This is the one page in this section where the honest recommendation is usually to spend less. At 1,500 sq ft you are nowhere near the ceiling of what a machine can hold, and the part of your house that actually shares air is smaller still. So before we talk about the Vaayu, let us do the arithmetic properly, because it may well tell you that a much cheaper machine is the right answer for your home.
Quick answers — read this first
What size scent machine does a 1,500 sq ft villa need? Far less than most people assume. Convert first: 1,500 sq ft at a 10 ft ceiling is 15,000 cubic feet, which divided by 35.3 is about 425 cubic metres. But you never scent the whole floor plan, because bedrooms and bathrooms sit behind doors. In a typical 1,500 sq ft home the genuinely connected space - entrance, living, dining and the passage between them - is more like 600 to 700 sq ft, which at 10 ft is about 170 to 198 cubic metres. Against that load, a Megh 6L ultrasonic at Rs 3,499 with the water-based Hotel Collection from Rs 299 is often enough, and a Sukoon at Rs 1,899 covers a single open living area. The SOSA Vaayu at Rs 11,999 is comfortable here and buys you scheduling, waterless running and four included blends, but it is not required by the arithmetic.
Is the SOSA Vaayu too big for a 1,500 sq ft home? Not too big in a way that causes a problem, because coverage and intensity are separate settings and a machine rated for a larger volume is designed to hold a gentle level across it rather than to make a small room smell stronger. The honest question is whether it is more machine than you need. Buy the Vaayu at Rs 11,999 if you want a Bluetooth schedule that runs before you get home, a waterless system with no tank to fill or empty, four hotel-inspired blends included in the box, and headroom for a double-height hall or a stairwell carrying scent upstairs. Buy a Megh at Rs 3,499 instead if your connected space is one living and dining area and you are happy topping up water.
Would a Megh or Sukoon be enough for 1,500 sq ft? For most 1,500 sq ft homes, yes. A Sukoon at Rs 1,899 handles one enclosed living room properly; a Megh 6L at Rs 3,499 handles a larger living room or an open kitchen-dining and runs a long unattended stretch on one fill, which is why it is the usual recommendation at this size. Both are ultrasonic and run the water-based SOSA Hotel Collection from Rs 299, which is a different fragrance format from the waterless oil the Vaayu uses. Where they fall short is reach: an ultrasonic works on the room it sits in rather than across an open floor plus a stair void, and neither schedules itself the way the Vaayu's app and timer do.
The short answer
Short answer: A 1,500 sq ft villa is 15,000 cubic feet, about 425 cubic metres at a 10 ft ceiling - and the connected part you actually scent is usually only 600 to 700 sq ft, about 170 to 198 cubic metres. That is comfortably inside a SOSA Vaayu (Rs 11,999, approximately 1000 cubic metres, four hotel-inspired blends included) but it does not require one: a Megh 6L at Rs 3,499 or a Sukoon at Rs 1,899 with the water-based Hotel Collection from Rs 299 is often genuinely enough. Bedrooms behind closed doors take a reed from Rs 749 either way. WhatsApp +91 96192 18531.
The pick: the SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999, four hotel-inspired blends included in the box) for the connected living volume of a villa; reeds from ₹749 for a single bedroom or bathroom; a single room done properly from ₹899; the Aangan (₹25,999) ducted into central air-conditioning for genuine whole-home coverage.

A villa is not one room, it is a set of connected volumes and a set of closed doors, and the two need different answers. Whole-home scenting means one fragrance held evenly across the part of the house you actually live in - the entrance, the living room, the dining - running on a schedule so it is already there when someone walks through your front door, and already there when you come home yourself. The bedrooms, the guest bathroom and the study get their own quiet solutions. Nobody in the house has to remember anything.
What is the best scent machine for a 1,500 sq ft villa - and is a full machine even necessary?
