily schedule, and tariffs vary), freestanding or wall and HVAC mounting, auto-stop and key-lock, and CE, RoHS and SGS certification - which are electrical and compliance marks, not medical approval. Being waterless, it adds no moisture and leaves no residue on surfaces or equipment; refill availability should be confirmed with SOSA. The SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) is an HVAC nebulising diffuser rated to 3,000m³, roughly 8,000-10,000 sq ft, with an 800ml reservoir and operation under 42dB. SOSA products are not medical devices and no health, therapeutic, wellbeing or clinical claim is made or implied anywhere in this guide; ambient scent is an interior and hospitality decision that works alongside cleaning, ventilation and hygiene protocol and is never a substitute for any of them. Infection control, cleaning agents, waste handling, air-change rates and HVAC filtration are matters for the clinician and the facilities engineer. Fragrance sensitivity is real: staff should be able to switch any system off in seconds, and no SOSA product is described as hypoallergenic or as safe for sensitive individuals. The hotel-inspired scents are SOSA’s own original interpretations; SOSA is an independent brand and is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any hotel named for reference. Coverage, fragrance usage and running cost depend on the space, settings and hours of use, and are confirmed on a consultation.