Do the arithmetic before you spend anything. 1. The conversion. Floor area x ceiling height = cubic feet, / 35.3 = cubic metres. At a 10 ft ceiling, 1,500 sq ft is 15,000 cubic feet, about 425m³. 2. The number you actually need. You do not scent a floor plan, you scent connected air. Take out the bedrooms, the bathrooms and the study, and a 1,500 sq ft home usually leaves 600 to 700 sq ft genuinely open to itself - about 170 to 198m³ at 10 ft. That is a fifth of what a Vaayu is rated for. 3. The honest smaller answer. A Megh 6L at ₹3,499, or a Sukoon at ₹1,899, running the water-based Hotel Collection from ₹299, covers that comfortably. Ultrasonic, water in the tank, room-scale. 4. When the Vaayu is still right. ₹11,999 buys waterless cold-air nebulising to approximately 1000m³, a Bluetooth schedule so the house is scented before you walk in, no tank to fill, and four hotel-inspired waterless blends in the box. If your ground floor is genuinely open, you have a double-height hall or a stair void you want carrying upward, that headroom is worth having. 5. Either way, the closed doors. A reed from ₹749 per bedroom or guest bathroom. Air and clean the house first; scent finishes clean air. WhatsApp +91 96192 18531 with your layout for a free sizing. Made in India; a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
One line: 1,500 sq ft is about 425m³ at 10 ft, and the connected part is nearer 170-198m³ - so a Megh ₹3,499 is often enough, and the Vaayu ₹11,999 buys scheduling and headroom rather than necessary coverage. WhatsApp +91 96192 18531.
The whole-home answer most villa owners land on: the SOSA Vaayu - waterless cold-air scenting to ~1000m³, Bluetooth app and timer, and four hotel-inspired blends included in the box - at ₹11,999. One bedroom or a guest bathroom starts on reeds from ₹749; a single room done properly from ₹899; central air-conditioning from ₹25,999. What 1,500 sq ft actually comes to in cubic metres
Three numbers decide this, and the smallest one is the one that matters.
Why this works at home
Sizing down honestly - what 1,500 sq ft really asks for
The whole-home answer: the SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999 - waterless, app-scheduled, ~1000m³, and it arrives with four hotel-inspired blends in the box. A single bedroom or guest bathroom starts on reeds from ₹749.
The whole-house figure, and why it is not your figure
Start with the conversion everybody skips. Floor area multiplied by ceiling height gives cubic feet, and cubic feet divided by 35.3 gives cubic metres. So 1,500 sq ft at a standard 10 ft ceiling is 15,000 cubic feet, which is about 425m³. Put that beside the Vaayu's approximately 1000m³ and the machine looks like roughly twice the house. But 425 is still not the number you buy against, because it assumes every cubic metre in that plan is one connected body of air, and in a real 1,500 sq ft home it is not. Two or three bedrooms, two bathrooms and possibly a study sit behind doors that are shut for most of the day, and fragrance does not cross a closed door at any price. Strip those out and what remains - entrance, living, dining, the passage that joins them - is commonly 600 to 700 sq ft, which at 10 ft is 6,000 to 7,000 cubic feet, about 170 to 198m³. That is the load. It is under a fifth of what the hero machine is rated to hold, and pretending otherwise would be the easiest way to sell you something you do not need.
Tip: the figure on your sale deed is not the figure you scent. Subtract every door that is shut at nine at night.
2
Number two
What a Rs 3,499 machine genuinely does at this size
At 170 to 198m³ of connected air, the ultrasonic route stops being a compromise and becomes a sensible answer. A Megh 6L at ₹3,499 is a cool-mist machine with a large tank, which means it runs a long unattended stretch on one fill - a whole evening, a whole working day - and it is genuinely good in one large living room or an open kitchen-dining area. Below it, a Sukoon at ₹1,899 does one enclosed living room properly, and a Boond at ₹899 does a bedroom or a study. All three run the water-based Hotel Collection from ₹299, with a 100ml refill at ₹999, and that is a real cost advantage at this size: the fragrance is published, priced and repeatable. What you are trading away is reach and automation. An ultrasonic scents the room it stands in rather than holding an even level across an open floor, a stair void and an entrance at once; it has water to fill and empty; and it does not run itself on a Bluetooth schedule while you are still in the car.
3
Number three
When Rs 11,999 is still the right decision at 1,500 sq ft
There are four honest reasons to take the Vaayu at ₹11,999 in a house this size, and none of them is coverage. The first is the schedule: a Bluetooth app and timer mean the connected volume is already scented before anyone walks in, every day, without a person remembering. That is the single feature owners mention most, and no ultrasonic offers it. The second is waterless running: nothing to fill, nothing to empty, no damp residue on a console in monsoon, and a dry cold-air micro-mist that stays airborne rather than settling. The third is what is in the box: four hotel-inspired waterless blends included, chosen as Bundle A, B or C at purchase, so you audition four registers in your own rooms rather than buying a machine and then a shopping list. The fourth is geometry. If your 1,500 sq ft has a double-height entrance, a stair void you want carrying scent to the landing, or a genuinely open plan with no internal doors on the ground floor, the extra headroom stops being theoretical. If none of those apply, keep the ₹8,500 difference.
Tip: at this size the Vaayu is bought for the schedule, the waterless format and the four blends - not because the room needs the coverage.
The SOSA principle
At 1,500 sq ft the arithmetic argues for less machine, not more. The connected volume is about 170 to 198m³ - and honest sizing says so out loud.
A Megh at Rs 3,499 covers the load. The Vaayu at Rs 11,999 buys you the schedule, the waterless format and four blends in the box.

Whatever the house looks like, the logic is the same: one scent, sized to the volume that is genuinely connected, running on a schedule so nobody in the family has to remember it. A single bedroom or a guest bathroom is happy on reeds with no power at all; the living room you actually live in wants a machine; the whole villa with central air-conditioning wants the ducts doing the work. Honest notes before you buy anything. Coverage ratings assume connected air volume. A machine cannot push scent through a closed bedroom door, and it never will - so a partitioned villa is not one scenting problem but several, and honest sizing means saying so out loud rather than selling you one machine and hoping. Scent the volume that is genuinely open to itself, then give the closed rooms their own quiet answer, usually a reed diffuser. Fragrance never substitutes for ventilation or cleaning. If a room smells damp, stale or of last night's cooking, open it, air it and clean it first; scent added on top of that only makes a more complicated bad smell. A home is not a lobby you pass through. Households include children, elderly parents, pregnant family members and pets, all of whom breathe this air far longer than any visitor does, which is why gentle dosing is the default at home and why the settings we suggest are lower than the machine can run. Anyone in the house reporting a headache is a recalibration signal, not a complaint to argue with - turn it down or turn it off, and tell us. The Vaayu runs waterless nebulising oil and comes with the four hotel-inspired blends; the Hotel Collection bottle is water-based and belongs in the ultrasonic machines only. The two formats are not interchangeable. SOSA blends are SOSA's own hotel-inspired interpretations; SOSA is an independent Indian fragrance house, not affiliated with or endorsed by any hotel brand. ISIPCA Versailles
A note from Sonal
There is a difference between a room that smells nice and a home that has a signature, and almost nobody is told what it is. A room that smells nice is an event: you light a candle, you spray something in the hallway before people arrive, it is lovely for forty minutes and then it is gone. Somewhere else in the house a bathroom gel is doing one thing, a kitchen spray another, and a bedroom reed a third. Four pleasant smells in four rooms is not a fragranced home. It is four rooms.
A signature is the opposite. It is one scent, sized to the house, running on a schedule - so it is already in the air when someone walks through your front door, and already there at eleven at night when you come home yourself, and nobody has lifted a finger to make it happen. That is the whole trick the great hotels use, and it is not complicated: they do not chase smells room by room, they hold one fragrance across the volume people actually move through. In a villa that usually means the entrance, the living room and the dining as one connected space, with the closed rooms handled separately and quietly.
I trained at ISIPCA in Versailles and I have sized this for houses across India, and I would rather tell you honestly that your layout needs two answers than sell you one machine that disappoints you. Message us on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531 with your home's approximate size, the number of floors and a line about the layout - open plan, closed rooms, central air-conditioning or split units - and we will give you a free sizing recommendation. I read those descriptions myself. Everything is made in India, cruelty-free and vegan, and a part of every order funds girl-child education through Nanhi Kali. Your home gets a memory; a girl gets a classroom.
Frequently asked questions
How do I work out my own connected volume at 1,500 sq ft?
Walk from your front door to the dining table and count the doors you had to open. Everything you passed through freely is your connected volume. Add up the floor area of just those spaces - entrance, living, dining, the passage, the stair void if it is open - then multiply by your ceiling height in feet for cubic feet and divide by 35.3 for cubic metres. A worked example: 620 sq ft of connected space at a 10 ft ceiling is 6,200 cubic feet, about 176 cubic metres. If your living room is double height, count that part at its real height: 200 sq ft at 20 ft is 4,000 cubic feet on its own, about 113 cubic metres. Compare the total to the machine's rating rather than comparing square feet to a square-foot claim, and the whole decision becomes obvious in five minutes with a tape measure.
Will a Megh at Rs 3,499 reach my entrance from the living room?
Partly, and how well depends on the doorway rather than the machine. An ultrasonic works on the body of air around it and relies on the room's own movement to spread further, so if your living room opens straight into the entrance through a wide arch with no door, the entrance will pick up the register at a gentler level. If the entrance is a separate lobby with a turn in it, or if a split air-conditioner is pushing air the other way, it will not carry well and the front door - the highest-value moment in the house - stays unscented. That is the specific case where the Vaayu earns its Rs 11,999 at 1,500 sq ft: it disperses actively across a connected volume rather than working outward from one room, so the entrance, living and dining hold the same level.
Is it a mistake to buy a machine rated for more than my house?
It is not a mistake in any technical sense, because coverage and intensity are different settings and a larger-rated machine is built to hold a gentle level across a bigger volume rather than to overpower a smaller one. What you do have to do is set it accordingly, and at home that means running it lower than most people's instinct: the correct level is one where a guest walks in and reads the house as welcoming without being able to name a note. The genuine risk is financial rather than olfactory - paying Rs 11,999 for headroom you will never use when Rs 3,499 would have covered the room. So the question is not whether it is too big; it is whether the schedule, the waterless format and the four included blends are worth the difference to you.
Can I start small and upgrade later without wasting money?
Yes, and at this size it is the sensible path for a lot of houses. Start with a Megh at Rs 3,499 or a Sukoon at Rs 1,899 with the water-based Hotel Collection from Rs 299 in the room you actually live in, and reeds from Rs 749 in the bedrooms. Live with it for a season. If what you find yourself wishing for is reach - the entrance smelling the same as the living room - or automation, then the Vaayu at Rs 11,999 is the upgrade, and nothing you bought first is wasted: the ultrasonic moves into a bedroom, a home office or a puja room where it does an honest job, and the reeds stay exactly where they are. The one thing that never transfers is the fragrance format, because the water-based Hotel Collection runs in ultrasonics only and never in a Vaayu.
How many reeds does a 1,500 sq ft villa usually need?
Count the doors that are shut when guests are in the house. A typical 1,500 sq ft home is two or three bedrooms plus two bathrooms, so three to five reeds is the usual answer, and you do not have to do them all at once. At Rs 749 each for Morning Freshness, three is Rs 2,247 and five is Rs 3,745; Garden Bloom and Evening Calm are Rs 799, Mountain Breeze and Fresh Brew Rs 849, with 130ml sizes from Rs 1,249 and duo sets at Rs 1,498, Rs 1,548 and Rs 1,598. Keep them in the same register family as whatever runs in the connected volume, so a doorway changes depth rather than subject. Where you want something a little more present in a room, a Boond at Rs 899 with the water-based Hotel Collection from Rs 299 replaces the reed.

Facts verified August 2026: The SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) is a waterless cold-air nebulising machine covering approximately 1000m³, with Bluetooth app and timer scheduling. It ships with four hotel-inspired waterless blends included in the box, chosen as one of three bundles at purchase: Bundle A - Ritz-Carlton Inspired, Westin Inspired, St. Regis Inspired, 1 Hotels Inspired; Bundle B - Westin Inspired, Shangri-La Inspired, Four Seasons Inspired, Ritz-Carlton Inspired; Bundle C - St. Regis Inspired, W Hotels Inspired, 1 Hotels Inspired, Four Seasons Inspired. Format distinction: the Vaayu and the HVAC systems run waterless nebulising oil, while the separate SOSA Hotel Collection fragrance (15ml ₹299) is water-based and runs in the ultrasonic machines only - Boond (₹899), Sukoon (₹1,899) and Megh (₹3,499). The two fragrance formats are not interchangeable, and the Hotel Collection bottle does not go into a Vaayu. SOSA Aangan (₹25,999) and SOSA Meenar (₹38,500) are HVAC nebulising systems for approximately 8,000-10,000 sq ft and 12,000-18,000 sq ft respectively, ducted into central air-conditioning.
